A 2006 memo penned by Newt Gingrich praised the health reform law Mitt Romney piloted as governor of Massachusetts, and threatens to undercut the former House speaker's criticism of that plan.
A memo (first unearthed Tuesday by the Wall Street Journal) distributed through Gingrich's Center for Health Transformation credits Romney and his state's health reform law as a positive development.
"The most exciting development of the past few weeks is what has been happening up in Massachusetts. The health bill that Governor Romney signed into law this month has tremendous potential to effect major change in the American health system," Gingrich wrote. "We agree entirely with Governor Romney and Massachusetts legislators that our goal should be 100 percent insurance coverage for all Americans."
That would seemingly temper Gingrich's criticism of the Massachusetts plan as the "forerunner of Obamacare."
Gingrich has similarly criticized the individual mandate contained both in Romney and President Obama's health reforms, despite having supported a similar model for health reform in the 1990s. He's since disavowed such a plan.

Newt Gingrich does not know what side to take on healthcare.
Ron Paul has had consistent policy positions from the start. The other candidates simply say what the voters want to hear. Ron Paul warned us about the housing bubble, the debt crisis, the collapse of the US dollar, the high employment and recessions; basically, the entire collapse of our economy. He is the only candidate who can get us out of our mess.
Ron Paul is a man who defends the constitution, civil liberties, peace and prosperity. Paul has the wisdom, foresight, honesty and integrity to be president.
Mitt Romney does not where he stands on any issue; Michelle Bachmann is just very angry; Rick Perry does not know very much; John Huntsman has worked for Democrats for many years; Rick Santorum is an extremist; and Newt Gingrich is philosophically unanchored, an unstable element, whom as Peggy Noonan, former Reagan speechwriter writes is a “human hand grenade who walks around with his hand on the pin, saying, Watch this!”.

Remember back to 2004, when the Bush camp slammed Kerry for being a flip-flopper? Now, it seems the GOP field is full of them. Newt liked Romney's health care plan in 2006, but now he's against it. Romney was pro-choice when he was Governor of MA, now he's against abortion. Perry's views seem to change by the second, at least they change depending on what group he's talking to. Bachmann's views, well they depend on what voice in her head is talking the loudest that particular day. You know, this is really funny. Where does the GOP find these nutbars?
Gingrich was for and against a lot of things until he found out what the ones who fund republican campaigns wanted to hear. Gingrich is as corrupt as they come, he'll support anything as long as its backers pay him!

In case people do not know about them is the theory that that rich get richer and those down the line will benefit. That type of economics is what caused the the first stock market crash in 1929 as well the most most recent crash.We do not need that DUMB LARD ASS Newt to be in the white house EVER.
Seems to me "concerned veteran" has it pretty much exactly right. For any of those out there that did not live through the 'Reagan' years as I did it's an easy thing to look back through rose colored glasses without noticing how everything that Ronnie and his super rich buddies did has continued to come back and haunt us over and over again.
When you say to every industry don't worry just do whatever you want and there won't be any repercussion from the gov't agencies who are supposed to be watching out for the average American. The best current example we have is the Republican "Great Recession" we are all still living through
