Cain to make 'major announcement' Saturday

Herman Cain's campaign told NBC News the presidential candidate will make a "major announcement" tomorrow in Atlanta. Andrea Mitchell reports.

Alfredo Ortiz, a Georgia-based press secretary with the Herman Cain campaign, tells NBC News that Herman Cain will make a "major announcement" tomorrow in Atlanta at his new campaign office in DeKalb County.

Ortiz would not allude to the nature of the announcement other than to say it is a "major announcement."

Cain has been the subject of media scrutiny for weeks, sparked by an Oct. 31 story in Politico reporting that the National Restaurant Association had settled sexual harassment claims brought by two women.

On Nov. 28, an Atlanta woman, Ginger White, announced that she had engaged in a 13-year-long affair with Cain. The former Godfather's Pizza CEO acknowledged sending money to White, but insisted they were merely friends.

He told senior staffers on Tuesday that he was taking time to “reassess” his campaign.

The announcement follows the first planned face-to-face meeting between Cain and his wife, Gloria, since White came forward.

Cain's campaign has pushed forward with business-as-usual in the meanwhile, soliciting donations from supporters, and launching new efforts, such as "Women for Herman Cain," an initiative spearheaded by his wife.

If one tracks the plane used by Mr Cain for campaigning, you find:

  • The plane is registered to Palangi Air ( a Kuala Lumpur corporation )
  • It returns to Clayton County airport from Rock Hill SC later this pm
  • Flys from Clayton County airport to Van Nuys, Calif late this pm

Mr Cain has just released a press release regarding " major announcement" from Atlanta tomorrow. Earlier this week he indicated that he would return to Atlanta to discuss the recents developments with his wife, prior to making any decisions or announcements. Folks, the decision is apparently made ! It appears to me that he will not be on the plane to Van Nuys, the plane is making it's way to Maylasia, and that this is the end of the line for Mr Cain's Presidential campaign.

Submitted for your consideration.

All his damage control was done by running to Faux News solely with his they-are-all lying speech, probably because he knows no other media outlet has allies to the Tea Party like FOX.

No matter what happens he is still a millionaire, at least for awhile.

WHO CARES????????!!!!!!! We all know that Sir Pizza Doughhead is dropping out of the presidential race because he won't be able to smile for the cameras after his wife gives him some poetic justice - a big ol' iron skillet upside his head! I don't know what makes people (not just politicians) think that they can be cheaters and not get caught. Karma is a b***h as we all know (or should know) and in most instances, it comes back and bites you in the butt. Or in Herman Munster's case, kicks him in the butt. I feel bad for his wife....

Infowars: Senate Moves To Allow Military To Intern Americans Without Trial

NDAA detention provision would turn America into a “battlefield”

The Senate is set to vote on a bill today that would define the whole of the United States as a “battlefield” and allow the U.S. Military to arrest American citizens in their own back yard without charge or trial.

“The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself,” writes Chris Anders of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office.

Obama following FDR to imprison americans he deems the "enemy".

Why is MSDNC not reporting this? The left was all upset over the patriot act by bush but this is OK?

Can you say "hypocrite" leftists?

Read again please; it says this is what congress wants to do and NOT what is happening. I doubt that congress can override the constitution and due process clause and enforce citizens to be held without trial.

Yes, except that obama will have the power to decide who is an "enemy of the state", not congress. So if you talk bad about the dems, liberals you could be interned by this president.

And lets not forget that obama wants a civilian army that is just as big and just as well funded as our military is. You know like they have in other marxists countries to keep an eye on the population.

Vote out ALL Dems and liberal (moderate) repubs in 2012

MSN reported on this for about 5 minutes earlier today. Shows where their priorities really lie. The Senate fails to realize that they and the Congress are also subject to this law if it passes. For the way they've conducted themselves in recent years most of them could be considered enemies of the state or at least their constituents. It seems to me that if the story is not either sensational or really stupid MSN will not dwell on it for long. Where is the ACLU while this is going on? MSN also seems lately to shy away from issues that are controversial such as this one. Maybe time for MSN to man up and let the public know what is really going on in DC. Normally I consider them a bunch of crack pots. But in their case I would support them 100%.

sonmanvb: I think we should vote them all out and start with a clean slate.

Read again please; it says this is what congress wants to do and NOT what is happening.

It's in the senate to be brought for a vote this week! And if congress passes it, it will give this authority to the president.

I doubt that congress can override the constitution

Really? Then how in the world did they pass obamacare and about half of what they do in the last 150 years?

sonmanvb, Retired SFC - you Do realize that the President has to actually SIGN THE BILL before it becomes law, correct?

The President has already issued a VETO threat against this bill. This issue has been discussed on here on Thursday AND Friday, and believe it or not, there are people who are on this blog who actually think that this bill the Senate is considering is a GOOD IDEA.

We may not always agree on much, sonmanvb and Retire SFC, but we DO agree on this - this bill is a BAD IDEA.

I am sorry I missed that somehow. But I agree 100% this bill is a BAD idea. Yes I do realize the president has to sign this bill before it becomes law. If in fact the president has signed a VETO threat against this bill, it was either not stated in todays arctilce or I missed it. I will try to pay better attention to detail in the future.

Just imagine if Cain was buddies with Pentagon Bombing Terrorist Bill Ayers, MSNBC would have this front and center in the news nonstop day after day, but since instead it is their Annoited One who IS buddies with a Pentagon Bombing Terrorist, it is "not newsworthy"

Kurt, what you are missing is that Clinton was actually qualified to be POTUS. Further, he was a very effective President.

Most Americans would gladly trade some Bimbo Eruptions for a POTUS who was qualified and good at his job.

Nixon, RR, GWB1, GWB2 were all faithful to their wives, but not to the American people. These wonderful husbands sold middle class America down the river to their Corporate patrons.

Certainly not, any republican since Ronald Reagan

Concerning Reagan, remember Obama didn't smuggle Cocain into America with CIA planes. Or sell arms to the enemy (Iran) while they held Americans hostage.

how many trillion in debt are we ????????we are so screwed !!!!!!!!!!

Yep, you can thank GW for that mess. I'd give him a pass for the Afghanistan war. Not for Iraq.

He lied to get us there - war costs enormous amounts of money. He added to major wars and reduced the money coming into the tax rolls by giving giant tax breaks to the mega wealthy.

The gap between those that have and the rest of us has become Universe size.

You can thank the Bush tax cuts for the trillion dollar debt.

You can thank the GOP for keeping those breaks in existence.

At least Bush kept us safe after 9/11. Clinton basically ignored the terrorists and didn't go after them after the Cole (sp?) bombing, resulting in 9/11 being the next step for them.

Today s Republicans are running around claiming they are the Greatest Thing since sliced bread when just three short years ago they all marched in lockstep to destroy the American economy. Because of this many Americans now call the streets home. Their Tenure destroyed the value of peoples life's savings and their life's work. With virtually no prospect of recovering a life's worth of savings the Republicans are showing their faces back on the national stage trying to persuade everyone that they are going to be our Saviours.

Give the poor man a rest. This discussion vine really shows what integrity you liberal Obama supporters have. Move on to your next victim.

Because Herman Cain just loves his Socialist Secret Service detail that Hermie is enjoying at the American taxpayers' expense (it makes him feel really important which balloons his ego!).

He is NOT our candidate, he's YOURS, and it was Republicans who acted like they were sooo offended by Democrat President Bill Clinton who was the best President this country has ever had!

I tell you what else we Libs love: When the likes of your gay Republican Senator Larry Craig railed against gays while he pretended to be straight, and then got caught by police in the mens room at the airport trying to make out with some guy. (LOL !)

"Socialist Secret Service?" What does that even mean? And do you even have the slightest clue wahat Socialism is (without now looking it up?) I doubt it. Typical ignorant Fox News viewer.

Devin - American Girl's sarcasm escaped you. She was making the point that the hypocrite Cain is quite happy to have the state pay for his Secret Service detail.

First "planned face-to-face" meeting with his wife? How much planning does he need to meet his wife! no wonder he is Mr. HankyPanky

Amazing - he said this was having an "emotional toll" on his wife and that his family was his "number 1 priority". So, why did it take 4 days for him to get home and talk to his wife face to face?

I hear that tomorrow's announcement will be made in a voice several octaves higher - due to wife + knife.

                                          Cain's announcement:

"I met with my wife today. I was able to dodge the left hook, but she landed the right cross and uppercut"
