NBC's Domenico Montanaro breaks down how the caucus process works and just how much Iowa matters.
Prepare for Jan. 3's Iowa caucuses and the Jan. 10 New Hampshire primary with NBC News' definitive guide of the history, tradition and statistics surrounding these nominating contests.
The guide below (view as a .pdf here) contains a complete rundown of this year's primary calendar, and a look back at the political events to have govern the past year. It also breaks down the way delegates are apportioned to candidates throughout the GOP primary.
It dives even further into the history and demographics guiding the Iowa and New Hampshire contests, and includes data from the 2008 caucuses and primaries, too.

Oh Gooodeee!
The 'ABC' Guide to watching the 'SOS' mob!
SOS = Stuck on Stupid!
Good thing I have 'POP'!
Plenty of *popcorn*
"Beer me Marge!"
H.S.
The only thing missing is the sportscaster from the movie Major League!
And "stand bye folks there's more excitement to come!"
"It JUST DOESN"T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS" Still laughing, can't help it!
Having been to many democratic caucuses, I can tell you, it's a lot more fun on the "D" side. The candidates supporters who don't have 15% viability are wooed and convinced to join support for another. Usually the best "woo-ers" (anyone can do this) go to the nonviable candidate groups and debate, discuss and convince. It's a lot more fun than a simple straw poll because there's so much interaction among the various candidate's supporters. The t-shirts, buttons and assorted gear worn by attendees is always surprising to see.
Although the "D" caucus won't be as exciting as 2008, I've got my Obama T-shirt and buttons ready for Tuesday night!
Hey we got it, there's a bunch of also-rans yammerin away, there's the peoples candidate that's being ignored or laughed at, and there's the government's candidate who thinks is all his on a platter.
Did I leave anything out? Oh yeh, theres the democrats over there behind the trees snickering praying to their gods that whoever comes out of this mess is anyone but Ron Paul!
This election stuff is pretty amusing.
The candidates of both parties posing as people who care about certain ideals whether Right or Left.
Here's what they mostly do when they get in office (Democrat or Republican) and how they are really judged by the corporations and rich people who, for the most part, bankroll their campaigns and the corporate media (well, maybe not #3):
1. Transfer millions, billions or trillions of dollars from the general public to the richest 1-2% via: bank bailouts, targeted tax cuts and tax "incentives", sale of public assets and for less than they are worth (many times wayyyy less), Federal Reserve tricks like "quantitative easing", 0% interest money given to banks that they then lend to the public (With interest) or gamble with on the stock market, etc., etc.
2. Slaughter poor people (these days, usually in another country and not considered "white"). Viet Nam (4 million killed), Central america, 1980's (U.S. funded death squads and terrorist groups like the Contras) a million dead (?), Iraq and Afghanistan (at least hundreds of thousands killed and wounded). Of course Democrats, after LBJ, do it a lot more discreetly and with a lot of smoke about human rights, etc to suck the liberal/progressive crowd in: Yugoslavia/Serbia (1999) Predator drones (Pakistan), brutal air attacks on civilian areas and civilian infrastructure, in Libya, etc.
3. Play golf (self explanatory)
See #2 in my post above:
Obama’s global Murder, Inc.
29 December 2011
The Obama administration has erected a vast apparatus of global assassination involving unmanned aerial drones operated by the CIA and the military. This network of “targeted killing” machines is run in secrecy, behind the backs of the American people and with virtually no congressional oversight.
The US drone program is the subject of an exposé published in the Washington Post on Wednesday, headlined “Under Obama, an emerging global apparatus of drone killing.” While restrained in its presentation, the Postarticle is a chilling account of a government that has asserted for itself the right to kill anyone, anywhere in the world, without even a pretense of legal proceedings. The lives of thousands of people have been wiped out in this manner.
The US drone program, according to the Post, “involves dozens of secret facilities, including two operational hubs on the East Coast, virtual Air Force cockpits in the Southwest and clandestine bases in six countries on two continents.”
A study by the Congressional Budget Office concluded that the US had 775 Predator and other drone aircraft, plus an unknown number operated by the CIA as part of covert operations. Not including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, assassinations have been carried out in at least three countries. The recent downing of a drone over Iran, however, points to much broader operations.
One of Obama’s first actions as president was to order a Predator drone attack on Pakistan. Since then, nearly 240 attacks have been carried out against the country, killing thousands, mostly civilians. Some 15 strikes have been launched against Yemen, and several others in Somalia.

Iowa is non player in the national elections. They have the primary so early in the election season that nobody remembers what happens there if not for the press. Besides, who cares. In politics it the same @!$%# on a different day. Who was the last president who won Iowa???????????? I sure the hell can't remember.
Arch,,,get off the drugs man,,,it showing real bad.
Let's all remember Obama's pledge to ignore white voters this time. Maybe because they are on to this racist, anti-America, anti-Capitalism Marxist.
Interesting "Clarification"
The following impressive clarification is quite interesting. It was excerpted from a more politically excessive email.
This rather brilliantly cuts thru all the political doublespeak we get. It puts it into a much better perspective and is the same for many countries in Europe ...
Why the U.S. was downgraded:
* U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
* Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
* New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
* National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
* Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000
Let's now remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget:
* Annual family income: $21,700
* Money the family spent: $38,200
* New debt on the credit card: $16,500
* Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
* Total budget cuts: $385
Got It ?????
Oh please StopTheMarxist-3864834!
Why did you have to go there where truth and reality lives?
We all know the viners live with their heads up Obamys backside and reality is NOT ALLOWED!!
Drink more Obama bath water cause their tired of carrying it!!!
No brains but POP probably a free handout from Obama!!
Dear Iowa and New Hampshire Independents and Republicans,
I am appealing to your sense of intelligence, dignity and duty to country. You “definitely” have an option this
year; on one hand you have a President who is doing his best to turn this country around after eight years of a failed Republican Policy and on the other hand you have Republicans and Tea Party members trying to turn back clock - to the point where we see deregulation and support of big business destroy our country.
Republicans have argued against needed billions in unemployment because they thought it was good fiscal policy not to spend money. Yet Republicans were for an extension in tax cuts which would have cost trillions over a decade. That supports the theory that Republicans simply watched rich get richer while the middle class was decimated and the poor were driven into the ground. (1)
Let me ask you this one important question...what if you were unemployed and had been for several months. How do you feel about the fact that your Republican Party wanted to pull the rug out from under you by taking away Unemployment Benefits? Is that a clear indicator for you that your party understands and supports the Middle Class? If this scenario doesn’t apply to you, but it does applies to one of your kids and their family or your mother or aunt or uncle? How do you vote Republican this year with a clear conscience?
Since the 90’s, Republican policies removed banking regulations to the point that you are nickel and dimed out of the very money that your trying to protect. Is this really what you back in office? We’re already struggling to get our economy back up on its feet and now because of GOP talking points and fear mongering, you’re willing to remove this President from office!
Republican Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin wants to privatize your Social Security? In fact, your Republican Party, advocates the privatization of the very money that you give into Social Security - leaving it
up to the markets to determine your retirement fate. IT’S YOUR SAFETY NET AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULDN’T TOUCH IT! I can imagine a time, after you let Republicans privatize our Social Security, when
China decides to cash in and voilà – our Social Security is now owned by the Chinese Government! (1)
Republicans advocate the removal of regulations concerning manufacturing processes that pollute our drinking water and make our lands uninhabitable; the removal of regulations that protected consumers physically and in their wallets and the removal of any regulation that would stop big business from preying on the weak and uninformed!
There are two sides of the Republican coin that confuses most of you is the "Compassionate Christian Conservative" belief system and the other side is the dog eat dog, survival of the fittest, eat your children mentality. Yes....if I were you I would be confused too - because it is very clear to me that your Party has lost
its identity. It is clear to everyone on the other side of the isle that your brand of politics is very unappealing and is not in line with main stream America.
So today, I plead with you, do the right thing and ignore tomorrows Iowa Caucus - send a message to your party that the Republican brand of politics is out of touch - just as are the Republican candidates. Do the right thing and vote for Obama....because if there is one thing we can all agree on...Obama is better than any current Republican alternative!

you want stupid? Let's have Joe Biden come on out and give us his stand up routine--which is any time he opens his mouth!
ArchStanton
Your article below is a little misinformed and provides a lot of misdirection:
If you're gonna go after Obama because of targeted drone attacks against suspected terrorists...why not go after Bush and Cheney for the US-led invasion of Iraq. According to the British NGO, 162,000 Iraqi people, almost 80% of them civilians, were killed in Iraq. And you're really worried about civilian casualties.
President Bush used drones with the same degree of effectiveness. Now here's the kicker, Republicans assailed Democrats when we talked about the number of deaths due to collateral damage...and one only has to ask....what's the difference. There is none!
The question you should be asking yourself is this...why did we fight an unnecessary war and take our focus off of finding bin Laden? Iraqs WMD program was investigated, inspected and proven to be in compliance by UAEA just prior to the invasion. It was also noted that Iraq's WMD program ended in 1991 and through extensive inspection by U.S./U.N. Weapons Inspectors, that there were indeed no WMD in country.
So here is the bottom line: Bush Republicans sent 4000 plus military services members to their death for a war that should not have been fought. Bush Republicans sent 30,000 plus service members to Iraq only to have them come back, maimed and broken. Bush Republicans sent hundreds of thousand of military service members to a country to fight a war that will have lasting effects in terms of PTSD. The cost of this war is immeasurable - President Bush and Republicans abused out national treasure - our sons and daughters! If that wasn't enough, the Iraq War cost this country nearly a trillion dollars. To put this in better perspective...this war has cost the state of Iowa nearly $10 billion.
Now here the thought of the Day...My President did what Bush and Cheney couldn't do - he set into motion the apparatus that killed Osama bin Laden. I would agree with your argument if you said, "well it was Bush's policies that led to the discovery and eventual death of bin Laden," especially if this occurred within the first few months of Obama Presidency. But as history is recorded this event took place during Obama's third year in office. Bush and Cheney simply had nothing to do with it. Besides how could you give them any credit when they literally stopped looking for bin Laden to pursue their war in Iraq.
So Iowa...vote Republican and get more of the same ole tire Bush cronism. Or you could use your god given brain and make the tough decision and re-elect Obama. Let him continue his policy of change - I just ask one thing - tell your Republican members of Congress to stop being obstructionist and actually work and debate with the President. Tell them to work towards a compromise instead of shutting the door.
Anyhow, thanks for your time and ear!
I don't live in either of those states and quite frankly don't give a rat's patootie.
This "guide" merely adds to the hype.
I'd rather scrub the mold off my shower curtain than read a guide to the Republican primaries.
Amy:
Was that necessary? No one is forcing you to read.
Yes, ITM, it was absolutely necessary, I'm bored to death with the Republican primary since they kicked Herman Cain out.
The real question is why do you have moldy shower curtains? Yuck!! But then again, being a liberal, you are part of the great unwashed so it kind of makes sense.
Downloaded the guide for my lunchtime read (ooo, I wanna party with this guy!!!) and found it interesting and informative, regardless of party affiliation. The primaries and the election are not intended as entertainment - though they are more often than not.
rocco --- you're a little slow on the uptake. ever hear about watching paint dry and grass grow. you must not get around much. i'd buy you some books but i'm sure all you would do is eat the covers off.
Interesting article in the New York Times (of all places) about how detacted and distant Obama is.
White House officials, however, counter that Mr. Obama’s detachment from Congress could end up benefiting him politically. After all, many Americans regard this Congress as dysfunctional, with abysmal approval ratings.
How utterly incompetent can his officials be to actually say it out loud? The economy is in the crapper and all they're worried about over at the white house are their own jobs. We need leadership you fool not somebody that's gonna throw up the hands.
EMBARASSING!
Gee....
I wonder why Rasmussen (who had last election closer than any other polling group)
has Romney 45% Obama 39%
Maybe it's because the public already knows Obama is a FRAUD!
Hey Rob in ma own little world,
The article above is about the upcoming Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary. Where did you get the info about Obama? Did you just drift off topic or are you programed to only post drivel?
Seeing that MSNBC posts about 90 articles about the republicans to every one about Obama I thought I would try to add a little balance. I know libbies would rather keep the focus somewhere other than this FAILED president but oh well....
Why not give it a whirl. Do you think it's a good idea for Obama to just sit on his hands for the next 13 months like his advisors think?
Detachment from Congress is not the same as detachment from American voters. The former is a hygenic move, the latter, what the multimillionaires running in the Republican primary are.
Seriously, this is the same blather coming from the media that has been put out there off/on for three years. Anything to try to paint some great divide between democrats, republicans and President Obama. Odd, though, when I listen to democratic legislators discuss President Obama and their access to him, there is no problem.
It reminds me of the same chatter that hits the media periodically about Hillary Clinton running against President Obama in 2012. When that failed to happen, it became the chatter that Hillary and VP Biden will change jobs.
You should read the whole article in the NY Times as democrats are complaining about his engagement. This ain't from Fox News, it's the NY TIMES.
Carter's communication director said this...
“Some people are saying he’s a recluse. You don’t want that reputation. He needs to show that he likes people.”
Democrat donors are also not happy with Obama as well....
Similarly, some of the president’s aides acknowledge complaints from Democratic fund-raisers that they have not been shown much love from the president, beyond standard grip-and-grin photographs at fund-raising dinners.
And lastly, the blather about Hillary and Biden switching jobs is coming from Robert Reich.
It's gonna get tougher and tougher for Obama as election day approaches. AS IT SHOULD
Obama doesn't shmooze with Congress and Beltway Insiders, Rob?
Gee, I wonder why?
Would you associate with those people?
This sort of information makes Obama more, not less, appealing.
Rob, I hear more gossip and kevetching about my boss at WORK, than I do about President Obama from Democrats. The guy at the top always gets the hits, the stuff you mention sounds pretty minor to me.
Matt - like I said read the whole article. The theme is simple Obama is out golfing instead of doing the job he was elected to do. It's plain as day. If you choose to interpret it another way be my guest.
Sorry, Rob. That dog won't hunt (or golf).
I've lived through several Presidents and their vacations. Obama's vacations are just... average.
It's a miserable job, and I know people hounded Bush for excessive vacationing. But the guy is entitled to a break once in a while.
Gee....
I wonder why Rasmussen (who had last election closer than any other polling group)
has Romney 45% Obama 39%
Rasmussen is wrong about 99% of the time. If you want to believe them -- have at it. But look at ALL the polls. Even Fox has Obama beating Romney. Funny thing about conservatives -- the ONLY time you believe in polls is when they tell you what you WANT to hear. Take a look at all the data.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/president_obama_vs_republican_candidates.html
The theme is simple Obama is out golfing instead of doing the job he was elected to do.
LOL!!! Rob -- is that the best you can do -- another Fox noise worthless talking point?? Good luck running on that. Remember -- Bush spent more time on vacation than he spent in the Whiter House.
I`m curious. Will Cain`s name appear in any contests while his campaign is "suspended"? It would only add to what looks like high confusion already in place. Oh well , we`ll see.
The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of LEADERSHIP FAILURE. It is a sign that the U.S. can't pay it's own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's RECKLESS FISCAL POLICIES... Leadership means "the buck stops here". America has a debt problem and FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP. America deserves better. (Barack Obama, 2006, when the debt by this nation was 8 Trillion dollars, and rose by a "whole" 3.5 Trillion dollars during the Bush Presidency)
Obama will ask Congress to raise the debt ceiling again (while it's not even in session) by January 14th, when the Senate will STILL not be in session. The debt will be 16.4 TRILLION dollars, of which over 6 Trillion has come in less than the three years Obama has been President. In Obama's own words, "A FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP"!!!!
Why are you on the left even considering voting this guy back into office? Do you like Trillion dollar annual deficits? Do you like the government telling you what you WILL buy or threatening you with a fine? Do you like knowing that next year you owe a "fee" to the Federal Government for just having health insurance? Do you like massive regulations that drive millions of jobs overseas? Do you like that 16 Million Americans are unemployed? Do you like that another 2 million homes will be foreclosed on in 2012? Do you like that an oil pipeline that would create jobs and lower our gas prices is being held up just because of politics? Do you like the idea of our credit rating being lowered for the first time in our history? Do you like that the President demanded a one year extension of the payroll tax cut, got it from the House, and then attacked the House for giving it to him and demanded instead the tax cut be extended only two months? Do you like that his campaign manager is speaking out on economic policy while his own economic advisors that YOU are paying remain silent?
You must, because all of this has and is happening under Obama.
ANY Republican is better than this kind of garbage from the "leader" of our nation.
@Cheryl can you point to ANYPLACE you raised these concerns about the debt ceiling when Ronnie Raygun raised them 17 times - yes 17 times???
How about when Papa & Baby Bush raised them - 8 times each? Were you concerned then? My guess is you didn't hear from Fake News Channel then so you didn't know what talking point to grab.
When your party was in power - and had the White House, the US Senate and the Congress - YOU RAISED THE DEBT CEILING. In fact you raised the deficit and created the largest trade deficit in US history. You also created the largest federal agency in US history - you also started two unfunded - unnecessary wars.
You righties are funny. You PRETEND to be against spending but we all know the truth. You are not. You are simply against spending when YOU aren't doing the spending. Stop being a hypocrite. Your kids are watching.
Obama will ask Congress to raise the debt ceiling again (while it's not even in session) by January 14th,
He doesn't have to ask Congress. It's automatic. That's the deal Crying Speaker Tan Man cut last summer. Increasing the debt limit is nothing new. Bush 43 did it 7 times and Reagan did it 17 times. You're simply repeating another meaningless right wing yapping point.
Funny --- you so called conservatives said NOTHING when George W. Bush and his Republican Congress turned the largest surplus of all times into the largest deficit of all times --- in less than 3 years and without including most of the costs of the two wars they started in the calculations. Why are you so very concerned about spending now when for 8 years you didn't even give it a second thought??
I nominate Banana Sam the spider monkey for the GOP nomination.
Banana Sam, when asked his views on Abortion, war, religion and the debt ceiling, threw feces at the camera crew and leapt into a tree. Faux News interpreted this surprising comeback as a bold statement designed to empower the GOP supporters in Iowa.
Michele "bat #$!^ crazy" Backman, said this was "a sign from heaven for her to continue her work".
Rick inSanetorum mumbled something but no one was listening.
Ron "let the markets decide" Pawl made the point that "aids came from monkeys, sex with monkeys transfers aids, therefore gay people are monkey lovers."
Rick Peary threw feces BACK at Banana Sam and chased him out of sight into some park nearby.
Nuet TheGrinch sat nearby and quietly cried into his cups.
Mittens Ramnay smiled and combed his hair for the camera saying that monkeys should not be allowed in politics, then stepped into the crowd and said how proud he was to have a monkey as his running mate.
The rest of the "contenders" were there but no one cared.
Here's the only guide you need. Iowa republicans are ashamed of each and every candidate they have before them. The GOP is hard up. They have nothing to offer but racism and hate. The lies from the right will cascade across the state until the craziest of the crazy right wing GOP candidates gets the nod and then goes on to utter defeat in the national election. America is saved from the right wing cowards, traitors and fools and all is well.
I have read through some of the comments, my thoughts are: How very sad. To call Thomas Jefferson, Madison and Monroe Dumb, Stupid, as well as the other names called here is foolishness in the name of politics.
Thomas Jefferson both helped form and belonged to the Republican Party.
The Letters of Thomas Jefferson: 1743-1826
A RADICAL DIFFERENCE OF POLITICAL PRINCIPLE
To John Melish Monticello, January 13, 1813
"The party called republican is steadily for the support of the present constitution. They obtained at its commencement, all the amendments to it they desired. These reconciled them to it perfectly, and if they have any ulterior view, it is only, perhaps, to popularize it further, by shortening the Senatorial term, and devising a process for the responsibility of judges, more practical than that of impeachment. They esteem the people of England and France equally, and equally detest the governing powers of both."
http://www.let.rug.nl/usa/P/tj3/writings/brf/jefl216.htm
There is an email circulating: http://www.tennesseefta.com/html/thomas_jefferson_quotes.html stating Thomas Jefferson was a Republican. While this is true, it is also not true when we interpret it in todays 2012 Republican.
In his day there was the Federalist Party that George Washington belonged to, then there was The Democratic-Republican Party or Republican Party which was an American political party founded in the early 1790s by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Political scientists use the former name, while historians prefer the latter one; contemporaries generally called the party the "Republicans", along with many other names. In a broader sense the party was the concrete realization of Jeffersonian democracy.
Out of this party came both the Democrats and the Republicans . For one to attack the republicans as foreigners is to call oneself a foreigner and visa versa. They are both parties with varying political ideas, but both have the same American historical foundation. Let us remember this while we go through the 2012 election process. We are all U.S. Citizens first. Let us treat each other as such. Disagreement is fine, debate is fine. Belittling and name calling is not fine. Both party's have the right to an orderly process. Both Parties should be respected, as well as the Libertarians and Independents.
I have not made my mind up on whom I am going to vote for, for the election is 11 months a way, however each of the commenter's represent their political party. They should be inviting the common citizen by pointing out the good in their party, not by continuously ripping the other party. I believe there are many americans who feel like I do. We are sick of it. We would prefer to hear less about the other party's faults and more about the party and their strengths that are addressing us.
We at Newsvine are reasonable people and so I would hope that we can disagree reasonably.
After they get into office, they will all be the same because the same people from the shadow govt are controlling them all. Take when the process first started. They were asked about 10:1 spending cuts to tax increases compromise . All 10 candidates said no. Like robots.
Detaching himself form this worthless Congress is exactly what the Preaident should do. In fact -- he should have done it a long time ago. Even the Fox poll shows only an 11% approval rating for the current Congress. Nixon's numbers never got that low. Used care salesmen and TV preachers rate higher. More people approve of polygamy than approve of this worthless Congress. And --- when asked which party is to blame for this dysfunctional Congress --- Republicans win that contest by more than 2 to 1.
Truman ran against a do nothing Congress in 1948 and President Obama should do the same thing.
Few Americans have the opportunity to sit and discuss anything real with these candidates that are purely strangers - who we do not know if they have secret lives of any criminal past that was concealed by Washington and that is disturbing to me. In fact, I've seen some take excellent American citizens and destroy their character while publicly lying about their own.
Personally, I think most are charlatans, showmen, and even a hint of gangsta.
We do not know this person we elect every 4 years to rule over our nation.
Scary.
From this weeks "Economist"
"Nowadays, a candidate must believe not just some but all of the following things: that abortion should be illegal in all cases; that gay marriage must be banned even in states that want it; that the 12 million illegal immigrants, even those who have lived in America for decades, must all be sent home; that the 46 m people who lack health insurance have only themselves to blame; that global warming is a conspiracy; that any form of gun control is unconstitutional; that any form of tax increase must be vetoed, even if the increase is only the canceling of an expensive and market-distorting perk; that Israel can do no wrong and the "so-called Palestinians", to use Mr Gingrich's term, can do no right; that the Environmental Protection Agency the Department of Education and others whose names you do not have to remember, should be abolished. These fatwas......have stifled ideas, making the Republican Party the enemy of creative positions it once pioneered. The idea of requiring every American to carry health insurance (thus broadening the insurance pool and reducing costs) originated in the conservative Heritage Foundation as a response to Clinton-care, and was put into practice by then-Governor Romney in Massachusetts. All this Mr Romney has had to disavow, just as Mr. Gingrich has had to recant his ideas on climate change, while Rick Perry is still explaining his appalling laxity as governor of Texas in allowing the children of illegal immigrants to receive subsidised college education."
All these candidates have been around for quite a while and anyone of them would be better than Obama. I just read an article in my newspaper titled" Economists rate Obama "fair" or "Poor" on the economy. Written by Paul Wiseman and Dereck Kravitz AP Economic writers. Half of the 36 economist responded to the survey and 13 gave Obama a "POOR" mark and some "Fair" and NONE GOOD. Asked which Republican would do the best managing the economy TWO THIRDS named Romny-one for Newt. Allen Sinai, president of Decision Economics said Romny who ran business's would win "HANDS DOWN" over Obama. He said Romny's a "Technocrat NOT an Ideologue and has a history in the REAL world of business. Then I checked with a company called RESEARCH and they have the figures and dates of Obama's spending. Just a few: $45.1 TRILLION: Total Federal spending proposed by Obama's FY 2012 Budget through 2021 (OMB 9-1-11). $24.0 TRILLION-Projected Federal debt in 2021 due to Obama's spending. (The OMB 9-1-11) $15.1 TRILLION: Current debt U.S. Treasury Dept. Accessed 12-6-11. $9.1 Trillion: Amount's FY 2012 budget would add to the debt through FY2021 (OMB, 9-19-11) $2.6 TRILLION: True cost of Obamcare once fully implemented. (Office of the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Report: 1-6-11. $825 BILLION: Price tag of Obama's first Stimulus. CBO, 8-24-11. And on and on for THREE pages. Got to get this man out of there or we will be a THIRD WORLD Country!!!!!!!
Amy, I had to laugh. "kicked Herman Cain out?" HAHA!I believe he resigned after finding it increasingly difficult to explain to his wife why he never mentioned a woman he called regularly over 13 years and also helped monetarily over 13 years. If they were such good friends, why did the woman try to sabatoge him with the allegation of an affair? Unless of course they were having the affair. Don't feel bad for Herman Cain, feel bad for his poor wife! And by the way, I think this has been one of the most exciting caucuses ever with lead changes happening weekly and candidates with big ideas getting ready to challenge one of the most polarizing presidents in history. Come on Amy, won't your liberal bias at least allow you to acknowledge how exciting this is?
All this talk about Obama and the deficit is all very well understood by most ,i believe, but im not seeing much on Obama voting on NDAA here. I think before Obama's off the hook spending we should be talking about his blatant disregard for our civil liberties...remember people this was a man who was elected on a promise to close gitmo. Now if Obama would have his way he would fill it with Americans for indefinite periods of time. First bush and the patriot act and now Obama and NDAA. its time to get some civic rights back and get under the cover of the constitution before this neocon war machine strips us of all our liberties and enslaves us all to our lives in indentured servitude paying back this massive debt.
Powerball goes to 2 dollars: Pure Greed at its best!
Are all the people in Iowa backward right wing religious nuts ? There must be some normal people in that state. Well maybe not going by their track record. Glad I don't live in that hick state.
RON PAUL or bust.
Iowans...TURN OFF YOUR T.V. AND VOTE FOR A LEADER HOW HAS DEMONSTRATED AN ADHERENCE TO THE OATH.
Vote for what is right, not who others try to tell you is most presidential looking.
