Bachmann says her campaign's been flooded with former Cain backers

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann said he campaign has been inundated by former supporters of Herman Cain looking to join the Bachmann team.

Bachmann wouldn't estimate how many Cain fans had jumped to support her effort, but said "our phone has been ringing off the hook."

“I just want to say how grateful I am and our campaign is for all of the people who are calling our campaign offices who were formerly Herman Cain supporters,” Bachmann said before an event in Myrtle Beach where she signed copies of her book, “Core of Conviction.”

Cain, a once-popular presidential candidates among GOP primary voters, announced Saturday that he was suspending his campaign amidst the damage a string of alleged instances of sexual harassment and an affair had done to his campaign. Rival Republican candidates have scrambled to court Cain voters in the meanwhile.

Bachmann held six book signings during a three-day swing through South Carolina.

If this is in fact, true all they're doing is trading in one scoop of crazy for another...

Well, she does have one thing in common with Hermie - she does have a book to sell. And the phone wouldn't be ringing off the hook if someone would have just answered it. Both of the Cain supporters calling her could have gotten through!

Most Cain supporters will go to Newt'rs. They have the same moral values. :)

Hire them all Michelle! It will make for a great campaign that may propel you to the Republican nomination. The only candidate better than you for us liberals would be Newt. I think it is easier to use Newt's soundbites and congressional hearings against him than use your words against you. People would think the Obama campaign was wise to attack Newt but mean to attack you so like Feisty above I say, "You go girl!"

It's hard to 'flood' something that is already under water?

Poor Michell.......She should talk to her campaign advisor Marcus!

This is great news! I was worried that if it became a two man race between Weathervane Willard and Newt "I am not a salamander" Gingrich, it would be time to hit the snooze button. If the batchitcrazy lady can make a comeback, that would be hilarious and I hope she wins!

It's completely insane for anyone to make any predictions about who the republican candidate will be to go up against Obama. It is even more insane to predict the outcome of the general election. I love the way the liberals are SOOOOO convinced that Obama will definitely win. They must all be staring into the same crystal ball... hoping that they can influence the outcome by all sharing the same idea that Obama is the best of the two candidates when they don't even know who the republican candidate will be.

Liberals have bunched the republican candidates into one group. For the amount of bitching and complaining about each and every one of them, on a daily basis, not a single thought they bear will change the eventual outcome. I guess this is too much reality though.

Nothing can change the lack of job performance Obama has shown this country.

Liberals can hope. I'll work towards change.

Liberals have bunched the republican candidates into one group.

Unfortunately for conservatives, they're as fractured as ever and can't reach a consensus on who'll be their standard bearer.

Brianb Your candidates are all in one group because there nuts. Your best candidates are vilified because of there religion. As for job performance your party has done everything in there power to do nothing to work with The President, at the country's expense. You would be a lying to say any thing different.

Brianb - The number of realistic GOP contenders has dropped down to two maybe three. I won't presume to name them. You are right about the election though, Obama will either win or loose by a close margin. Those that see a landslide either way are fooling themselves. But, as you've stated you don't care about what we think.

Who is you guy BrianB, this leftist wants to know?

With everyone starting to turn away from Newt.. after reading the scathing reviews written all weekend ..The charges .. the fines .. the con artist mentality etc . She may have gotten one or two new supporters ...from Cain ..but i would doubt more that that ! She does have a very long " pants on fire history" !

Have anyone noticed that the GOPers are in the habit of playing the negative game. If as the job thing declined to 8.6% their attack changed to what the numbers says, how come what the inside numbers says does not come into play when the numbers are bad. Like go up to 9% even though the filling was under 400,000 and jobs keeps growing while the GOP governors are cutting public sector jobs and cutting taxes for millionaires and Billionaires to exacerbate the situation?

The Tea Beggers are really desperate now. Poltically they are trading in "Crazy Cain" for "Bitchy Bachmann." Both are not mentally stable, both are not well educated, and both are "Social Sadist's." Both of these GOP Clowns will protect their "Tax Master" the one and only "Goofy Grover!" The GOP/RNC want tax cuts for the top 1% of Americans at all costs. That is fact! The "Hoodlum's On The Hill" will not extend Unemployment Insurance Benefits, and they will not upset the very powerful Koch Brothers. "Bitchy Bachmann" is very clear! That those who have no jobs?? Did it to themselves! Those that have no health insurance?? They can die! Those that are on food stamps?? Are too lazy! So the Working Poor can starve! These are the views of "Bitchy Bachmann." Remember America to think, research, and read all the facts first. Then get out the vote in 2012. "Mickey Mouse Mitch McConnell" the GOP Lobbyist has made it very clear. To destroy the President of the United States. Does this sound like "Political Treason" to you America???

Only in the U.S.A. do so many politicans have so much talk about and nothing to say about anything.I can hardley wait to see what they have to say when the Donald is asking the really hardball questions in the next debate like, Newt, that 1.8 million you got from fannie and freddy , was that before or after taxes?Newt, hows the wife doing?Newt, hows the grilfriend? What no grilfriend?Really, call me when you get into town and I'll fix that. Please make the voices go away!

"Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann said he campaign has been inundated by former supporters of Herman Cain..."

If they bring with them the skills that made Cain such a poor example of a potential presidential candidate, Michelle might want to lock the doors of her campaign offices. With friends like them, who needs enemies?

Pretty sure that Michelle wasn't hearing the phone ringing off the hook--anytime a bell rings somewhere in North America, the voices inside of her head tell her go to pee. The fact that she only has one phone that rings is a statement to her campaign...Its a shame, really. I wanted a Bachmann/Palin ticket so bad I could taste it--and can you think of 2 better reasons to enact Sharia Law?
