Cain camp says it's raised $9 million since Oct. 1

Herman Cain's campaign said today it has raised $9 million since Oct. 1, doubling so far Cain's entire third-quarter haul.

A quarter of that money, about $2.3 million, came just in the last 10 days -- as he's been embroiled in a sexual-misconduct scandal.

There is no way to independently confirm the numbers until Jan. 15, when the campaigns are required to its fourth-quarter report with the Federal Election Commission.

Here's the Cain campaign's press release:

Herman Cain Campaign War Chest Skyrockets

Presidential candidate Herman Cain is "in it to win it," according to newly released financial numbers. The Herman Cain Campaign reports receiving over $9 million of financial support from Cain backers since October 1st. Twenty-five percent of these newly received contributions have come in the last ten days.

The generosity of Mr. Cain's followers has more than doubled in the past five weeks, compared to the financial gifts received in the previous two quarters combined. According to the campaign's third quarter FEC filing, Mr. Cain's campaign received $4.7 million from May through September 30th. The campaign has received a total of $14.1 million in financial support since the start of the campaign.

"Mr. Cain's vision to renew our country and create new jobs via his bold "9-9-9 Plan" is resonating across America," said Mark Block, Chief of Staff to the Herman Cain presidential campaign. "Mr. Cain's business experience and executive leadership is needed to put America back on the track to prosperity. Voters want to be part of the Cain Train so they are donating their time, talent and treasure to make sure Mr. Cain is our next president."

All things considered,I like Herman. But he is like Sarah, they never had a serious thought for a moment of being President in 2012,or ever. He has a disgrace for a campaign manager,he has no foreign policy brain at all,beki-beki-bekistan?? Most importantly, even if he put the smartest men on the planet around him,he would be too full of "Herman Cain" or Denny Crain or whatever the hell he keeps calling himself,to listen.Lets not forget,he is on a book tour right now,and they are selling like hotcakes....to his campaign.(cue that devilish smile)

He got a great deal! He only had to pay them a year's salary, and he got millions in return. He had to wait 12 years, but still a great return. The best part, he gets to deny it all, even though the NRA admitted that it did happen. But what do facts matter, when you are dealing with Teabaggers?

He's going to need the money to hire people to help him figure out what to do when China gets nuclear weapons.

Funny, if Cain were a Dem, right wingers would be complaining non stop about what a disaster 9-9-9 is.

Vote for Ron Paul. Honest, direct, straight forward. He will eliminate the national debt. He does not show favoritism, discrimination,or any partiality to a specific interest or group. Libertarian. Each person makes their own way, succeeds or fails, learns to overcome. No endless government safety net, less oppressive government. Allow the natural hallmarks of human character, ie, resiliency, creativity, cohesion, to guide each person and family through life's problems. No more big government.

Democrats love character assassination. What they don't realize is that anyone can make accusations and call people names. Proving the accusations false is much harder, which is why Democrats prefer to just make the accusations; they are too lazy to attempt proving anything and hope that people will hear the accusations and simply believe them w/o hearing proof. And then when the target attempts to defend himself the Democrats will say *he* is the liar...acting like they have proof one way or another about who is lying. Democrats are a joke.

I guess anyone who doesn't like Cain now is a racist, or even if they simply don't like his 9-9-9 plan then they are also a racist. Given that simply disagreeing with Obama's policies makes any conservative a racist then I think this logic being applied to Democrats with Cain is quite fair.

Brandon - BTW, think about all the sexual scandels that have occurred over the years, Clinton, Edwards, Weiner, Ensign, the republican who got caught in the bathroom soliciting, and all the reglious persons that ended up buggering men....do you remember anyone of them that ended up where someone was falsely accused? I didn't think so, no different with Hermann Cain.

If it was so easy to claim why hasn't any of the other candidates been accused, including Obama.. I'll tell you why, when this stuff happens it's usually true. Sandusky is susposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, but do you really think he didn't abuse those boys...

Defending a scumball like Cain because he's a republican is stupid...you should be driving him out of the party..

This all came from the other GOP candidates.

You need to pull you head out of Cain's back side and look at character assassination.

The leader of the GOP, Rush makes a living off of character assassination.

Of course his donations would increase. The New Republican base worships War For Profit, Unfettered Financial Market Fraud, and has a streak of disdain for free thinking people, and especially free thinking women.

When Cain was first accused you right wingers said they won't step up and be identified, because they are lying. First it was one then that turned into 4, Cain couldn't remember anything about it and later in the day he said OH yeah, now I remember she is the same height as my wife, end of story! Now we have one stepping up to the plate and you are crucifying her. Then up stepped ANOTHER woman that has showed her face and now both are catching hell because of a slime bucket thinks he has the right to touch, say anything he wants too. And you pour money into his campaign..... WHY? Does your wife work in an office? Things happen. At my last understanding there are 5 women that have accused Cain...... 2 have stepped up to the mic.... and now he is lying about it... BLAMING EVERYONE for something he did! Now the lawyer is issuing a threat. You even think you want him for president? Not to mention his up-to-date intelligence of nuclear power and that China is developing nuclear power. He would deal with terrorist... depending on which day of the week it is. His 999 that he swore up and down will save everyone... has now changed it to 909.... For God sake... Perry has more intelligence than Cain... or ANYONE! You hate Democrats that much that you would vote Cain into office? Your hatred is eating you up inside, you need help to relax and know that there are different ideas in this world other than the ones you hold closest to you and some of the other ideas might in the long run help you. This is called UNITED States for a reason, the working class has to stop fighting each other... and mostly hating each other when you do not even know the person. The Bible says it takes 2 or 3 witnesses to make it true.... we have 5. Let's relax and give everybody a chance to speak.

He's right wing extreme and won't get much of the black vote.

Accusations without evidence are meaningless. That's the way our system of justice works. Thousands of people have accused Obama of being a Muslim and a Communist. In neither case do accusations alone constitute proof of wrongdoing.

I suspect a lot of these new contributions are made specifically because the media are trying to crucify Cain over unproved allegations.

Stand-up comedy is Cain's real strength.

I guess Rick Perrys contributions should have gone up after the debate too? I am sorry that doesn't make sense. Your contributions should go up after you do something good not after you are accused of something bad. Remember Palin. She never should have gone on the national spotlight because she had ethics charges. We saw what happened after that. When these charges surfaced years ago Cains chances for president were nil. Nada. Many candidates have lost over less. And I am sure quietly in their minds, because of a lot of reasons they don't like Obama the republican/teapartiers are saying Cain will never be our president. Duh!

Anymore I dislike the US and its two party system of Government. It has created supporters and politicians on both sides with extreme views and agenda's and has made this Country very divided and stagnant in moving forward. No matter which side you take you can accept some of the blame for this mess of a Country. The expectation anymore of our politician's is too take sides and follow a right or left viewpoint rather then seeing the other sides point of view. Its all about I am correct and you are not. Because this divides not only the voters in this Country but also are ratio of Democrat's and Republican's in Congress. We have a standoff of who's viewpoint will win. In the end with no compromise or seeing the other sides view. We are all ending up losers.

It is the same system of government, which created a continent-spanning nation, with a world-spanning sphere of influence.

The problems we face now have little to do with our form of Government, and much to do with the people in our Government ...and with a changing world.
