Cain campaign dismisses report of third woman as 'baseless allegations'

AP reports of a third woman who has come forward accusing Herman Cain of inappropriate conduct.

AP:

A third former employee says she considered filing a workplace complaint over what she considered aggressive and unwanted behavior by Herman Cain when she worked for the presidential candidate in the 1990s. She says the behavior included a private invitation to his corporate apartment. She worked for the National Restaurant Association when he was its head. She told The Associated Press that Cain made sexually suggestive remarks or gestures about the same time that two co-workers had settled separate harassment complaints against him. The employee described situations in which she said Cain told her he had confided to colleagues how attractive she was and invited her to his corporate apartment outside work. She spoke on condition of anonymity, saying she feared retaliation.

"Mr. Cain has said over the past two days at public events that we could see other baseless allegations made against him as this appalling smear campaign continues," Cain campaign spokesman J.D. Gordon tells NBC's Andrew Rafferty. "He has never acted in the way alleged by inside-the-beltway media, and his distinguished record over 40 years spent climbing the corporate ladder speaks for itself. Since his critics have not been successful in attacking his ideas, they are resorting to bitter personal attacks. Mr. Cain deserves better."

That sound you hear is Cain circling the drain...

It no longer matters how many more women come forward, his handling of this crisis has been dreadful at best! lol

Shame on Cain!

I don't know Feisty, is his campaign circling the drain? Who picks up the anti-Romney vote if Cain is toast?

Newt? I haven't heard exactly what Cain is supposed to have done, but what I have heard is not anything worse than the things we know Newt has done.

Perry? I'd guess he will pick up Cain's voters should Cain go down, but Perry has a LOT of issues that make him even less palatable than Cain, they just haven't come to the fore yet.

Bachman? Yeah, I can see her winning a competition to see who can eat the most paste while sitting in a corner, but not the Republican nomination.

So how many came forward with Billy Bob stories during his run? Flowers, and the rest. Didn't stop his election.

Billy Bob didn't have an issues until Monicagate, and he then assisted all of us by asking the question defining sex. Remember Billy Bob did not have sex with that lady! Only got a BJ.

Just like the tip hotline into law enforcement. Always a lot of claims, but what is really the truth? Seems like a lot of people may very well be seeking their own version of "15 minutes of fame".

Poor Pawlenty must really be regretting his premature pullout these days. Nice, safe and dull may start looking more attractive to conservatives as the other GOPsters implode. I'd bet that Timmy never sexually harassed anyone, and would never give a weirdly loose Perry-style performance either.

Well of course Cain would say more false allegations would come out in the future. It's the only way to explain away all the true allegations that he knew were going to come out in the future. He was trying to be on the offensive. hmm... but I see right through it.

"There were more who did not"?? What kind of stupid comment is that? So that makes it ok? That's like saying, "Mr. Doe only had 2 girls report him of rape. There are more who did not."

I know, it must've been the way they were dressed at work huh? They should've known better than to be in a room alone with management.

...and then there's this little nugget...

GOP pollster makes Herman Cain accusation

A veteran Republican pollster and former National Restaurant Association employee said Wednesday morning that Herman Cain sexually harassed a woman at an Arlington, Va., restaurant in the late 1990s.

Chris Wilson, now the principal of an Oklahoma-based GOP consulting firm, said in an interview on Oklahoma City's KTOK radio station that the episode took place in the neighborhood where Cain kept an apartment when he headed the restaurant trade group.

Why is this Cain person not toast yet? How much of this harassment is society willing to accept from a successful man. Is he behaving in way that most males consider is normal in the work place maybe? I, as a woman, am already sick to my stomach that this pig has so much attention in the media today. Flush him down the toilet already!

If he was a Liberal or Democrat, it would be the the same rush to judgement and hoping for the worst, but the the usual suspects on the right would be the ones prematurely gleefully gloating...

How many really great legislators/leaders have we lost to the politics of personal destruction? Most have a skeleton or two in the closet, which is why someone once said "Let the one who has NEVER sinned cast the first stone." but casting the first stone is now a big time industry. Anyone with a potentially fatal (read sexual) lapse in judgement has to think twice, then think again before embarking on a political career.

Held to today's standards and in the 24/7 news coverage, many very prominent personages in American history would never have made it into office, if they ran to begin with. Whatever transpired between Cain and the women involved in this latest episode of "Judgement by Accusation" will be known before long, and then his fate in the race will be clear. If it turns out that he's a lecherous, stalking, groping pig, he'll be gone and good riddance. If it turns out that he's just an ass who made some suggestive and smarmy comments, the damage is already done and probably so is Herman. In the court of public opinion, if the accusation is odious enough, the veracity becomes almost secondary.

In the 1700's, if you wanted to damage someone you didn't like, you accused them of witchcraft. In the 1950's if you were accused of being a communist, you were sure to lose your job, friends, and place in the community whether or not the accusation proved true. Today the accusation of "pedophile" gets the same result.

Rooting for other people to fall/fail is the province of the partisan and the loser

I suspect the greatest of the gleeful gloaters you reference are his Republican rivals, as Democrats would have welcomed the Hermanator (his term) into the 2012 race for POTUS. And, although we may have lost some "great legislators/leaders to the politics of personal destruction", there is a significant difference between that and political self-destruction. Whatever is the outcome of this story, be consoled that at least Mr. Cain wont be mourned among the "great leaders" we have lost. In addition, "if it turns out that he's just an ass who made some suggestive and smarmy comments" that would make him guilty of sexual harassment of employees in the workplace. You don't seem to think that seemingly lesser infraction should end his career, but fortunately the law states that women no longer need to tolerate that sort of abuse from their bosses.

I can't wait for the Republican nominees to post their comments here, as that was my obvious point of reference, only the disingenuous would pretend to think otherwise. As bad news for the front runner is good news for the rest of the field, stating the obvious seemed so well, obvious.

It is doubtful if Herman Cain would ever be elected to any office let alone be a "great leader" , Like FDR, whose polio would have been exposed by opposition research and surely ended his political career long before his first attempt at national office. Or Dwight Eisenhower, whose affair with his aide, Kay Summersby would have been exposed by opposition research and ended his political career before it began. JFK?

Under today's "journalism" those three and countless others at the municipal, state and national level would have been prevented from or never have attempted to seek office. Herman Cain may be 'the least of us", but the situation is the same regardless of the merits or political stripe of the person involved. My statement that '...If it turns out that he's just an ass who made some suggestive and smarmy comments, the damage is already done and probably so is Herman." is a simple statement of fact.

As to your reference to the "seemingly lesser infraction" of bad speech as opposed to stalking and groping someone...yes, that DOES seem to be a lesser infraction as FORTUNATELY every state has stiff penalties and things like orders of protection against the latter...but you can feel good about your high standards, higher than the law, society in general and well, me.

Thanks for the rebuttal, only I wasn't defending Cain, calling him a "great leader" or condoning sexual harassment, I was commenting on the endless parade of politicians sexual scandals, the politics of personal destruction (Cain didn't 'out' himself, did he?) and the double standard that the left and right use when the creep is one of their own.

"Inside-the-Beltway Media"??? This seems more like a smear from the Perry campaign.

He lied about the first two. Who can possibly believe him now? I can't believe his campaign wasn't ready for this to come up. Has Hermy lived in the United States in the last 20 years? If you have any skeletons in your closet, their going to come out and dance in your face!

Once again, the deed itself is not so much the issue. He lied, the lie made him look stupid, he changed the story, he refused to talk about it, another incident is reported and it's "baseless"...What next? Can he just tell the truth and let the American people decide how they feel about it?

Evidently, Politico had approached Mr. Cain's campaign for their comments ten days before they went public with the story. To now act as though he was caught off-guard by the media on the first day of coverage is completely disingenuous. Rarely, would a President have that much warning before needing to give his first reaction to an issue. Feigning amnesia for the events, 'confusion' between the terms agreement and settlement, and a plethora of misleading statements was obviously the best strategy he or his team believed they could devise for dealing with this still-developing scandal.

Ann Coulter: "Our blacks are so much better than their blacks," she said, speaking of Democrats. "To become a black Republican, you don't just roll into it. You're not going with the flow...and that's why we have very impressive blacks in the Republican party."

He started out blaming the Dems and then he started blaming his buddy Perry. He even tried playing the race card but he remebered that he said there is no racism in America. So he's now beginnig to realized that he is a want-a-be politician and this is politics 101.

I think he realizes now, all those lovin republician canidates want to be president too...and it's making him a little paranoid to be runnin & funnin for el presidenta. So he has got to learn how to play the lame/blame game...but it ain't the media this time. It's them chick-ens cluckinnn!!! The republician are going to have to do more than hold their noses. Wait until we see who these women are...would'nt you like to kown??? :-D

Now I will just cut and paste this one:

DAVID AXELROD'S PATTERN OF SEXUAL MISBEHAVIOR

                                  November 9, 2011

Herman Cain has spent his life living and working all over the country -- Indiana, Georgia, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, Washington, D.C. -- but never in Chicago.

So it's curious that all the sexual harassment allegations against Cain emanate from Chicago: home of the Daley machine and Obama consigliere David Axelrod.

Suspicions had already fallen on Sheila O'Grady, who is close with David Axelrod and went straight from being former Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley's chief of staff to president of the Illinois Restaurant Association (IRA), as being the person who dug up Herman Cain's personnel records from the National Restaurant Association (NRA).

The Daley-controlled IRA works hand-in-glove with the NRA. And strangely enough, Cain's short, three-year tenure at the NRA is evidently the only period in his decades-long career during which he's alleged to have been a sexual predator.

After O'Grady's name surfaced in connection with the miraculous appearance of Cain's personnel files from the NRA, she issued a Clintonesque denial of any involvement in producing them -- by vigorously denying that she knew Cain when he was at the NRA. (Duh.)

And now, after a week of conservative eye-rolling over unspecified, anonymous accusations against Cain, we've suddenly got very specific sexual assault allegations from an all-new accuser out of ... Chicago.

Herman Cain has never lived in Chicago. But you know who has? David Axelrod! And guess who lived in Axelrod's very building? Right again: Cain's latest accuser, Sharon Bialek.

Bialek's accusations were certainly specific. But they also demonstrated why anonymous accusations are worthless.

Within 24 hours of Bialek's press conference, friends and acquaintances of hers stepped forward to say that she's a "gold-digger," that she was constantly in financial trouble -- having filed for personal bankruptcy twice -- and, of course, that she had lived in Axelrod's apartment building at 505 North Lake Shore Drive, where, she admits, she knew the man The New York Times calls Obama's "hired muscle."

Throw in some federal tax evasion, and she's Obama's next Cabinet pick.

The reason all this is relevant is that both Axelrod and Daley have a history of smearing political opponents by digging up claims of sexual misconduct against them.

John Brooks, Chicago's former fire commissioner, filed a lawsuit against Daley six months ago claiming Daley threatened to smear him with sexual harassment accusations if Brooks didn't resign. He resigned -- and the sexual harassment allegations were later found to be completely false.

Meanwhile, as extensively detailed in my book "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America," the only reason Obama became a U.S. senator -- allowing him to run for president -- is that David Axelrod pulled sealed divorce records out of a hat, first, against Obama's Democratic primary opponent, and then against Obama's Republican opponent.

One month before the 2004 Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate, Obama was way down in the polls, about to lose to Blair Hull, a multimillionaire securities trader.

But then The Chicago Tribune -- where Axelrod used to work -- began publishing claims that Hull's second ex-wife, Brenda Sexton, had sought an order of protection against him during their 1998 divorce proceedings.

From then until Election Day, Hull was embroiled in fighting the allegation that he was a "wife beater." He and his ex-wife eventually agreed to release their sealed divorce records. His first ex-wife, daughters and nanny defended him at a press conference, swearing he was never violent. During a Democratic debate, Hull was forced to explain that his wife kicked him and he had merely kicked her back.

Hull's substantial lead just a month before the primary collapsed with the nonstop media attention to his divorce records. Obama sailed to the front of the pack and won the primary. Hull finished third with 10 percent of the vote.

Luckily for Axelrod, Obama's opponent in the general election had also been divorced.

The Republican nominee was Jack Ryan, a graduate of Dartmouth and Harvard law and business schools, who had left his lucrative partnership at Goldman Sachs to teach at an inner-city school on the South Side of Chicago.

But in a child custody dispute some years earlier, Ryan's ex-wife, Hollywood sex kitten Jeri Lynn Ryan, had alleged that, while the couple was married, Jack had taken her to swingers clubs in Paris and New York.

Jack Ryan adamantly denied the allegations. In the interest of protecting their son, he also requested that the records be put permanently under seal.

Axelrod's courthouse moles obtained the "sealed" records and, in no time, they were in the hands of every political operative in Chicago. Knowing perfectly well what was in the records, Chicago Tribune attorneys flew to California and requested that the court officially "unseal" them -- over the objections of both Jack and Jeri Ryan.

Your honor, who knows what could be in these records!

A California judge ordered them unsealed, which allowed newspapers to publish the salacious allegations, and four days later, Ryan dropped out of the race under pressure from idiot Republicans (who should be tracked down and shot).

With a last-minute replacement of Alan Keyes as Obama's Republican opponent, Obama was able to set an all-time record in an Illinois Senate election, winning with a 43 percent margin.

And that's how Obama became a senator four years after losing a congressional race to Bobby Rush. (In a disastrous turn of events, Rush was not divorced.)

Axelrod destroyed the only two men who stood between Obama and the Senate with illicitly obtained, lurid allegations from their pasts.

In 2007, long after Obama was safely ensconced in the U.S. Senate, The New York Times reported: "The Tribune reporter who wrote the original piece (on Hull's sealed divorce records) later acknowledged in print that the Obama camp had 'worked aggressively behind the scenes' to push the story."

Some had suggested, the Times article continued, that Axelrod had "an even more significant role -- that he leaked the initial story."

This time, Obama's little helpers have not only thrown a bomb into the Republican primary, but are hoping to destroy the man who deprives the Democrats of their only argument in 2012: If you oppose Obama, you must be a racist.

Headline News reports a fourth woman, President Obama's late Mother had relations with Cain when she was a notorious cougar MILF gym teacher which makes the President a US citizen after all. Put them all to a DNA test and see who comes out the Daddy.

                                      Darrell,

Cain is out. The GOP is not about to allow the election choice to be between Cain ( Mr. Black), and Obama, (Mr. Mocha), they are going to put a white guy in their somewhere , somehow! Look to Haley Barbour and his minions as the source of this story. In any case Cain was just a little TOO successful as the GOP's token negro. The really alarming part of this story is that Cain doesn't seem to know that!

Yup, too much success breeds contempt. Cain should have known better, but tokens never believe they are actually tokens - just ask Michael Steele... He's just a pawn on the Koch brothers chess board, White Bishop takes Black Pawn - check mate! They want to crown Perry but he acts too much like a rook...

We all know damn well that one (or more ) of Cain's opponants dug this up, let it out and are now dancing with glee. He was doing too well, getting too close and elitist Perry didn't like it. Come on people......we will never, ever have a president who is squeeky clean, np one on earth is clean enough to please everyone! Whether he did it or not........I am so SICK and tired of dirty tactics, underhanded dealings, clandestine politics. Would it be better to have Cain or someone who stoops this LOW to stop his opponant? If 'someone' stoops to these levels, how would he be as president of the US? Do you actually think this would be his last dirty trick?
