Cain camp: 'It just took him a while to gain his bearings'

Responding to Herman Cain's shaky answer to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's question on Libya, his campaign said the candidate was operating on just four hours of sleep.

“The video is being taken out of context," said spokesman JD Gordon. "He was taking questions for about 30 to 40 minutes on four hours of sleep. He didn’t say anything wrong or in accurate; it just took him a while to recall the specifics of Libya.”

Gordon added, “It just took him a while to gain his bearings.”

The campaign's official position is that President Obama mishandled Libya, and that the Europeans should have taken the lead, since Libya is vital to their interests and not a vital interest to the United States. (However, that is what ultimately took place -- Europeans and NATO took the lead in military operations and assistance.)

The campaign also said there is concern that factions of Al Qaeda are part of the opposition leadership, and that the outcome of the conflict is still less than certain.

I watched it and it was priceless.

In case you missed it after several moments and looking at his handlers off camera "What's my line on this"

Definately not Presidential material.

Hopefully, all the Cain supporters will finally see that this guy's in it for the money. The Koch Bros. will get their cut when this is over (can't be soon enough) and Herman will be talked about as the flash in the pan that he is. He SHOULD be embarrassed, but I doubt it. Now the wingnuts have put Newt in the lead. I think the Republican party should get their heads out of their a$$ and just admit they have no chance in beating President Obama. Really, now the word out on the street is that there might be a campaign for a right-in vote for Jeb Bush. The GOP has turned itself into a laughing stock.

UH-DUH! President Obama should have let the Europeans take the lead in Libya??!!! I thought that was what President Obama did! And the other side of the Tea Party says that Obama should have taken the lead and not left it up to Europe! When are these people going to make up their minds??

Herman always can trot out gay soldiers, waterboarding and Obama is a muslim again. These topics always seem to get the republican mobs and tribes energized.

It is absolutely amazing that a man like Herman Cain could get this far in the GOP race. There is a horrible misconception that because a man rises to the level of a CEO of a company that he could lead a nation. Any high school sophomore could have answered the Libya question better than Cain did.

On the flip side we have Gov. Perry declaring as president he would "uproot" the three branches of government all by himself! He should take out that Constitution from his breast pocket and read it before he panders more to his tea party base.

Where are the statesman in this GOP race that actually act Presidential and have original thoughts? Thankfully we have Romney, Huntsman and to a lesser degree Paul.

Cain is a fraud. later in the same interview he states that he is pro-union... in Wisconsin of all places! this is basic stuff for any candidate and he isn't aware of cornerstone republican principles. Hermie tries to BS his way through everything. just another brainless connie

"Crazy Cain" is not only mentally ill. He is suffering from brain damage. This "Gross Odd Person" (GOP) is "Not Really Competent" (RNC) at all! This GOP Clown is a very dangerous individual, and has no clue on Foreign Policy Issues. This Cognitively Disabled individual thinks he has a chance to beat President Obama?? "Crazy Cain" does not stand a chance America! Progressive Power watched "Crazy Cain" and was not shocked at all America. He stumbled, and bumbled around Foreign Policy sounding completely scary. Just like Perry! Speaking of old "Scary Prerry." His poltical spewing was just total insanity! His lack of understanding of how a Democracy is suppose to work. Is even more of a troubling issue for him, and for our nation. So "Nutty Newt" the man who likes to politically puke has no chance of beating President Obama. NO WAY! "Nutty Newt" in his poltical views is a Confederate States Of America politician around 1850. His Economic views are for full "States Rights," and no interference from the Federal Government. On Economic Issues. "Nutty Newt" believes in the economic polices of all the Southern States in or around 1855. On all Social Policies. His views are that of a Confederate States Of America poltician on or around 1859. "Nutty Newt" has no comprehension of the US Constitution because, he only reads the Confederate States Of America Constitution. "Nutty Newt" does not respect President Obama, and is still a big follower of President Jefferson Davis of the Confederate States Of America. Politically for "Nutty Newt" his greatest moment was the forming of the Confederate States Of America. His greatest Military Moment was when the Confederate Army won the first Battle Of Bull Run. Socially, "Nutty Newt" as a Confederate Politician has no intellectual understanding of the Bill Of Rights. His only understanding of the Declaration Of Independence has no political place in his Confederate Political Thinking. If anyone sees "Nutty Newt" walking around outside somewhere?? Please make sure that a call is placed to the authorities, and that he is returned to his Mental Hospital Room.

Time to get those bearings re-packed.

While you're at it, get the screws re-threaded.

                  Not Funny?

Neither is the sorry state of the Republican Party.
