Cain camp says it's raised $9 million since Oct. 1

Herman Cain's campaign said today it has raised $9 million since Oct. 1, doubling so far Cain's entire third-quarter haul.

A quarter of that money, about $2.3 million, came just in the last 10 days -- as he's been embroiled in a sexual-misconduct scandal.

There is no way to independently confirm the numbers until Jan. 15, when the campaigns are required to its fourth-quarter report with the Federal Election Commission.

Here's the Cain campaign's press release:

Herman Cain Campaign War Chest Skyrockets

Presidential candidate Herman Cain is "in it to win it," according to newly released financial numbers. The Herman Cain Campaign reports receiving over $9 million of financial support from Cain backers since October 1st. Twenty-five percent of these newly received contributions have come in the last ten days.

The generosity of Mr. Cain's followers has more than doubled in the past five weeks, compared to the financial gifts received in the previous two quarters combined. According to the campaign's third quarter FEC filing, Mr. Cain's campaign received $4.7 million from May through September 30th. The campaign has received a total of $14.1 million in financial support since the start of the campaign.

"Mr. Cain's vision to renew our country and create new jobs via his bold "9-9-9 Plan" is resonating across America," said Mark Block, Chief of Staff to the Herman Cain presidential campaign. "Mr. Cain's business experience and executive leadership is needed to put America back on the track to prosperity. Voters want to be part of the Cain Train so they are donating their time, talent and treasure to make sure Mr. Cain is our next president."

This story is good an indicator of how the GOP base views world. They think that if Cain enjoys sexually harassing woman then he’s OK in their book and would be a great President. I suppose if he was a serial rapist or serial murderer then he would have raised even more money. I’m not sure what is mentally wrong with the Republican base but I sure hope none of them live in my neighborhood because anyone that thinks like that is a danger to everyone else.

So why is the poor far left and the extreme rich left so worked up about Cain? Because if you don't vote for Cain, you are a racist! Oh, did I say something wrong? Liberals can not use the racist card if Cain takes on Obama. So what will the liberals have to swing votes if they loose their racist card? Cain will have FACTS and Obama will still have blame Bush. But really, who cares, as long as Obama is voted out! Check out the Obama numbers, how can anyone vote for him again, unless you are taking a Obama Bailout or free ride on the few remaining tax payers backs! Yep that hope and change turned out to be hopeless! And a few poor hopeless people still have faith in the failed Obama path of his so called change.

How many companies that got bail outs, have turned around to give money to Obama? Dig deep, step up to the plate, and show us the facts. Sounds like a lot of greedy rich liberals are getting a free ride, like the ones that were abled to op out of Obama care. Show us that list, include the unions too! GOP will use this information very soon, so lets get it out now!

It always surprises me when Conservatives choose their candidate:

1) They hate the Fed and want it eliminated. But Cain was the Chairman of the Board of the Kansas City Fed and before that was on the board of the Fed's Omaha Bank.

2) They want to defend "marriage." But both Gingrich and Cain are serial adulterers. I can't think of a more serious attack on marriage than adultery.

3) They will tell you all about ACORN. But as an associate pastor and deach at Atlanta's largest and most liberal African-American church (Antioch North) both his church and Cain, as a deacon, had major connections to ACORN, voter registration drives, and campaigns for affirmative action in Atlanta. (I note that Antioch North in the past couple of weeks removed all recerences to Cain or his wife from their web site.)

4) They want someone who will create jobs. But Cain was noteworthy for losing jobs at Godfathers and taking it from the #3 pizza chain to #5 and falling. He closed about 1/4 of all its outlets.

5) They want their candidates to be authentic and independent. But Cain and Gingrich still refuse to disclose the names of donors or advisers.

The list goes on and on ---- but please, keep sending that money to Cain. LOL

After all, Cain is a liar (and a sexist pig). Seriously, based on the Pokeman poem, the SimsCity 9-9-9 plan, and quotes from movies like "I'm a brother of a brother of a different mother" Cain has no credibility anyway. Yes, let's get back to Cain's "foreign policy vision" -- Hahahaha!

Cain's sexual harrassment of reaching under a woman's skirt and grabbing her privates borders on rape, certainly it is not consensual. Like the Pen State scandal, it is more than just negligence, it is criminal to aid and abete, and to cover-up with conspiracy and obstruct the law. These behaviors cannot be accepted regardless of running for POTUS or what have you.

Pride, you nailed carrot top... she's just like the OWS crowd she promotes, and so little like the majority of Americans (outside the FR crowd, that is...) and she hates the Tea Party why?

The Tea Party’s key demand is to restore the size and reach of government to that enshrined by the Framers in the Constitution. The Tea Party wants lower taxes, less regulation, less federal spending, and less intervention by the federal government into citizen’s private lives and businesses. To reiterate, the Tea Party’s rule book is the U.S. Constitution; they want to restore America to what it was supposed to be, as prescribed by the Framers. Thus, the Tea Party’s goals are specifically and uniquely American.

By stark contrast, the demands of OWS (and carrot top's dreams) are for more taxes, more regulation, more federal spending (on them, of course), and more government intervention in people’s private lives and businesses (not theirs of course, just those of the eeeeevil rich).

If we're lucky neither carrot top or the OWS crowd will get what they want!

mitch j -- Let me guess, you are one of those individuals who say a woman was raped because she was asking for it. Women are raped every minute, abused every minute, harassed all the time. Memphis Kelly -- I understand the need for a minimum two-Party system. The problem is the GOP/TP is no longer a political Party, but rather a mishmash of illogical and irrational crazies. If we're lucky the Teapublicans will be "contained" from participation for at least 20 years so we can get our nation back to Super Power status.

Go OWS! Obama/Biden - 2012!

To not bring up an issue that has been making front page news concerning the candidates would have been gross neglect, whether the network was msnbc, fox, or bbc. What a silly comment. And the booing was so incredibly childish. The debate moderaters didn't make up the allegations. And giving Cain a chance to address them actually probably did Cain more good than ignoring them, among those that think they were fabricated.

This is going to be a really tough election for obama and the dems.

If the dems can force the repubs and/or the public to endorse Mitt instead of Cain, Obama and the dems can just keep pulling out the race card. But even if it is Mitt, obama will not win any debate on the issues and/or his performance.

If it is Cain, Obama and the dems will still not be able to win a debate on the issues or Obama's performance but will not have the race card to pull and can only do a smear campaign on Cain.

But smear is what the loser dems know how to do best so they should be in good standing on that note.

Herman Cain, during his "major" fundraiser push over the last 8-10 days raised only 1.2 million dollars! So you take that exxaggerated rate and multiply it by the days (41) in this quarter, it comes to 4.92 million. That is BEST CASE. You have to factor in that most of the days in the 3rd quarter were not major fundraising days. Herman Cain is realistically looking at less than 4 million this quarter so far.

What a liar. I'm voting for the only honest politician running, Ron Paul. He raised about 3 million in a few days, but the media said nothing about that. Too funny.

it was beautiful how the audience slapped the white house puppet for asking a non-economy related question.

And the puppet had no idea what to do. My bet is that she thought she was going to look great by bringing it up.

I also thought Newt's response was great.

Axelrod probably gave her a choice: either question him about it, or claim you were victimized as well.

It should not have been brought up at all???? It is news whether it is news you like to hear or news you don't it is nonetheless news and deserves to be brought forward in the debate.

That "puppet" as you call her, knows far more about the economy than any of the 8 stooges on stage.

what is unfortunate: crying wolf serves only the wolves. each bogus accusation results in many more real victims that will not come forward, and report actual crimes in the future.

very telling that none of the libs ever publicly recognize this. typical, under the guise of helping, they are only enslaving.

mitch, what kind of inside information do you have to know these are lies. Were you or have you been attached to Cain from 1998 thru 2002. Did you witness something to back up your statement. If so please let the Cain campain know so they can debunk these claims with facts and witnesses. Please do not delay you need to help Cain.

Marine- I'm an independent libertarian who would vote for Cain, Gingrich, Santorum, and even Perry and Bachmann over Obama. I have voted mostly 3rd party since Nixon with the exception of Reagan. But a Stalinist like Obama must be removed ASAP

Larry if you are an independent why do you always vote republican?

I guess you have reading comprehension problems in addition to the disease of liberalism.

I voted for Nixon in 68 because I thought he would be a conservative. I voted 3rd party in 72 and 76. I voted for Reagan in 80 and 84.

        I voted 3rd party in 88, 92, 96, 2004, and 2008.

I voted for Bush in 2000 because I mistakenly thought he would not be like his father and would be a conservative.
