After spending nearly $3 million in TV ads in Iowa -- most of them hammering Newt Gingrich -- the Super PAC supporting Mitt Romney, Restore Our Future, is now set to begin advertising in Florida.
According to Smart Media Group Delta, the ad-tracking firm partnering with NBC News, Restore Our Future has purchased $187,000 on broadcast TV from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1.
That isn't a HUGE amount of ad spending in an expensive state like Florida. But it's a sign that the pro-Romney Super PAC is now turning its attention to the state that goes fourth in the GOP nominating process -- and where Gingrich has held a large lead.'
*** UPDATE *** Restore Our Future now is also purchasing TV ad time in South Carolina.

No surprise there. More than likely, this campaign/non-campaign PAC has done all the damage it can do in Iowa. So time to focus their evil elsewhere.
Super PAC is now a confirmed threat to our Democracy. The invincible hands that compel politicians to answer their calls and do their will. And GOP sees nothing wrong in this uncivilized trend.
Great, just what I wanted for Christmas was a bunch of losers making stuff up while swearing on a bible during the commercials down here.
Does anyone know if you can program a Comcast set top box to automatically skip them?
If they were smart, they'd skip South Florida and stick with North Florida.
Actually it's pretty nauseating, but it is a political reality and something you have to do to counter the big union money in the general election.
Pretty nauseating watching companies be denied the right to open a plant in a state the unions don't approve of, pretty disgusting watching trade agreements sitting for years while millions are unemployed in an futile effort to sweeten the union pot .....
What is really abhorrent, is Obama's flagrant cronyism, the funding with tax payer money of his billionaire bundler buddies green projects for ventures that fold, that pay for jobs in foreign countries, etc.
GOP ever do anything as flagrant or "uncivilized" as these blatant and obvious abuses?
"GOP ever do anything this flagrant"
Ever here of KBR?
@Tom
Noooooooo!!!!! If I have to suffer the ads here in NE Florida, you have to share the pain too! (I am just going to record everything and watch it later - so I can skip the ads!)
Happy Holidays, Tom.
I considered the political ads from both sides as being rank in 2010, 2012 wlil likely be just as rank.
the best ads from 2010 was senator grassleys' re-election bid in iowa. He stuck with his accomplishments and what he wanted to accomplish if re-elected . Ms conlin (his opponent) ended up with little to say except that grassley was getting long in the tooth.
Grassley won re-election because he delivered more often on what he promoted than not.
Every. Freakin'. Day.
It's no wonder why Bill O'Reilly has the #1 cable news show going for 12 straight years!
His interview with Bill Clinton was great television. I actually found myself liking Bill Clinton. I know shocking, right?
It probably had to do with the fact that I was able to take away that Clinton (with out directly saying it) thinks much like I do that Obama is a total and complete stiff. And that his wife (and the country for that matter) got screwed over by the media which carried his water all the way to White House.
You all should check out billo'reilly.com if you missed it.
Obama cannot run on his record.
That basically means a BILLION DOLLARS will be going to demonize and denigrate by the most polarizing president in Gallup history.
2012 will likely be the most vile, nastiest and "rank" election in our lives.
LMAO! Monitor clean up in progress! Now that was funny!
"Actually it's pretty nauseating, but it is a political reality and something you have to do to counter the big union money in the general election."
Is it possible, the big union money is there to COUNTER the big-bizzniz money that's been there all along? Why is one bad, one not??
KBR?
Really guys?
I suppose it's the same company that "took" money from FDR during the Great Depression, "took" money from FDR all throughout WW II, "took" money from Kennedy and Johnson during the Vietnam War, "took" money from Clinton during the Balkans, Kosovo ....
And btw - did Obama get rid of KBR? Is he taking" money from KBR.
There are all kinds of businesses that do what KBR does, are as big, have the same capabilities, huh?
Yea, really swell rebutal guys.
K Street-Jack and Tom -Tricky Dick I and II -Guns for Drugs (Iran Contra).
What did they counter in 2008?
Obama got Wall Street money by a 4-1 margin, got 52% of big business money ...
It is all bad, but union public sector money is despicable.
Bottom line - I agree with Obama and believe in public financing .... well the Obama before ... he realized he could out-raise repubs and the other way worked to a remarkable advantage.
Rob in ma: O'Reilly knows when he can and can't cross the line. When he is dealing with an intelligent person, or if he has a guest he knows deserves respect, he gives them that respect. He also knows that if he treated President Clinton improperly, he (O'Reilly) would look rather foolish and would never get another top name guest.
I still say the all time very best interviewer is Charlie Rose. He treats every guest with respect and asks pointed, informed questions which move the interview along and then follows up with questions which show he is listening to his guest, not just reading questions that someone else wrote or pursuing their own agenda.
Tim Russet RIP to me is untouchable. He played it right down the middle. True integrity. Meet the Press with Gregory isn't even a shadow of it's former self. As for O'Reilly you are right when he has the big names he plays it far different. I will have to pay closer attention to Rose.
As others have suggested above, the current campaign finance system in this country threatens the very idea of our democracy as it has resulted in our elected representatives losing focus on the needs and desires of American citizens and the country as a whole. This problem is compounded by the balloting rules and Congressional procedural rules that greatly favor the Reps and Dems, and essentially exclude any new party or third party from becoming a legitimate force. These problems need to be corrected in order to allow our members of Congress to begin to focus on the needs and desires of the American people and the country as a whole, as opposed to being focused only on the desires of the party itself and the few large organizations that contribute to those parties. I encourage everyone to check out the American Overhaul Act at www.americanoverhaulact.org, which proposes Constitutional amendments designed to correct these types of systemic deficiencies that have caused our government to lose focus on its job of representing the American people. And, if you agree with the proposals, show your support for the Act, share it with your friends and family, and contact you state and federal representatives about the Act. Getting anything like this passed is a difficult task (but not impossible, since it can be done without any intervention or action from Congress), so the organization will need all of the support it can get!
Oh Boy! Attack ads! Don't you just love'm?
What if the Republicans spend all their money atacking each other and don't have any funds left to attack President Obama?
We can hope!
PS In Maine, the American Lung Association is running an attack ad against politicians who are trying to weaken air quality protections. How out of touch with America do you have to be to be attacked by the American Lung Association? Republicans seem to be aligned with special interests, and against environmentalists, teachers, child health organizations, the AARP and now, the American Lung Association?
I wonder just how much money will be spent on this election. Good to be in Texas where we do not see many political TV ads.
devie - Nope, I hate attack ads. Everybody hates attack ads. Even the politicians who run them profess to hate attack ads. So why do they seem to get worse every election cycle? If there are any two people in America who I'd like to see on permanent unemployment, it's the man and woman who do all the voice-overs on them - I swear it's the same two people on every one, and if I never hear them and their nasty, snide "Joe Candidate.....WRONG for America!" again, it'll still be too soon.
Amy - That American Lung Association ad has been running here too. I keep waiting for the response ad that explains how it's all those big government regulations that are really causing those increases in children with asthma. By the way, love the seasonal avatar!
Obama already said he was going to spend a $billion, does that answer your question?
And Obama can wait to spend it because the republicans just can not help themselves with their run away add spending. They can burn through billions in a blink of an eye. If the Republicans are lucky they may have some money left to spend in the general election.
Well girls, what is more important...Growth, environment or a balance between the two?
Automakers can make supersafe vehicles, they can make super efficient (mpg) ones and they can make them super cheap. Each can be done, but each has its own fatal flaws. Bottom line is that the best features are balanced off with each other.
This just in about an hour ago as I was listening to Thom Hartmann live.
The CSPAN Congressional broadcast was cut off by John Boehner as he gavelled the House into Holiday recess.
A Democratic Representative was speaking at the time exhorting the GOP to return to their seats and hash out a deal on the unemployment benefits that so many depend on. He narrated as the Speaker, and a GOP contingent, strode to the back of the Chamber and simply left.
Then his voice was cut off as the mic was deactivated.
CSPAN was called to restore audio, but they told their subscribers that they could not because,- "The Speaker controls the mic".
The GOP has officially walked out.
You heard it here first.
How many deals have they walked out on now?
Nice try. there are 8 house reps waiting to work out differences with the senate. Has reid appointed senate members yet to hammer out the differences yet?
P&P - probably as many as obama and company have walked away from.
Washington (CNN)- The House GOP is coming under increasing fire from fellow Republicans in the Senate for the payroll tax standoff with Democrats – which many in the GOP see as a growing political debacle.
Multiple Senate GOP sources told CNN that frustration with their counterparts in the House is mounting.
"The House Republicans have painted themselves into a corner. They are on their own," a Senate GOP leadership aide told CNN.
I love it! I need more popcorn and soda!! LOL
Let me guess, it was Scott Brown's aid...why don't the Democrats want to extend the payroll tax and unemployment out to another year instead of 2 months?
Better stock up tommy, both sides relish debacles. Just think of the debacle that a two month extension would generate.
Republican's need to remember the old saying ( watch what you wish for you might just get it ). They want deficit reduction, come January 1 2013 they will get $6.2 trillion worth of cuts. $1 trillion dollars they agreed on just to raise the debt. ceiling. The $1.2 trillion in automatic cuts the super committee couldn't agree on ($600 billion in defense cuts and $600 billion in non-discretionary spending cuts ) and the $4 trillion in Bush tax cuts that expire on that same day. That all totals to $6.2 trillion and President Obama doesn't have to do anything but sit back and watch them go in effect. Obama played the Republican's like a real pro and they didn't even see it coming.
