With six days to go until the Iowa caucus, the gloves are off. NBC's Mark Murray and Domenico Montanaro discuss the brawl in Iowa as the GOP candidates sharpen their political attacks.
I don't know what the residency requirements for Nebraska are, but Kerrey's been a New Yorker for 20 years, unless he's kept a house and votes there. Who knows... Any reasonable individual (who can't be bought) would be better than Nelson.
Conventional wisdom is claiming that the seat will go to a republican in heavily republican Nebraska. That is why he seemed like a sellout, he had to get re-elected in republicanland....
I would actually like to see a moderate there, a libertarian would be best but we can't have everything now can we....;-0)
No it doesn't mean nothing because you seen he was willing to help vote down bills that didn't help him because he wants a President to give him something for his signature and this President refused to play the games of buying votes that have been done over the many years that I have been interested in politics.
JG, You must not have been interested in politics very long. Otherwise you would not have forgotten the biggest vote buying scheme in history with the passing of Obamacare. Cornhusker Kickback, Louisiana Purchase, and the Florida Flim Flam where for some reason, only Florida Seniors get to keep the Medicare Advantage plan. Landrieu in Louisiana bragged about how she got 300,000 million to buy her vote which was the 60th vote needed.
I think Nelson and Leiberman should go out with Mitt (or whatever his first name is these days) on the ol' campaign trail. I don't think any of them somna-beeshes know WHAT party they want to be a part of.
Sorry I was late to the Calista hair-do-bashing party on the earlier thread. Looks to me like she's truing to look like some kind of giant, mutant pistacio nut. Except, of course, I've never seen one of those lil' nuts look so damned pi**ed-off and annoyed all the time. But then again, look who she has to share the nut can with....
Lieberman is retiring at the end of 2012. Among those rumored to be considering a run for the office:
D: Susan Bysiewicz (former Connecticut Secretary of State), Chris Murphy (US Representative, CT-5) and William Tong (State Representative, 147th District)
R: Linda McMahon (lost 2010 Senate election), Michael Fedele (former Lieutenant Governor), Christopher Shays (former US Representative, CT-4) and Rob Simmons (former US Representative, CT-2)
Mark and Domenico - Not to be picky or anything, but your "First Read Minute" is actually more like a minute and 46 seconds. Do you guys use the same clock they used in all those debates? :)
So long Nelson - thanks for making room for another tea party republican and getting us ever closer to a filibuster proof senate for Mitt. With that, we can undo the havoc caused by obamabots.
I expect the Republican tigers to sharpen their talons against each other so their champion can go out and disembowel Obama in the Presidential debates. Just play acting now.
This Nelson character is just another low-rent Dizzy Dem. He should be thankful he is not sharing a cell with Blago, or looking for a job like Weiner, or facing lawsuits like Edwards.
More good riddance to Democratic trash. Go join Dodd and Frank.
Moses was 80 years old when he lead the children of Israel out of the wilderness. Age is more a sign of wisdom. Dr. Paul swims every day rides a bike 3 times a week and is in very good health. How about YOU?
And those bicycle rides usually go 20 or more miles, how many of you guys can ride a bike 20 miles just once a week?
And another thing, Every year the House and Senate have a baseball game in one of the local WA DC stadiums, in the history of the game, Dr Paul is the only one to ever hit a ball out of the stadium, again how many of you guys have hit a baseball out of any stadium?
Nelson's decision is of so little consequence to the future of the Democratic party it is hardly worth the space to post this article. Nelson has in fact once at least saved the Democratic majority by not accepting a position offered him and having a Republican appointed to take his seat, that is true but the way he has voted recently has turned some Democrats against him. Probably a sufficient number to have defeated him if he ran thus in fact his departure gives Dems a chance to find a candidate to run although it is highly doubtful any Dem can take this seat.
The GNOP is going to miss him more than the Democrats... that's for sure! ;o)
Feisty,
Ain't that the truth!!! Any chance (me, hoping anyways) Bob Kerrey reconsiders and runs again?

Nelson retirement is good news!! Maybe we can get real Democrat in office
Off what use was he?

When is Leiberman up for reelection?
Oh, and love the nut can analogy!
...giant, mutant pistachio nut...hehehe

"Can you smell what the Rock is cookin"
GO LINDA!
Yeah, because 2010 worked out so well for her...
Richard Blumenthal (D) - 636,040 - 55.2%
Linda McMahon (R) - 498,341 - 43.2%
Looks like the voters in Connecticut had two words for her...
yep, Connecticut is pretty liberal, solidly democrat. I know I was born there...

You mean the clock that ran faster for some candidates than for others? (or, was it the other way around?) ;-0)

Healthwise, I think he's doing fine!
