Congrats, Chris--great question. I think what has happened to Huntsman's candidacy shows the strength of the Republican conservative base and the weaknesses of the moderates.
The only other thought I'd add to the BR's take is that Huntsman served in the Obama administration which in this extremely conservative political TPGOP climate is a huge black mark by his name. In addition, he is viewed as a moderate even though he's far from moderate and he's a Mormon just like Romney (which should not matter but it will to evangelical voters). In Iowa voters minds and likely other states, he's the equivalent of Mitt Romney and I doubt GOP voters will opt away from Romney for someone who is just like Romney as far as they're concerned.
Let's discuss how far a fruit fly could drive a Porsche down Woodward Avenue without popping the clutch. Both have about the same chance of happening at all, let alone to what degree.
Huntsman isn't going to get anywhere no matter what anyway. It really doesn't matter if he is in the race in Iowa or not. He simply won't win. A lot of people say "Huntsman?".
Nice fellow, competent bureaucrat, good to his family, loyal trustworthy and brave American. All admirable qualities but he hasn't demonstrated that he is capable of bringing passion to his political life.
Never lived in Utah, but driving through gives me the sense that residents are energetic with honorable intentions dedicated to their (Mormon) communities, but fairly dispassionate. Would not expect them to produce firebrand orators or require inspiration or charisma from their Governor.
Congrats on having your question selected Chris!
Good to see the 'rooster' hasn't lost his touch! ;o)
PS: Is Huntsman even on the ballot? *snark*
PPS: Thank you for the beautiful Christmas Card!
Good job, Chris!

People in Utah are supporting Romney over Huntsman by a large margin. Says something.

has anyone with 2% in the national polls EVER gotten the amount of press Huntsman is getting here?
No fundraising, no national campaign infrastructure beyond NH, he must have a relative working here...and he's running 4th in NH...

Nostalgia minute;
On this day 4 years ago, RUDY was the Republican Front-Runner...
Best thing Jon Huntsman did was snub the inventor of Republican Clown Parade
Trump couldn't draw in enough clowns for a full circus act!
Bummer ....
