Will the newest recent allegations Herman Cain seal his fate?
Herman Cain told senior campaign staff members Tuesday that he's "reassessing" his campaign in the wake of a fresh allegation that he engaged in a 13-year-long extramarital affair.
Steve Grubbs, the candidate's Iowa campaign chairman, confirms to NBC News that Cain said he's taking a step back, much as he did after his finish in the Ames Straw Poll in August, to evaluate the direction of his campaign. The call included Cain's 50 state directors, and the reassessment will occur over the next two days.
This reassessment coincides with a new allegation from Ginger White, an Atlanta woman who says that she and Cain engaged in an affair for well over a decade, one that ended only recently. Cain has denied the affair.
Cain reiterated his claim, made yesterday in reaction to the new allegation, that White was simply a friend who he had sought to help financially, and that nothing inappropriate had happened between the two of them.
The former Godfather's Pizza CEO, who has faced a string of different allegations of sexual harassment, also said that he had no immediate plans to cancel his campaign events; he still intends to deliver a major foreign policy speech tonight in Michigan.
But Cain acknowledged the emotional toll that the claims against him had taken on his family. He said yesterday on CNN that he would stay in the campaign as long as his wife continued to believe he should stay in the race.
In the same interview, though, Cain opened the door to a possible exit from the race.
"It's just the way it is, but I'm not going to allow this sort of thing to cause me to drop out simply because it's tough on me. I don't want it to be tough on my family. And there comes a point that if it's tough on my family, I have to consider that at that particular point in time," he said.
Asked whether he would drop out if the race became too tough, Cain said: "I'll make that decision depending upon the circumstances and how it is impacting my wife and my family. That's my number one concern by all of these accusations."
***UPDATE*** Cain spokesman J.D. Gordon tells NBC News: "It's a reassessment of where we stand and the road ahead, similar to other times in the campaign's history. We're looking forward to getting back on message tonight with the Foreign Policy and National Security speech at Hillsdale College in Michigan."

That sound you hear folks, is the flush of what's left of the Cain Train!
Where is the denial of the newest allegations he promised?
Like Hermie didn't know his mistress of 13 years wouldn't come forward at some point?
What kind of ego-maniac would put his wife & children through this kind of public humiliation?
Now I understand WHY they were out of sight on the campaign trail!
Hermie - take your 'pepperoni' & GO HOME!
He should have thought of his family before playing with other people's mushrooms!
Can we avoid the saucy humor?
Go home Cain......for it's been once upon a time for a while now.
Gee, Paul, I didn't mean to be so cheesey!
Okay, that joke wasn't fully baked.
Yikes! THIS is why the "Fourth Estate" needs to vet candidates properly.
Speaking of baked, at least Herman doesn't seem to have one in the oven.
Do you think the Koch Suckers are experiencing some buyers remorse right about now?
Off Topic Breaking News - Jaguars fire Jack Del Rio and sell team to Shadid Khan!! Team is to stay in Jacksonville.
Shadid Khan? Isn't that the tiger from the Jungle Book?
OK, so Cain is out. After Iowa and New Hampshire we will be left with Dr. Paul, Newt and Mitt... Perry, Santorum, Bachman, Huntsman and Johnson will be DOA after the 1st two primaries. It's getting better and better for Ron Paul every day.
It's begining to look like a Ron Paul Christmas!
Anyone notice that after 4 years in the spotlight, not 1 woman (or man) accused Obama of sexual harrasment or of cheating on his wife...that shows you right of the bat the kind of person Obama is compared to most of the scum around.
Dagnabbit. I really wanted him to be the Republican candidate. It would have been so easy for Obama to be reelected. *sigh* Oh well, we still have Bachman, Paul and Gingrich.
He has a lot of egomaniacal talk, but always says nothing. He dances around every issue and at the end, always leaves the questioner wondering where he stands on anything. This clown (which is truly what he is) has no business running for the highest office in the country. He can't get over himself long enough to be of any help to anyone else. I don't think we can tolerate another narcissist in the White House. He's finished, but doesn't appear to be aware of the fact.
Feisty - I don't think Herman ever expected to receive all the attention he has received because I don't think he ever expected to be leading in the polls. He was just trying to sell more books and jack up his speaking fees. It isn't Cain's fault that the Republican field is such a sorry lot.
I'd say the same thing about Newt. There is no way Newt, a slime bag that was run out of politics by the Republican Party, actually expected to win the Republican nomination.
Both Cain and Gingrich have huge egos, that can't be denied. But they aren't total morons (well, Cain maybe, but Gingrich isn't.)
For writers of comedies this election is manna from heaven. Con men and doofusses (what is the plural of doofus?) accidentally end up the top competitors in the Republican field? Perfect, only please, no Eddie Murphy and keep the fart jokes for the scene in the Minneapolis Airport restroom (wide stance plus farting equals funny!)
differnet: Don't worry. The repubs still have many more chances to shoot themselves in the foot - although, they are running out of feet to shoot at.
doofi
I would say the Koch brothers aren't very smart business men. They backed Walker, Cain and a bunch of other losers.
Nope. They'll just mosey on down to the clone shop and fire up the next one.
What scares ME is that there might be a clone out there WORSE than Scott Walker.
Anyone who thinks the Koch brothers don't have a contingency plan is a sucker, for sure.
He might as well quit. He lost me, when he came up with that insane 999 plan.
The headline should read:
After yet another public humiliation suffered by Cain's wife they both decide the phony run for President can be discarded due to the fact that the fraudulent book sales income has been met.
Cain seems to have gotten more bang for his buck then the Koch brothers ever did !
Another con man running for a president exposed... vote Ron Paul, the only honest man in the race!
What was he thinking..of course all the dirt and past will be coming out if you're running to be president of the USA! Welcome to the real world CAIN! I see a divorce and soon.
I've heard that 'ginger' was very good, especially when mixed with Tea.....
It calms an upset stomach!
The Paul supporters are out in packs today, and I'm sure Cain is done, especially if his wife didn't know about the affair.
So if Cain leaves his support will go to? ............................
After 8 years in office... no one accused GW either...
So if that is the measure of a good man... then right now... GW is more than twice the man Pres. Yomama is.
Wait for it... wait for it...
(show me the clown nose, fisty!)
Just goes to show what Mr. Pizza Executive really knows.
The decision to help Ginger with her "finances" at 4 a.m. is the same bad decision that has helped to ruin many a man's "business."
Maybe not, but there still were a lot of rumors. Don't tell me you didn't hear them. This particular photoshopped picture probably sums up those rumors best --
http://www.pissedonpolitics.com/?p=1025
@Sick, yep, twice the man at deficit spending.
I always thought Cain was a decoy to let Romney fly under the radar, but with Cain imploding so fast, Romney will have to shoulder some more of the heat from Newtinator.
As far Cain, he will still garner huge speaking fees, so I am not shedding a tear for him. I hope his family will be ok in the long run, for their sake.
REALLY, AM?
Now you are openly referring to "photoshopped" pictures as evidence?
How pathetic!
------------------------------------------------------------
Eric... you might want to check those number again... and while you're at it... check the timeframe for that spending.
Who spent how much in half the time?
-------------------------------------------------------------
(show me the clown nose, fisty!)
Maybe, however it sure looks like a Barack Obama New Year!
Read more closely, Bitter Boy.
I never said the photo was evidence of anything but the rumor.
Personally, I was surprised, and more than a bit skeptical. I would not have guessed that there was a woman alive, other than Laura, who always looks a bit sedated to me, who would have him.
He should stay in. He best represents the republican party.
Um, she's showing you photoshopped pictures as evidence that there are photoshopped pictures.
Not as evidence of an affair, but as evidence that people thought there was one.
God, are you really that clueless?
Mr Cain said it was not the "Becki Becki-stan-stan" or blank response to the Lybia question, or general incompetence to run a nation like ours that was causing him all the consternation, but something he called 'akka-zations'.
Though not a big fan of Herman Cain... what is it with this woman? Was she scorned? Was she paid for the information? Is she going to write a book? Movie? Honestly, she is for lack of a better word... a trollop!
What's to reassess, the campaign is toast. Nobody was going to let him anywhere near the White House in the first place.
@Quit, please stop bickering.
Can none of the candidates pronounce United States, and not have it come out Unina States? I thought it was only Bush, but apparently it's contagious.
It's time to bring back Pat Paulson....too bad he died in 1997. Now there was a great candidate for president. I always loved his speeches on the Smo' Bro's.
I'm in no way a fan of Herman Cain, but I find it annoying that instead of leaving the race because he is an idiot on all political matters, he may leave the race because he can't keep his pants on or hands off women.
Oh course Obama has never had anyone come forward with a sexual accusation, sheep can't talk.
No Henry... I am not clueless... I got it... BTW... perhaps reading comprehension is not your strongest skill... I never stated what it was evidence of... you all read into my statement as you always do. You really should stop that...
However, the fact that she posted those PHOTOSHOPPED pictures is EVIDENCE that she has nothing but RUMORS! (Which is evidently enough to get a conservative declared guilty on this rag of a website.)
BTW Henry... Why so angry? are you upset that GW was so clean or that he is twice the man Pres. Yomama is? (based upon LouNJ's definition any way.)
(now spew your hatred my way big boy! go ahead... it doesn't bother me a bit :-)
oh yeah...
(show me the clown nose, fisty!)
Tank, maybe she just thought that a man like this shouldn't be running for a office this high. Ever think of that??
Its time for a "LIE DETECTOR TEST" for this man.
Since he isn't lying, there shouldn't be a problem!
So, if he's telling the truth, that all these women are liars, and that he NEVER HAD SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THOSE WOMEN, then simply prove it! Step up to the plate and PROVE IT!
Now is the right time!
And that makes Cain a .... saint?
Please.
What is it with men, anyway? Even if she was "scorned" or "paid," that doesn't change the facts, does it?
Why do you feel the need to attack her? In your mind, does that somehow validate Cain?
You call HER a "trollop" but SHE wasn't cheating on anyone. Only Cain was doing that.
And exactly who are you to question HER motives? It's about time someone started questioning Cain's motives.
He's the one who lies and cheats, and deceives his wife and family, and demonizes anyone who calls him out on it.
But apparently, that's all right with you.
Conservative family values. Catch the sickness.
America will never elect a black man as president.
This man should be ashamed of himself.....TYPICAL RIGHT-WING HYPOCRITE!....This shows you what the President meant when he said:HOOD-WINK,BAMBOOZLED!....How the gop-teatards where easily led over the cliff with the whole clown car........This is the realty we live in.....Sad for his wife....She should hood-wink his ass into divorce court(see gingrich)......Oh well! Another GOP-TEATARD BITES THE DUST!.........NEXT! ALL ABOARD! Obama/Biden 2012
@Sick, Bush raised spending 88%, and Obama just 7.2%.
http://ourfuture.org/blog-entry/2011083428/three-charts-email-your-right-wing-brother-law
If it was consensual sex, it doesn't matter, does it? At least that is what we've been told in previous situations.
Spokesman translation:
"Even I don't know if we can lie ourselves out of this one"
Cain - give it up. I feel for your wife, who's been made to look like a bigger and bigger fool as she's stood by you as these women, one after another, have come forward.
My, my, Bitter Boy. Evidently you and Newt Gingrich have a lot in common.
Anyone who understands what you said and calls you out on it is lying.
Why am I not surprised?
Ask Newt. He knows everything. But be forewarned that the answer will vary, depending on whether we're talking about him or President Clinton, and how badly he feels a need to dispose of Herman Cain as an opponent, as opposed to calling himself out for his own infidelities.
But at least you'll know where he stands --
-- on quicksand.
Feisty asks
"What kind of ego-maniac would put his wife & children through this kind of public humiliation?"
Answer: Bill Clinton!
AM - She was cheating on Cain's wife. 13 years? Think she got enough "help" from him and to turn around and bite the hand that "fed" her. Trollop stands. Court adjourned.
It seems a little late for Cain to be concerned about the welfare of his family. Sounds like just another excuse out of just another conservative "flavor of the month". That's one thing I'll say for Gingrich. All his skeletons are out of the closet already...or maybe not, who knows. I'll put it this way: even if more illicit secrets come out about Gingrich, it wouldn't come as much of a surprise, more like a continuation of an existing pattern. I'm not really sure that makes Gingrich presidential material, but that's for the voters to decide. Heh.
That's it, Cains toast!
yeah, that's right Herm the Sperm, all you care about is your family!! I think all you care about is dipping your breadstick in as much sauce as possible.
Certainly no Cain fan here, good riddance. What amazes me is that he never took care of this "skeleton" before he began his campaign. It has nothing to do with party. Clinton, Roosevelt, Kennedy et. al. are well known for having mistresses and, perhaps with the exception of Clinton, were able to manage it.
There are two problems here. 1) Information about an affair became public, and Cain denied the truth. Clinton's denial would have sunk him had it been revealed during his initial campaign and not when he was in his second term and nothing left to run for. 2) You don't have the foresight to anticipate something like this being revealed and when it is, you have no plan to manage it.
That's why he shouldn't be President. Most Americans don't really care about your private life, they do care if you're inept.
Hey all you fighters for lower taxes, smaller Government, and all that's holly in America, how come the republicans are refusing to extend the Payroll Tax cuts? The primary battle against extending those tax cuts is being led by the same idiot that headed the Republican delegation of the supper Committee; you know, the one that said "no way in He!! would he agree to raising taxes in order to reach a deal!" Now, this same maggot is against extending the payroll Tax cuts?!?!? Say What!!
Could it be that these so called republican representatives of the people really are representatives of the rich and screw the working class?! The payroll tax cuts benefit working folks, more than the rich. Dividends, Capital Gains, Profits, etc., are the income of the wealthy, thus our republican friends don't want those sources to be taxed. Let's , instead, raise taxes on the income of the working people -- Thank You Very much!! Is there a more blatant manifestation of the true intentions of these money grubbing pigs?!?
You right wingers can continue spinning this no-tax crap all you want, but reality is getting harder and harder to ignore. These Tea Party Repugnants (and their messiah--Grover Nordquist) are there for the wealthy and no one else. The sooner all of you disciples comprehend it, the sooner we can get to forcing these self-serving maggots in politics to start looking out for the middle class.
As for Cain, CAIN WHO?!
Defination of herman cain in the encyclopedia Britannica:A gop-teabagger right-wing two-timing,Hood-wink,Bamboozled LIAR.Who once ran for President of the United-States in 2011........But fell off the cliff with the clown car of the republican cult party. Obama/Biden 2012
What type of "language" is that: "Cains toast (properly Cain's toast)"? Drug addicts use that type of language when their "pipe" is black and no longer any good. (Both crack and meth)
What does it mean politically? In the kitchen it means that a peice of bread went into the toaster, and came out "ready to eat".
Looks like Cain has already been eat up with "denial"! LOL
Feisty and crew,
So it is okay for Clinton to play hide the salami but not Cain? Just asking how that works with you all? Besides I thought all of you believed that truth was relative and there was no moral high ground...except your opinions.
Cain never was a serious contender for anything anyway.
Anna Molly- The point would be: What's her beef with Cain at this point in time? You can have any opinion of her that you want, but the question remains as to why she felt it was so important NOW to come out and publicly flame Cain? I mean, they were together for 13 years.....so she couldn't have been disenfranchised all that time, right? It's the timing that makes me question her motives.....
I don't think anyone has ever questioned Obama's moral fiber or family values. I think the biggest problem is he doesn't know how to run the country, which doesn't make him a bad person, but it does make him a bad President.
Clinton's denial wouldn't have been POSSIBLE during the campaign,...and trust me - the Paula Jones' came out of the woodwork,...people were just fed up with Republicans and the Independent at the time was mostly viable. I mean it was a pretty good three way.
um, should I rephrase?
Notsosure10
Don't try to swat this away. Clinton was a sleaze bag. But, he was already the president when we found out. Had all of that come out before he was elected, he would not have been elected. Why would you knowingly elect a sleaze ball to the presidency? Is that your twisted moral justification for sticking to the party line, no matter what? If it is, you're a very sad individual, and another idication of the hypocricy of the right wing..
How's that fund raising now, Herman?
confused,
Or how about when Clinton was "outed" that he didn't resign? Just because it happened AFTER he was in office still makes him a sleazebag, right?
Funny ... that's sounds like what cheaters say ... when they're caught.
But technically it isn't true.
SHE had no legal or moral obligation to Cain's wife. HE'S the only one who did.
In case you hadn't heard, they call it a "vow." And only the man and wife take it.
And what do you think HE got?
Quid pro quo, I'd say.
That's Latin, in case you didn't know.
Not so fast, Pseudo-lawyer ...
Answer my original question ... exactly what does that make Cain?
I'll be waiting for your brief on that. It's sure to be a hoot.
My guess is that you'll say "victim."
Serial victim, more like it. Thirteen years. LoLoL
What kind of egomaniac would put their wife and kids through this cheating Chinese torture nail pulling clown circus coarse?"Hermie Cain" would.
Looks like this is some sort of ego maniac pattern "Edwards, Newt Now Cain" The year of the crazies. Happy voting GOP/Tea Baggers/ FUX NEWS.
Everyone -- I'm enjoying the chance to see all of your avatars.
Mine, for those who might wonder, is Jupiter (in the background) and Io (the pizza moon). Precious few people know how much that means to me, but some do.
Have a lovely afternoon, everyone.
JK1963
Once a sleazebag, always a sleazebag. You can't erase history. The only saving grace regarding Clinton, is that he actually did something good for the country...Go Figure. The fact that he didn't resign is just an indication of the mind-set of Ego-maniacs -- they do not quit willingly.
Since you folks seem to want to go back to meaningless history, here's a bit of trivia. I was stationed in Italy during the Clinton circus. The Italians could not understand why Americans wanted Clinton out for being a sleazebag. No matter how I tried to explain morals to them, they could not understand. They would tell me that, in their country they would love to have a politician who slept with every thing under the sun, as long as he didn't raid the coffee jar. To them, promiscutiy had taken a back seat to honesty in the political arena. They saw Clinton as a capable leader and wished they had someone similar running their Government.
Isn't amazing how morality, integrity, ethics, etc., tend to swing based on what one feels is important. The hard part is keeping a balnce of all of these values such that one can look himslef/herself in the mirror.
mozzie-600 - re:#1.14 I couldn't agree with you more. obama certainly has been lacking and after clinton, we certainly don't need another do-nothing narcissist just tasking up space in Le Maison Blanc.
Sounds like the 13 year trist was the KO punch.
Clara, no a threeway is good!
JK1983,
Why didn't Clinton resign? Because he didn't do anything unconstitutional. It was morally reprehensible, and he never could have won another election (although he had surprisingly high approval ratings when he left office). The fact is, Americans won't elect adulterers, proven or not, so supporting or defending Cain at this point is useless. Move on. This month's not-Romney flavor is Gingrich, but I think December might be some kind of Paul/Santorum swirl. Which is kind of gross if you think about it.
Like Palin and others ... Cain's another one the GOP was willing to unleash on us without knowing the true character of the person ...
And beyond wishful thinking ... Cain is who he always was ... a con artist!
And for all of you Obama haters ... I think he has done a very good job considering the cards he was dealt and the storm of GOB petty & Un-American opposition!!!
Two words for all you Obama fans... Vera Baker. Hillary had information on her. Michelle wanted her off the campaign. Why have her pictures been scrubbed from the internet? What kind of payoff does it take to close your company and become silent? She once was Obama's most effective campaign fund raisers and where is she now? Apparently, Obama isn't any different than any other man in power.
confused,
I agree that as a whole America is more concerned about a person's private life than his professional life (just look at the posts on here regarding Cain or the obsession with Obama's birth certificate). But I think the concern that we are electing a "morally" correct person is an element that makes us different than alot of other countries. Right or wrong, I just think that is the way most Americans look at a candidate. It goes to the same notion that we wouldn't in today's world elect someone short and overweight. We like to see our leaders as strong individuals.
AM - No moral obligation to leave another woman's man alone? Okay. Hey ya wanna meet for coffee. My wife won't mind. ; )
And it makes Cain a Moron for thinking there would never be any consequences for his stupidity and thinking with the wrong head (if all is true).
Oh Oh Oh I know....your moon is huge and always out!
I remember, as many of you should as well, the deep humiliation this nation went through when President Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky White House scenario blew up. I will never forget the pained look of embarrassment on Hillary Clinton's face and the courage it took to stay married to that guy.
No First Lady and no Nation should have to deal with a man who can't keep his pants up, fly closed and hands to himself.. Especially, if he is President!... It's a shame, I liked Herman Cain's political style; however, I love America.. We don't need a repeat of the past... It's time for Herman Cain to apologise to his wife, the nation and fade quietly away...
Bottom line... where there is smoke, there is fire... and, Herman Cain has struck too many matches...
Is there a moderator for this vine? I find the avatar for Feisty Red Head to be vulgar and obscene and it should be removed. If a conservative posting here had an avatar like that I am sure the moderator would revoke their privileges. Maybe her privileges should be revoked. What say you?
Enough of the misdirection. Let's talk about what candidate you support, shall we?
Cain was already sunk...this article is a waste of propaganda space MSN! More Newt hit pieces please!
Though it's fun to laugh at the zombies, frauds, and nuts in the Republican primaries, history has proven that the Gross Old Party and its now globalized corporate backers have no ethical limits when it comes to lies, dirty tricks, vengeance, and corruption -- in short, they'll do anything as long as it gets them where they need to be.
If nothing else, the GOP is well-organized, like a top crime syndicate. In this volatile environment, that's scary -- and the election is still a year away. Don't put anything past them.
Okay...this one cracked me up, so I had to share. Apparently, Hermie's latest defender is Arizona State Senator, Lori Klein. Her defense is as follows:
First of all, I would beg to differ with Ms. Klein's assessment of herself, but maybe that's just me. Secondly, isn't this kind of like those women who say "Well he didn't hit on me so he MUST be gay!"
Well we've already dealt with a President(Bill Clinton) that couldn't keep his pants zipped up and he's still got a great reputation with most Democrats. Seems to me he didn't do too bad as President either. Why should I worry about who the candidate has had sex with? I'd like to know if the DNC had anything to do with pressuring this woman to come out. Seems like typical dirty politics. Can't beat a man on the issues? Destroy his reputation. Doesn't it bother anyone else that this is what American Politics has become? We aren't trying to solve the country's problems because we are too busy worrying about who's sleeping with who.
I also have to say that I'm surprised that Feisty is allowed to use such statements on her avatar. News for Dumb Fux? Would it be okay if that was emblazoned over the NBC logo?
@Mozzie600
"Maybe, however it sure looks like a Barack Obama New Year!"
The only way Barry Obama will have his way is if the Republicans commit political suicide. At this point however, it wouldn't suprise me if they slit their wrists instead of endorsing Ron Paul.
to; Paul M in Wbridge
"avoid all saucy humor." I am no good at humor but this dog and pony show deserves all the hilarity it can get and I am personally upset at your statement. It has inhibited the jokers I had hoped to see on this thread. Please refrain from suppressing saucy humor in the future.
The Koch Bros and Mr. Norquist are on their way to Alaska as we speak seeking another loony to fill the soon to be vacant spot in their dog and pony show "the Crazy Eights" - a reality show around a political campagin which campagin has been designed soley of the purpose of providing fodder for late night TV talkshows, the Comedy Channel and SNL.....I mean what else could it be none of the "stars" of the show are qualifed to Chair a PTA meeting much less any higher political office.
I just can't wait for next "season" imagine Stupid Sarah vs Mad Michelle in debate...tickets will be hard to come by for that one.
I think there is a huge problem that is being overlooked here. David and Charles Koch, Gover Norwquist, big business. Karl Rove (yuk); who ever is funneling all this money to these "candidates" has one agenda. They want a Manchurian Candidate, they can use as a puppet, just like George Bush. Anyone of these jokers, who gets the GOP nod, will have a hand picked vice president, the big money wants to run the show. Cheney was a perfect sycophant, for the blood money he took, to rule the OUR country. Oh yes, every once in awhile, Bush would open his stupid mouth and then the talking heads, would try to cover W's inane blathering.
If the Tea Party thinks they on the correct path, allowing any of these xanthippes, run for president, the United States Of America will be extinct and we will have another revolution. Our country will no longer be a world leader, we will be more like Iraq or Iran. We will have a tyrant as a leader and what used to be the middle class, will be jailed and tortured.
After Bush was elected the second time, I lost faith in the intelligence of voters. I don't care if the president is a Republican or a Democrat, I just want him to be elected fair and square. I also, want him to be, for the greater good of all Americans, not just the ones with the most power and money.
@ jollyoldsoul1 --
One thing's for darned sure. YOU'LL never know.
Have a nice ... whatever it is they do for eternity in Hades.
passiveobserver,
I agree that Clinton didn't do anything unconstitutional (although he did commit perjury). My point is that did he really need to do something unconstitutional for him to step down? I mean he was so morally wrong that he couldn't have just resigned just because it was the "right" thing to do? I just think that given confused earlier comment, that we are looking for that "perfect" leader where one never truely exists.
@Jollyoldsoul - Can I ask why you chose to use your current wifes pic as your avatar?
Are you attempting to convey she was a step up from the 4th JOAH?
President Clinton had to put up with years of investigation, from Whitewater to Vince Foster's suicide. Too bad they didn't investigate Bush and Cheney, they should be behind bars, for murder, treason and embezzlement!
Take that back,
You know...if you really don't like America, there are plenty of other countries that will listen to you.
hermie- if you dont have a wife after this "blame yourself"
if you lose half of all your wealth "blame yourself"
does "reassesing campain" = "consider becoming a porn star"?
Ah yes, the celebrity politicians. Only in America.. let's see the incentives:
Palin: books, speaking tours, interviews, celebrity dancing
Trump: books, speaking tours, interviews, syndicated TV Show
Cain: books, speaking tours, interviews, booty!!!!
like so many other republican figures, he will quit under the auspices of victim of character assassination from a 'lying left wing liberal media spin machine'.
the reality is, he got all the press attention he needed to never have to worry about having to do an honest day's work. he is now going to do the Palin thing, overcharge people to hear him spout bumper sticker and other ridiculous right wing slogans.
he laundered all the campaign contribution he got into his bank account by having his campaign buy his books to hand it out to contributors. ever wondered why so many books are 'new york times best seller' even though they are garbage? hint: it has nothing to do with how good it is, and everything to do with how well it sold. the garbage he authored is now a 'new york times best seller' because his campaign bought it by the bulk.
yes. we liberals can cheer that this lunatic won't ever be president. but to him, it was never about being president. it was about making money. he is laughing all the way to the bank.
Herman Cain has proven his qualifications to be President by multitasking women on a Clintonian level.
"Turn out the lights, the party's over!" My heart goes out to Mrs. Cain. However I can't believe she didn't know her husband for what he was, a womanizing sexual predator! She must have closed her eyes and kept them shut through lots. Much like Mrs. Sandusky and Mrs. Fine did. Wake up ladies!
Hermie has some 'splain to do with Mrs. Cain. Bet he says "nein nein nein" alot!
Little did we know he was mimicking Hitler and not SimCity.
Hermie has some 'splain to do with Mrs. Cain. Bet he says "nein nein nein" alot!
Don't envy this 9er at all.
Here is Dandy Don singing "the party's over".

As someone who used to be married to a man who was a serial cheater, I can tell you that it's very likely Mrs. Cain knew something was going on, but likely didn't want to find out exactly what it may have been. She chose to ignore the little signs that separately didn't mean much, but together added up to a whole lot of nonsense.....and heartbreak.
AnaBanana,
Uh you left out Mrs Clinton.
Actually, phinephancy -- I'm guessing that Cain has been doing a lot more "yes, yes, yes" than "no, no, no" with Mrs. Cain these days.
Yes, you may have a new car.
Yes, you may have a fur coat.
Yes, you may have a vacation in Italy.
Yes, you may have a diamond necklace ....
That's right. One would be very surprised to learn how "visually impared" one becomes regarding infidelities when there is political clout and money involved. It's amazing how tolerable the affairs are as long as there is some benefit received.
@ the thinker --
I was actually kidding. It's not my choice to make. And that's not what I would choose personally. Quite the opposite, in fact.
I was really just positing what a man like Cain, who appears to believe that satisfaction can be bought, would do.
Clinton was never a "do-nothing," whatever you may think about President Obama.
The Republicans should be embarrassed about the line up of possible candidates. None of them is worth being dog catcher. Contrary to popular belief, I see Ron Paul as the most dangerous. He is all about freedom from the Federal Government but if you listen to him, he's all for the states being even more intrusive in our lives.
The Republicans and their Tea Party handlers must think we've all forgotten the Bush Cheney years where their people took this country and much of the world down the drain. Do they think we can't see they are the party of NO that want to do it all over again.
When the Orange Man Boner asks "where are the jobs" I'd like to punch him out.
Bill Clinton deserves a punch in the mouth as well. Not for the blow job, but for pointing his finger at us and lying.
ISN'T a Man still INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN AMERICA?? Or doesn't that include A BLACK MAN???
@ the thinker --
Never mind. I see you didn't mean that comment for me.
What ever happen to that 200% Cain was floating out there about his love and support for his wife!
You have a predator ... an adulterer ... and a person who has a problem with the simple truth!
Did he "REALLY" think this was not going to come out?? If he wasn't such an arrogant sob ... you might feel sorry for him!
Pure speculation, but how in the world could Mrs. Cain not know? With her defense against Cain's accusers, she apparently wouldn't believe this either, even with Cain admitting he knew Ms. White and gave her money. Herman had his own separate apartment as president of the Restaurant Association. His wife didn't attend any of those functions, and now he doesn't take her on the road to campaign. No wonder Cain thought he could talk the country into voting for him. His wife apparently believes everything he says. That, or there were too many perks to walk out. This could change now.
@testacle- The bar is much lower in the court of public opinion and right now the evidence that we have is pretty damning even for a black man! Just like the blue dress was for Clinton and the New wife for GinGrinch.
No. We are no longer a nation of laws but rather a nation of libtards. If you are a self professed conservitive, regardless of race/nationality/sex, you are "guilty" no matter what. One only needs to look at history to see that.
Testacle
"ISN'T a Man still INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN AMERICA?? Or doesn't that include A BLACK MAN???"
First of all ... Cain said that "Blacks were brainwashed" ... must have been speaking about himself ... AND ... how many women will need to come forward before the blind will see????
SLANDER PARTY INVITATION
Calling all Democrats, Racists, and Cain Haters, today is your day. Character assassination, lies and slander, old allegations -- SETTLED AND SEALED, and now personal indiscretion have brought cause for the Left to celebrate. Cotton Patch Democrats unite in your love of Liberal slavery and your hatred of proud Black conservative men who don't need either you personally or big government. Pop the champagne and celebrate for ruining a man's life. F You All.
Greg Parker-626855 ... a lot of fancy words used in place of "Good Riddance"!!!
AND ... who was on their knees worshiping a man before knowing him!!!
Relief is not necessarily "celebration"! AND ... a cool beer will do!!!!!!!
In all seriousness, and sarcasms aside, Mr. Parker is right on. Cain was the ONLY rational response to a "Cotton Patch" Democrat like (Princess) Nancy Pelosi.
Who can possibly believe most of these women were not encouraged and coaxed to come forward?? And how long can anyone expect any normal man to stand up to these sort of attacks, whether innocent or guilty?
The country should be thankful that Herman Cain cared about his country enough and had the guts to run and make his contributions to the national dialog. He made many very good points and his lack of political polish was a breath of fresh air.
WATCH ALL THESE WOMEN DISAPPEAR AS SOON AS MR CAIN DROPS OUT OF THE RACE!
P.S. As a woman, I don't know if Mr. Cain did these things or not, but I can promise I would never have voted for Bill Clinton if I had known WHAT HE WOULD DO IN THE OVAL OFFICE W/MONICA LEWINSKY (AN INTERN) WHILE ON DUTY 24/7 Leading our Country.
Mr. Cain's rumored infractions aren't even close yet. Why not give him a little space on these issues and let him explain if he choses. As I recall Clinton didn't explain Jennifer Flowers.
Test ... you wrote "In all seriousness, and sarcasms aside"....
If you were in fact "serious" you wouldn't be taking it for granted that "Herman Cain cared about his country enough and had the guts to run" ...
Having the guts to run ... knowing his closet ... hits the nail on the head ... love for his country ... being true to his party ... it more fits "love for money and power"!
And ... it's very telling when you wrote "most of these women" ... MOST ... WOW!!!
Cain already had his plate full with having no knowledge of Domestic or Foreign Policies.
But what an old fool for thinking his unacceptable behavior would never become public. Especially in this day and age. Just like Edwards, why run for President when you have the type of skeletons that would Publicly destroy your political career.
Cain's constantly blaming others for exposing the sexual harassment claims (and two payouts). First Perry, then Romney, and lately the Democrats. He really needs to make up his mind.
Who's left to blame for exposing his 13 year affair? I bet he's worried what his ex-lover will divulge, if he offends or ticks her off too much..
But on a lighter note, he's become a Comic's ideal joke.....
newscover; ... who was on their knees worshiping a man before knowing him!!!
It was all the obots in 2008= now look what we've got, an epic failure!
"My heart goes out to Mrs. Cain... ...these ladies should wake up."
Jeez, Anna B. you need to stop reading those romance novels.
This is for Testacle - She said she never would have voted for Clinton if she knew what he did ----
Then Testacle - you probably wouldn't have voted for Bush I - he had Jennifer Fitzgerald - 20 years I believe - plus 6 or 7 more - George the II - lover in Texas mysteriously committed suicide with a shotgun no less - not really a weapon of choice for a woman, especially since her arms were not long enough to pull the trigger - then there was Eisenhower with his female driver - everyone knew about that one, let me see FDR had his secretary - Eleanor was fully aware of her
All I can say if "walls can talk" the Oval Office would have a lot to say
When Mitterand was alive he said a leader should have a strong "libido" and when he died his two mistresses and his wife were at his funeral
I am not condoning Herman Cain for his liason, because with all his attempted seductions and his 13 year affair, he is a cheat (used NRA funds) and a liar and if that wasn't enough throughly uninformed of every topic
As Ginger White said "Herman Cain loves Herman Cain"
@Testacle,
No chance Cain's just a scumbag in politics, right??? No, now how could that be possible?
like so many other republican figures, he will quit under the auspices of victim of character assassination from a 'lying left wing liberal media spin machine'.
the reality is, he got all the press attention he needed to never have to worry about having to do an honest day's work. he is now going to do the Palin thing, overcharge people to hear him spout bumper sticker and other ridiculous right wing slogans.
he laundered all the campaign contribution he got into his bank account by having his campaign buy his books to hand it out to contributors. ever wondered why so many books are 'new york times best seller' even though they are garbage? hint: it has nothing to do with how good it is, and everything to do with how well it sold. the garbage he authored is now a 'new york times best seller' because his campaign bought it by the bulk.
yes. we liberals can cheer that this lunatic won't ever be president. but to him, it was never about being president. it was about making money. he is laughing all the way to the bank.
Lynchings,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,still part of democratis policy. The silence is deafening when it comes to investigating their current messiah,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,more so than Clinton's behavior.
God Forbid a black man step out of line and threaten them.
Their first reaction? Break out the white women and start screaming like it was 1911,,,,,,,,,no 2011. "Lookie, Lookie,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Herman is touching the white women!!!!!!"
History ...... still twisting it is a part of the Tea Party's policy. If any ideology was for lynching in past history, it was Conservatives/Repubs/(Tea Party), Einstein.
Yeah all the white women are fantasies to make Hermie look bad. Go and get the latest Ann Coulter book Gomer - she lives off of people like you...
AnaB compares Cain to Hitler and no one says a thing. Why is it the left can do this, but if someone from the right uses Pres. Obama's name in the same sentence as Hitler, the world is coming to an end.
It's no wonder the extreems of either side never listen to the other.
And yet it is the "liberal" media hounding Cain out of the race,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,because of his race.
Proof? Thus far none exists,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not a single shread of paper, incriminating text, phone message, tweet, card, love note, photo, reciept, security camera video,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nothing.
Still waiting.
As far as history. History proves me right,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ignoring history does not make you right.
It just shows the Liberal bias and hypocrisy of the media nowadays. Clinton got a pass on his infidelities and they were proven with his DNA on Monica's blue dress.
The racist Liberal media has already passed judgement and lynched Herman Cain on heresay alone. Shameful.
Wonder where his supporters will go? I'm guessing mostly they'll split between Gingrich and Perry.
My guess is they go to Newt. He has the same moral values.
Could Republicans really nominate a lizard for President?
phine: Yes!
and... Cain is giving a "major foreign policy speech" ?!??!! really?
Personally I do hope Mr. Cain bows out of the race. I would hate to see another morally bankrupt slimy horndog disrespect the Oval Office and turn it into just another rape room...
Aren't newts amphibians?
PM NYC: IT would be nice to watch Cain's foreign policy speech before he drops out. It would be quite entertaining. Unless he has someone else write it. Maybe Palin? That would be a good one!
As for Herman Cain, I thought he was a slime ball the first time I saw him.
Eric - What makes you think the repubs are less likely than the dems at nominating a "lizard"? Since the dems have demonstrated their ability to nominate and try to retain them, why shouldn't the repubs at least try to match.
dano - it's only rape if it isn't consensual.
Who cares about his foreign policy speech I wanna hear his bedroom policy speech...It would be alot more interesting than hearing him stutter and stammer about things he has no idea about, besides he is done anyway..
Let's hear the bedroom policy speech.........Please Hermie...
Herman Cain is a successful, erudite Black Man running for President . . . did it ever occur to any of you that could be why he is a TARGET FOR THESE SORT OF ALLEGATIONS??? For God's sake . . . the man sings in his Church Choir!!!
*squeak* "A NEWT?"
They must have the same morals as Clinton and Weiner. . .
The Pimp hat, he really needs to lose that hat....Looks stupid..
@w.Goin: You are correct sir. I don't think all the women that Clinton felt up said yeah Bill go get it??
@Testacle: Another reason not to trust him. He engages in the opiate of the masses!!Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer.
LMAO...Please tell me you are kidding! THAT's your defense? THAT'S why you believe he is innocent? Ever heard of Ted Haggard or Jim Baker? For crying out loud, they were the friggin' heads of their church and they had no problem cheating on their wives.
Personally, I don't know what anyone sees in Cain....he's not only creepy, but he's not that good looking! I'd have to be the last person on this earth to even CONSIDER sleeping with him....just my opinion! And, Dano, I agree..he needs to get rid of that hat!!
Didi, I'm sure he would feel the same. BTW, if you're actually the last person on earth, there's no chance you'll be sleeping with ANYBODY, let alone, Cain.
To all you Cain supporters who think all these allegations are a "black thing" against your man. I have news for you. We have a black president who made it to the white house without any slanderous accusations like these against him. How long do you plan on keeping your eyes wide shut?
I realize I just gave you nutty right wingers an excuse to find a willing accuser against the President. Were is that nut job that goes around cutting and pasting and editing for the right? Is he busy working for Breitbart already? or maybe Fox News? Oh now I remember . . . Romney's using him to doctor film at the moment.
My eyes are open and Obama NEVER LOOKED VERY BLACK to me Ms.Banarama . . . more like HARVARD-EDUCATED TOKENISM to be controlled by NANCY PELOSI and HARRY REID. You just keep your eyes "wide shut".
Sheesh, and now it is Ginger's turn to "sing". Maybe they both sang in the choir, we could call it choral sex.
AnaBanana Barack was accused of meeting long time fund raiser Vera Baker in a motel. It has been suggested that Hillary's staff had the info on him. She was really good at suddenly finding FBI files from what I hear. Have you ever wondered why Hillary got her appointment? Here's two camps, vying for the same position and showing no love towards one another, yet in the end, she ends up getting an appointment as Secretary of State, one of the most pretigious jobs in Washington.
I did not wonder why Hillary got the appointment. Barack Obama is a history buff. He adheres to "keep you friends close, and your enemies closer." Hence Hillary and Biden. Both part of his administration. Hillary would not have kept that a secret since their primary race was so close. She would have released it if it had any teeth at all. So . . . no teeth!
Nah, kind of like Cain, she really didn't want the presidency. She had books to sell and an appointment to gain.
@Testacle,
Hermie is ass-cessing the damage to his speaking fees and book royalties and trying to figure out if any of that can be salvaged. He also has got his accountants looking for ways to funnel the millions in campaign contributions to his personal ass-cessment account: "There must be a loophole people! Ain't no way I'm spending all that money on advertisements in Iowa!!"
"Get on the Cain Train" slogan sounding a bit suspect these days
Yep, and lets not forget that song, "There's 50 ways to leave your lover".
From "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas": 'There's nothin' dirty goin' on...'
...and he has shifty eyes...
But there's only one way to leave your 50 lovers... run for president.
To Paul M in Wbridge: That was the most intelligent comment in this entire blog site! LOL
Not really Pam... After all, it didn't work, they came back.
You all seem to think that "President Cain" would have really CUT LOOSE ONCE HE WAS IN THE WHITE HOUSE??
Paul,
Looks to me like the run for president just brought em outta the woodwork!!! LOL
999 ... 888 ... 777 ... 6
Speaking of numbers I can't wait until 7 0f 9 shows up ... "resistance was futile, she assimilated me."
The end is here.
He sold his book. That is all he ever cared for other than fondling women of course.
I hope his wife feels "special" cause she is.
The rumor is that Cain's next book will be a re-imagining of the Kama Sutra.
nisl
that's just CRUEL,...some of us were eating lunch; right before we LOST it here,...
my eyes, my eyes!
I have sympathy for Mrs. Cain, but the truth is that Herman is done. He was never a believable candidate anyway, and it amazed me that the right was so quick to embrace his candidacy when it was clear that he did not know anything, and didn't want to learn.
Kind of like Bush Jr. and you see where that got us!
Looks like the Cain Train is about to leave the station... for good. All aboard!
You know what that means..........if Herman can't run because of morals then Newt can't run either....he has done the same thing and worse. If Newt were to win the White House the First Lady would be the bimbo he was boinking in his office while he was voting to impeach Clinton......hooboy what a mess the GOP is in.
Spot On Kathryn! I've been wondering how republicans could even think of supporting Newt Gingrich.
He's an admitted adulterer, as you point out, and was "doing" his bimbo while pointing out Bill Clinton's blow job. Can you say hypocrite?
Then, all of the financial shenanigans with Newt's "non-profit" associations - where he got even richer than he already was.
Gingrich is a philanderer and a crook with no morals or values!
Kathryn - I've said it before and I'll say it again, Romney will win the nomination. Who else is there? Let us use the process of elimination:
Santorum? Long time Republican operatives in the Senate consider Santorum the, "Stupidest man to serve in Congress, ever." While that may seem like a selling point for today's GOP, it really isn't.
Newt? Yeah, I don't think so.
Cain? He had the benefit that nobody knew who he was, that helped him. Now people are starting to learn who he is, which is going to cause him to drop out.
Bachmann? The woman is genuinely insane. While other Republican candidates only pretend to be loons to appeal to the Tea Party/Republican base, she is the real thing.
Perry? I actually thought he would be the anti-Romney. I thought personal issues would eventually doom him, but I was wrong. The man's stupidity doomed him before his personal issues could be brought to light. Also too, he doesn't hate Mexicans enough for today's GOP.
Paul? He could definitely win his party's nomination, but as Jon Stewart pointed out, his party is not the Republican Party.
Newt has told us he was only boinking all those women because of his "love of country". You figure it out.
Meaning of course, if he was president, his "love of country" would be his rationalization for screwing us.
What would be really scary is if Newt got the nomination and were subsequently elected. With all the "love" coursing through his veins, no woman in American would be safe.
Gingrich has covered himself in a way that Cain hasn't yet. Cain has denied, while Gingrich has confessed. A significant portion of the religious right will forgive a a self-confessed sinner, one who throws himself --publicly preferably -- on Christ's mercy. Jimmy Swaggart is one prime example. One might think that the violation of commandments and oaths should be enough for disqualification by the family values coalition, but -- to borrow words -- "It Aint Necessarily So."
He sure has, and has left behind a string of ex-wives and girlfriends to prove it.
However, I cannot imagine the party of family values and right wing Fundamentalist Evangelical nut guys EVER backing Romney. He is a cultist, you know. And if they won't vote for a Muslim, they sure won't vote for a Mormon. they'll never get over that one.
Willow -- normally, I would say you are right...but, after the right's rabid support of Herman Cain and now Newt Gingrich, I'd say that wingnuts will find a way to rationalize their vote for ANYBODY...whether it be a philanderer or a "cultist". Just remember...it's OK if you're a republican.
Kathryn,
Time for your PM med's???
Just thinking about what will happen if the republicans and Grover do find a "winner" in this mess? I have high hopes that Obama will win back his spine and actually get a deal worked out soon. What are the chances of another 4 yrs? Anyone?
nisl, If Ron Paul were to win the nomination, (he should), I think that the republicans would vote for him JUST BECAUSE he was nominated. I mean, look at what happened last election with the nominated "pair" the republicans put forward!
I feel sorry for his wife and family.
Why feel sorry for his family? He doesn't.
the guy is obviously a perv and has no business running for Pres. Did he think that skeletons in the closet wouldn't come out?
the rest of the so called front running Republicans running are a joke too
Other obvious political pervs- Clinton, Weiner, NJ gov McGreedy, JFK, Barney Frank (who liked male prostitutes, as did McGreedy), Ted Kennedy (who was also a bad swimmer!) ...and the list can go on and on.
Gotta admit that it makes no difference if they're republicans or democrats.
JeffK32 - Until I read your last statement about the repubs I thought you were making a belated comment about bj billie.
nobama tard how come you only named democrats if it doesn't matter? The worst of all time was that wierdo GOP member of congress that was tapping his leg under the next stall in the bathroom which is a known way to pick up other men..
nobamanomore,
Perv's in the white House, Senate, HOR,...LOL...Yeah it's pretty hard to win that argument on either side..
d
sw, I'm glad you were able to enlighten us with your expert opinion.
Well, the liberal media has skewered Cain, much in the same way they gave lying, philandering Bill Clinton a pass.
So, who will the character assassins of the liberal media go after next?
No matter who it is, the liberal media will be the goon squad for Obama's "I can't run on my record" re-election campaign.
The liberal press ? You kidding me? this has Romney fingerprints all over it.
Anybody who thinks the media gave Clinton a pass needs their head examined.
The liberal media will attack anyone who starts to emerge as a front runner, starting with a silly painted rock on Rick Perry's land...
The liberal media is fine with Barney "the male prostitute john" Frank, Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy and Bill "I didn't have sexual relations" Clinton.
I wonder why that is?
Perry's fingerprints all over this.
Steven,,, we're talking pizza... not sour grapes.
Steven B -
So the "liberal" press gave Clinton a pass did they?
What planet were you on when all that was going on?
It was MonikaGate 24/7 for MONTHS!
I want everyone to take note of what Steven B posted and how disassociated from reality GOP'ers are. And keep in mind that there are millions out there just as confused as he is.
But I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never.
-William Jefferson Clinton
16 January 1998
Steve,
Yeah. It was obvious from the incessant round the clock coverage for months by every possible medium that Bill Clinton got a free pass.
If you think Bill Clinton got a free pass, you were either born in 2000, or you lived in a cave with your fingers in your ears and your eyes closed during the 90's.
Don't try to revise history just to try and make your point.
Steven, quick question
Why is it that ANY news media outlet that is not FOX news is considered Liberal media?
News is News, no matter who reports facts they are liberal if they do not put a radical right handed spin on the same story every news agency in the world is reporting on. Fox News is considered "Tabloid" News because of the personal bias of the reports.
Steve - You should stay on your meds.
I know, the media doesn't point at Barney Frank and snicker, "He's gay, tee hee," like Fox News does, but that is because they aren't a bunch of xenophobic half wits like Fox News. Yes, we know Barney Frank is gay, so what? And that you have to go after a decades old story about a dead Senator...
As to your claim that, "The liberal media will attack anyone who starts to emerge as a front runner, starting with a silly painted rock on Rick Perry's land," well, I think you need to learn the difference between attacking and reporting. Reporters are supposed to give us information about the people running for President. That is their job. It is not the media's fault that today's Republican Party has a bunch of idjits as their candidates.
Only after the conservative press discovered that Newsweek was sitting on the story...
And although there was coverage, it was quite biased in favor of Clinton.
Steve,
Bill Clinton definitely cheated. And he definitely lied. And he was impeached for it. And acquitted.
But to assert that the media gave him a pass is simply ridiculous.
even Fox News can't spin this turd.
I could care less that Frank is gay. What troubles me is that Frank had a male prostitute (you do know that this is illegal, yes?). I am also amazed that he had the nerve to get his 'friend' out of some 33 traffic tickets.
Yes, Ted is dead, and so is Mary Jo Kopechne; she was killed by a dead-drunk Senator, who ran away from the scene of the accident, make dozens of phone calls to friends and such before reporting the crime.
They failed miserably in reporting about Obama's associations with domestic terrorists and avowed Socialists, didn't they?
The mountain of information that the liberal press omitted from Obama's past is enormous.
Reverend Wright, anyone? You know....the guy Obama saw every Sunday for 20-odd years, but doesn't recall any of his sermons?
LOL!!
Did the liberal media grab Ginger by the back of the head and try to push it down toward Herman's lap?
You apologists amaze me.
Unless I'm mistaken didn't the Cain Campaign blame the Perry Campaign when the initial allegations of sexual harrassment came out?
You idiot! Clinton was impeached because he LIED UNDER OATH! Not because some hog went down on him.
And I find it amusing that you libbies are so willing to forgive and forget Slick Willie... yet some guy who does not hold public office (remember... billy had his fun while sitting in the Oval Office) is burned at the stake. Doesn't matter who the guys is... as long as he is conservative.
Hypocrites!
(show me the clown nose, fisty!)
By a Democrat-controlled Congress, with the active support of the media, making it politically impossible to do the correct thing. The President lied under oath, for goodness sake.
You mean the same woman who, after the alleged incident, continued to drive around with the man?
I could care less that Frank is gay. What troubles me is that Frank had a male prostitute (you do know that this is illegal, yes?)
Wow, you must have sh*t yourself when Jeff Guckert/Jim Gannon was spending the night at the White House. I'm sure the liberal media must have made a huge deal out of that, right? They didn't? hmmm, maybe the media can only legitimately be called "Liberal" when it is compared to Fox News Propaganda and Hate Radio.
The "liberal media", what a friggin' HOOT! Cain skewered himself with his own pepperoni. To bad "fair and balanced" couldn't see past their Joeseph Goebbels story line!
What domestic terrorists? As for Reverend Wright-he has anti-white bias right up there with the anti-black bias exhibited by the KKK, and they have the right to free speech as well as he does. Remember David Duke? Former wizard or whatever of the KKK? He ran for public office, too, if you'll remember. Still a free country, right?
The libral Media doesn't have to do a thing. Cain is being "Swift Boated" by his own party.
Guys, We better try someone different than who is in there now. We need to reverse what has been happening in this country for the last 60 years. There isn't much left for them to steal from us.
Which he was reprimanded for. Old news.
If you didn't hear about Ayers then you had your head in the sand. Obama wasn't given a pass, given that it was Hillary that brought up the fact that they knew each other. The press debunked the "connection" as nothing, as they should have. Obama was 8 years old when the Weatherman were going about their misdeeds. Republican efforts to equate Obama to the actions of a young Ayers are despicable but true to character.
I'll let Obama respond.
StevenB, you are what we call a troll. Now toddle on back over to Fox and give them back today's check. You sir, are a massive failure at diversion and revisionism.
Actually he can run on his record. He's probably done more for this country in 3 years than you've ever done in your life.
The "liberal media" is a lie told to you by those on Fox and talk radio to get you to ignore the facts being told on said "liberal media".
Open your eyes and your mind and don't let others make it up for you and you might just come up with a valid assessment of the situation. Then again who knows, you could be brain washed already.
Are you kidding? The 106th Congress was a Republican majority in both chambers. The Senate was 55 Republicans and 45 Democrats while the House was 223 Republicans, 211 Democrats and 1 Independent.
Speaker of the House: Dennis Hastert
House Majority Leader: Dick Armey
Senate Majority Leader: Trent Lott
Clinton had consensual sex with a woman not his wife. Cain has allegedly done the same, AND, forced himself or tried to force himself on women who didn't WANT him to. As a liberal, I criticized Clinton for his behavior, but he did not force himself on Lewinsky. There's a difference, and if you equate sexual harassment with consensual sex, then shame on you.
William Ayers.
No doubt.
But, Obama claims he never heard any such bias, even after being in the church for 20 years.
How does that sit with you?
Note to Steven B. It was FOX NEWS Atlanta that broke this story about Cain. When did Fox become the liberal media? What's that, you don't bother to actually KNOW anything?
Clinton never ran as the family values candidate. Cain was hoping to be the family values candidate, so he could tell everyone else how to live, ie marriage equality, women's choice, etc. If he's going to do that, he had better be as pure as driven snow. Because in these days, anything is going to be found out.
That's one reason why the other countries in the world were laughing at us. There are a large percentage of men in power all over the world having affairs. We take our POTUS to impeachment for the same thing?
Which is exactly what I mean by "the press gave Obama a pass".
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/ayers.asp
Steve,
I'm not saying Bill Clinton should or shouldn't have been acquitted. The fact remains that he was, in accordance with the law, but that wasn't the point.
The point is that he was hammered by the media, impeached, and tried to the very furthest extent of the law. How that equates to a free pass by the liberal media is beyond me.
Let's face it, it was very simply a silly thing to say.
What I find amusing is that when we are talking about the utter destruction of the economy, high unemployment, and massive debt, Repubs cry foul and say that Dems are ridiculous for going back three years to discuss the previous administration's role in that debacle...but, when it comes to one of their own being a philanderer, it's perfectly okay to go back 20 years for the "but, but, but...Clinton did it too" argument. Good to see that the GOP has it's priorities and "affairs" in order.
Carianne,
Even more laughable is that you better make sure that the professor you meet today wasn't a terrorist (and a bad one...the only people Weather Underground ever killed were themselves) 30 years ago!
Da Noid...fortunately, the only professor I met today was just an abortion clinic bombing evangelist who cheats on his wife. Whew!
Try again, it was a republiCON controlled Senate that acquitted him.
Steven B, I like how you post a link to snopes which pretty much debunks your argument.
Interesting how this digresses from Cain to the media.
My only thought about the bias of the media is: there is no doubt that Fox leans right, there is also no doubt that MSNBC leans left.
I will admit that I tend to be more right on many issues, but I spend a lot of time listening to MSNBC. The reason is that I want to hear what the left is saying. I understand that some liberals have good ideas, and if reasonable, I could support them. What I see here are a group of people that refuse to accept that someone of the other side might be more correct than they are.
90% of people read not to learn something, rather it is to confirm what they already believe. Sad commentary on America.
jrl -- I would agree with almost all of your post. There needs to be reasonable discussion on both sides, and we need to not paint each other with broad brushes based on our political leanings.
The part that I would disagree with is your assessment of Fox and MSNBC. MSNBC definitely leans left. Fox News, on the other hand, leaned, looked over the edge of the cliff, and then jumped head first into the Republican abyss...without a parachute.
Ten to one this came from Romney......wonder how much she is getting paid. You watch, next all the salacious details of Newts life, including his current bimbo will come leaking out. Mitt is the only one with the money and connections to buy the election........you just watch.
You are probably right
You could very well be right, however, I think more likely it is the Koch Bros. Once Cain spouted his motha from anotha brotha claim, followed up with his leader not a reader claim, I am guessing the Koch Bros. machine started divorce proceedings. They certainly have the money to pay this woman handsomely, and I suspect the same mother reference sickened them to the core. My question would be, who is the next Koch Bros. candidate?
Of, course, Mitt Romney is in bed with the insurance companies. He said he will see to it that they get to "oversee" our medical treatment ABOVE DOCTORES RECOMMENDATIONS!
WHO WOULD VOTE FOR THAT FOOL??? Only an idiot!
Wouldn't that make this campaign interesting if Gingerich has an affair going on on the side? Oh my. but nah, I believe he's too old for that.
Kathryn - So how was it that Romney found out about this woman having an affair for 13 years with Cain? He admits "knowing her" and having a "relationship" because she was in need of financial aid. Sounds like his definition of affair and hers differ slightly. So if he was making charitable contributions to the welfare of others, did he claim it as deductions on his tax returns? And would those have been personal or corporate deductions?
What baffles me is how his "opponents" (both dem and repub) know that these women exist and that they can be manipulated and just trying to discredit him. What a conspiracy everybody has against the brutha. People always pay others sizeable undisclosed sums of money to keep quiet about things that never happened.
Just waiting for the baby, this man has to have a few kid's out there...I wish someone would come forward and he submit a blood test to verify, I guess he would deny that too. His excuses are incredible, "I was helping her out financially", his wife is a piece of work also, my wife would kill me if she found out I was helping another woman financially as he claims. He is a slimebucket, morally bankrupt and a liar.  I guess he thought those qualifications were all he needed to run for political office.
So who in the GOP/TP is any better than Cain? I ask you
Well put
that question is exactly the dilemma the GOP/TP are in. If they are electable or even marginally considered to be capable there is going to be moral baggage that will be a problem, the others are just side notes so far.
To Katheryn Sullivan: Ron Paul is the only one running as a Repulican Candidate that has ANY intelligence AT ALL!!!!!
The others are CLOWNS! LOL
And do tell us Pamela, just why is it that Ron Paul is running as a Republican? Thought was a "true" Libertarian. What's that, he's sold out to the repubs too? If Ron Paul where even remotely the "stick to his principals" man he and his supporters claim he is then he would be running as an Independent. But he's not is he. He's running under the Republican brand. He is no better than the rest of the schmucks he currently shares the big top with.
Why limit it to the GOP/TP? It seems that the latest polls that I read showed that nearly anybody could be the lone dem candidate.
"gop/tp's-ers", "evangelicold's/so-called religious & ridiculous rwhite wangers" have put there idea of family values'', on full display with herman cain and newt gingerich.
gingerich is the new hot and sexy flavor for the gop/tp now... and the evangelicold's think there brand of reigiosity is better than mitt's mormon's polygomist pass. At least the mormon's recognized that their practices were wrong and they changed.
So, it is a good thing if cain reassess his canidacy...maybe he will amend his wicked ways. After all, newt ask his debased base to forgive him for his ungodly pass. Cain should be able to do the same.
I think the gop/tp have had their fill with cain and all those swf... They all make rev wright look like a saint.
The one that no one wants to talk about, John Huntsman.
Gov. and Ambassador to China. Experience running a government and experience with the other super power.
How is it possible that Cain was ever taken seriously in the first place? Just goes to show the depth of the insanity that prevails in todays GOP
I would put My Black Lab up there, and feel relatively confident He wouldn't screw as much up as Obama ! I think that is why We took Him seriously, as well as getting someone other than a lifetime politician. We really do need to get these lifers out of there!
No Republican with a brain wants this mess. None of the candidates wanted it during the last election, and they do not want it now.
It was a mess then and a mess now. As you can see "the super stupid committeee" doesn't even know what to do.
Watch David Letterman! I would vote for him!
On to Newty fruity details......or has the nation gotten immune from those by now? Poor Cain was the fall guy
Agree with that RKapoor, the GOP/TP was NEVER going to allow a black man to top their ticket..........NEVER
I do wish these guys with the Huge Egos would look in their closet to make sure this stuff is not there. Just Dumb to enter a race and know this will come out. I feel sorry for the family! I am astounded that the Moral Republican Party cannot find a better bunch to put forward! Newt brings such bagage the Democrats want him to be the Candidate!
I will say someone knew this and is pulling the strings. Axelrod has a reputation for digging up such stuff. Still does not make it right!
One would think so.......but again look at Newt....!
You mean Newt the Flavor(read: opinion)-of-the-day-based-on-whatever-he-thinks-will-make-him-more-popular-today Gingrich?
As much as people want it to be a representative trait of a particular party, it isn't. How soon we forget about bj billie and his "issues" before and after getting access to the head shed. We seem to have forgotten about rev. wright and how it almost derailed a fellow brutha during the last pres election.
It is amazing how blind we become to the fallacies of the opposing political party. They all have skeletons of some sort.
What about the mistress. A one night stand, I could see might not mean anything, but after 13 years , she meant something and it wasn't just sex. I guess finishing it with her only as of September of this year, is the height of arrogance on his part. Look honey, we can't be doing this right now, I'm running for president. Hey, once I'm in the White House, I'll call you. She wasn't going to have any of that and I don't blame her. I feel for Mrs Cain, I really do, but a 13 year affair with Ginger was not nothing. He had plans to keep her on, just not right now, if you know what I mean.
I can't imagine why he didn't think this wouldn't be an issue, turns out he's a major fiddler. ;) Personally I don't care, but America is filled with prudes and religious self-righteousness, so I suppose its the way the game is played here. Our media makes a circus out of sex, then the people feed of it like rabid animals. Not that I'd ever vote for Cain anyway, but makes it so much more amusing!
I have to admire Cain's courage. He runs for president thinking what? That his background won't go under the microscope? That these women won't come forward? That "I don't recall" will cover the issue? After this he might not even be able to get a job delivering pizza.
That ain't courage, hted, that's just plain arrogance and stupidity.
What's done in the dark will come to the light!
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. That goes for all of us, mainstream media, other politicians,...EVERYBODY. I'm not a Cain fan but good grief, their sure seems to be a heck of a lot of sanctimonious bastards out there.
Guess I'll wait for Jesus Christ to run before I can cast my lot. gmafb! Politics...one dirty business.
I agree with you! Problem it is what it is to run in this world of pure Politics. People and the press hold themsleves up high and demand standards that are usually in play. Many have the same problems or whatever in their lives but are not running for Office!
Those "sanctimonious bastards" have a name...they call themselves the GOP. They're the same folks who feign offense when the President doesn't mention God during his YouTube Thanksgiving message.
Come on Beev....
You know very well that the idiots running the Republican/Tea-Bag Party would denounce Jesus Christ as a liberal.
Hell, those ultra-right wing zealots and bigots would probably lynch Him in public.
The Beev-2396805
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. That goes for all of us, mainstream media, other politicians,...EVERYBODY. I'm not a Cain fan but good grief, their sure seems to be a heck of a lot of sanctimonious bastards out there."
..........Hey Beev, sorry, I would have responded sooner, but I was busy out walking on water, have a good day.
P.S., are you related to Steven B?
Where are all the Cain defenders today? Why they were all out in full force defending him just days ago. LOL guess they are all re-grouping figuring out which direction the herd will run tomorrow.
I will cast a stone...I have never cheated on my wife..And have never even when single tried to trade sex for a job or for someone to keep a job..
Roadhouseblues...why you walking on water???? you can't swim?????
blkrattler,
Swim just fine, l once fell out while rafting white water rapids (and without a life vest on top of it, stupid me), but managed not to drown. Actually, I just put on my brand new "sunday-go-to-meet'n" duds and didn't want to get them wet. Oh, and the water up here is about 42 degrees right now, can you say HY-PO-THERMIA? So, I put on my old waterproof, steel toed boots and went walking, just to show The Beev how sanctimonious I am, hope that is acceptable to you?
The ENTIRE Gop/TP field is a joke. Cain is the only one who hasn't already run for President at least once before.
Another con artist exposed!
Steven B -
So the "liberal" press gave Clinton a pass did they?
What planet were you on when all that was going on?
It was MonikaGate 24/7 for MONTHS!
I want everyone to take note of what Steven B posted and how disassociated from reality GOP'ers are. And keep in mind that there are millions out there just as confused as he is.
owencoffin,
Reference recent study that found people who watch Fox "news" are actually less informed than people who watch no news at all. The dumbing down has been going on for years... and is, unfortunately, effective. The term "Useful Idiots" comes to mind.
Honestly I think it's a form of mental illness. There is such a severe disconnect from reality with these people. I know some of them and they can't just be written off as being stupid. John Dean wrote a book called "Conservatives Without Conscience" Which describes the psychology involved in this phenomena. I highly recommend it. It has to do with a need for a strong authority figure and because the GOP in many different ways promotes itself as the party of macho they buy into it. Great read.
Hey Coffin: Regardless of how the press did or did not treat Clinton, his FRIENDS in the senate did the WRONG thing and aquitted him. Tell the whole story when you're defending this adulterer. Everytime I see him on TV I get disgusted all over again. You libs go on and on about Newt and how he treated his dying wife (probably embellished by the press) but conveniently forget about the WOMANIZER IN CHIEF! Disgusting.
Not a Clinton fan at all, that's why I voted for Dole, but imnotlost, Hillary wasn't dying like Newt's wife, big difference.
Bali Bob: You're just making up that study to make you look good on this forum. FYI Cain's latest case was all over Fox news all day yeasterday and still is today. You libs are always buying into the Left about Fox News telling lies, and then you have the nerve to come on this forum with a whopper of your own. HYPOCRITE!
Don't blame Bob, a STUDY has actually found Liberalism to be a brain disease.
Facts, please!
And Newt led the charge against Clinton pretending to be morally superior and indignant about Clinton's affair with Monica while at that same exact moment he was carrying on an affair with a woman he later married who he then in turn also cheated on with the woman who he's now married to and running up huge bills for at Tiffanies.
Also, there were several other morally outraged GOP'ers who were all over Clinton and demanding his resignation who were also cheating on there wives at the same time Clinton was cheating on his. GOP - Simply another name for LYING HYPOCRITE
Here's a link to a report about Fox viewers stupidity:
Apparently we are not allowed to post URL's here. Do a google on the following phrase: "Some News Leaves People Knowing Less"
A more appropriate name for FOX news would be GOP TV which was the name first proposed by Rodger Ailes to Rupert Murdock.
I have personally heard the lies being told on faux. Look no further back that faux going on and on about President Obama supposedly called Americans lazy when he said no such thing.
Of course, Thankgiving is now a republican religious holiday. Republicans never even noticed when other presidents didn't mention God in their Thanksgiving address, much less have faux whine all day like it was a big deal.
What has that got to do with faux reporting on Cain? I have repeatedly stated that the republicans would never ever never elect Cain as their nominee. That faux would jump on the derailing of the Cain train is no surprise.
Those of us not brainwashed will be voting for Obama/Biden 2012.
http://publicmind.fdu.edu/2011/knowless/
Just for imnotlost, because he's in such a frenzy because another one of the clowns he so vehemently supported is nose diving and now he can't think straight! LOL
Also, one important point being missed here so far is that the Obama Campaign would LOVE for Cain to stay in the race. The very thought of Obama running against Cain is something they can only dream about. Can you imagine a Cain/Obama debate?
Obama would be like a polar bear playing with a rag doll.
That's quite a statement owencoffin since Obama can't talk without a teleprompter.
Heck .. Bush couldn't even talk with one !!! What is your criticism ???
You know, floridamom: there will never be a Republican President who can use a teleprompter again. Do you honestly believe that Obama is the only one that ever used one? Really?
You must be a Fox "News" devotee. They know nothing.
syz...42,
obama doesn't need a teleprompter because he doesn't care what he says. He knows he will retract whatever it is that he said.

Don't blame Bob, a STUDY has actually found Liberalism to be a brain disease"
.....Same as right wing conservatism these days, e.g., Beck, Limbaugh, Palin, etc. The only healthy, normal states are moderate, centrist and independent.
