I'll tell you how it unraveled faster than a cheap sweater for Cain...

To begin with, Hermie couldn't keep little Hermie contained behind his zipper!

Is it coincidence, Mrs. Hermie doesn't travel with him?

Second, his utter ignorance on foreign policy was an embarrassment!

Lastly, allowing his big mouth to overrun common sense when telling the unemployment that their predicament is their own FAULT!

Yup - the hits just kept on rolling from the Pizza Boy!

Cain was ill prepared for the grueling demands of the GOP debates, looked confused at times and some of his answers were less than impressive….I thought the fact that he wasn’t a politician was running in his favor.

As for the “other things”…. he was the only one who had the full picture of what had transpired in each case and he could no longer hide the facts!

Cain will lead the GOP's charge down the drain. The Republican Party seems to be hell-bent for failure and ol' Hermie is carrying the flag. We have a long election season and a limited number of the GOP's pretenders to the presidency remaining: Bachmann is fading away into nothingness, Santorum/Huntsman are garden-variety losers, Perry has a lot of money and no brains, Gingrich is just waiting for his past scandals to catch up with him, and Romney is wilting like a prom queen's wrist corsage. It may reach a point where the RNC is forced to recruit potential candidates at gunpoint!

Stay tuned!

When you think about it - there is no need for a long explanation of 'how it all unraveled'...

See, when you do something dishonest & then make the cognitive decision to continue to lie... it is always only a matter of time...

It's really a shame that some of these candidates go into these campaigns assuming they'll get away with it. I guess when they've gotten away with it for years, they assume their good luck will continue.

I hope in the future candidates will realize that there are opponents out there who will stop at nothing to bring them down if they start getting any kind of traction.

Their opponents are going to dig.

That's the women issue.

*****************

The not quite knowing American history or current affairs is another matter. Some voters find it cute and actually charming and humorous when a candidate is clueless. And in some elections, supporters of these candidates won't care.

And from what people have been writing of late, this is one of those years. Newt Gingrich is a perfect example.

Proponents of President Obama are just out to beat him. No matter what the cost. And if it means someone like Gingrich, who quite frankly has no business being where he is in the polls right now, then so be it.

They don't care about his baggage. They don't care about the drama that is always present in the room with Gingrich. With them, it is obviously NOT about character or anything resembling character.

As far as the so-called PL, there is some bad stuff going on. Really bad stuff. Anyone who purports to be a Democrat and sits back and praises Gingrich is in no way, shape or form a Democrat. They are former Republicans who are as nasty as anyone in today's GOP.

The history is all there. And I'll start with Michael Moore. The guy who tells Democrats not to vote if he doesn't get what he wants. I very rarely see the PL doing anything for working class Americans who are struggling. They just hop on any streetcar that is popular at the moment.

And poof then they're gone until the next time a story will bring them some attention. It's not really about us.

It's about their own careers and ratings. Or even worse, it's just about them out there trying to sell their book and will exploit any situation in order to do it.

What we have today is a bunch of spoiled whiners.

Thurgood Marshall. He was the real deal. He was in it for the long haul. And it was never about him.

It was about equality and justice. And he worked his entire life to achieve it. Which he did.

Obama 2012. No one even comes close in integrity, in character, in work ethic. Especially some in the so-called PL. They have made it about themselves instead of America.

What a waste. What a joke.

Pat Boston MA. -- You hit the nail on the head. People who become rich and/or powerful become delusional. Even small potatoes Mom & Pop types begin to think they are rulers of their own country, otherwise known as a small business, and sexual harassment is rampant by senior management in Corporate America.

But comparisons have been made to Gary Hart telling the media to follow him. That's just delusional behavior. Gingrich is a psychopath in that same vein.

TruePatriot: The thing with Gingrich is that the women issue is the least of his problems from what we know about him. In today's climate everything is about making money and nothing else. And it doesn't make a damn bit of difference how people go about making it. No one cares. From Gingrich to Romney to tv hosts to so called activists of today.

Romney went to Wall Street. Barack Obama did not.

This is a kind of silly story but it's something that has always stayed with me. Back in I think 2007, Keith Olbermann and others were moderators at one of the Democratic debates. I forget where it was, but I believe it was in the midwest somewhere. It was an outside event.

And Keith either wrote or mentioned on his program the following night that after the debate, only one candidate approached him to thank him and shake his hand.

And that candidate was Barack Obama.

He's the real deal.

Pat Boston MA. -- You bring up another point I meant to respond to in another thread. Right-wingers say sex scandals don't mean anything anymore because of Clinton. They are wrong. Impeachment over fishing expeditions (whether sex related or not) is what won't happen anymore because Democrats made a concerted decision to stop the nonsense and not go after Dubya for war crimes.

Another difference is Clinton was very qualified, as well as like-able, but most of all he did not campaign on "family values." And then cheat on his wife a second time, once while the wife was receiving treatment for cancer, not paying child support, along with ethics violations and scams to become wealthy. If criticism of Romney is that he's the 1%, well so is Gingrich but in even more questionable ways. Newt takes the Douche-bag Blue Ribbon, and that's hard to do these days in the GOP/TP.

Character, integrity, and trust-worthiness are still very important to all voters, and should be. If Teapublicans are hypocritical enough to nominate Gingrich just because of hate for the president, we will know they've hit a new low.

The thing that I admire Barrack Obama for, is one of the things that many ridicule him for, and that is the fact that a young man with a law degree could have hired on with any number of law firms for some serious coin, but instead took a job as a community organizer and took far less pay for himself, to try to do work that would benefit people who are at a disadvantage than those who have access to big time law firms.

As far as Cain and those like him, it is very simple for me, once I realize that a mans wife and kids can't trust him, I know for a fact I can't trust him.

Forrest, you will notice that the so-called journalists on tv keep repeating the same thing - that President Obama can't connect to people. Never have I heard such BS in my life. It is the media who can't connect with people. All they are are inside the beltway gossipers. They're all friends and are in their own little bubble and quite wealthy. Which to be honest, I could care less about.

What does bother me is there is no accountability. It's only about ratings. You can find stuff that goes way way back on some of the out and out nonsense these hosts/journalists were saying and reporting. It is truly horrible and unprofessional.

President Obama is an inspiration to all young people in this country. It's what you want in a President.

The media is not. They inspire no one. Not anymore. Other than a very few. Very few. Rev. Al is one.

Times have changed here in America. For the worse. And it started with the media who didn't do their jobs.

When all is said and done whether President Obama serves one term or two, history will show how fortunate we were that he wanted to be our President. Despite everything. Especially considering the disrespect he has received from ignorant cruel people.

Which is all they are. They're no better or smarter than you or I, despite what they may think of themselves. They really aren't.

Romney. What has he ever done in his life that he should replace President Obama? Romney won't even do an interview and he talks about leadership?

It's almost comical if it wasn't so pathetic.

People tend to equate personal wealth, with success as a person, the two are unrelated, being rich does not make you a good person any more than being poor makes you a bad person. If you are of good character you may or may not accumulate a lot of money, but no matter how much money you have you can not purchase good character. People can easily forget those that gave them a little money, they never forget those that gave them a little time and attention. People can easily forget exactly what you said but they never forget how you made them feel.

Forrest I will take that a step further, it is very hard for a person who is rich to be a person of good charachter....But I agree with the above posts mostly...To me it seems like Obama is one of those rich people who is good...You cannot bocome POTUS without a lot of money and support from other people with money...So he had to generate wealth some how and he did it in huble ways and kudos to the rich who support him...I beleive he really wants to make america good and equal in opportunity for all like thurogood marshall...If he has his way we would have a single payor health-care program among other things...He hasn't done everything he wants to do because of obstuction and he beleives in the rule of law.....God I hope he gets the true blue Dem majority he needs next year not a bunch of lieberman traitors............I was proud of my country for the first time when Obama was elected...I cried....Take that you heartless racist GOP god loving fag hating starve the children let the sick die douche bag republican old soon to be dead senior citizen rebel flag flying birth certificate tin foil hat wearing republican want to be asasinators........F-off....Because this country is entering a new day where it is not a bad thing to be a mixed race mongrel.....Haaaaaaaa

I think wealth and character are two separate issues, I think what happens is that if you are of good character wealth gives you the means and allows you to do a lot more good for others, if you are not of good character wealth gives you the means to indulge your vices to a much greater extent. In and of itself money is not good or bad, having lots of it just lets you expand your own propensity to display your good character or your bad character. The money does not make bad people good or good people bad, it just gives them the opportunity to do what they do in a bigger more exaggerated fashion. I find that generous people will share much if they have much, and will still share even when they have very little. Stingy people are just stingy, when they have very little they use that as a reason to justify their stinginess, and when they have much much more than they need they still find a reason to be stingy. Money can never buy true happiness, but it can always let you pick your own brand of misery. I can't think of a situation where having money would have made it necessarily worse, but I can think of many where having money would not make it better. What about somebody with a child with a terminal illness, they would trade all the riches in the world to change that, but they can't. We all need money that is certainly true, but we sometimes think if we had vast riches we would always be happy and have everything we need and that is certainly not true.

I agree with you Forrest, Being rich, Truly rich, has nothing to do with money.

There are some thing I can respect, heck, maybe even admire in the president, as an individual. But I think he has quite a few problems in the leadership department. At first I think the whole of the position he attained overwhelmed him and the bulls of the party kinda overran him and used him. He is learning, but I really do think that most who reach the office of president all have a bit of learning to do before they can go out and do great things.

I hear people trashing him from every angle, and on the other side people putting him on a pedestal calling him the greatest ever. I think neither side really has a clue (including me) of what the office of president actually entails.

All I know is that if we do not get this country moving, we are in for a very long cold winter...

He is not perfect, no person is, I believe he is honest and wants to do the right things that will benefit this country and the majority of the people in it. I would hate to president I would not want that weight on my shoulders, I would not want to give the orders that send young people into war, knowing I will have sent some to be killed or maimed. It is a responsibility of unimaginable proportion and we sometime treat it as if we were electing the the next American Idol. I don't believe he is anything like the horrible person or leader some portray him as, leadership is one thing when people must follow your lead and it is another thing when it is really just a suggestion and Congress decides what really happens. Herding cats is a tough, if not impossible job, many in Congress have openly stated and displayed they will purposely oppose anything he suggests even when the idea originated from them. You can see why the military never lets you vote on orders by a commanding officer, you have no choice, and yet they call the generals great leaders. I know one thing it is easy to lead people where they want to go, it is much harder to lead them where they need to go.

Forrest, Obama became a community organizer because he wanted to learn and become part of the Chicago political machine--nothing good or sinister about that but it wasnt because he was doing it solely for social change. Every aspect of his career choices have been to further his political career which again isnt bad. But there wasnt anything altruistic about it. He learned from the Chicago masters including I am sure some good things from the Daleys and some bad things from getting involved with Tony " the fixer" Rezco. He met his money people in the Pritzker family-billionaires no different than the ones that support the GOP candidates. If you think learning and mentoring at the feet of the chicago political machine is a good thing then you would be happy with the choice.

To look at it similarly to Wisconsin as Anna Molly and you all seem to have fits over. For us fiscal conservatives, Obama being elected president is no different than if one of Walker's community organizers became a state Wisconsin representative and was placed into the Wisconsin senate seat by his political machine and somehow got elected president. You would look back and say wow how could such an economic failure become president. Look at us in Illinois and we say the same thing. Obama learned at the feet of a group of politicians that have run this state into fiscal oblivion and that person became president. Do you wonder why we cant get behind his fiscal failures?

    Really Feisty!

This guy was a disaster waiting to happen for the repubs. I almost shudder with anticipation when I think that Gingrich or Romney are the only repub alternatives left now that Cain is outta' there.

Republicans are shuddering too. Usually the presumptive nominee has no record to run on (or run from) when facing the incumbent, but this time out the republicans have this vacillating, self-flagellating, bellicose, meandering, serial adulterer to shove up to their podium.

The repubs are going to deck Newt up in ceremonial finery and pitch him into the Democratic volcano as a sacrificial offering. Then they'll wait till 2016.

Even the Democrats can't mess up the campaign of 2012.

America has kinda noticed that the economy wasn't good when Obama took it over. I don't think they want to hand the keys back to the repubs and let them have another run at destroying what's left of America's middle class.

The man was a joke from the beginning. Heck, even Church leaders within his own congregation have admitted the man had no business running and was essentially just sitting back and loving the attention he was getting.

He showed everything that was wrong with today's "leaders" and their sense of entitlement when running for the Presidency. The current crop of GOP candidates, especially the front-runners highlight how they think their own stock of is greater than the stock of the Office they are trying to pursue.

Suspend? You never had anything to suspend. Perhaps instead of knowing what ice cream Michele Bachman would be, you should be trying to figure out the flavor your wife likes. If you have such a mind, then you are easily manipulated by FOX "News," and you are easily attracted to the rank and file of the Republican Party. Fortunately, most Americans are not that mentally and emotionally disturbed. Democrats will will the 2012 elections by a landslide because the vast majority of American voters are so turned off by the pathetic state of the Republican rank and file and by their candidates they will reject them in droves.

Democrats were not happy with Edwards and his behavior and Republicans should be unhappy with Gingrich and Cain for the same reasons. These guys give their party and their followers a bad name. I really don't care which party they are in when they misbehave they need to be smacked down and hard.
