Manchester NH -— With the future of his campaign in question, Herman Cain did not rule out leaving the race, saying once again he will “reassess and reevaluate” the impact of recent events on his family, his campaign strategy and fundraising for “another few days.” Cain indicated he will make his final decision on the campaign when he sees his wife face-to-face this Friday.
“There’s some people who thought that I was finished but I’m going to leave it with Yogi Berra’s comment, ‘It ain’t over ‘til it’s over!’ And it ain’t over yet,” Cain bellowed to volunteers into his tightly-packed New Hampshire headquarters on Wednesday evening.
Yet just minutes later at a press conference, Cain did not explicitly rule out dropping out of the race for the GOP nomination, calling the accusations against him “character assassinations.” Cain has been accused by four women of inappropriate sexual misconduct. Ginger White is the fifth to come forward.
“We are going to reevaluate,” Cain said, after a one-day bus tour in Ohio today. “We had a strategy up until last weekend, we might reprioritize.”
Cain admitted he has not yet spoken to his wife Gloria face-to-face about the most recent allegations of a 13-year extramarital affair by Georgia-based Ginger White. Cain said he has spoken to his wife by phone.
“I have discussed this with my wife many times since Monday,” he told reporters. “She’s doing great.”
Cain also plans to discuss the future of the campaign with her when he returns home to Atlanta on Friday. As of now, the Georgia businessman plans to unveil the third pillar of his major policies, his energy plan, but did say much depended on his conversation with his wife this weekend.
In the aftermath of the allegation by White, Cain also conceded that cash flow to the campaign has slowed down significantly.
“A few of our warm weather supporters have gotten off the Cain train,” he told voters, before quickly adding that fundraising in the last few days is “picking up.”
The former pizza magnate also emphasized that this reassessment was “not a knee-jerk” reaction to the recent sexual allegations against him. However, he declined to comment on how this recent spate of news has caused his campaign to publicly reevaluate his position in the GOP race for the first time since entering.
Cain continues his New Hampshire visit tomorrow afternoon with a meeting with the Union Leader newspaper editorial team, despite the fact they endorsed Newt Gingrich on Sunday. It will be broadcast C-SPAN.
GOP hopefuls Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich have begun to engage each other with gentle jabs, suggesting they now see the nomination as a two-man race. Meanwhile, Herman Cain tried to rally enough support to stay in the race. NBC's Lisa Myers has more.

Okay, now that I've calmed down a bit, let me take just the first of your questions.
How can you, in all seriousness, say that the Democrat party is "more restrictive about freedom of expression of religion" when the Republican party is practically screeching, "We are a Christian nation!"? Where in that pronouncement do you see freedom of religion? And don't give me that crap about the pilgrims coming to this country to found a Christian nation.
In fact, the Republicans just castigated the president a few days ago because he didn't use the word "God" in his Thanksgiving Day speech. What about Buddhism, which is not really a religion and has a very different definition of "God"?
Furthermore, freedom of religion means the freedom to not choose a religion--to be an atheist, in other words.

Are you implying that paying taxes, stiffles expression? How so? This is what I don't get when conservatives start talking about the "entitled" left. Why should any of us, who have benefitted from this society, get to stay here at a discounted rate? Normally, you get what you pay for right? Well reverse that real quick, YOU OWE FOR WHAT YOU GET. Hence, if we've had all the opportunity in the world, because of the programs and freedoms afforded us by this country, why shouldn't we pay the equivalent of what we've received? Come on Anna - he has to have time to gain composure. Not being with her gave him enough time to get his story straight. Now he can face her and almost look her in the eyes. Well…it happened. Sooner than I expected, but on target nevertheless. Cain will most likely withdraw!! Who knows really if the lady in question is telling the truth, or if she was paid, or if she is nuts. No matter what her aim, Obama would never allow another black to run against him as it would dilute the black vote too much and he knows he’s dead in the water without the black majority. Period! Just how far will Obama go to reduce the playing fields?
Then there is the matter of wondering just how Cain expected to run for president and NOT have this come out if it is true! If the allegations ARE true did he really think it wouldn't come out??? Can a CEO be that stupid???

Journalism school is about writing to persuade people. When 79% of journalists are registered Democrats - would you expect them to write positive things about republicans! Have you not read articles where Press members have bragged that they can sway elections by 5 - 10 points by how they write?
BTW McCain was the News media darling until after the Republican convention. Then the "flipped the switch". He was the only one that could beat Hillary. After the convention he was often described as Irradic, old, tired, out of touch . . . .

From Reading - Romney is really the media's choice. They are writing in more positive terms about him - and the bulk of the Republican party isn't buying the line entirely. But in polling - Romney is the run-away winner of "second" choice.
And, doesn't everyone remember what happened to Dan Rather? The face of liberal media for how many decades?
And everyone tells us how MSM isn't biased towards democrats. One does have to wonder why the Media is doing it's damndest to make Mittney the candidate to run against Obama, and leaving Ron Paul alone like he doesn't exist.....

While I would agree that opinions to persuade shouldn't have any place in reporting the news, unfortunately that is life. And, although I believe that more than half of the news media do have a liberal bent, probably from their liberal journalism schools bent, claiming that almost four fifths of the nations media are REGISTERED Democrats is too far out there to be valid.
The closest anyone has come to proving media slant would be the Dan Rather fiasco. And that, rationally thinking, falls far from what anyone should assert as valid proof. And comes nowhere near proving the 79% claim.

Ginger White has cell phone records, at least 61 text messages from Cain. When the reporter called Cain's private cell phone there was no answer but, Cain returned the call within minutes.
Do you really think Obama was worried about Cain or that he ( Cain ) would dilute the Black votes ? Do you know that polls of Cain vs Obama have Obama getting 96% of the Black votes to Cain's 4%. The truth is that Obama would love Cain to be the GOP presidental candidate, he has no reason to fear Cain nor try to bring Cain down. Democrats have never condidered Herman to be an viable candidate that is why their ads have gone after Romney. If anyone is to gaain from this latest scandal it is Newt or Michele , that's right a member of the GOP. Cain says at a rally that this is not going to make him step down aand quit, now it is up to his wife, tomorrow something else. The answer to your question is yes.

I love how when the media is REPORTING what candidates say and do that is contrary to their own interest that the media is picking on them but when that same candidate is basking in the light of good media coverage the media is fair and balanced. Sour grapes will never be sweet.

Mr. Cain and others may wish to consider the following, whether or not he is nominated:
1. Were reimbursement statements, signed by him as an officer of the NRA, with a fiduciary duty to the organization, accurate, false or misleading statements?
A. If not accurate: does the Board have a fiduciary duty to seek to recoup: (1) the payments with interest; (2) any salary, pension, retirement, insurance or other benefits he may have obtained under the representation and his fiduciary duty that at all times he was in compliance with all applicable law?
2. If false statements were made or key facts omitted making the use of the statements to secure money, reimbursement or other consideration misleading: would the Board be wise to have a review such as the Louis Freeh Penn State inquiry--independent, unquestionable integrity, outstanding experience and adequate resources and time--by forensic accountants to advise the Board?
3. Does the Board have an obligation to report any alleged or possible embezzlement, theft, misuse, misappropriation or fraud it may discover to the legal authorities? (Would the Board separately be wise to do so, to protect the organization and themselves individually themselves from having, or having an arguable defense against, alleged claimed knowledge, complicity, recklessness or negligence?
4. Does Mr. Cain have any indemnification and insurance protection from NRA under these circumstances? Who would pay his defense costs, now or later, if he is sued by NRA under their own fiduciary duty to protect the resources of the association from waste, fraud, abuse and/or misuse?
5. Will the result of the reimbursement and payment review be made public to try to recoup a portion of the already-tarnished reputation of the NRA and perhaps members also?
POTENTIAL TAX AND OTHER POTENTIAL LIABILITY
6. If Mr. Cain received or directed payment of any "13 year" or other money or consideration as so-called "reimbursement" for the benefit of the NRA, and it was not in the service of NRA business and interests, is it income to him?
A. If so, did he report it as taxable income for 13 years (along with any other non-NRA purpose reimbursement, payment or consideration), and is that a pattern, or potentially a pattern of alleged tax fraud?
B.Ginger White, and a prosecutor, would not be anonymous.
7. For the future: will a grand jury be empaneled and, if so, what decision will be made concerning granting Ginger White transactional (complete) immunity?

According to Mr Cain, the stories that have surfaced about sexual misconduct and an extramarital affair are taking an emotional toll on his wife.
