I think it is odd that 4 women have stepped up insisting Herman did something to them. We will never know unless there is solid proof which apparently there is not. Unfortunately it is too late. The damage has been done. If Herman ran knowing these allegations were out there, he was dumb to think they would not surface. At the same time, why did these women wait? Well, I noticed a couple of things about this new "allegation" regarding sexual harassment.

1) President's of any association don't hold job interviews, that's done by HR Department and interview panels.

2) Second, each of these allegations are supposedly verbal or nothing that can be actually proved in a court of law, other than "he said, she said". Each accuser says the same thing, they took offense to a verbal comments made, but are vague regarding what those comments were.

3) Most associations- Medical, Dental, Legal, Restaurants, etc., will settle out of court-regardless of innocence or guilt; rather than go through the time, expense and grief of a court battle. This is an established practice most insurance companies and associations can confirm. Accusers count on this for quick money. Plus, the fact, that the third accuser grabbed her cash; and now that she and her husband, received their payout by the association, they're no longer are interested in pursuing media coverage and this issue. It seems a little "Gold-Digger" to me....

4) Herman Cain is a successful, wealthy businessman in his own right. Why did each of these so-called accusers wait eleven years? Why weren't criminal cases filed years ago, or at the very least, civil litigation brought against Mr. Cain? Has anyone considered, eleven years ago, these accusers would actually have to "prove" their accusations...Today, however, they need only to verbally accuse and the damage is done. What they are counting on is Herman Cain being a GOP Contender, and a quick insurance/association payout.

No, what we have here is a two-fold "smear campaign". If there were any real basis to these claims, there would have been criminal action or civil suits years ago. However, what better way to get their "15" minutes of fame, grab a few headlines, cash in on a few bucks, and irrevocably damage any GOP contention than accuse now?

Gharms - Because I was rather young when the Clinton scandel took place I decided to do some research into the supposed "rape" cases.

1) Ms. Flowers never claimed rape or harassment, she claimed that she had a 12 year relationship with Clinton which he denied and then later admitted to a 1 time "sexual encounter". She then sued Clinton's aides and later Mrs. Clinton for defamation. This of course after admitting she had made $500,000 off of selling her story. - To echo a few others, a relationship between to consenting adults, no matter what you may think of his cheating, is not the same as sexual harassment.

2) Ms. Jones case is a bit more grey. You are at least correct in this one that she did claim harassment. Again though at NO TIME DID SHE CLAIM RAPE. This is a VERY big difference. The reason I use claim in her case is that the evidence in this event WAS made public and official testimony from a police officer guarding then Gov. Clinton testified that "Paula told him she was available to be Clinton's regular girlfriend if he so desired." Now I am not niave enough to say that there definitely couldn't have been some witness tampering here but later actions by Ms. Jones also calls her credibility into question. She too, as with Ms. Flowers, attempted to sell her story. I bring this up because one of the things that lends credibility to the current accusations in my mind is that none of these women are attempting to sell their story and 3 out of the four have remained unidentified which takes away the "getting their 5 minutes of fame" argument that so many seem to be fond of.

If Clinton did in fact harass anyone then I would call him out just as quickly, but the evidence in that case seems to point to the fact that he did not,and contrary to your inflammatory and apparently non-researched statement he never came close to raping anyone.

The accusations against Cain on the other hand seem to at the very least be credible and Cain's actions in responding to them cast him in a poor light. Denying that he had any knowledge of them was bad enough, then attempting to claim he wasn't aware of a settlement just makes no sense. The fact is that if someone accuses you of sexual harassment it's not something you are going to easily forget. Regarding not knowing about the check I would almost give him a pass except that as the President of the organization it seems to me that it would be his responsibility to know this kind of thing; I am willing to admit that I might be wrong on this front but it just smells fishy to me.

One last thing, I have seen a few comments about the fact that it is odd that this woman was flown in to see the President of the organization. Those making these comments have obviously never applied for any position as an high ranking executive. It is not uncommon for companies to fly in candidates from around the country in order to find the best possible executives, when a business is hiring someone for a 6-7 digit a year job a $300 plane ticket isn't a bad expense to make sure you have the right person.

5. Is accused of being Socialist/Marxist/Communist/Leftist, when he is more to the center(and sometimes right of) than left wing.

6. His wife Michelle is the center of all kinds of attacks by the right wingers, on everything from where she shops, her weight, and her looks. I don't remember Bush's critics saying the same types of things about HIS first lady(who wasn't thin nor very pretty).

7. Has had his "policies" attacked and negatively criticized by his opponents, when most haven't taken effect yet, nor is there strong evidence that they are failures(or would fail). His critics think they are crystal ball gazers.

8. Was accused of being racist, because his pastor(a war veteran) gave 1 or 2 sermons that were over the top and full of anger. they comprised of 5 or 10 minute sound bites taken from those couple of sermons. Obama's critics claimed all of Wright's sermons for the past 20 years were racist and full of hate for America, based on a few minutes of audio from 1 or 2 sermons.

It was plain to see that many jumped on the "hate Obama" bandwagon without enough valid reason to dislike him or his policies that much. Cantor and McConnell publicly admitted they were setting out to make Obama fail, in the first few days Obama entered the WH.

Many citizens did the exact SAME thing, by taking any rhetoric they heard as some kind of proof or justification for their already made up bigoted minds, and dislike for Obama.

Bigotry(and racism to a lesser degree) are the basis mof MANY of the arguments Obama's haters bring to the table. Most try to be subtle about it, some are blatant. A few do it on a subconscious level, and don't realize it(or will never admit it).

Now Cain:

1. Isn't very knowledgeable about our relationship with the rest of the world(he comes of as pretty ignorant, actually).

2. Worked as a lobbyist for BIG $$ interests, and has close ties to the Koch bros.

3. Has shown himself to be a bigot/misogynist against those who don't follow his beliefs(like Muslims) and women(on the abortion issue).

4. Can't answer questions directly about possible past transgressions, without deflecting (or outright lying).

5. Might have sexually harassed 4 women.

Those assaults on Obama's character for the reasons I listed above, don't have a leg to stand on, and most were the result of bigotry.

The reasons I give for Cain being criticized, are pretty valid reasons to question him.

Obama, throughout all the baseless and ridiculous attacks on his character, never played the "race card".
