One of the most prominent Iowa supporters of Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's presidential campaign jumped ship late Wednesday, announcing just days before the state's Jan. 3 caucus that he would instead back Texas Rep. Ron Paul.
Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson, one of three Iowa co-chairmen for Bachmann's campaign, made an appearance at a Veterans for Ron Paul event this evening where he endorsed the Texas congressman in Tuesday's caucuses.
Sorenson, in a statement distributed by Paul's campaign, said he had "an immense amount of respect" for Bachmann, but had essentially judged her to have fallen out of contention in the caucuses.
"I believe we have a clear choice here in Iowa and, I believe, across the country," he told NBC News in an interview after the event.
"All the recent polling is showing that Ron is in a neck and neck race with Mitt Romney. I believe that we have a real opportunity to elect a constitutional conservative."
Sorenson further characterized his decision as a "spur-of-the-moment" one.
Bachmann accused Sorenson of being a sell-out in a statement released Wednesday evening.
"Kent Sorenson personally told me he was offered a large sum of money to go to work for the Paul campaign," she said, accusing Paul of trying to stymie her campaign's momentum. "Kent said to me yesterday that 'everyone sells out in Iowa, why shouldn't I,' then he told me he would stay with our campaign. The Ron Paul campaign has to answer for its actions."
In a follow-up interview, Sorenson categorically denied having received any offer of compensation by Paul's campaign.
"Listen, that's absurd. Like I said before, people on this campaign supported me in my race. They worked tirelessly for me. They stuffed envelopes, they door knocked for me," he said. "I feel like I'm coming home to them."
While he hasn't been particularly busy on the campaign trail for the Minnesota congresswoman, Sorenson was missing from a Bachmann campaign stop this afternoon in Osceola, Iowa; he told NBC News at a subsequent event in Indianola that he hadn't been on the Bachmann trail earlier today because he was having a root canal. Both events preceded his appearance this evening with Paul.
The defection carries a degree of symbolic importance, however. Sorenson was one of the first people to join the Bachmann campaign outside of her DC and Minnesota staff. In fact, even before Bachmann made the final decision to get in the race, he was urging her to run. Sorenson was also involved when Bachmann's closest political advisers from Minnesota and D.C. bolted the campaign, saying they disagreed on Iowa strategy.
The news came after a new CNN/TIME poll released Wednesday showed Bachmann in last place, at nine percent among Republican likely caucus-goers, among Republicans actively competing in the Jan. 3 contest. Paul, by contrast, trailed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by just three points -- good enough for second place, and within the poll's margin of error.

HAHAHA!
The fleas are jumping off the dying dog...
*popcorn*???
Does this mean Marcus won't be our next First Lady?
Dayum!
Oh, I so wanted to see him in his silver platform shoes with sequins. And the silvery white v-neck formal!
"Dayum?"
As in: "Dayum, that was good coon tonite. Loved the gravy."
Rough day for the Girl with the Faraway Eyes...
It's so cute - the rabid little lefties all acting like they've never seen a presidential primary before. Of course it is filled with silliness, this is why they call it the silly season.
As for Presidential candidates, any of the remaining candidates are far more experienced than Obama, and none have the disastrous economic record that he is stuck with. Dr Paul has been true to his word regarding smaller government for decades, Mitt Romney has a track record of success, which yes, sometimes involves downsizing as he worked in the "real world", and former-speaker Gingrich successfully negotiated budget balancing policies with a Democrat President.
So all the name-calling aside, it will be interesting to see what character assassination Obama will attempt, as his economic record will doom him.
Obama attempt character assassination? That's a cottage industry of Republican operatives, and has been since Nixon's cronies invented it. Anything that Obama would possibly say just wouldn't have the rabid edge of the professional shouters of the Republicans.
Ahhh, the sweet dulcet sounds of the looney toon right wing. Soothes the heart of this Progressive. LOL
If her campaign chairman won't vote for her, well then,....who's left to vote for Ms Bachmann???
Let's take up a collection so she can at least have taxi fare home.
All right....all right,....bus fare.
Pass that Popcorn!
This just keeps getting better, and better, and better. LMAO
IMHO -- it's a great show isn't it?
Need any salt or butter on that popcorn, IMHO? I personally like mine extra salty.
Sally, want some popcorn?
First he works for Michele Bachmann, and now Ron Paul? Wow, what a leap that is. Not.
Ron Paul isn't going anywhere. He's lying about the newsletters. He knows full well who wrote them.
Bye bye Rep. Paul. May we never see you again once you're defeated.
You are a strange strange man. A con man.
Richmond Times Dispatch -
Richmond, VA: The state Republican Party will require voters to sign a loyalty oath in order to participate in the March 6 presidential primary.
Anyone who wants to vote must sign a form at the polling place pledging to support the eventual Republican nominee for president. Anyone who refuses to sign the pledge will be barred from voting.
*************************
This America, is Mitt Romney's party of 2012. Loyalty oaths or barred from voting.
Today's Republican Party.
And this isn't even a surprise considering the road the GOP has gone down the last 30 years.
Sorenson was missing from a Bachmann campaign stop this afternoon in Osceola, Iowa; he told NBC News at a subsequent event in Indianola that he hadn't been on the Bachmann trail earlier today because he was having a root canal.
Ha too funny I too would rather have a root canal than attend a Bachmann campaign event. You know this guy is slamming her big time, he could have just said he had a dental appointment. There is just no honor among thieves is there Michele.
A Root Canal!?!?! Even when my daughter was young and wanted to get out of a chore, she could come up with a better excuse!
The rats are deserting the sinking ship. Only problem Ron Pauls ship is the next to sink.
The GOP Clown Circus LMAO!
Bachmann is probably the next candidate to drop out, as soon as she looses big in Iowa..
Like the Energiser bunny, Dr Paul keeps going, going, and going.....
Egilman,
Won't miss Michelle, but I will miss that fun, dancing hubby of hers! LOL
Ron Paul 1896 !!
Bachmann.... Happy Trails to you.. Until you meet with Sarah Palin Again.....
Ron Paul - We'll be singing happy trails to you soon enough....
Romney - Keep on attacking Gingrich....
Gingrich - I sure hope you win the Republican nomination... I can't wait to watch Obama Kick Your A** in 2012.
It seems like she has a real problem keeping people on board. I know she has some crazy ideas, and no chance of winning - BUT there has to be some other kind of issue going on.
For some reason those people that really support her can't stay with her.
Ron Paul is off the wall !!
Ron Paul for Geritol !!
His positions on the ADA, saying he is against federal regulation, and that it is not working, at a a time when statistics show that we are safer because of it.Other comments he made also threw me for a loop. This man should not have his finger on the button, he might not use it, by the way he talks.
Underneath the Andy Griffith persona lies some detrimental stands to our national security, as he wishes to open up and expose the CIA,ie put the unsung heros in danger by exposing them and their ways, he must know national security trumps all, and at times the constitution.
Coral Taxi
So you are against the rule of Law and for military dictatorship?
What was that quote?
One of the most prominent Iowa supporters of Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's presidential campaign jumped ship late Wednesday
Sorenson is just fearing that he is not going to have a job next Saturday.
@ egilman; No sir, I am against the borderline treasonous words of Ron Paul, wanting to divulge our secrets. The conspiracy theories of our government.
I am not talking about giving up liberties, I am talking about the methods we(FBI,CIA) use against terrorism, that stretch the limits of our constitution, but keep us safe.
If Benjamin Franklin watched jetliners being flown into the twin towers killing thousands of his countrymen,I am betting he would feel the same way. (Keeping our methods secret of course)
What a slap in the face for all those that risk all to keep himself, and the reast of us safe, and tamping down the flames of terrorism. These words are borderline treason.
What he thinks is destroying the soul, is more of what preserves the soul of America, which is the unsung nameless heros who give all for intel that destroys our enemy and keeps them at bay.
Jesus has forsaken her.
First Tebow... now Bachmann... geez, who is next?
Paul F wrote: "Of course it is filled with silliness, this is why they call it the silly season." Never in my 60 years can I recall a GOP race filled with such clowns.
Newt - Broken moral compass
Romney - Bland flip flopper
Perry - Loser trying to learn the huckster trade from the clown sheriff from Arizona (who thinks Iowas is the Buckeye state), so he can pander to the right wing lunatic fringe.
Ron - doddering old GOP family uncle that nobody takes seriously
And to add to the drama, you've got The Donald in the wings contemplating running as an independent (moron)
@ wake up now;
What lies,name one?
There are things that keep us safe that are on a "need to know" basis, I would not call this lying, I would call it protecting individuals that are protecting you.
Give me one example of how any of these have PERSONALLY, affected you or your neighbor? How is it treason?
The ONLY for sure thing about this story is that it shows ALL tea bagging republican extremist are turn coats at any time for any reason. Besides the flip flops summer salts and hoyer lifts it would seem that jumping ship for an opportunists lean is simply par for the course. And that is not at all a sign of stability fortitude or leadership instead it is a sign of hypocrisy uncertainty and "vaclempt".
Truly a move applauded by tea bagging republican extremist in government alike. That one morning your fer it, and by afternoon yer agin it. ; ]
Cheers
I think they should all stay to the very end. They have done a better job of highlighting the deficiencies of the Republican party and it's ideas than the left could ever do.
Oh yeah, HOOKERS and HEROIN for everyone Ron Paul 2012
here's a few more for ya....

I think they are very prescient for today!
christ on a biscuit! nothing like watching republicans eat their young....
Coral Taxi must not like our Bill of Rights.
I couldn't have said it any better. (thumbs-up)
@ wake up now; You speak, but back up nothing you say with one example. Not saying you can not,but until you do it is just talk, insults of other candidates, not facts.
As you see I back up everything I say.You have not. Just hyperbole.
@ satan;
How do you figure that? You Paul supporters put out blanket statements all day long but never back them up.lol
To borrow Rick Perry's campaign slogan .... "OOPS!"
I'm not a Ron Paul supporter but I think he is spot on about a lot of issues. Some of his ideas are a little too bizarre for me though.
We lost the right to a speedy and fair trial by a jury of our peers. Our right to assemble is being held down and strong armed away from us by the police. Free speech is going bye bye. We lost protection from unreasonable search and seizure. The "Patriot" Act and the NDAA shredded the bill of rights. And SOPA is poised to do more wonders to it.
Coral Taxi -
The FBI apparently sells guns to Mexican drug cartels while the State Department and CIA are pushing to replace Central American countries' police force with military and private contractors.
In the 70's, in the name of "communism" instead of "terrorism", our CIA and Henry Kissinger helped overthrow the governments of Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and Brazil killing and disappearing several thousands. The real reason was that their social democracies were a hindrance to American multi-national corporations established there.
Nationalizing some foreign owned industries proved enough to warrant this. News this year, thanks to Wikileaks, is that the US embassy in Haiti suppressed a raise in wages in some manufacturing facilities. What is the over-arching principle in this? They are the poorest country in the western hemisphere!
'Wake Up Now', your posts (such as #1.36 above), are eerily similar to the confused, bizarre writings of "the Unibomber"!
You come across as an individual prone to motivated reasoning, cognitive dissonance and paranoia. I'm betting you aren't new to mental health treatment, or at least the suggestions by friends and relatives that you pursue treatment, right?
When has this happened ,never, you still fail to cite one example,do not tell me what someone could do,all your diatribe gives not one example. FAIL,.
Umm no,they lost their house becuase they could not pay their mortgage,or borrowed to much against their home, another fail. Ponzi scheme>>!lol, Really. Fail, What govt ponzi scheme??lol
Your joking right? You still fail to tell me one example of the patriot act affecting you personally, once again do not tell me what can happen, tell me what has.
Who are the traitors and who are the thieves, you write much but still say nothing.
So unless injustice affects someone personally it doesn't exist Coral Taxi?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn1WTP8ClvI
...and it goes on to this day.
Boy does this vine drive that point home.lol You Paul supporters words are very specious, I willl not be able to sleep tonight with my government trying to take my money, and my bill of rights.lol
@ satan; You as others just talk, but have no backbone or substance to your specious words.
I will leave you with this, the difference in us and other countries is that if you are heard railing on your president,or spouting your specious words you will not be thrown in jail, beaten, sent to a concentration camp, ie it does not matter if your government is listening too you or not, how they react to what you are saying is when your rights can be violated.
last time I checked I can say anything I want as long as it is not threatening or promotes violence, so all these conspiracy theories are bogus, and unsubstantiated.
Be AFRAID,BE VERY AFRAID.LOL yOUR GOVERNMANT IS COMING TO GET YOU.LOL
Unless you vote for Ron Paul
A vote for Paul,is avote for geritol.lol
Coral Taxi,
Here ya go.... (I don't usually respond to trolls but I will this one time)
Obama swore on national TV and in all the print media that if NDAA contained the provisions destroying the 6th amendment he would VETO it immediately, as soon as it hit his desk.
The actual truth, He very quietly signed it into law, and our wonderful media both TV and print, said NOTHING!
Hows that for a lie? Don't believe me here is the url;
www.politico.com/blogs/under-the-radar/2011/12/obama-pulls-veto-threat-on-defense-bill-107514.html
"You as others just talk, but have no backbone or substance to your specious words."
You caught me! I made everything up!
Feisty Red Head, jut a question, did hubby get the pipes cleaned? Jusf wondering...
You all do KNOW this man wears false eyebrow do you not? A tupe' is one thing but the brow? Indeed. Always in a new position. Always an attempt to shorten the forehead. An attempt at a false perception for others toward him. In fact one who is so openly falsifying his own appearance is undoubtedly hiding much.
A pitch in the wrong direction is an attempt at deception. Devious indeed . ;]
Cheers
@ u need to wake up now;
I have studied Ron Paul, and could post much more crazier things he has said than I have posted. Your last sentence is nonsensical, and proves you can cite no example of what you spout,ie more specious words from the Geritol supporters.
@ egilman; Sir ,I am hardly a troll, I mean what I say,and back up every bit of it, I am not about blanket statements.
Ron Pauls words are borderline treasonous, coming from a high profile politician.
He is o.k with Iran having nukes? This is your guy?lol This man should not have his finger on the button, much more scary, than anything you guys and gals have mentioned.
Coral Taxi,
Explain to me how Iran is going to deliver any weapons to the US? And, if they did manage to get one over here, how are they going to avoid the retaliation?
They might make a big hole in the ground, we will turn their country into a glass paved parking lot.
You think they do not know that? If they hit Israel, the same result WILL happen, you think they are that stupid?
You think they didn't observe what happened to the Taliban for only killing a few thousand? How their vaunted Russian and Chinese allies got the hell out of the way when we announced our intention to take them out?
Were you living in a cave all this time?
Our big mistake was not getting out when the job was DONE! NO we had to stay there and NATION BUILD!
WE DO NOT NEED TO BE OVER THERE!
Coral Taxi, you haven't backed up crap yet, spouted a lot of inflammatory rhetoric without one iota of proof.
I am done with you, I've been dealing with trolls since before the internet started, (for all those that remember the dial up bbs's) I think I can recognize trolls when I see them, and sir, you are acting just like one.
Bye, Bye
Nothing should be censored. Whether its sex, language or violence
I am voting for Ron Paul!
Bachmann, Turn Her Overdrive, ha ha, another rat deserts a sinking ship, and the hits just keep coming, the Tpubs traveling medicine show replete with snake oil con men and women. Gonna have to get one of those huge movie house popcorn machine's to get through this bad movie. See ya, Bachmann. Next.
Im voting for Ron Paul too!! if we can get the money grubbers to let go of their pot of gold (entitlements) mabey the life raft wont sink
Coral Taxi is either CIA, DHS, Works for CNN, MNSBC, Fox News and/or represents the Military Industrial Complex. I don't understand why peace is such a crazy/unelectable stance. The world has never been more ready for the sort of equilibrium that would result from America ceasing it's globalist agenda of policing the world. The most important democratic freedoms are protected by the ability to speak our minds politically, religiously, and on social issues. The sorts of people that hate Ron Paul hate personal freedom. Take a good hard look at politicians that aim to censor the internet, destroy civil liberties, expand corporate influence, and clamor for wars of choice; these are the people that hate freedom. They are both Democrats and Republicans equally.
Coral Taxi is a shining example of what the corporate controlled media has done to the good people of America. Turn off the TV!
Another feather in the cap for Ron Paul.
Tough loss for Bachmann.
I'm starting to think the Paul campaign is really picking up momentum.
Oh, I just hit the ignore button on coral taxi. It doesn't even speak English, it uses translation software. Don't waste your time.
@ egilman;
Oh really which part? What have I said that is not true? Stilll you speak as others, but do not cite one example of my "rhetoric" I have backed up every word.
You guys can talk all day long but back up nothing, all you do is rail on the government with blanket statements that have no backbone, and talk about what could be,and not what is.lol
@ joedribble;I hate noone, I just do not want a conspiracy theorist in the whitehouse, or someone who wants to deregulate federal regulations, and allow our enemy nukes, unabated. You guys railing on my freedom of choice, and my opinions have shown, that it is your way or the highway , quite hypocritical of all you, doncha think?
Specious words, that is all you deliver.
@ jungleboogie; Yes as most Paul supporters ignore the truth. My words ring true as they have hit many nerves on this vine. You also bust on me but do not cite one thing I have said that is not true.
But here I will give you much more truth, to bad you will not see it.lol
This is one of the coldest statements I have ever heard from A presidential candidate. How he came back I do not know.
The ADA, should have never passed ? WOW Now see below how wrong he was. about private property rights.
Studies have shown, however, that businesses have adapted to the ADA much
more easily - and inexpensively - than the doomsayers predicted. Some have even
made money by making accommodations. Law Professor Peter Blanck of the
University of Iowa has studied business compliance with the ADA, including Sears
Roebuck and many other large businesses, and found that compliance was often as
easy as raising or lowering a desk, installing a ramp, or modifying a dress
code. Another survey found that three-quarters of all changes cost less than
$100.
Yeh Ron, lets go back to the 60s and 70s where the hanicapped were just warehoused, what an ignorant position to be against the ADA, in the above paragraph,it shows how wrong he is about private property rights
This is your guy?, see I do not just rant, I give the problem with what he says, then give EXAMPLE of how wrong he was,and is.
All you Paulers have are theories, and what could happen, and I must be against peace and the bill of rights because I do not agree with you, very hypocritical. lol
@ joedribblets;
Please tell me which politician wishes this, what an ignorant statement, as most on this vine you are reaching for straws, you speak, but do not back it up,now name the one who wishes to censor the internet, and take your liberties, this sounds more like you guys, railing against my opinion. lol
As the other day you Paulers were collapsing statements about Geripaul,on the "how air conditioning and raw milk could hurt Ron Paul"article.,that did not violate the COH, I believe that is the kettle calling the pot black, sir. See statement, then example to back it up, try it sometime.
Here is a good comparison to the Paulers, I shall quote chicken little.
"The sky is falling!!the sky is falling!!"
Guess what, it was not. Just like your govt is not out ot get you. This is why we have checks and balances, and a new administration every 8 yrs, so the things you spout can not come to pass.
Get a clue Paulers, really check out the man you are backing.
Well...not a surprising move for the low information/low I.Q. paranoid teabaggers. They are like flies...When the dog feces gets old, dries up and turns white, they go off to land on a fresh pile. Bachmann is dried up...Paul is fresh.
@wake up: You do realize that the CIA is monitoring everything you are writing here, right? You'd better turn off all electrical devices, cover your windows with tin foil and hide in a corner.
@ shocked; Glad someone brought the tin foil in, they need it something fierce.lol
Somethins happenin here
what it is aint exactly clear.
One more war guys, all we need is one more war. What are you government bootlickers going to say about Ron Paul when America is beyond broke? Oh wait, we already are. 1 in 2 Americans are poor, each American family owes the government of China around $40,000, the government you geniuses worship spends 40% more than it takes in. Our civil liberties are being destroyed by fat-cats in D.C. that get their campaign money from foreign corporations. What part of these facts is OK with you? If you are an American Coral Taxi, you should be tried with treason.
Nice Alwaysanother,
Nothing like facts and objectivity to keep the liberal socialists' mouths SHUT.
Notice we hear nothing but crickets chirping... A beautiful sound.
Yes indeed,
Coral Taxi, Republicants, John B, and Feisty Redhead seem to be the usual culprits in disseminating the typical liberal pseudo-intellectualism we find in this forum. Usually their debate-style consists of straw man arguments that are easily destroyed with facts, and then when they have been backed into a corner, the personal insults usually start to fly...always a sure sign that the lib has lost the argument and is now in desperation mode.
It is fun to watch them act like the vetting process of the GOP candidates is so much fun, when this is really a smoke screen for the fact that their annointed one has deserted nearly every campaign promise he ever made while piling on unprecedented debt, 32 straight months of 8% or higher unemployment, and massive polarization. They hate that he cannot run on his record of failure, so Obama and the libs only option is to run a negative attack-style campaign with the 1 billion dollars Obama will raise from all of his crony bundlers...
The next year is going to be fun to watch...
Bachmann and Perry, Anyone think that they probably went to the same school as well as bible study classes??? They both seem to have the the same educational background...
Scary to think that they are running for the highest office in the land... Only thing scarier is there are people that will/could vote for them
No, what is scary is the 2008 election, when so many people voted for an inexperienced politician who had never even completed a single term for any political office in his life, and whom voters knew so very little about, but still voted for him.... THAT IS SCARY.
Speaking of school, what were Obama's grades in college? What was his final GPA at Occidental? What was his final GPA at Columbia? What classes did he take at Occidental? What classes did he take at Columbia? How did he get into Harvard, the most selective Law school in the world, when Columbia said that he did not graduate with honors, meaning he had a 3.3 or lower GPA?? This when people with 4.0s routinely get rejected from Harvard. Hmm....So what were Obama's final grades in Law school? What was his final GPA at Harvard?? Did you like his thesis? Did you read it? Oh, you didnt? No one has. No one knows his grades, no one knows his GPA, no one knows what classes he took, no one knows anything about his educational background BECAUSE HE REFUSES TO RELEASE IT. Yet, idiots like you voted for him because....oh yeah, like Joe Biden said "because he is so clean and articulate"....for a black man (which is what he meant). LOL!!!! You dems are the most hypocritical bunch EVER.
Talk about scary.
alwaysanother - Nice cut and paste. Did you get that from some chain mail your aunt sent you or from World Net Daily or a post on FreeRepublic?
Mostly drivel - So I'll just dispute the first line with some facts and let everyone decide the validity of the rest:
Misleading at best because gas prices were at a record high in 2008. How do I know? Because I was alive and driving a car during that time.. also there's this thing called 'google' and you can do research on subjects like this.. You see, I just don't believe something in an email sent to me by my grandma (who's actually dead)
Gas prices in 2008 (before Obama took office - maybe you should look that up too):
http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/08/news/economy/gas_prices/
http://zfacts.com/p/35.html
http://news.consumerreports.org/cars/2008/06/gas-prices-4.html
If you look at the high of $4.00 a gallon in May 2008, gas prices have actually gone down during Obama's administration.
Important Note here: I don't blame gas prices or the economy on Bush or Obama. There very little presidents can do to control gas prices or the economy. It would be terrible if one man had such power. But you can blame everything you want on Obama if you want to.. I really don't care what you think. But if you're going to post something you found on NewsMax, full of misleading statements, half truths and lies, maybe you can cite your sources.
Monkey,
you are right. The president, essentially, even though he does implement an agenda, is merely a figurehead that signs or vetos legislation. We can all agree that it is CONGRESS that is responsible for the actual passage of laws and the policy implementations of any administration.
That being said, if you were to do any research on your own, you would find that DEMOCRATS have controlled Congress by a VERY LARGE margin over the last 50 years....AND HERE WE ARE. Heck, Democrats have had majority control of Congress since 2007. THANKS DEMS. As a matter of fact, the ONLY time that Republicans have had full control of the HOUSE AND SENATE over the last 40 years....Hmmm...what happened then???? Oh yeah, we had four straight years of a balanced budget and a government surplus (under Clinton, who was forced to tag along).
So, remember Monkey, the half-truth is more palatable and harder to discern, especially when spooned with the syrup of scholarly prose.
Always
If you look at the links Monkey posted you will see that in 2008 New York was over $4.00/gal.
So at $3.89 they have gone down since Obama has been president.
One thing is certain, that "$1.79 on average" price you gave for 2008 was a FLAT OUT LIE.
I would give just as much credence to the rest of your copy and paste.
Why the need to lie? Certainly Obama has faults, why do you need to push the made up ones?
JOregon,
Before you go calling anyone's post "A FLAT OUT LIE" like you did above, you might actually want to do the research yourself, to prevent yourself from looking so foolish again (YOU TOO, MONKEY). If you would actually look it up, you will find numerous independent sources that will place the average cost of gasoline in Dec of 2008 between $1.78 and $1.82 PER GALLON. Ouch, eh? See, you and MONKEY represent the massive pseudo-intellectuals that exist on the left. You desperately want to believe what your ideology and MSNBC spoon-feeds you, so you are willing to blind yourself to the facts that anyone can find in 60 seconds. But know, you would rather be lazy and hurl insults, not do the research yourself, and call people liars. This is typical of the left when confronted with those darn facts, eh?
And note: this is directly BEFORE OBAMA TAKES OVER THE PRESIDENCY, ONE MONTH LATER.
Why the need to lie? Certainly Obama has his faults, why do you need to push more lies for him?
National retail fuel price averages
Price
Change from last week
Regular gasoline/gallon
$1.81
↓ .08
Diesel fuel/gallon
$2.62
↓ .05
So you say.
Why not point us to those sites? It is real easy to place a link in your post.
I did post the link, I have no idea why it did not show up when I hit "post comment." I didnt just randomly make up the above information.
Anyways, it was from h ttp:news.consumerreports.org/cars/2008/12/gas-prices.html.
There are several sites that one finds through Google when simply typing "price of gasoline December 2008." Stop being lazy. If you had bothered to attempt to look up gas prices of 2008 (instead of hurling insults and looking foolish), you would have found exactly what I have found (and obviously others have found).
(sigh)
You are the one that quit and left you are so wrong, you got served at every corner. My words are the last on all our posts, check it. I dont get in "huffs" if you would of stuck around you would of seen how I explained to you that this is entertainment to me,and not something that gets me roiled. As you thought you had done, so do not sit here and say I ran because I do not, you sir are the one that could not answer to one single challenge not me.
That alone shows you are not telling the truth.
I back up every thing ,all you do is insult, obviuosly you did not take my words to heart when I asked you to quit hating.
You are in serious denial.
How is that sir once again you rail, but say nothing give example of why I should be charged with treason.lol Explain yourself.lol
You still have not given one example of the politicians that want to "censor the internet", and "take your civil liberties"
You and always wrong are just full of blanket statements, and insults, look at my all my post, each cite example,or reason behind what I say. Now I am waiting dribblets one example, one politician. or more if you can name them.
Congratulations Roanoke, you've managed perfect execution of the Conservative technique of cherry picking ONE data point that we're supposed to take as representative of the entire time period. From your own link;
That would make the price $3.07 in December of 2007. Looking here http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=EMM_EPM0_PTE_NUS_DPG&f=W you can see that the price actually peaked at $4.164 the week of 7/14/2008!
Now that I've looked it up myself I'll politely ask, were you wrong or lying?
The fact is SOPA is being pushed along without any consultation from people who actually no the consequences and repercussions. I don't understand it and Coral DF Taxi probably doesn't either but if it was so imperative, and yet controversial, we probably should expect a clearer explanation. What comes to mind is how Paypal can out-of-nowhere cancel online donations.
"The measure effectively grants private companies the ability to de-fund websites
they allege to be trafficking in unauthorized copyright and trademark goods. The
latest version requires a judge's signature to order ad networks and banks to
stop doing business with a site "dedicated" to infringing activities."
http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/12/sopa-stalls/
I can donate to a charity of my choice but the intermediary can cancel or retain the funds at will by their definition of "infringement"? Thats what I gather, and here is an article discussing this as well.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/andygreenberg/2011/12/06/on-the-anniversary-of-cutting-off-wikileaks-paypal-slaps-christmas-charity/
It sounds like an "infringement" on civil liberties by Lamar Smith if that is indeed how it works.
Roanoke
Sorry your link doesn't work.
I even fixed the h ttp: to http:.
Since those would have been incredibly low prices I am sure there must be some other web site that carries that information.
John,
As usual, what are you talking about. Are you saying that during the year of 2008, that gasoline was never the price I listed it as? I cherry picked nothing. Bottom line, as the link shows, gasoline, in Dec of 2008, right BEFORE Obama took office, on average, was under $2. Nuff said, you can try all the semantics and spin you want. It's way too transparent...
Roan
Could you try your link again.
According to Consumer Reports that page cannot be found.
Yes, as of the week you listed the price of gas was falling rapidly...because we were nearing the trough of the worst recession since the Great Depression and demand had collapsed.
Do you really want to celebrate that sort of "success"?
Then again I suppose you would...wealthy elites were continuing to prosper through the recession while the middle class watched their security draining away.
JOregon,
I am not sure what the issue is with the link, YET NOTICE JOHN B HAD NO PROBLEM ACCESSING IT, as he informs us above. And notice, John B admits that gas was exactly what I stated it was.
That was my point, you were calling people FLAT OUT LIARS, when what the previous poster said about gas prices in Dec of 2008 WAS COMPLETELY TRUE. Nuff said.
Roan
Probably was a membership thing then.
I will apologize for the "Flat Out LIE" (Not Liar) comment on the word of another poster that collaborates your price.
He also points out the reason for that price which still makes it a less than honest USE of that price.
Nuff Said
@ always wrong, and joedribletts; Just as I thought, all bark and no bite. And "always wrong" I went back and checked all our back and forths and you were seriously embarrased on them,I had the last word on all of them, how do you say I left in a huff?lol Here is the post you missed sir, at the end.
Oh wait a minute that was not the end,go look, someone who has friends in SK,and has been there 22 times backed up what I was saying, and I responded, that was actually the end. You sir are the one that left in a huff, and are obviously stilll carrying a chip.lol
The other post you used information I showed you in our "debate"(hard to call it that with you) to prove the points you argued with me the day before(on my side, none the less))lol I pointed it out(gave example) and you sir went on your way, Why do you have to make such stuff up on me,do not be mad just because you were proven wrong,or lost an argument, we all do. so what, you live you learn
Also your diatribe derails are outrageous. Please learn to stay on point, and not write a novel.lol
Most of all.....
Quit hatin!!!
JOre,
You still are calling facts "less than honest." Again, NO. The facts are the facts. The FACT is that the month before Obama took office, gas was under 2$ a gallon. That is the fact. Gas is now almost DOUBLE that price. That is also a FACT. Those are the only two points I was making. We can argue and debate everything in the middle of that time period, why gas skyrocketed, the issues of the world, inflation, all kinds of things. Certainly they are up for rigorous debate. My point, this entire time, was to call you out for calling another poster's comments a "flat out lie" when they so obviously weren't.
Nuff said.
Roan
It is less than honest because the reason for them being low were related to a bad economy.
You can spin it anyway you want but the President doesn't set gas prices.
A less than honest statistic because it is used improperly.
NUFFFFFFFFFF said
Why all of this ridiculous discussion about fuel prices, when the person whom occupies the Oval Office -- in a free market economy -- is entirely irrelevant to the price per gallon?
Price controls have not been implemented in the past 35 years, not even by the current president (despite the Right wing conspiracy theories to the contrary).
Embargo has not been implemented against US imports since the Reagan Administration.
And new exploration permits and new drilling leases under the current president have continued at the same or greater pace than during the presidency of George W. Bush; the only exception being the temporary -- now lifted -- moratorium on deep-water drilling in the Gulf of Mexico following the BP spill (an action which all but the most partisan and cynical should agree was prudent.
The price of fuel is a result of free markets. Isn't allowing free markets to operate unimpeded by government one of the basic tenets of the Republican Party?
So, .... what's your problem, and how can any serious thinking person direct blame for fuel prices at the occupant of the Oval Office if that person has allowed the free markets to ... do their thing, without interference?
I suggest all of you members of the "I hate Obama, tin-foil hat society" invent another conspiracy theory to push for awhile. This one is tired and lacks even basic plausibility.
Boy you Oregon boys stick together, eh?
So, Robert, Again, if any of you libs out there actually read the thread before getting your panties in a bunch, you would see that JOre decided to call another poster's comment a "flat out lie" when the poster stated, CORRECTLY, the prices of gasoline in 2008 to today. Personally, I never blamed Obama for the rise in gasoline prices, I merely called out another poster for hurling insults and accusing another poster of lying, when it was JOre who was incorrect. These are facts. The price of gasoline was a fact, even if JOre wants to engage in semantics and justifications (while erroneously calling another poster a liar, essentially). The original poster merely claimed that this is just one financial entity, of many, that have gone up in cost since Obama became president. That is all that was said, and notice, out of the massive amount of examples the original poster specifies, you libs just chose one to attempt to derail (but you fail).
Robert, you are wrong to CLAIM that a president and his economic agenda, decisions, and implementations do not affect gasonline prices in America, though.
But, since you mentioned oil and drilling under Obama and the moratorium, here is some fun information. And remember, Obama kept the moratorium in place for a little over a year, nearly one-third of his presidency. You speak of a free market, but we do not have a free market. With the Fed setting standards and printing money out of thin air, to the massive federal regulations in the oil industry, (hundreds of them by this administration), all of these things hamper the free market economy and contribute to rising domestic energy costs. It's not that hard to understand, for us thinking people...LOL!
(CNSNews.com) – At least 13,000 jobs have been lost since last summer’s moratorium on offshore oil production, surpassing projected job losses in a 2010 study by thousands, according to the Louisiana State University professor who authored the study.
Joseph Mason, author of “The Economic Cost of a Moratorium on Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration to the Gulf Region,” estimated that the new regional job losses due to the moratorium on offshore oil production in the Gulf region is now 13,000 – up from his original estimate of 8,000.--notice how this is just job losses from the Gulf region, not national figures
Mason also estimated the national job losses to have increased from 12,000 to 19,000; regional wage losses to be $800 million, up from $500 million; national wage losses to be $1.1 billion, up from $700 million; lost tax revenues on the state and local level to be $155 million, up from $100 million; and lost tax revenues on the national level to be $350 million, up from $200 million."---so you see, thousands of lost jobs, millions upon millions in lost revenue, a reduction in domestic oil production, all thus effecting the cost of gasoline and creating further dependence on expensive foreign oil. DUHHHH!!
And More: "Ten oil rigs have left the Gulf of Mexico since the Obama Administration imposed a moratorium on deepwater oil and gas drilling in May 2010, according to documentation obtained from Sen. David Vitter’s (R-La.) office.
The ten rigs named in the document are: Marinas, Discover Americas, Ocean Endeavor, Ocean Confidence, Stena Forth, Clyde Bourdeaux, Ensco 8503, Deep Ocean Clarion, Discover Spirit, and Amirante. The rigs have left the Gulf for locations in Egypt, Congo, French Guiana, Liberia, Nigeria and Brazil.
“This highlights the problem we have with losing domestic energy production as a result of the drilling moratorium and the slow permitting,” David Kreutzer, a research fellow in Energy Economics and Climate Change at the Heritage Foundation, said. “We must also keep in mind that the impacts are not instantaneous, the rigs may be idle for a while, but once they move it’s going to be difficult to move them back once they are drilling in say Nigeria or Brazil. The oil companies must have confidence they can move forward with their drilling plans and to know these plans won’t be revoked. Only certainty will bring them back.”
“I look at the large businesses to undertake making investments that could help spur economic growth, Don Briggs, president of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association (LOGA), laments. But unfortunately, even before the 10 rigs cited in the document from Vitter’s office pulled out, eight other planned rigs diverted overseas because of the moratorium."
So, you see, it would appear you need to do a little more research before coming to the defense of posters calling others liars (while being proven without a doubt that they were wrong), while also making blanket statements filled with half-truths while questioning the intelligence of those who actually know what they are talking about...
Robert, you say: "So, .... what's your problem, and how can any serious thinking person direct blame for fuel prices at the occupant of the Oval Office if that person has allowed the free markets to ... do their thing, without interference?"
Seriously? Do you follow current events or keep track of what Obama even says about the free market? If so , you would not be making such comments...either that or you are simply lying.
These comments are from Obama, in his campaign speech in Kansas, on Dec 6...LESS THAN ONE MONTH AGO, on a true free market: “It doesn’t work. It’s never worked. It didn’t work when it was tried in the decade before the Great Depression. It’s not what led to the incredible post-war boom of the 50s and 60s. And it didn’t work when we tried it during the last decade.”
Yikes, eh? So much for your blanket claim and assertion that "the occupant of the Oval Office if that person has allowed the free markets to ... do their thing, without interference?" and then you preface your remark with, "So, what's your problem?"
WOW. Do you see the massive contradictions that happen when you make uniformed statements. You see, I, and many others like myself, actually pay attention to what the president says in his speeches. I am not enthralled with his acumen and blown away by his supposed intellect and taken aback by his amazing ability as an orator (remember Joe Biden saying "just look at em', he's so clean and articulate" LOL). We all knew he was not an advocate of the free market, his policy decisions as president have not shown that, and in the speech in Kansas he comes right out and says it. Yet, here I am, being called a whiner, essentially, by an uniformed liberal who is telling me that the president is and has been a free market-guy and is allowing the market to run it's course. Yet, the man just said a month ago that "IT DOESN'T WORK." Unbelievable. Just...WOW.
(sigh)
Roan
Not going to waste a bunch of time reading your novel.
Just read the beginning then I guess ADD must have kicked in.
Twisting the truth is still a lie.
What do you need to know except that Roanoke cherry picked the lowest price point in 2008 and disingenuously used it to imply that the 2008 price was lower than the present price? Then he ignored the fact that the fall in energy prices was caused by a disastrous economy, the result of 3 decades of Supply Side economic dominance.
After that there's no point in arguing with him.
JOre and John B,
HAHA! I love it. The lib who got caught calling other poster's liars, gets destroyed by the facts, then gets shown EVEN MORE objectivity, and simply runs with his tail tucked between his legs...after leaving two more false claims and lies. This happens every time, same to you John B. Just back the libs into a corner with the facts, then watch them say things like "oh, well he's just not worth arguing with" or "ADD must have kicked it" etc etc. This is always the victory sign...when the libs just dismiss your facts and start calling names. Thanks for playing guys, this has been fun, and your concession is duly noted. LOL!
@ROwajoke; I spottted my name in your post and you could not be more wrong, when you say this.lol
Straw style arguments? pick one thing that is a"straw man argument"in my posts. Show me one insult, do not count the play on your names I have done that for awhile, more of a rib than a true insult,so show me where I was backed into a corner, and started insults.Show one example, good luck.lol
I insult no one sir, people mistake being shown how wrong and ignorant they are as insults. Isee it all the time.
Do not write a diatribe, just pick one point where I am wrong, and say why.Do not digress. I back up everything I say! If you write a novel I will ignore it.
Go ahead sir destroy away, I did not know I was disseminating anything.lol. I usually do not even post much on politics, lately I have because Paul is such an easy target.lol
As dribbletts and always wrong, you say alot about me but do not back it up with fact,or example.lol
Now run away as they have.
@ rowajoke; It took me all of 1 minute to see how hypocritcal you are, In this post you rail on someone for using insults all the while your post to him is full of insults toward him.lol Wow, take a look in the mirror sir,I will tell you as I have told many others before you,"those that live in glass houses should not throw stones" it only ends up in your embarrasment.
#167.10 - Sat Dec 31, 2011 11:13 AM EST
Now show me my insults,I have made, you will not because I do not insult sir,I just show and prove. Now who has their tail between their legs sir? Run away now.
nuff said.lol
Waaay late to the game Coral Taxi,
Please spare me. Your end of the silly post is just desperation. You pull from another conversation, one in which I had been insulted, and one in which the other poster was espousing the destruction of Israel. So, sorry, when someone gets anti-Semitic, as you libs usually do, I make exceptions when it comes to insults. Notice, how in this particular conversation with JORe, and ROBERT FROM OREGON, and JOHN B, they have never personally insulted me, so I did not personally insult them either. That's how it works. I never said that I did not engage in trash talking or insults. If you are going to engage in insults, like my post says above, you should at least not be lazy and back up your post with fact, too. I merely enjoying returning it when it is directed at me from pseudo-intellectual liberals like yourself and other posters on this thread. Nice attempt on cherry picking insults from another conversation with other posters. But, alas, lets look at some of your insults, from this very thread and conversation, merely from scrolling up and looking at your comments. Of course, you spew this above:"Now show me my insults I have made, you will not because I do not insult sir"
Coral Taxi= "A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Geritol."
"Here is a good comparison to the Paulers, I shall quote chicken little. The sky is falling!!the sky is falling!!"
"As the other day you Paulers were collapsing statements about Geripaul..."
"what an ignorant position to be against the ADA..."
"...what an ignorant statement, as most on this vine you are reaching for straws..."
"Glad someone brought the tin foil in, they need it something fierce.lol"---Yeah, so you see, you absolutely NEVER use insults or subjectivity. Nothing but fierce adherence to the facts and pure objectivity from you, Carol Taxi. Hypocrisy is strong with you, yes?
This last on is not an insult, but just the sheer insanity made me post it again. "My words ring true as they have hit many nerves on this vine..." -----LOL, how hypocritical of you, eh? You merely perpetuate your own stink by patting yourself on the back by claiming your words are right because they have "hit many nerves on this vine." Well, if that is the barometer of having truth, as in how many people whose nerve you hit, I guess I should feel completely vindicated. I have been all over this post for days, involved in many different conversations with many different posters. I guess that automatically makes me the most truthful guy on this thread, since I have hit on so many nerves. HA! Thanks Taxi! LOL!! Do you see how silly your statements are???
As for running away, I never do. I have many more posts on this thread than you do. You are the one that shows up randomly to spew some tripe only to disappear for a day or two...So, yeah, just more false accusations from another lib... Let me know when your head stops spinning, take Tylenol for any headaches.
Nuff said. LOL.
Roanie
#1 I am not a liberal.
I did not vote for Obama last time. I was prepared to vote McCain until I looked into his running mate. I decided Palin should NEVER be in line for the presidency and chose not to vote at all. I believe time has shown my appraisal of Palin to be RIGHT ON THE MONEY.
This time I am prepared to vote Obama. Not because I think he has done a good job, but because I recognize the Republicans have cared more about fighting him than they have cared about the welfare of this Nation.
The only other candidate I would consider would be Huntsman, and he will never get the nomination.
If you think you won some kind of victory simply by posting an overly long, boring, and pointless post I'll let you gloat in your delusion.
Roanoke1, I have read the rest of your posts in this thread, including the two which are filled with personal insults and directed at me, personally (although I have not written a single word, ever, directed to you personally).
I have concluded that you are either very full of yourself (inasmuch as your posts are filled with dismissal of others and their opinions, arrogance and condescension), or you are just a 'troll' whom gets his/her jollies out of stirring things up in hopes of making others apoplectic.
Since Newsvine apparently doesn't take issue with your manner of addressing others, I am gratified that they have at least provided us the "Ignore this Author" option.
So, with a mouse click I bid you adieu (forever).
'Roanoke1' used (out of context) the following passage from a speech by President Obama in Osawatomie, Kansas on December 6, and suggested the passage was an argument by Mr. Obama AGAINST free markets and a free market econoimy.
The passage was nothing of the kind, and either 'Roanoke1' knew he/she was using the passage out of context (to support his/her own opinion about Mr. Obama) or had not personally read the entire text of the speech ... and judged the passage to be something it was not. Mr. Obama was in fact taking issue with current Republican economic theory and supply-side "trickle-down economics, not free markets.
In fact, in the speech Mr. Obama actually said:
"You see, this isn’t the first time America has faced this choice. At the turn of the last century, when a nation of farmers was transitioning to become the world’s industrial giant, we had to decide: would we settle for a country where most of the new railroads and factories were controlled by a few giant monopolies that kept prices high and wages low? Would we allow our citizens and even our children to work ungodly hours in conditions that were unsafe and unsanitary? Would we restrict education to the privileged few? Because some people thought massive inequality and exploitation was just the price of progress.
Theodore Roosevelt disagreed. He was the Republican son of a wealthy family. He praised what the titans of industry had done to create jobs and grow the economy. He believed then what we know is true today: that the free market is the greatest force for economic progress in human history. It’s led to a prosperity and standard of living unmatched by the rest of the world.
But Roosevelt also knew that the free market has never been a free license to take whatever you want from whoever you can. It only works when there are rules of the road to ensure that competition is fair, open, and honest."
Here is the entire text of the speech. 'Roanoke1' I suggest, as others here have, that you try arguing with truths. You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/president-obamas-economic-speech-in-osawatomie-kans/2011/12/06/gIQAVhe6ZO_story.html
Robert, GEEZ, do you libs live in reality here? Why make things up, play the martyr, when the proof I need to show you as a liar is just a few clicks above...in your previous posts. Robert, I noticed you didnt cut and paste my personal insults to you on this thread, or anything else that you claim. You came into this thread just a few posts ago. Your initial post to me, our very first discussion, you used insults. This was before you and I had ever had a discussion. Here is some of your very first post, from above. "
"So, .... what's your problem, and how can any serious thinking person direct blame for fuel prices at the occupant of the Oval Office if that person has allowed the free markets to ... do their thing, without interference?
I suggest all of you members of the "I hate Obama, tin-foil hat society" invent another conspiracy theory to push for awhile."
So you see, before I had ever spoken to you at all, you are attacking my post with insults and questioning my ability to think. So, I gladly return the favor. What do you not understand about this?? Just the facts guys, just the facts... but it's so weak to play the victim when it was you who started things down that road. Plus, I went through and re-read my posts to you. None of them use personal insults other than to call you a liberal, which you obviously are and do not deny. Since when did liberal become a dirty word?
Cheers, and...thicker skin. Oh, and on the ignore button thingy. It shows how weak you really are in that you went and tattled on me. Who does that? Are we in elementary school here? Sheesh. Either way, your concession is duly noted. Another one bites the dust.
Robert, again, you call others liars when you don't know the facts yourself. Did you even see or read the speech by Obama? I watched it, and I have read the transcripts. I took nothing out of context, I merely used the words right from Obama's mouth. Quit playing semantics and trying to weasel out of it when our own president's words prove my point. Did Obama NOT say EXACTLY what I posted?
Obama: "Now, it's a simple theory. And we have to admit, it's one that speaks to our rugged individualism and our healthy skepticism of too much government. That's in America's DNA. And that theory fits well on a bumper sticker. (Laughter.) But here's the problem: It doesn't work. It has never worked. (Applause.) It didn't work when it was tried in the decade before the Great Depression. It's not what led to the incredible postwar booms of the '50s and '60s. And it didn't work when we tried it during the last decade.(Applause.) I mean, understand, it's not as if we haven't tried this theory." ------This is Obama talking about a less regulated, free market economy. What do you not understand about this? Stop playing literary games Robert, and then accusing others of taking things out of context. You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to twist the words that came right out of Obama's mouth, no matter how hard you try to justify his remarks. I used these remarks in response to JORe saying that Obama is allowing the market to operate completely free, with no regulation.
Oh, and by the way, ol' Teddy Roosevelt when on to lose...
And Robert, we do not have a free market economy today. We practice Keynesian economics, which is a mixture of free market economy, massive governmental regulations, and government infused taxpayer funded stimulus dollars while also allowing the Federal Reserve to print trillions in unbacked paper money(which causes inflation and downgrades our dollar), and having massive government funded, taxpayer backed big-business bailouts in which the government chooses the winners and losers (with taxpayer funds). There is nothing fair about that. There is nothing "free" about that. Please read and learn more...we are nowhere near a free market economy, so let's stop the games.
JOre,
You are more than welcome to vote for whomever you please. That is not my concern, I could care less who you vote for.
But, If you are all for high unemployment, no job creation, higher prices for virtually every commodity, a president who does not lead, a president who has played more golf in 3 years than GWB did in 8, a president who promised to run the most transparent administration in history only to have your own uber-lib and White House Press Corps Head Helen Thomas excoriate him for his massive amount of control and complete lack of transparency, if you want a president that continues to kick the can down the road (payroll tax), continue creating unprecedented debt, creating a political environment that has led to the most polarized America in a long time and given rise to two movements (TP and OWS), a president who refused to release his long-form birth certificate for two years, a president who still refuses to release any of his college transcripts, or graduate transcripts, or thesis, a president who has overseen massive corruption from his relationships to Tony Rezko (now in prison) to Blago (now in prison) or to other corruption like Solyndra ($500 million gone) and MF Global and Jeff Corzine (Obama's buddy), to Operation Fast and Furious and Eric Holder, to a corrupt DOJ that doesn't try black panthers accused of voter intimidation, to a president who uses divisive and polarizing language and class warfare in his speeches after promising to be a great divider, to a president with a weak foreign policy that is going to allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, to a president who broke his promises on the DOMA, Gitmo, military tribunals and many others...the list goes on and on... and those are just the things I can think of off the top of my head. If you want 4 more years of that, by all means, please, vote Obama. At least you know what you will be getting.
@ rowajoke; Those are not personal attacks on anyone, just comments in general.so fail. Hardly insultive in the way you are. You said I was backed into a corner and started insulting, did not happen so fail.
Your attacks are on individuals,my sarcasm on the Paulers is not insultive, nor is saying the sky is falling. You attack individuals, and then berate them for it. so fail, and you coud nt help but write a novel again.fail again
You are fighting a losing battle sir,the ones you are debating have outed you and your specious words.lol I only came at you because you came at me. I am not part of your debate here. so fail again.
Nice Coral,
I totally show your hypocrisy, with the words right in front of your face, where you personally make fun of Ron Paul (thus Ron Paul voters), call his positions ignorant (thus his voters must be ignorant), accuse "Paulers" of conjuring up chicken little conspiracy theories (thus questioning the intellect of Paul's voter base), and finally calling other poster's statements "ignorant." Those are personal insults, Coral. You can play semantics and literary games if you want (as so many of you on this thread have attempted) but those are the words out of your mouth. You can't make claims of not using insults or being insulting when you use the language that you do...that is just pure hypocrisy. So...fail.
You obviously have a reading problem, since you keep complaining about the length of my posts. No post of mine takes more than a minute or two to finish reading, if you can read at a decent pace. I guess it makes your head spin when so many different points are made, one after the other, disproving your half-truths and other innuendo. Notice how you never actually debate real points, if so, please support your assertion that others have outed me in anything. I have merely disproven, with words from all of you, every thing you have claimed...It's been fun. So, fail again.
'Coral Taxi', you might try just using the "Ignore This Author" button, as I have. All of 'Roanoke1's posts are now beautifully collapsed, forever -- no necessity to even look at that incivility, nor peruse those 'borderline/tin-foil hat fringe manifestos'.
And, as a result, this entire discussion thread is magically transformed into the realm of civility and reason!
Hail, Hail the "MUTE" button!!! :)
Happy New Year!
Robert,
HAHA! Again, your concession is noted. Thanks for playing. Now, tuck that tail and run. I don't blame you for shielding yourself from the truth or opposing arguments. It makes it that much easier to blindly follow in lockstep your own spoon-fed ideology.
Aaaand another one down...
Roanie
I could address all your points but it would be pointless.
Just one.
The Birth certificate:
Legally there is NO LONG form available according to the State of Hawaii.
The ONLY LEGAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE IS THE ONE RELEASED.
http://factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/birth_certificate_6.jpg
Notice at the bottom where it says:
"This copy serves as a prima facie evidence of the birth in any court proceeding [HRS 338-13(b), 338-19]
prima facie = plain or clear; self-evident; obvious.
Obama can't release what he cannot supply. Nor can anyone else supply a long form today if they were born in Hawaii.
The rest of your post is equally absurd and not worth commenting on.
Anyone that thinks there is a birth issue is simply too far out there to discuss any thing rationally.
Response to post #1.68 by 'alwaysanother', who copied and pasted a widely circulated chain e-mail which has also been posted on numerous right wing websites in the past six weeks:

...and here's some additional response to post #1.68:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2011/oct/28/chain-email/chain-e-mail-claims-obama-first-president-terminat/
An unfortunate trend is developing in the United States, that the truth doesn't matter. Just spread the lies in a scattergun approach and influence with deception, and hide behind the Bill of Rights. Well THIS American believes in freedom of speech, but also believes that with freedoms comes responsibilities.
My grandfather, an immigrant and tennant farmer had more common sense wisdom than any person I have known. When I was a child he said to me "If a person needs to tell lies to make their point, then they have no point to make."
You perpetuaters of lies are entitled to make up your own minds, of course, but you are not entitled to make up your own facts.
And any person who perpetuates lies by spreading them is no better than the originator of those lies.
Robert
Great job on exposing the chain letter for what it is.
Nope,
More lies from you libs. If Obama had already released his birth certificate from the start....then what was that thingy he just released last year, after Trump started calling him out in the media??? Hmmm??? If the same birth certificate had already been released all along, BEFORE Obama's presidency, THEN WHAT WAS THE NEW CERTIFICATE THAT WAS RELEASED LAST YEAR? See how obtuse you libs are???
You guys are truly sad, that you refuse to look at the facts for what they are. He never would have released anything last year if his birth certificate had already been released all along. Stop with your lies, they are soo transparent. Anyone who chooses not to look at the evidence, while calling other posters liars, should never be taken seriously in any discussion.
And Robert has already proven his cowardice. He has admitted that he tried to tattle on me=coward. Then he tucks tail and runs and ignores a poster who systematically destroys his arguments, also=coward. Its fun exposing you libs for what you really are. Robert certainly represents your base, cowards who tune out any opposing view and just call opposing viewpoints lies. LOL!!! You libs are great.
@ jo and robert; Good call on "always another" he post the same diatribes like 3 to 5 times on the same post at times,I guess he wants to make sure everybody sees it.lol There are other things but as long as he leaves me alone I will reciprocate. They both digress, and insult to no end.
@ rowajoke; Not the same sir, those are just general ribs not personal attacks on other viners. You know exactly what I mean. Those comments are sattire, and in fun,not mean attacks and name calling on one individual, such as yours.Fail again.(viners know I am just poking fun) Notice the lol after most of them.
Just apologize and try to do better in the future. I have been put in my place plenty over the years, but not by insult,by facts that proved me wrong,I took it like a man, and chalked it up to a learning experience. ie
Get over yourself sir.
@always wrong; Quit hatin.
Coral shows her hypocrisy again,
Its okay for her to do it, but not other posters. Or, other posters on the vine know she is kidding, so its okay if she uses insults. Her name-calling was not against an individual, even though I pasted examples of just that, or "I knew what she meant" so its not an insult. Or, her comments are just satire...so they dont count. Wow, what a long list of excuses that highlight hypocrisy. Considering the newsource of this vine and the political leanings of most of the posters on this vine, I am not surprised at all. LOL.
@rowajoke; I looked at your post on me and did not see any personal attack on a viner such as yours. People say "oral taxi" "carol taxi" sandtrich's"oral taxation" it is all in fun,or ribbing during a debate, as I call him sandwich, big dif in your attacks, this does not bother me,as long as it is not said in anger or hate.
Get it.
Show me where I attack an individual viner? That is not my style,I do attack with facts and reason, not insult, and derails.
@ roanoke; oh I must commend you for a nice short to the point post, albiet right or wrong,it is something I can easily respond to.
Coral,
I see, so its okay to use juvenile-style insults like making fun of someone's name...just nothing else. I mean, I dont see the point in arguing with you. You claim not to use insults. I paste several instances of you doing just that, then you resort to semantics and splitting hairs, trying to put a seperation between your STYLE of insulting and mine. But, still, it's MY style that is so wrong. LOL! Your hypocrisy knows no bounds...At least I admit it and dont try to play literary games. You are just being intentionally hypocritical... But, considering your political persuasion, I can't say that I am surprised...
Oh and Coral,
I am glad you were pleased with the length of my post (wink-wink). I guess sometimes ya just have to dumb it down a little bit, eh?
@ roanoke; Yes sir thank you for dumbing it down for me,now let me do the same for you. But you failed to cite one individual personal attack I made on a viner.
You can be deragotaory,mean,digressive,long winded.
I can be sattirical, and rib, poke fun, in an innocent manner. And get my point across.
See the dif, much better responding to your post now than your novels earlier. People will respect what you say more if you use more tact, when I rib someone, I probably make them laugh at themselves,or me ,the same way I do when I am ribbed about whatever I am wrong about.
You just cant help yourself can you sir.lol
Coral,
We will just have to agree to disagree. I still think you are quite hypocritical, splitting hairs in regards to insults and ribbing style and such. It's all the same, for the most part. The majority of your post is still completely subjective and just your opinion, which I do not agree with. But, oh well.
"am glad you were pleased with the length of my post (wink-wink). I guess sometimes ya just have to dumb it down a little bit, eh?
You just cant help yourself can you sir.lol"
Hey, how else was I supposed to phrase it? At least you have a sense of humor...I was thinking that I was going to 'femi-Nazied' for that one....
@ roanoke; Here is a fresh example sir(of me being ribbed for my opinion),should I go into a diatribe on this guy, he is ribbing me but the ribbing is relevant.
This is funny, even though I do not know what clozapine is, I imagine some kind of phsycotropic drug.My come back will be, yes I saw George Burns last night at the end of my bed,he said to tell you hi.lol
Hope he is old enough to get the joke.lol But I will not rail into him in a derragotry manner. This just strengthens my resolve to respond.
If everyone agreed with me this would not be much fun,and I would probably never learn anthying.
So agreeing to disagree is alright with me.
"Bachmann's Iowa Chair"
The 1st thing that comes to mind,,, Is that the one with the leather straps on the arms & legs?
2nd thing is,,, What is that thing sticking up out of the middle of it & why is it plugged in?
Ask Marcus...he'll know.
Marcus will have to take off his long, dangling diamond earrings to hear you.
If I was someone who was a registered Republican waiting for all this to shake out, I would be so embarrassed. How can anyone takes these so called candidates seriously or consider voting for any of them.
But, Gingerbread Mamma, think of all the fun we are having watching them have to suck it up and pick a candidate!
Phine & Ginger,,, You two wanna snuggle with a warm fuzzy woodland creature?
Bugsy, you are such a CARD!!!! (Blowing kisses at you)
Gingerbread Mamma
Republicans are not embarrassed Conservatives are to stupid to be embarrassed Look they don't believe in science they deny evolution, they deny global warming, they are against stem cell research these are the same group who would tell you the world is flat and the universe revolves around the earth. When you deal with a Conservative you are dealing with an ignoramus and there are a lot of them.
2nd thing is,,, What is that thing sticking up out of the middle of it & why is it plugged in?
I can answer both those questions - Dick Cheney
Forrest,
You owe me a monitor clean up! LOL!!!!!!
The Greedy Old Pie eaters could save themselves a lot of time and money if they simply engaged in a Round Robin battle of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock to determine the nominee.
Its actually been a lot more fun watching the Democrats stumble around for the last 3 years trying to fix the economy. From broken promises, to failed policies, Obama and his 57 states and Corpse-man comments, to his constantly getting the state that he is in wrong, from Biden's constant gaffes("rape and murder will go up across the land if we dont pass this bill", and "look at Obama, he's so clean and articulate" for a black man, geez, etc), to corruption like Solyndra and MF Global, and all of Obama's corrupt little buddies from Corzine to Rezko(now in prison) to Blago (now in prison) to Wiener...who...showed...his...wiener... LOL, to William Jefferson who faces 13 years in prison, to Rangel who was the first member censored in decades, to David Wu who resigned after his sex scandal, to Jack Murtha and Chris Dodd's finance violations, LOL!!! From Geithner the tax cheat, to Holder the liar, to Helen Thomas the jew-hater, it just goes on and on. It's been one big circus, and it's fun to watch! I hope it continues right up to 2012, when the people vote out these clowns. LOL!!
Thanks for all the change though, it's been great!
always, the study you're misrepresenting is this one; http://publicmind.fdu.edu/2011/knowless/
It says;
http://articles.nydailynews.com/2011-11-22/news/30431182_1_fox-news-results-show-viewers
Nice try.
But you don't deny that no one is less informed than a Fox viewer.
Some of the resident right-wing wackos actually want you to believe that this freakish-thing called the 2012 (R) / Tea Bag Prez hopeful Clown Show are merely conservatives *still re-inventing themselves* since Bush ... LOL !
I wonder what you'll call the tea partiers when the country's dollar collapses because nobody in Washington has an appetite to control spending.
RON PAUL 2012
dave, what will you do if Ron Paul were by some miracle electable and rapidly shrunk the economy by 17% with his radical budget cuts? The Great Depression would look like a clam bake.
Well, Paulie has an (R) before his name ... 'nuff said.
Ron Paul is a Kook His crazy ideas would cause nothing but anarchy and a depression the man doesn't know what he is yammering on about just a lot of BS that sounds good to the suckers who follow him and are gullible enough to believe these simplistic solutions to complicated problems
Dave - I'm sure you didn't watch Lawrence O'Donnell tonight - however - it was a clip of Ron Paul running down the hallway from a set-up interview - yelling "the guy is queer" he started to take his pants off - QUEER! Haven't heard that label in a long time
Lot's of Homophobic Racists have jobs.
I'm from Louisiana and I can tell you that after Katrina left town, Government failed. FEMA was walking around like a bunch of clueless paper pushers fresh out of college. Swamp people with the means to actually rescue all those blacks were threatend to be arrested if they dared to intervene. So they were all sent home. Thousands of boats and fishermen. Evidently, someone wanted some drama for the news cameras.
And what about the Oil Spill? Again, people with the ability and means to clean it up quickly were threatened by "Government" to stay out of the way so that the Pros could come down and form committies to "asses the situtation". And it only took them 5 months.
And recently? Oh, just the usual. 2000 assault rifles handed over to Mexican criminals by who? Paul and his supporters? Nope. OWS Protesters? Nope. Al Queda? Nope. KKK? Nope. Iran? Nadda. That would be Pres Obama, A.G. Eric Holder and the good old Government again.
Enjoy your fantasy. But down here, no one is buying Washington's lies anymore. Paul 2012
I saw that Obummer wants to raise the dept ceiling over one trillion more! I see riots and the country comeing apart so i dont know why your knocking the one man who wants to get spending under control. Its like all the obama supporters are on something.
By the time the elections are here anyone well be able to beat obummer.
You apparently aren't Black, Poor, or Gay. Those are the people that Paul won't be helping - OH and people like me that have put into Social Security.
Paul wants the US to declare Bankruptcy so that the Government doesn't have to pay back what it has borrowed.
Is that really a good precedent? Borrow like mad then just declare bankruptcy instead of paying your debts?
His News Letters tell what kind of person he is - Sick in the head.
Hey JOregon, Ron Paul is the largest supporter of personal freedoms, keeping the federal government out of your business. Black, gay, female, poor, or anything else! Its up to you and your state to deal with that!
That is not Personal freedom.
That is giving freedom to the Corporation to discriminate against others.
Paul is a homophobic, racist, antisemitic, white supremacist that is smart enough to fly under the radar. His newsletters show him for what he is.
No, the Tea Party Movement is an astroturf movement bankrolled by wealthy elites with a pro-corporate, anarcho-capitalist agenda. The whole thing, right from the famous "Chicago Tea Party" rant on CNBC was a con that the Conservative sheeple have followed without question.
John B is a typical liberal know-nothing,
notice how he does not go on to discuss the values of the tea party (because he has never cared enough to research it), which are two basic principles...fiscal responsibility (of which you libs know nothing) and a smaller government. Oh no!! The horror!!! Fiscal responsibility and smaller government?!?!? We can't have that! That would mean the government and all our liberal friends wouldnt be able to line their pockets as much, which is what they do...notice how federal employees have been given RAISES WHILE WE ARE IN A RECESSION while also producing massive amounts of fraud and duplicitous programs, to further create MORE government jobs and CREATE MORE dependency on the government.
Certainly John and libs have a much better movement going...Occupy Wall Street. I mean, its so much more American to take over a public park from other law-abiding citizens, affect local businesses, poop and urinate in the street, live in tents while doing drugs, raping women, assaulting police officers, banging on the drums, creating mounds of trash while ruining the park, and making incoherent demands and bitching about what taxpayers owe you is certainly the best way to go about things. LOL!!! What fools, and John, you are right there with them. Liberalism DOES NOT WORK. IT has failed this country for 50 years.
John, what are you doing on a computer?? Don't you have a park to be pooping in right now because you are pissed off about your life...? LOL!
So you're OK with an astroturf movement bankrolled by wealthy elites with a pro-corporate, anarcho-capitalist agenda.
It's a pretty distinct minority since the Tea Party is less popular than atheism or Islam, and with an approval rating FAR lower than the Occupy movement. Looks like most people prefer their grass to have roots rather than big money under the surface.
Thanks for your ad hominem attack. I always take that as a great compliment as it's clear evidence of people who feel threatened and need to inflame an argument rather than undertake intelligent discussion.
John, here are some examples of you having an intelligent, objective discussion:
"dave, what will you do if Ron Paul were by some miracle electable and rapidly shrunk the economy by 17% with his radical budget cuts? The Great Depression would look like a clam bake."
"No, the Tea Party Movement is an astroturf movement bankrolled by wealthy elites with a pro-corporate, anarcho-capitalist agenda. The whole thing, right from the famous "Chicago Tea Party" rant on CNBC was a con that the Conservative sheeple have followed without question."
"But you don't deny that no one is less informed than a Fox viewer."
Sooo....LOL!!! You libs are SOO hypocritical. Thanks for your intelligent and objective talking points, John. LOL! Just...wow.
Oh, and as for you claims about the Tea Party being essentially irrelevant. Yeah, you are right, the 2010 midterms ushered in the largest Republican midterm victory since WWII! Thanks Tea Party! (and thanks to liberals and Obama who created it).
As for your self-perpetuated compliment on my 'ad hominem' attack....Hey, it's not my fault that the base of your party has decided to show it's true colors by 'occupying' all over the country after 3 years of Obama's failures. Those are your "kind" of people not mine. I'll take less government, greater fiscal responsibility, and personal accountability over pooping in parks and assaulting cops and whining any day. But that's just me...
HA HA HO HO HE HE the right is in such disarray - there is no hope righties. You are going to looooooooooose big. This current circus is the best you clowns have to offer? The whole world is laughing at you!
Maybe...but I will never be making the weekly trek to my mailbox looking for my loser check....like you!
Oh, lighten up, wealthy guy. Just picture good old Marcus dressed up like Jackie Kennedy at JFK's inaugural. Put a smile on the old kisser.
@WANNABEWealthyGuy you won't make the weekly trek to your mailbox looking for your loser check because you live in a trailer park and don't have a mailbox. And the only check I get is the one I work for - and then immediately donate to pro-choice groups, Democratic party candidates and any other liberal organization that will help to defeat you traitors on the right. Have a nice night.
phine,
That would be one hell of a 'doo now wouldn't it? (would probably look good in the A-line dress though)
Egilman,
Don't forget the earrings!!!! He must have the long, diamond earrings!
And the pearl necklace, we got to make sure he does it right!
Absolutley! How could I have forgotten the pearls?????? Guess it must be because I am up Way to late for a 5:30 am riser. Think I will mosey on off to bed, visions of not-to-be first man dancing in my head.
Keep 'em honest here on FR tonight, Egilman! I'm depending on you!
Bad move, it's obvious she's going to be our next President.
Whew, managed to get it out w/o falling into hysterics :)
Why fall into hysterics? She is going to be our next president. Getting rid of Sorenson is proof that she is serious. Why keep a 50 per center? Get loyal people on the team, and get rid of the 50 % bunch. Support Michele Bachmann. Join a local Tea Party group. Get with it. Learn. Yes, learn. And don't send comments to be published in any name but your own. All of this pseudonom is tiresome. What's your real name? Otherwise, shut up. These little cutesy names are ridiculous. Hiding behind a phony name is proof that you aren't worth hearing from. Either use your real names, or leave us alone. We don't want to hear from you. You have nothing to offer. Where in the world did anyone of you get the idea that it was alright to say anything you wanted to say as long as it's "anonymous?" And while I'm at it, you are all the rudest, meanest, stuck on yourselves people in the whole world.
Gordon Levy: Two things:
1-*Yawn*
2-*Gut-busting laugh at everything you just babbled*
Didn't we already have this conversation elsewhere? I guess you'd prefer to run from the finding of Fairleigh Dickinson that NO ONE is less informed than a Fox News viewer;
http://articles.nydailynews.com/2011-11-22/news/30431182_1_fox-news-results-show-viewers
Your condescension is most entertaining, since you use it to dissuade others from what you pretend to be an academic comment when instead you're misrepresenting the data to state that Liberals are people of limited intelligence. I believe you'll find that huge numbers of Conservatives avoid any other than Conservative news sources and talk radio. It's a standard Conservative talking point in fact, that the "Liberal media" is not to be trusted.
Sorry about that broken window, friend, but after all your entire house is made of glass.
I know, be nice... The old guy needs all the help he can get.. Ron Paul is the Rip Van Winkle of Big Government who the lighting of electioneering just woke up after a 35 year long sleep
You mean he has been awake all this time?
Just keep an eye on her. For all of her rants about "socialism" she'll soon be at the Federal Trough for more farm subsidy for her "family farm" and her "Pray Away the Gay" business headed up by hubby Marcus. The self-described non-politican (although she's held one political office or another since 2001) can't seem to do anything else but collect a paycheck from the federal government. Too bad she's such an inept non-politicain. Her district gets nothing from Michele but evangelical blather and made-up facts, depending on who she passed in the hall. Pathetic (as are all of her Republican running mates).
Like most here ...at the "Federal Trough"...sucking off the gov't teat?
Ok, wealthy dude, how sure are you of your facts? You know each and every person's economic status? Wow! Wanna do Vegas since you are so all knowing?
Or is it just possible you wish you were wealthy and YOU are getting the "government handouts"?
So typical...don't be a jerk. Why would I do that? Would you? Eh, probably.
I couldn't care less about the 99%, or you. And alot of others don't either!
I come here to get my rocks off reading about you have-nots. Its simply orgasmic!
And if you REALLY think its going to change, well, as Mr T said: "I pity the fool."
Wealthy, you shouldn't be so angry. I'm sure you'll get a job and move out of your mommy's basement some day.
Maybe poor old wealthy dude needs some more cheetohs. Not our fault that the right has such "entertaining" candidates. (And they are a hoot!)
I'll go to Vegas with you Phine as soon as my next welfare check arrives and I sell my food-stamps!
Ha Happy Now Wealthy guy!
Forrest,
Can we see the Elvis impersonators? Pleeeze!
Forrest & phine,
Actually, since he is getting off and it is so "orgasmic" for him, he must be fantasizing over suckling on that government "Teat"
He's just jealous..... ;-0)
Egilman,
LOL! I have about a dozen responses for that, but somewhere, deep down inside, I hear my mother telling me to be a lady! (Which, I am sure the wealthy one dreams about - a real live one, and not his blow up doll).
Apparently Palin is going rogue in Iowa known as *Sarah Palin's Iowa Earthquake* ... still time for wealthy guy ta'git some'a that Palin teat ... only a hundred grand ... LOL !
Don't worry Phine if I get enough booze in me I might try to turn into an Elvis impersonator!
I just thought of one of the funny things that happened on one of our trips to Vegas. Years ago Mrs. Grump and I were in a restaurant in Vegas and I asked our young waitress to bring us a bottle of Champagne because we are celebrating, this girl says "oh what are you celebrating?" (Mrs. Grump hates it when I do things like this) and I said "I just got out of prison" this girl says "really! why were you in jail?" and I said "I murdered my first wife so I could marry her" (pointing to Mrs. Grump) and this girl actually says "aw that is so sweet" I almost fell out of my chair because this girl was serious, Mrs Grump just shook her head and stared at both of us wondering who was the bigger idiot me or this young waitress.
I can relate to that Forrest, my father in law was like that, he was always good for one of those "what the hell just happened" moments. I really miss him...
You described it right Egilman I was being silly and wound up wondering myself what the hell just happened.
And the cannibalization of the Republican party continues. Nice to see them turn their venom on each other for a change.
Just the TP doing what they do best.
This whole Iowa campaign is looking more and more like a big joke. I can't believe sane people are even trying to win Iowa -- all, except Huntsman, who is sane!
The "party elders" need to take back control of their own party, regard the primaries as nonbonding directive, and choose their candidate in a smoke-filled room. It is their right to do so, and further, it is the only way to suppress the "mischief" vote.
looks like you still need to study more.. Ron Paul 2012
It looks like former Obama employee Jon Huntsman was pressuring China to impose harsher economic sanctions on Iran while his family's company Huntsman Corp. was selling WEAPONS GRADE MISSILE MATERIAL to Iran!
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0611/57259.html

This is the man who recently said he would advocate a ground invasion of Iran to keep them from becoming a nuclear power!
Ron Paul 2012
Quick someone I'm out of popcorn.
Got a fresh batch coming!!!! Don't forget, after Iowa we all get to go to New Hampshire! WHEEEEEE
Sioux City, IA is the home of several popcorn warehouses - but even they may not have enough for the show we are about to see.
Great idea,,,, Hire someone who worked for a failed campaign
Remember, "mud" spelled backwards is "dum".. What an ebezzle! What an ultramaroon!
Bedeep, bedeep, bedeep "That's all Folks"
Wish I could be paid to betray the TP/GOP like the GOP campaign chairmen are. What sort of money do they get? How can I apply for that job? I can jump ship with the best of them. Whoops, the best of them isn't saying much.
PS PASS THAT DARN POPCORN!
Sorry, IMHO, someone will have to make a new batch. Marcus Bachmann fell off his platform shoes and knocked the bowl over. (He was staring at the sequins on them)
@IMHO: betraying another org or person for more money is probably considered a positive character trait in TPLand.
One thing we have (re)learned from this race:
Bachmann + AnySituation = Drama
When is the next debate? In need of a few laughs. Make that a lot of laughs.
A future press conference we will hopefully never see:
Reporter: "President Paul, what are we to do about the Iranians blocking off the Strait of Hormuz?"
Paul: "Well it's their right. I we had never been over there perhaps they wouldn't hate us and would not have decided to block the waterway. Plus since I've withdrawn every American Fleet from foreign waters and American troop from bases abroad we cant do anything anyway."
Why is Paul in the GOP primary again? What Republican positions does he hold?
whats wrong with our own power plants and oil fields? would you beat up your neighbors for some sugar too or just get your own.. I dont know why people support foreign policy that they would never condone at home
The clown car will officially leave for Des Moine at 5am. Ron Paul will be driving and Rick Perry will ride shotgun............................ Unless of course they change their minds........................................again
If Mitt wins I might as well vote for Obama like I did last time because they are two shades of the same politician. ......with Paul we stand a chance to reclaim this country. It's going to be rough but we'll come out stronger and freedom strengthen in the end.
Poor michelle - her ship continues to sink. The good news is, there's going to be one less BAD candidate to pick from soon!
I swear, you couldn't have a mechanical bull ride that would be any more exciting than watching these GOPers. Wouldn't you love to see these candidates in a room with a stack of cream pies? Newt would problably eat his, however, instead of throw 'em. Wonder what's next? Wait, isn't it Rick Santorum's time in the box? New flavor of the month coming up ... RS in a velvet lemon-lime with a jalapeno pepper popper in the middle ... the whole GOP in meltdown.
MacNFries-
As exciting as a mechanical bull ride and as connected to reality! As for the increasing possibilities of any of these Bozos (my deepest apologies to nonpolitical and noncriminal practitioners of the clowning art) actually getting to be elevated to general-election candidacy for the one whose finger is on the Big Red Button as opposed to the Big Red Horn-Bulb, well, there just isn't enough popcorn in the world.
I'm not sure any republican candidate will be able to beat Obama next November if this kind of stuff keeps happening.
Tomorrows headline.............FLASH....FLASH.... Bachmann jumps ship and signs on with the Palin Campaign in the hopes of a VP slot. Whata gal LOL.
None of this matters. Not a single one of these Iowa clowns -- not Bachmann, Gingrich, Paul, Perry -- none of them stands a chance of beating Obama in the general election.
Are any of them from Iowa? I'd have to see a birth certificate
Looks like anyone could beat Obama,he is so bad i thought fondley of Hilary.
you should stop drinking the coolaid and learn to think for yourself.. Ron Paul 2012

The closest any of these clowns will get to the Whitehouse will be the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Ave.
Pennsylvania Ave.? ---- Those folks are still looking for Nemo
Obviously the only thing that needs to be said is, "Bwahahahahahahahahahahaaa!"
Let's all pray that Bachmann's constituents in Minnesota have the smarts to "bolt" from her in the next election.
If Obama is such an evil, muslim, communist, socialist,Kenyon, then why does the gop offer up nothing but nuts to try and defeat him? Crazy.
Multip,,,,, That's like asking why did they put the south so far north?
They are martians, it's the only explanation
