“President Obama plunged into the midst of Europe’s rapidly disintegrating debt deal on Thursday, arriving in this iconic seaside town to exhort European leaders to get their financial house in order,” the New York Times says. “During an initial meeting with President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, Mr. Obama called a resolution of the European financial crisis the most important task facing world leaders gathered at the Group of 20 summit and largely stuck to his administration’s overall message that Europe’s leaders must ‘flesh out details’ about the plan they announced last week to deal with the debt crisis in the euro zone countries.”
Politico’s Ben Smith: “[A]s the president’s re-election team begins in earnest to attack Mitt Romney, Obama faces one of the most difficult tests of his political career: to tear down Romney without getting a single smudge of dirt on his own shirtfront - a trick he has performed deftly in previous races.”

Romney believes in universal healthcare, but only for blue states. He believes in the Bush doctrine, of pre-emptive military action, but not if it involves his five sons who went to college instead of entering the military. He specializes in "economic stuff" like building up his own wealth, but has never worked on projects in the inner city and has no idea what the inside of a public school looks like. See, I tore down Romney and I haven't even finished my Dunkin' Donuts egg-ham-and-cheese on a biscuit.
Wow Amy,
Did you read this article ?
Did you?
“[A]s the president’s re-election team begins in earnest to attack Mitt Romney, Obama faces one of the most difficult tests of his political career: to tear down Romney without getting a single smudge of dirt on his own shirtfront - a trick he has performed deftly in previous races.”
Amy,
What does that say about obama? You go in romney (who I don't like) and give the talking points. Obama is in bed with this group, they know he can't stand on his own record.
Taxpayers have spent about $169 billion to rescue Fannie and Freddie, the most expensive bailout of the 2008 financial crisis. The government estimates it will cost at least $51 billion more to support the companies through 2014, and as much as $142 billion in the most extreme case.
Maybe Obama can work on this........... we call the bank"banksters", and we call Fannie and Freddie (who have not paid the taxpayer back) what???? do we need an occupy Fannie/Freddie (OFF) movement?
Question for G20, do you understand what "account overdrawn" mean??
Cannes, France, right? Wow--what a place to have a summit about economic crisis in Europe and US. Ironic, isn't it? And maybe a bit insensitive to the people suffering the effects of the crisis?
Its sad that we have to cring and cross our fingers whenever Obama goes to thes things. We have to hope that he doesnt embarras our country too bad. 2012 cant get here soon enough. Hopefully, we can start puting the whats left of America back together. I just cant beleive another Democrate has not challenged him. Hillary would have won in a heartbeat.
I can see your concern Realhope, especially after Cheney/Bush embarrassed us every time they left the White house. But you can relax now, we have a real President in control.
" a real President"...I almost spilled my coffee when I read this...I think that "embarrassment" is our President's middle name, especially when he goes overseas and opens his mouth.
LOL, Im not a Bush fan, but Really!!! The world looks at Obama, and laughs. He comes off so uninformed and is very uncomfortable in world arena. Heavan forbid his Teleprompeter breaks. Then we are all screwed. He makes Bush actually look kinda smart. LOL
Realhope and juanita dominguez, you both showed your true colors. You both cow tow to the tea people GOP republicans. There's not an ounce of truth is either one of you twos posts. Have a good day neither of you's posts are worth reading. Ignore
Mo,
I understand, you voted for Obama, your stubbern , you hate to admit you made a mistake, bury you head in the sand if it makes you feel better. But hey, We all make mistakes, no on cares, just get over it and move on. I know you think im a Republican becase of how post on here, but I am a proud Gay american who just call thinkgs like I see them.
Realhope - You must not be reading the same articles or listening to the same news casts. The President has increased America's standing abroad not diminished it as was the case with the last bunch in the White House. He's has outstanding foreign policy achievements and successes. You know you're entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts and I'm afraid that's what we have here. It's a shame because you only diminishe you own credibility and your own arguments.
Realhope Thats how I felt when the shrub bush went to these things. How can we put things back together when there is no compromise. The were right your wrong mind set is what's breaking AMERICA.
Smitty,
Its your messiah's inablility to grasp basic economic concepts and the feeding of the progressive liberals that have this country breaking.
MRWSR. Tell me how much your party is helping? Show me one time that your party has been working with the President. Oh I forgot extending the bush tax breaks, your party said that would being back jobs. Where are the jobs?!! Show me the Bipartisanship in congress. They took a day to work on a motto, why not jobs? By the way where are the jobs? If your party would get off its ass and do something for the American people. This would be a better place. IN GOD WE TRUST
Smitty,
Tell Reid to let the 18 bills the house has passed to a least come to a yes or no vote or mabey debate. The Fed is growing jobs, that speaks volumes, Obama said that God is behind him and wants his bill to pass. Carney even miss quotes the Bible to back him up.
I am amazed at the thought process of a liberal
Its too late for comprimise. Obama had many chances and passed. For the good of our country, we need to get Obama out and put someone in office that is a uniter not a devider.
MRWSR, how many jobs bills passed by Congress are sitting in the Senate not being voted on by Harry Reid?
MRWSR.
President Obama could have recinded TARP, which started under Bush, but he didn't. President Obama also extended the Bush tax cuts. If you didn't like Obama's response to the financial crisis, I'm not sure you'd be much happier with a Republican in office. (Of course, Obama bailed out the auto companies, which some Republicans were against. Would you have preferred the American auto industry be allowed to go bankrupt?)
JFK,
Congress can not create jobs. There are no bills called "JOB BILLS". I know what you are hunting for here. There are bills that will simulate economic growth, that builds market confidence, that builds consumer confidence, that builds jobs. There are 18 bills that have been sent to the senate, that includes a budget.
Amy,
You stick with the talking points. TARP was bad from the start. The tax cut extension saved jobs. Just a small chunck of change in this mess. So blame bush, its you only hope.
MRWSR.
Nothing beats building market confidence like bringing the nation's credit rating to the brink of a downgrade, like House Republican did this year, all to protect the tax rate of the wealthiest Americans.
MRWSR, than why does Obama keep calling his bill a "Jobs Bill".
Amy,
That is a lie, blame them all you want for the downgrade.
JFK,
Because he can't call it stimulus and has to be able to blame repulblicans when it does not pass.
"Obama faces one of the most difficult tests of his political career: to tear down Romney without getting a single smudge of dirt on his own shirtfront - a trick he has performed deftly in previous races.”
Good article by Politico. Left unsaid is that Obama can get away with smear politics, only with the tacit consent of the liberal media. JornOlist, partners in Obama's slanders.
MSNBC is on board the Obama team for 2012.
I wonder if this will increase thier stock on wall street ? Which I believe is at NYSE.
Thank God Obama is going to the European Summit. I am sure he can give a lot of advice on how to handle the crisis. Yes, with his failed policies in the US, wouldn't he be such a great role model for Europe? Give me a break! We are headed towards Europe's path and the great "Obama" is going there to give advice. I am so embarrased. Where he needs to be now is back in Congress to assist in legislation to put Americans back to work!!!
Where he needs to be now is back in Congress to assist in legislation to put Americans back to work!!!
Got that a little backwards, don't you Dee? It's Congress that needs to assist the President by passing his Jobs Bill.
Now that God supports the Jobs Bill, I think Congress should pass it. What say you?
Cue the mob that will whine that Obama is "taking another vacation at taxpayers expense." They should be here in 5..............4...................3....................2.........................1.
Al - The Tea Rats are sinking with their ship or ships however you want to see it. All of their candidates are the butt of deserving jokes. The only candidate with a prayer of a chance to become the nominee is Romney and he's flipped on every single issue the Tea Rats care about. Of course independents aren't going to like his flipping either. All it will take will be a few good ads with some very damming sound bits like, "corporations are people", or "we have to let foreclosures take the housing market all the way down" and he's gone. So Tea Rats have to cling to their stories of Obama failures and their delusions of granduer coming their way. Tea Rats for whom does the the bell toll....it tolls for thee.
Obama 2012! We have the best president in the world! God is good!!
I find it funny that when First Read puts up a story about the GOP, this place goes wild. But when a simple story about Obama is posted, the left have nothing to say about their great President.
