As campaign surges, Gingrich launches 'Newt Hampshire'

MANCHESTER, NH -- Following a surge in national polls, Newt Gingrich's distinctive name peppered news headlines frequently over the weekend with gems like "Newtmentum" and "Newtvember."

Today, in a move that no other candidate can replicate, the campaign has told NBC News it is joining in the fun, rolling out "Newt Hampshire!", a social media volunteer platform wholly dedicated to Granite State volunteers.

Communications director Matt LeDuc said the site's content and mobilization strategy will "utterly blow your mind." The site will fully debut next Monday, the same day the former Speaker of the House will return to New Hampshire. Gingrich will participate in an editorial board meeting with the Union Leader newspaper and participate in a couple of campaign stops.

This comes as Gingrich rapidly expands his political operation in New Hampshire, a state in which his staff hopes will be the second stop of a sustained "surge" through the primary season.

The Gingrich campaign has also hired a new senior advisor with a name well known in the Granite State: Jim Wieczorek, an ex-staffer for former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and son of sitting executive councilor Ray Wieczorek. He is also vice president of an insurance company bearing the family name.

Wieczorek will be joined by newly-minted captains of all 10 New Hampshire counties, according to Gingrich's New Hampshire state director, Andrew Hemingway.

If only a presidential candidate was measured by how many books he wrote and movies he made the "Newtron" would win hands down. He reminds us of all his entertainment accomplishments daily, even hourly.

"As president I'll probably have at least one more affair because I get so wrapped up in my work that I need that sex outlet. And lets admit it, Callista has outworn her welcome already. I mean, who needs a large Tiffany's revolving account to keep their wife happy?" I promise "Bungas" at the White House.

It simply amazes me that females so easily come up with references to past affairs as the major disqualfiier for being President. So I assume you think that Bill Clinton and JFK were horrible. What you completely discount is that Newt has an answer and innovative ideas for just about every subject that could come across a President's desk. He ran circles around Herman during their "debate". He runs circles aroudn most of the other candidates (including Obama) who like to deal in generalities and sound bites and concepts and no concrete answers. Maybe if you spent more time debating Newt responses to the real issues that im0act our country and get off your high horse about personal issues, maybe this blog could have a actual conversation about who is the best candidate for the Presidency, but I guess you think that cheap shots are more fun than actual debate!.

Fed up Senior, are you suggesting that we ignore those kinds of things? The character of a President is important because he represents our country on the world stage. It is not good for any president to appear immoral.

I do agree that his ideas shouldn't be dismissed simply because of his immoral acts though.

Hell, man- so could Bart Simpson!

"...but I guess you think that cheap shots are more fun than actual debate!."

When those shots are taken at even cheaper 'targets', yes- absolutely.

Oh Newt. Like Herman Cain, his campaign agenda is a book tour. Remember his staff quiting en masse because they didn't sign on to promote Newt and Calista's production company and the scam, er uh, sale of the wide array of books, DVDs, etc.?

Calista just wrote a children's book, scary, along with their versions of history or what have you -- I wonder if any of it would be rejected like Bill O'Really's book on Lincoln? Oh Calista, are you measuring the drapes, and who will pay the bill? Maybe the tax payers will buy you a tiara for your helmet hair when you become Queen, er uh, First Lady.

Seriously, can we please have candidates who aren't trying to hock something, PLEASE?

Face it...it's Mitt and one of the most amazing cases of throwing an election away in modern political history...

Go Newt!

While my conservative friends continue to rag on the President, their party has given them a beggar's banquet of alternatives to choose from, none of whom could win a majority of the electorate or the electoral college...

and you know it's true...

Newt? No way. He has been convicted of ethics violations for goodness sake!! Wake up people and listen to what Ron Paul is saying.

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress. But do they listen? Ron Paul predicted the housing bubble in 2001. Search for it on Youtube, Ron Paul predictions.

Better he be judged by whether he has had an ethics charge or two against him....ol' Newt fills the bill.

And that is just for starters, as someone said yesterday, even his baggage has baggage.

Yep, even his baggage has baggage.

Newt is a pathological liar and a legend in his own mind. He's obviously immoral, hypocritical, and unethical -- With his multiple marriages and affairs, while leading the witch hunt against Clinton, and then of course getting kicked out as Speaker by his own Party and fined $300,000 for ethics violations.

Now Newt is on FOX Noise lying about being a lobbyist for Freddie Mac. He claims he was paid $300,000 just to give advice, not to lobby. Riiight, organizations fork out that kind of money every day just to chat. And all the people in the past who knew, including folks at Freddie Mac are coming forward to tag Newt on yet another lie.

Newt didn't want reforms of Freddie and Fannie, so he and Republicans blocked investigations into practices that would later contribute to the 2008 economic meltdown. Newt is one of the most despicable figures in US politics, yet because he believes his own lies and is so arrogant he thinks he should be POTUS and leader of the free world.

Holy cow, Teapublicans, get control of your Party.

Most of America doesn't give a hoot about Newt. He may have "surged" among the nut cases who will determine the Republican primary, but the electorate as a whole couldn't care less. I wish journalists would clarify their language when talking about which candidates are up or down - sometimes they seem to imply the whole country is being polled, not just Republican primary voters.

    You've been watching it...

Mitt is at a steady 22-24% and he is your nominee...

He picks up zero support from any of his temporary challengers when they recede back into single digits...

The party that started out as "anyone but Obama" has run into a situation where their own probable inevitable candidate is "Anyone but Mitt"...Both sides may find enthusiasm in short supply next November...

As I predicted --- Newt is the newest flavor of the month. The only question is who will it be next month -- Paul or Santorum?? But the bottom line is Romney will be the eventual nominee and President Obama will win a second term.

I'm so glad that when Herman Cain was assigning flavors to other candidates (Bachmann is Frutti Tutti) that he stopped before mentioning Santorum. Hagen Daz Black Walnut no longer exists. Newt probably tried to get Ben and Jerry's to invent something for him to hock. Why do I think it would taste as nasty as Santorum's?

Story of the day most likely to be ignored by NBC:

"80% of green energy loans went to Obama cronies"

A new book by Hoover Institution fellow Peter Schweizer details the startling extent of the cronyism that has pervaded President Obama’s “green jobs” push. According to Schweizer, 4 out of every 5 renewable energy companies backed by the Energy Department was “run by or primarily owned by Obama financial backers.”

Those companies’ “political largesse is probably the best investment they ever made in alternative energy,” Schweizer explains. “It brought them returns many times over.”

Did NBC get a "green loan" to turn all its logos green , for "Hug a Tree week" or "Give GE more subsidies week" or whatever it calls it?.

What percentage of oil money went to Cheney and his cronies? How much of that 10 BILLION that disappeared in Iraq went to the Bush cronies?? But of course since that was done by and favored Republicans, Fox and Limbaugh the junkie don't talk about it so yo wouldn't know about it.

Classic liberal response there Charlie. Can't defend Obama so you bring up Bush. Very predictable because that is all you libbies got in explaining Obama's crony capitalism failures. Pretty sad really that you grovel at Obama's feet and don't hold him accountable for anything while blaming Bush for everything.

Did you read about Siga Technologies in the L A Times or Chicago tribune? restructuring an open bid contract to a no bid contract so an Obama donor gets the contract at a 180% profit! 180% profit when the government is the only customer! Most companies are happy with a 10$% profit. Why did Obama give them a 180% profit Charlie? Was that Bush's fault too? And the best part, they called the no bid contract a "sole-source" contract. Talk about spin. I am sure David Haxelrod is as proud as you are about that one. Chicago coruption at it's finest.

Newt can hold his own and yours too if he has a chance. I think he reminds me of the old style politician. Who cares how many women he screwed, I did not care about how many Bill Clinton screwed and I think Bill was pretty damn smart. He could work politically with the other side to get things done, where Barack cannot and has proven it time and time again. Everything is head to head, which is getting us no where, but broker and divided as a nation.

If any of us looked truthfully at ourselves and let the media dig up @!$%# we did personally, I know most of us would fail, because we learned as we grew and hopefully became a little wiser from our past mistakes. Newt can sell whatever he wants to. The little plastic white houses sound good as long as they collect tax on them. That would be a better investment than ObamaCare, Fast and Furious, Cash for Clunkers, bailing out Wall Street, Solyndra, and the list goes on. I know nothing really about Baracks past in depth. His Mother was trash and his Father an alchoholic, but besides the obvious nothing is known of who paid for his education and on and on.

Whoever the GOP runs or if Hillary would get in the race, I will not vote for Barack again. We need something different to bring us together to save our country.
