One of the things we see with Illinois is a similarity with how Obama is trying to run the country. Gov. Blagojevich's successor raised both income taxes and corporate taxes. Income taxes are paid by all, rich, poor, and everyone in between. Not sure how that helps the "little guy" as Obama likes to refer to the "common man". But more egregious is the corporate tax. Big corporations in Illinois threaten to leave the state over these high taxes. To stop them from leaving, Illinois cuts deals with these big corporations, reducing their tax burden to stay in the state. That's called corporate welfare, you know, something the Liberals just hate. My guess the corporations have lobbyists helping them out in the state capital too, cutting decent size checks for re-election campaigns.

The little guy, the small business owners, they don't have that leverage. They pay the full tax rate. It appears Illinois is no friend to small business owners. So how exactly is that helping the "little guy" again?
