NEW YORK -- Newt Gingrich shot back at House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today, after Pelosi threatened to reveal details of the ethics investigation into the former House Speaker almost 13 years ago.
“I want to thank Speaker Pelosi for what I regard as an early Christmas gift,” Gingrich said during a press conference at Manhattan’s Union League Club Monday afternoon.
“If she’s saying that she’s going to use material that she developed while she was on the ethics committee,” Gingrich added, “that is a fundamental violation of the rules of the House, and I would hope that members would immediately file charges against her the second she does it.”
The remark brought a quick response over Twitter from Nancy Pelosi’s staff.
“[Pelosi] was clearly referring to the extensive amount of information that is in the public record,” wrote her spokesman, Drew Hammill.
The back-and-forth began earlier today when the left-leaning website Talking Points Memo published an interview with Pelosi, in which she said, “One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich.”
The blog post was headlined, “Democrats Gleeful At Prospect of Running Against Gingrich.”
“I know a lot about him,” Pelosi told TPM. “I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”
The ethics investigation resulted in sanctions against Gingrich, and a fine.
Gingrich resigned as Speaker of the House in 1999. Pelosi later served as House Speaker, from 2007 until January, 2011.
The two appeared in a 2008 video encouraging action on global warming –- a move that has invited attacks from Gingrich’s opponents in the GOP field.
“We don’t always see eye-to-eye, do we Newt?” Pelosi said in the video.
“No,” Gingrich replied.

And the pattern begins once again. Every time a Republican looks like he/she may be a threat to Barack Hussein Obama's 2nd term, the Democrats resort to attacks. This method does work. Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Hitler all used this method to marginalize their enemies. Considering BHO is a Nihilist and heavily influenced by Saul Alinsky (look him up), one can see why Democrats are using this technique.
Pelosi appears to be leading the attacks at the moment. Notice she never mentions that she helped get the national minimum pay increased, which was good. Except for one thing. Pelosi exempted those working in the Tuna industry. Why? The answer is simple, her husband has millions invested in those very industries. BTW - with millions invested in the (big) Tuna Industry, that means Pelosi IS a part of Wall Street; using the OWS idiots.

Newt is the one who got FIRED from Congress & fined heavily... Doesn't it make you doubt Newt when every conservative who served under his leadership won't vote for him?

Funny, at the time Newt accepted the sanctions, and admitted to the ethics violation and to lying to the commitee that investigated the ethics charge. Many Republicans considered him bad news, and he was, so he stepped down, or would be fired. He was the first Speaker of the House to ever step down, and that is important, contrary to your biased comment. I guess Nixon, wasn't so bad either, during Watergate in your eyes.
Go back and read the synopsis, and next time don't leave out any details, as Faux News will do.

Newt is just a Flem Flam man who is smarter then some. What is not good is the Republican party and their backers will accept anyone who they think can beat Obama, no matter how dishonest they are. They do not have a decent or workable plan for the country but winning is all they are about so the country can be damned.
Don't underestimate Pelosi either. She is not weak or scared easily and if she has the goods on Newt and she can release the info legally, I have a feeling she hates him enough to put it out there.

Let's see Pelosi's financial records so she can clear up her "insider trading" which she says is "technically legal ." Legal maybe because her husband bought the stocks? If he actually did. it's uncanny how he knew just when to buy 5000 shares of Visa which doubled in value short time later.
