Cain says his race will help the GOP. But is he right?

Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain is claiming his race will help him win over African American voters.

In a seven-page mailer sent to Iowans over the weekend, Cain writes, "as a descendent of slaves I can lead the Republican Party to victory by garnering a large share of the black vote, something that has not been done since Dwight Eisenhower garnered 41 percent of the black vote in 1956."

But while Cain might believe he'll garner a larger share of the black vote in a head-to-head match-up against President Obama, this month's NBC/WSJ poll — which had an oversample of 400 African-American respondents — tells a different story.

In a hypothetical general election matchup, according to the poll, Obama gets support from 93 percent of African Americans, while Cain gets just 6 percent.

Against Romney, Obama performs similarly among black voters. Ninety-two percent of African Americans would support Obama, versus just six percent for Romney. According to the 2008 exit polls, Obama got 95 percent of the African American vote.

Even with sliding poll numbers, Cain has attracted large crowds at recent events — but supporters attending Cain rallies are overwhelmingly white.

The mailer is the latest sign of Cain's increased fundraising haul at work. The campaign raised more than $1 million for its “Iowa Fund,” and earlier this month Cain announced he had brought in more than $9 million since Oct. 1.

Just a little tid-bit for those of you who either voted for Obama and regret it or anybody who does not want him for a second term: check out "Barbara From Harlem-Patriot Powderkeg" on Youtube. Proof that there are some blacks out there who now regret voting for him!

Black voters won't vote for the Koch Whore Cain . . . the difference between President Obama & Koch Whore Cain is as wide as the Grand Canyon! President Obama does NOT have a line of women accusing him of sexual harrassment, most voters appreciate that our President is not a whore, President Obama has DIGNITY, INTEGRITY & HONOR where Koch Whore Cain DOES NOT! Any voter with a moral compass can see the difference between the two.

M.E....Well said. Who would be proud of doing business with the same people that sold radio transmitters thru Shanghi to Iran so that bombs could be set off 40 miles away? Yeah, that's some real integrity there. The black community is much smarter than some give them credit for--They know that Cain is an @ssho!e. I agree, all people of color and whites alike can see the difference....Some just choose not to look too hard.

Reminds me of Dave Chappelle and the Racial Draft skit. While Cain has the style down, his pandering to affluent voters would not bode well for him in the draft!

            youtube.com/watch?v=UUSAoXlS2YE

Yes, I think Chappelle would have a mighty good time with this one.

The truth is Cain's blackness is not an advantage in attracting black people, but instead would be an advantage in attracting gullible white people. Whites who felt electing a black man would be good for the country won't feel like they're turning back that page of history if they vote for Cain. Some whites might have the subconscious feeling that a vote for Obama is a vote for progress, while a vote for a white Republican candidates is a regressive act. That's the principle at least, but I don't think Cain would actually attract white voters, because he's clearly a phony and a shill for the banks, saying Americans are 'just jealous' of the banking sector's position, without addressing the fact they've received now over $24 trillion in tax money.

Cain stated that he being a descendent of slaves can lead the Republican Party to victory with the help of his race and garnering a large share of the black vote.

Cain forgot that a large number of Republicans are descendents of slave owners and they will not take his comments very lightly.

He is so DUMB that he doesn't even realize that he doesn't have a chance of winning the Republican nomination without the white vote and with his recent racist statement he guaranteed his own demise.

I thought that his love of the Koch brothers would lead to his demise. I was, once again, wrong. He's like a damn cat with nice lives--he just keeps coming back.

If Kunta Kinte did run for president, the Koch "BROTHERS" would probably endorse him; they could actually form their own political party called the "KKK" party. Do you think the members of Cain's race would go for it?

Being Black might garner a few votes - probably overrided by his comment that if you are poor it is your own fault. I suspect this will not sit well with the many Blacks, and other people, who have busted their butt and followed the rules and have been laid off or had their retirement eaten up - it is, after all, their fault per Mr Cain.

What hyprocrisy, The Taxaholic in the White House choose a non income taxpayer as his Secretary of Treasury. But to be fair, the Secretary of the Treasury nor anyone in the Cabinet of the Obama whitehouse have little power. The real power in the Obama Adm is the Shadow Government of over 40 Czars, more Czars than the entire history of Russia. No one know what any of these Czars get paid nor what they actually do

How is this then Kurt. Cain is completely unfit for the office of president because:

                                  1. He lacks even the most basic understanding of foreign affairs.

                                  2. His 9-9-9 tax plan has been shown to put a huge burden of taxes on the middle class and poor.

                                  3. He has not given any concrete and viable plans to boost the economy and job creation. (When asked all he says is 9-9-9 which is not an economic or jobs plan)

                                  4. He shows a complete lack of compassion for his fellow man, especially those who are down and out.

                                  5. He is unable to take the pressure of scrutiny. (Have you ever been accused of sexual harrasment is not an answer to a question. At least not one that an adult would give.)
