The final push: Romney's 770-mile Iowa sprint

MASON CITY, IOWA-- Mitt Romney's campaign schedule for the final four days of his Iowa campaign turns an old axiom on its head.

While veterans of recent bus tours by Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry likely won't be impressed, with 10 stops in three-and-a-half days, and some 770 miles of driving between them, the final stretch amounts to both a both a marathon and a sprint for the Romney campaign.

Touching down Saturday afternoon after a roughly 24-hour New Hampshire detour, Romney will criss-cross Iowa one last time -- putting roughly enough miles on his bus to get from Boston to Columbus, Ohio -- and hitting towns and counties which largely supported him four years ago.

On Saturday, Romney will make two stops in Northwest Iowa -- in Le Mars and Sioux City -- both of which are in counties Romney carried in 2008. Sunday morning, Romney visits Atlantic Iowa, in a county he lost to Mike Huckabee by 6 percentage points. Council Bluffs, where Romney will hold an afternoon rally, is Iowa's second-largest county, and Romney carried it by 11 points in 2008.

Overnight Sunday and into Monday, Romney will travel across the state to campaign in Dubuque and Davenport, on the state's Eastern border -- more friendly territory for Romney. Romney won Davenport's Scott County by 11 points, and Dubuque county by a whopping 23 points.

Monday afternoon the campaign works it's way to Cedar Rapids, where Romney pulled off a 5-point win four years ago, then terminates in Des Moines for events Monday night and Tuesday. It is there, in Polk County, which Romney lost by 13 points last cycle, where Romney will host his final rally and caucus-night event.

In what some see as a sign of the campaign -- and the candidate's -- confidence of a win or a very close second-place finish in Iowa, Romney will overnight in Des Moines, and conduct morning-show interviews there Wednesday -- rather than go straight to New Hampshire.

The campaign's explanation for staying the night? Eric Fehrnstrom, a Romney senior adviser, told NBC's Andrea Mitchell today simply, "We want a well-rested candidate."

Ferhnstrom added Romney will leave for New Hampshire Wednesday -- at a "more sensible hour."

Freeloading lefties?

Dude, RED states are the overwhelming freeloaders in this country.

You might want to refer to your right wing kind as the freeloaders 'cause that's where all the freeloaders live...

RED and right and freeloading.

Common sense, in most red states, the majority of people on handouts are Democrats.

Democrats freeload, Republicans pay the taxes for them.

Blacks voted 95% Obama last election and in Alabama 66.3% of those on welfare are black, Arkansas 58.2%, Georgia 70.2%, Louisiana 78%, Mississippi 83.6%, North Carolina 58.6%, South Carolina 69.2%, Tennessee 53.6%, Virginia 61.4%.

      http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ofa/character/fy2009/tab08.htm

On top of this, the poor in general (who get welfare) vote Democrat by 2 to 1 in elections.

I would like to know if any of the Left wing, Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrat Kooks who post and/or read on this blog, please give us (by posting your) HONEST ASSESSMENT of B. Hussein Obama's, the great "Community-Organizer-in-Chief" job performance on the U.S. Economy since becoming POTUS in January 2009?
Simple as that, can you give an honest grading of B. Hussein Obama's job performance on the U.S. Economy?

Can any of you scared, cowardly Socialist Democrats do just that?

I can in one word. FAILURE, F - GRADE and imo, I don't believe an F - Graded POTUS deserves re-election to another four year term in the White House. With your grade, does B. Hussein Obama deserve re-election? Yes or No?

Lets see. I would give the President a "B" and the Democratic Congress a "D" and the GOP a big fat "O" because that is exactly what they have contributed to trying to get things on track. There number one mission from day one was obvious and that was to get Obama out of office using every trick they could come up with. So for a President trying to negotiate with crazy people who have no intentions of trying to make anything better for anyone or anything. Anything they have gone along with they have been kicking and screaming the whole way and what is really sad is some of these things they have supported in the past, but since our Nigerian Osama Bin Hussein Obama is President....well we can't support that! You are nut and your GOP is just one big group of phony mfers! Now if you want to put up someone serious like Jeb Bush, and I even think John Huntsman is sane....I would gladly take a look at a serious and stable GOP candidate. However this current group aside from Hunstman are all nuts. I would say that if you put a D or an R by there name. Nutso is nutso no matter what party you belong to! You notice how Huntsman who is probably the only sane one in the bunch can't get much support even though he is probably the most conservative of the whole bunchh? It's because he isn't nuts is why he isn't getting support. You right wing whacko's want a whacko for President instead of anyone who might have a shred of sanity!

My fellow Conservative Republicans, WE CANNOT ALLOW the Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrats change the subject from B. Hussein Obama's entire THREE YEARS OF FAILURE AS POTUS, nor let our great country forget on Nov. 6th, 2012. We also CANNOT ALLOW the Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrats to make the 2012 General Elections to be about the GOP Nominee, instead of B. Hussein Obama's Presidential Term of FAILURE while in office.

We have to continue to remind the American Electorate of the current state of the U.S. Economy and joblessness and remind the voters that Obama has been in office THREE YEARS and soon to be FOUR YEARS and nothing has improved during this term in the White House. We have to tell the American electorate any way that we can, that B. Hussein Obama hates this country and does not want it to rebound economically, succeed, nor be a leader in the world for freedom, democracy, capitalism, free markets and the private sector being stronger than the federal government where the people have all the power, instead of the feds whom are there to serve us.

We have to NOT ALLOW the Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrats to "change the subject" or try to distract the American electorate from focusing ON OBAMA's MISERABLE RECORD OF FAILURE WITH REGARDS TO THE U.S. ECONOMY AND JOBLESSNESS. We must force them to do what they already know themselves they cannot do and that's to DEFEND B. HUSSEIN OBAMA'S MISERABLE RECORD AS POTUS.

We also must not allow them to just "blame Bush" and then quickly change the subject to attack the GOP Nominee, the GOP party, Conservatism, Christianity, American Traditionalism, Our Philosophy on the "Truths of Life" and ANY prior administration's record. MAKE THEM DEFEND OBAMA'S RECORD AND B. HUSSEIN OBAMA'S RECORD ALONE.

They've even graded B. Hussein Obama themselves on this very thread when I asked them and the best grade they could give him was a "C" (a horrible grade from his own robot followers and one they knew they couldn't give any higher to, as they would look like the foolish, lying, robot followers that they are) and yet still posted their ridiculous beliefs that a "C" Graded POTUS is worth re-electing, even in a horrible U.S. Economy and skyrocketing U.S. Unemployment rate. Thus making those posters "rambling defenses" of B. Hussein Obama look foolish and biased as they truly are. Make these Left Wing, Leftist, Liberal, Socialist Marxist, Democrat Kooks defend this CLOWN & "Community Organizer" President and they'll be stumbling over their foolish a**es trying to defend what they know to be a FAILURE of an inexperienced and unqualified POTUS.

JB, you seem to be very angry tonight. Are you always this angry? Are you always so angry as to ignore the facts? Those facts include an improving economy under Obama, despite the efforts of virtually every Republican to make it otherwise. Those facts include a declining (not "skyrocketing") US unemployment rate. Somewhere around 100,000 private sector jobs have been created every month since summer. But don't let the facts get in the way of your rant.

JB Unemployment was skyrocketing at the end of Bush/Cheney. We are much better off than we were were 3 years ago when Bush/Cheney economic policy cost the country 2.5 million jobs in just the last 3 months of their presidency. Over one million in the last month alone. That has not happened since they left office. But we still had to borrow over a trillion dollars from China to fight that useless war in Iraq killing and maiming tens of thousands of our brave young people. All that war did was make Iran the premier military power in the Middle East and now Iraq will be their closest ally. We will be paying for that boondoggle for years to come. But thats all right because Cheney did get paid 25 million from Halliburton on his way to the White House

Yeah, Obama has kept his promises to fix the American Economy & improve joblessness (NOT!!) and to run a much more transparent and honest (Chicago-style, pay-for-play, actually) method of governing. So, let's not forget, in order to pass Obamacare, after B. Hussein Obama promised that those healthcare bill debates would be televised live on C-SPAN (HA!! WHAT A LIE THAT WAS!!), he implemented shady, backroom deals like the Cornhusker Kickback with Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrat Senator Ben Nelson, the Louisiana Purchase with Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu and the Florida Gator-aid Deal with Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrat Senator Bill Nelson (which at the time, B. Hussein Obama was pressured, by the American people, to back out of). In addition to that, here's some other slimy, shady happenings that occurred with the passage of Obamacare...Chicago-style, pay-for-play politics at its finest!!

Scott Matheson, brother of Congressman Jim Matheson (D, Utah), was suddenly nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Obediently, Congressman Matheson went from a "no" vote on Obamacare to "Undecided."

A new hospital in Connecticut for morally-challenged Senator Chris Dodd

Roughly ten billion U.S. Taxpayer dollars in community health centers to buy off Vermont's Bernie Sanders

A threat to take away Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman's committee chairmanship unless he fell into line with regards to Obamacare

The above are just a few of the slimy tactics, bribes, kickbacks and payoffs, that B. Hussein Obama pulled on the unwitting American people who have never polled as a majority FOR Obamacare, but have to have it completely repealed!! NOT TO MENTION THAT THE SUPER-MAJORITY, DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED U.S. CONGRESS AND PRESIDENT EXEMPTED THEMSELVES AND ONLY A FEW LIBERAL AFL/CIO LEFTIST, LIBERAL, SOCIALIST, MARXIST, DEMOCRAT LABOR UNIONS FROM HAVING TO PARTICIPATE IN OBAMACARE AT ALL, WHILE THE REST OF US, U.S. CITIZENS ARE FEDERAL GOV'T MANDATED TO!!!

I always knew that Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrats love to accuse others of what they themselves are 100X more guilty of, but the nerve & audacity of a lot of you Left Wing, Socialist, Marxist Kooks to accuse the GOP of being nefarious, unethical, corporatists would be so LAUGHABLE, if it wasn't such a downright, bold-faced lie!!!

        B. Hussein Obama and his Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrat party, and left wing kooky robot followers who post on these PMS-NBC Threads are the most unethical, most nefarious, most notoriously foul and corrupt LIARS in U.S. Political History!!! However, your lies and distortions WON'T WORK on Nov. 6th, 2012. I promise you that!!!

As I read the comments posted here and elsewhere with political partisans from both major parties taking their best verbal shots at each other, I am reminded of the fact that despite all of your rhetoric and voting a straight ticket you will have very little impact on the outcome of the next presidential election. Straight ticket voters are merely rubber stamps for the party elite that parrot what they are told is the truth. The truth of the matter is that independent voters, such as myself, will determine the next president of the United States. Neither party possesses a majority and can hence elect no one without the independent vote. Your needs would be much better served if you you made good arguments on behalf of those folks that you support rather than trite attempts at being funny and tearing down the opposition. Recent polls have indicated that President Obama has lost favor with the critical independent voters, but with ten months to go before the general election, anything can happen. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Since I am an independent and my state does not have open primaries, I have to depend on the wisdom of the Republican and the Democratic electorate to determine who shall be the standard bearer for their respective parties. It is probably safe to assume, baring any unforeseen complications, that President Obama will head the Democratic ticket. The Republican side of the ledger is much more clouded and at this time I will not presume to hazard a guess as to whom they may eventually nominate. I would not be totally surprised that they might go to convention with no one as the clear cut winner. This would make for an interesting and very probably entertaining selection process. Stay tuned.

              My prediction:

Romney will get the Republican nomination, and Obama will be re-elected. Unfortunately, he'll continue to deal with a Republican-controlled Congress that will oppose and obstruct him at every turn.

As a result, nothing of substance will be accomplished during the next four years. The atmosphere among Republicans in Congress will continue to be so venomous the President's appointments will be filibustered, and numerous offices, including those of judges, will remain vacant.

unfortunatley, Obama is the worse of two evils regarding the security of the middle class over the next 4 years.

Both sides are bought. Obama is the only chance of pressing more progressive taxes versus regressive taxes. Most Americans are too stupid to figure it out and get duped into supporting the wrong party.

They post radical ideas that require no substantiation and try to lure in as many idiots as they can.

Ever notice how the poster of many of those messages never engages in any real arguement?

Does any GOPer have the intelligence to pick a candidate and explain why??

Other than "It's not Obama".....We are all too painfully aware the right wingers live their lives being AGAINST things....Rush is the most popular media person because he sells fear and being against things...Right wingers love buying fear and anti anything.

But is the right winger intellectually capable of being FOR anything???

I'm betting it's impossible for any right winger to articulate who they are for and why.

Proof is in the GOP primary, Palin, Bachmann, Trump, Perry, Cain, Newt......all have been in the lead and not one single person on planet Earth or even any other planet that right wingers live on can explain why they like these people.

The only way any of the goper candidates will see the Whitehouse will be looking at it from the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Ave.

Rasmussen Election 2012 Poll: Governor Mitt Romney 45% Jumps into Lead Over B. Hussein Obama 39%. Ha-ha!! Yeeeaaaah Buddy!!!

Hypothetical match up, Obama now trails Romney …

Talk about a reversal of fortune. According to the most recent Rasmussen poll, Mitt Romney has jumped ahead of B. Hussein Obama and has his biggest lead yet over the "The Community-Organizer-in-Chief," 45% to 39%.

Just last week Romney trailed Obama 44% to 41%. What has to be most concerning for B. Hussein Obama is that as an incumbent president, he is polling under 40%. Normally it's a serious issue if an incumbent President polls under 50%, but under 40% is a complete disaster.

Mitt Romney has now jumped to his biggest lead ever over President B. Hussein Obama in a hypothetical Election 2012 matchup. It's also the biggest lead a named Republican candidate has held over the incumbent in Rasmussen Reports surveying to date.

The latest national survey finds that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters favor the former Massachusetts governor, while 39% prefer the "Community-Organizer-in-Chief" President. Ten percent (10%) like some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

Presently in the Rasmussen polls, Obama has a 45%-55%, approval/disapproval for his job approval rating. Meanwhile 72% think the country is headed in the wrong direction, while only 22% think the country is headed in the right direction (that 22% is you Leftist, Liberal, Socialist, Marxist, Democrat, Left wing Kooks who post on these PMS-NBC threads with your heads far implanted up the rear-end of B. Hussein Obama, that you can't see a horribly, inexperienced and unqualified POTUS, if he walked up and slapped you in the face., ya a** kissers!!) Ha!! Eat that poll!!! Hee-hee-hee!!!

Johnny--If you want the truth about the polls (not just the Republican Rasmussen poll), go to http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/president_obama_vs_republican_candidates.html. There you will see that Obama beats Romney in six of eight polls. But we already know you're not interested in the truth, because we've already established that you are a liar. If you have the guts, respond to my post 31.3.

Johnny--You posted something at 9:47 (post #57), well after my last post, above. You've had ample time to respond. So now we have proof that you are not only a liar, but also a coward. I disagree with some on this vine, but respect them because they are willing to engage in honest debate. You do not deserve respect.

We're not talking about the Democrats running in 2012, we're talking about the Republicans.
