Noted Tea Party favorite and combative freshman Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) let his emotions get the best of him over the weekend when talking to some constituents at a bar in his district.
When asked about the U.S. banking meltdown, Walsh screamed, "Don't blame banks and don't blame the marketplace for the mess we are in right now, I'm tired of hearing that crap!"
He then told one man, "Be quiet or you're going to have to leave!"
The full video was posted by a liberal political blog called "Thump and Whip."
Walsh's D.C. office had no comment on the video.

A "responsible" Republican is either an oxymoron or the punchline of a bad joke.
As A Canadian, all I can say is this guy is a total idiot. He needs to be voted out and stand in the unemployment lines. Regulations are the key. Our banks in Canada did not need any bailouts, not 1 single penny. Why? because we are highly regulated, no mortgage swaps, rebundling and selling across the world. The banks hold the mortgages, people can`t mortgage their homes without a substantial down payment and if it is an older home an inspector from the lending bank needs to inspect the home before you can get the mortgage. Your Dodd Frank bill is a good start but needs to go further. Look to the north you might learn something.
Joe Should have quit after Lifes Been Good To Me So Far, All Night Laundry Mat Blues and Rocky Mountain Way he's really bad at this politics thing and his voice has changed.
Not only is this guy a total a-hole, he is wrong. Government didn't regulate the banks into forcing people to buy houses. Government de-regulated banks and the banks came up with some creative finance to make money. They not only made loans they should not have made but they sliced them up and resold them as sound investments. This did not happen under Glass-Steagall. Dodd-Frank is a step in the right direction but it doesn't go far enough. I wish this jerk had threatened to make ME be quiet or leave the bar. I wish the young lady in whose face he shook his finger was my wife or daughter. I would teach him some manners. Republicans, is this an example of your best and brightest? Is this your party's idea of free speech?
I couldn't agree more. Well put. This guy is totally Rude. Glad he's not from my district.
The truth cuts deep! Sent Joe right off the cliff. Priceless.
Who elected this clown? The banks, Wallstreet and poor regulation of the banking industry has gotten us into this mess. Also, people like this clown saying that it isn't so. Wonder how many people like this clown are in office right now?
Is there no one in Congress Democrat, Republican or Independent that regardless will step up and get this moron some help? Party be damned this is a human being crying out for someone anyone to hear his pleas for help. Spanky how about you help this sot out?
For those that are old enough to remember, banks and lending institutions in the U.S. before Reagan and deregulation in the 1980's provided a service to their communities. Sure, they made money, but there wasn't this incredible greed we see today. Banks are like naughty, bratty kids out of control. They have to be reigned in occasionally and slapped upside the head once in awhile. I say MORE government regulation of banks but I wouldn't want the government to manage banks.
Hey Illinois! You elected this jerk? For real? He represents YOU? Man - you're trying to get up there with Texas and Arizona, uh?
There sure are a bunch of cranky Republicons around lately- a whole herd of them!
This is a classic example of Tea Bag economic reasoning at it's worst! Question: Wasn't it the banks who were responsible for putting those people in homes they couldn't possibly afford? That's what banks do for God's sakes! It's the primary job that banks have performed since the inception of the banking industry! It's simple; they look at the numbers, crunch those numbers, and if those numbers don't add up, they refuse to grant the loan! But, in this case, they quickly realized they were in a situation in which they couldn't lose! A family pays their morgage and the bank wins; a family defaults on the mortgage and the government steps in and pays it off. In either case, the banks got their money and poor Joe Taxpayer is left holding the bag!
So what the Tea Baggers refuse to see is that what the banks got by with was an act of highest criminality; and yet, with rare exceptions, virtually nobody in that industry is serving time in prison! So in answer to his question, "Do you want more [and better] government oversight of the industry? The answer is YES, YES, YES!
He's in kissing A - - mode, trying to drum up enough money to pay back child support . They need to put him in jail.
Can you imagine, didn't pay his taxes and he is representing people that are paying taxes. He was also giving advice on Romney Care, I mean Obama care but he hasn't been too concerned about his own kids.
Those banks not only got socialized with a massive bailout by Bush and Co., but they immediately gave themselves raises that defy reasoning on tax payers' dime. They also got tax welfare exemptions for billions and billions of dollars.
The government didn't actually have the money to fund these welfare tax exemptions for large corporations. This money has had to be borrowed from COMMUNIST CHINA.
The corporate whores all need to be thrown out on their rumps.
The American People need to start holding career politicians and corporate whores like Walsh accountable.
The staffs of some of these legislatures are a hundred or more, for why?
To handle lobbyists.
Lobbying your congressperson is Constitutional but once any service, trip, campaign fund or anything else is accepted by any one of these.
That is BRIBERY and we should not let them hide behind the word lobbying ever again.
It only gives sycophants like Walsh to serve their masters, in this case Wall Street banks with impunity.
Point is, a person that doesn't have the money to access someone like Walsh as obviously wall street banks have will not get equal representation.
In other words, entities, including foreign entities that didn't even vote for him would get access to him and pretty much any other representative with their billions they bring to capitol Hill.
Let's see how much he rants and raves about wall street then.
What an arrogant pompous jacka**! He should be told to STFU and leave if anyone is going to have to leave. Voters have a right to attend a meeting with their elected representative in a public setting without being insulted by that jerkoff. But, what can one expect from the likes of a TP rep who thinks everyone who doesn't believe the same way he does is a fool?
"We've made it as easy as possible for people to be in a home!"
Really? I keep reading about record foreclosures. Hell, I own my home and will pay over 5 grand in property taxes this year just for the privelege of being able to stay in it. Easy? I don't think so. Was there a full moon? This guy must be a Repub-lycan! (TM)
UNBELIEVABLE. I don't know his educational or professional back ground. As far as I know we do have freedom of speech according to the First Amendment of our Constitution. Remind him that we have the right to debate any point he brings up. WHO IS THIS MOUTH?
I am a retired bookkeeper. I have also spent hours processing loan documents for mortgage companies. Banks, mortgage companies, investment companies are a large part of the damned mess we are in. Also, greedy corporations have played a big part in our economical mess. They have shipped our manufacturing and technical services out of this country. Then they manage to bank their profits off shore so they don't have to pay taxes. Hell, there are companies right here in the good old USA that, I understand, are delinquent or just don't pay their taxes period. Not only do they not pay taxes, some of them are government contractors.
Mr Walsh, what hole have you got your head inside! THERE HAS TO BE REGULATIONS OR ARE YOU CONDONING RAMPANT , CRIMINAL BUSINESS PRACTICES. Regulations=Laws. They have to be enforced by an outside entity for the protection of all American citizens.
I am all for tax reforms, reduction of deductions, etc as long as the tax code applies evenly to all. Set up some type fraud detection.
He is against freedom of speech -except his.
The first '60's demonstrations began with "Freedom of Speech" and the Republicons have hated it and fought it since. Reagan was the governor who was ACTING at the time.
Wish I would of been there if he would of pointed and yelled at me I'd of DRO**ED him like a bad habiit which he is! A agg batt charge would of been WORTH IT! While he was out I'd look to see if he had any GOLD teeth the ones left in his head that is! IMHO LOL
What a complete idiot! Forget about another cup of coffee. How about another line of coke? No wonder this clown doesn`t have any money left to pay his child support! He says you have to listen. He`s the only one not listening. Typical teabagger doesn`t know his ass from a hole in the ground, but you can`t teach him anything. He already knows it all, just ask him. Oh well, you vote for a teabagger, you get a teabagger!
This guy is as transparent as KochCain.
What is going on in IL to have elected this jerk?
Really? You Mr. Welsh are the type of person we don't need in government. It is obvious where your campaign funds come from...it will be my pleasure to let the voters in this fine country know exactly what an ass you are.
