MCLEAN, Va. -- Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain said his campaign is between the point of destruction and acceptance.
Speaking to the Consumer Electronics Association, Cain recounted the accuracy of a story relayed to him about the stages of presidential campaigns. They are: 1) ignore, 2) ridicule, 3) destroy, 4) accept.
Referencing the third step, Cain said, “Well, we got a little of that this week," referring to the controversy that has erupted following his acknowledgment of a settlement of sexual harassment complaints during his time at the National Restaurant Association.
“There are factions that are trying to destroy me personally, as well as this campaign,” Cain said.
But he remained confident that voters will lift him from stage three to four.
He focused on his campaign during the top of his speech, then talked to the group about the importance of technology.
It is Cain’s third day of appearances in the Washington, DC area. From here he addresses Docs4PatientCare, then heads to Capitol Hill this afternoon.

I would check Rove if it was me there Herman. Motive Means and Opportunity
Spot on Floyd!
Who doesn't LOVE an October surprise
Am I the only one who is truly enjoying the discomfort the right wing nuts are experiencing about this?
There is NO way Rove was going to allow this Cain clown the nomination!
Acceptance follows denial righties... lmao!
PS: Perry is next... you can bet on it!
Just saying there Betty. The Left has no motive for destroying old Herman he can do well enough on his own. I think he needs to check under the other side of the bed for his goblins.
It's a shame cause nothing would of been finer then ol' Herman running against President Obama!
Would of made the Clinton/Dole race in 1996 look 'tight'! lol
Feisty, I kinda think a few more debates or New Hampshire style speeches will do Perry in on his own. Here is the scary thought, though. Newt the Kook is starting to rise in the polls. Anyone but Romney, eh?
Yep, Inde, anyone actively working to destroy Cain now is wearing an elephant lapel pin. Anyone wearing a donkey pin - at least anyone with any sense - is wishing this harassment thing never came up right now.
Poor little Hermie... always blaming everyone but himself. Give it up - you're done.
LoL Anyone besides me remember how they laughed at Hillary Clinton's theory of the "vast right-wing conspiracy"?
No one takes it seriously until it takes THEM down.
I didn't laugh then, but I'm laughing now.
'There are factions trying to destroy me.'
Well, duh! I wonder if Mr. Cain has considered that some of the operatives working with some of the other candidates vying for the nomination might be behind these revelations? If he's not smart enough to figure that one out on his own I sure wouldn't want him as president.
Of course even if this 'scandal' hadn't emerged, there is plenty of time for Americans to get out their calculators to figure out that the one, perhaps only thing, that Michelle Bachmann is right about is that when you examine Cain's 9-9-9 plan it really does look more like 666. Gee, I never thought that I would find myself agreeing with Bachmann on anything!
It's ok Ron. Take two asprin, lay down in a darkened room and remember, not even the GOP is dumb enough to nominate Ms. Bachmann.
FR: Cain: 'There are factions that are trying to destroy me'
That's because KochCain has been brainwashed see...

Mr Cain, the faction is called Hell Kitchen of Politics. Too hot? get out.
Ron:
Scandal????? The man is still a private citizen, you are talking as if he is the sitting POTUS.
The GOP let Rove get his nose under the tent and now has to live with the results. Dividing the nation is no way to govern, Tea-Baggers.
Can't be Rove.
Hannity has been screeching for 2 days straight that it's all the Mainstream Media that has caused all this uproar. Guess the 'mainstream media' is the one that talked to Politico in the first place, and not those women, huh, Sean?
Yes, Cain is acting presidential (at least compared with the current one) in that regard.
Seems odd that Perry's camp signs on some high profile help around the same time this issue resurfaced.
Perry can't stand on his own merits, so I am not ruling out his camp for doing something like this.
The Republican nomination is Romney's to lose.
It sure does sucks when your own side is pulling your skeletons out of the closet. Behind door number two we have not one but two settlements on sexual harassment claims...
Said this in an earlier post, but gotta say it again.
Look under your bed, Hermie.
I don't care for Cains politics but it is pretty clear that some wealthy powerful interests (you know the people who own the "free press") have decided Cain needs removed so Mitt can take center stage, remember it would be equally easy to dig up dirt from Romney's past and have the press run it, but that isn't what the people who control the press want, they want Mitt, sorry Herman you a walking dead man politically speaking.
Love it when they eat their own! LMAO
It's a shame cause nothing would of been finer then ol' Herman running against President Obama!
Would of made the Clinton/Dole race in 1996 look 'tight'! lol
But fortunately for us conservatives....
the Romney/Obama race will look like the Nixon/McGovern race --- hahaha
Personally, Betty and Floyd,
I'd like to see the Hermanator pull up his big boy pants and attempt to at least ACT like presidential candidate material.
WTF does he think has happened to President Obama since day one of HIS candidacy, all the way up to, hmmm....today, for instance?
If he can't handle the heat, perhaps he should get out of the kitchen,...Oh wait, he already LEFT the Restaurant Association,...was that an early indicator of his "kitchen" prowess?
Sorry, but I've got no sympathy for this Palin retread. Remember when she used to mock Hilary about sucking it up and now she would love to copyright the term Lame Stream Media. Stop reacting like high schoolers, stay on your game, keep your head down and stop frickin' lying about your record, your past and your core beliefs,...
For Pete's sake!
The only faction tearing down Cain is Cain! He got on PBS yesterday and said that we know that China has nuclear technology and must be stopped...by out-building them! What tha?
He has no idea about the world. If this does not prove it, nothing will!
Sure elect Cain, suckers! Please, please, please make Cain your candidate!!!!!!!!!!!
@ Jack --
LoL So nice, it was well worth saying twice.
Seriously, great analysis. Democrats would have done anything to keep him IN the race.
HEY, HERMAN, don't feel bad. I love you. Feisty loves you. We ALL love you.
But I do draw the line at looking under your bed. ;-)
Time to bring out the family Herman! Line them up with your wife close to your side.
Of course it's Rove's doing - his past indicates that he would be the first in the line-up of suspects.
"Ron:
Scandal????? The man is still a private citizen, you are talking as if he is the sitting POTUS."
"Private" citizen? Or "privates"? The jokes just write themselves!! Either way, he's damn likely to REMAIN that way!!
By the way, Middle, haven't seen you on here much lately. Hopefully, you're in good health.
All right my friends, forgive me for this reality check. We don't yet know the extent of the alleged sexual harassment. Remember, harassment is more in the eye and ear of the beholder than anyone else. The "victim" is judge and jury. We have gone very, very far with harassment and political correctness. Maybe too far.
True story. I was telling a friend a joke. It was just the two of us. Another person, who was walking by, stopped a few feet away to listen - uninvited. As it happened, this person was "offended" by the punch line, and let me know. Me? I was offended myself, and asked what the hell they were doing eavesdropping.
There was a time we frowned on eavesdroppers. We called them nosy, we called them busybodies. They were not welcome around us. Today they are victims.
Mr. Cain may have gone well over the line of propriety. Let's wait to get the full story.
“There are factions that are trying to destroy me personally, as well as this campaign,” President Obama said. No I don't think or recall President Obama every saying those words. He fought threw the nastiest campaign fight ever in 2008. This dude CoCaine is not cut from the same cloth. To the GOP TeaBaggers always said dumb is better than smart any day. I don't know sheit and change my mind often to fit the mode - Romney, no that's CoCaine's words. WOW.
Time to face the music Mr. Cain! You used a rough sword with everybody, starting with President Obama. How soon you met your Golden Rule.
Not only you will lose your position within the Republican Party; but you will also lose all respect for choosing "selective amnesia"
I am sure that your same "friends" from the Republican Party went out of their way to find this little "secret" about you.
ITM had been serving a couple of week long Newsvine 'time-out's...
ITM had been serving a couple of week long Newsvine 'time-out's...
Seems like a lot longer than that.
"There are factions that are trying to destroy me"
Absolutely, Herman...and as for whom??? Just look in the mirror!!!!! You reap what you sow!!!
LoL I'm sure I would have something "legal" to say about this, but I want to hear the joke first.
Be careful. You may have to whisper. You never know who might be listening around here. ;-)
Anna Molly,
That was SO funny!
David Walker,
I hear you. And you're right. But the conversation about sexual harassment is one that is worth having again and again and again. There still exists a tendency to blame--and otherwise diminish--the victim.
I thought Republican presidential campaigns consisted of only three steps ...
DODGE -- DEFLECT -- DECEIVE
Nerm
Pretty sure it's more like the five D's:
Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge

You're as tall as my wife,
but she's not up to my life,
won't you come to my room to raise Cain?
Liberals are so terrified of Cain it is obvious to anyone with an IQ above 2 that the socialist loosers in this country are the ones that brought this information to light. Liberals are terrified because they know Obama doesn't have a chance against a rational businessman like Cain. America is a democratic republic, if you want socilism, you are going to have to leave, the majority of us like America without socialism.
MY ENEMY'S ENEMY
You know the old proverb: "My enemy's enemy is my friend." Sometimes odd coalitions can work together for a common cause when they have no other interests which bind them.
For example, who benefits most from a Cain exit? Immediately, probably Romney. Down the road, Obama.
So, a coalition of conspirators can consist of many assassins and many daggers. After the bloody battle, then back to the old ways, but for now, a warm day in January, when the worst of enemies become the best of friends.
This is coming from who? Someone with an IQ below 2?
Spot on Floyd!

I like this so much I want to fix popcorn before the Rachel Maddow show. One benefit of this coming to light is stopping Cain from making wise cracks about the 99 percent.
So sorry jack, you obviously don't have a clue. Socialist morons like you need to catch the next boat to a successful socialist country like Greece or Russia. Buh-Bye loosers.
So sorry jack, you obviously don't have a clue. Socialist morons like you need to catch the next boat to a successful socialist country like Greece or Russia. Buh-Bye loosers.
Two things just happened with that post. A.) you broke the rule that demands you show respect to your fellow posters. I can not speak for Jack, my IQ is 112, so I am not a moron. B.) you just earned a place on my mute list.
Wade is right, I apologize Jack.
And Herman has given anybody multiple ways to attack him. He should stop whining and deal with it. He is acting so presidential.
Cain has an IQ of 3 ?!?!? Wow!
Wow an apology. You just earned my respect Just Wondering Aloud. I am taking you off my mute list.
You don't have to agree with Jack or me. I just ask that you be respectful when you disagree.
Accepted, Just-Wondering-Aloud. I wish more people on these posts had the courage to admit their mistakes.
LOL.....you Liberals are just too funny.
All I have seen in the past several months is the ATTACK MODE for anyone who wins a straw poll in the Republican Party, and this thread is no exception. Yeah, Mr. Obama has got you on a short leash. Your talking points must be coming straight from the Obama headquarters in Chicago lala land via a direct feed from the White House media.
The real fun is going to begin when the Republican nominee and Mr. Obama face off. I can hardly wait to hear Mr. Obama's spin on "his" FAILED domestic and international policies. Shucks, Mr. Obama is going to try and "skirt" the major issues.
I hope Mr. Obama, along with his Czars-Liberal Cabinet members-special interest friends, can find the EXIT door to the White house by themselves after the Presidential election. Maybe he can remember to pull a Nixon departure waving from the top steps of Marine One.
Cain is a potted plant in Koch Bros Manure. Every complaint Cain has is wholly and completely manufactured.
ldo I predict it will be just the opposite if it comes to a debate. It will be the GOP candidate skirting the issues. It's GOP who is loosing ground in this election cycle. I was niave enough to think that the drubbing the GOP received would have taught them that their tactics do not work. The GOP will not be convinced to abandon the hard right until their numbers put them in a filibuster proof minority in congress.
One is comprised of Mitt Romney backers and the other is named Herman Cain.
It turns my stomach, but it's kind of like that bathroom scene in Trading Places.
"If you don't have a job blame yourself"...Herman Cain!
Well Herman you can blame yourself for this now. No one told you to sexually Harass those women.
No one told you to go on TV and disparage one of the victims. You only have yourself to blame.
The faction out to destroy you has been yourself....Herman Cain the Politainer!
@Just-Wondering-Aloud
I'm always amused when low rent individuals such as you can do nothing but tell people they disagree with to leave the country. Sorry loser, it's our country too and we aren't leaving. I know you GOPtp types love America but hate Americans but please quit telling us to leave if we don't like it. It6's just annoying and makes us kind of disagreeable. Personally, I'd really enjoy having one of you try to say it to my face. I know you don't have the stones to do that though.
@ David: Bravo, sir. Standing ovation. LoL
"Pizza dough for Silence"
I just love how the far right enjoy calling people who believe in this country and rights for all socialists. Too bad - they'll have another 4 years (after 2012) to cry and whimper.
no....no....hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...stop it Joanna...you're killing me!
['There are factions trying to destroy me.']
Yes, Hermie...those "factions" are called the GOP and Tea Party...did you REALLY think that because you are black, they weren't going to throw you under Sarah's bus?
In the immortal words of John McClane...welcome to the party, pal....you've just been swiftboated by your own party!
That's right, Feisty! Look no further than Karl Rove and the republican elite if you want to find who instigated this take down of "Sugar Cain".
Why do the guilty always want to blame others for their fall. Somebody else leaked the FACTS. They did not commit the infraction. The question should be, why were you trying to hide the truth? Truth is what is trying to destroy you Mr. Idiot Cain. That should be your new nick name
IDIOT CAIN
Thoughts that come to mind. Paranoia - everyone is out to get me. Then, this is politics, not everyone is going to like you. Third, will this hurt my book sales?
That in a nut shell is exactly what Herman must thinking. And just when the book sales where taking off too... Crap back to selling pizzas!
This how your book goes from the promotional stands at the front of Barnes & Noble to the bargain bins, in the back of the store, at Dollar Tree in the blink of an eye.
You can thank Karl for this fiasco Herman.
devie
You can thank Karl for this fiasco Herman - Don't think so!
Motive - weaken only viable "true conservative". Cowboy Ricky is the obvious beneficiary of a wounded Cain.
Means - Harold Simmons, the "Swift Boat" producer
Opportunity - plenty of media outlets now, don't need lame stream media
Skill - Ricky is a veteran of Texas politics; plenty of practice in this tactic.
Smoking gun - Nope, can't prove it but Cowboy Ricky is the only one I know who packs heat while jogging.
You do realize that when everyone is out to get you, paranoia is just smart thinking.
But he remained confidant that voters will lift him from stage three to four.
df -- Well Andrew made a mistake I think, lol.
Good luck with that Herman.
Andrew corrected his spelling... ; )
Sounds a lot like something Ross Perot would have said. "It's a conspiracy! A conspiracy to destroy me! A plan devised by aliens I tell ya! There's no stopping them!. They can even hear the voices inside my head! See? Their Godfather's Pizza spacecraft is just out of reach of our means of detection! They have got to be stopped!"
He needs to look no further than his own party!
"We have met the enemy and he is us!" Pogo by Walt Kelly
Tell me I wasn't the only one to notice the Super Fly pimp hat...
Nobody faced more oppo research than Obama - it doesn't get much worse than people questioning your birth certificate and Christianity - but the voters raised him from stage three to four because he addressed the issues the country is facing, and Obama made sense.
If Cain wants us to forgive his harrassment history he needs to explain how 999 is going to help rebuild the middle class, get us off oil, and improve public schools.
It also might help Mr. Cain if he knew a little something about the world, too. Someone should really whisper in his ear that China already has nuclear weapons, and have them for quite a few decades.
Hey, Amy -
You forgot about Stage 5 where President Obama and us libbies are concerned - you know, "worship"!
Unfortunately for the GOP next year, it looks like Stage 4 is going to be somewhere between "settle for", "hold your nose and vote", and "pray for a last-minute miracle".
"Nobody faced more oppo research than Obama"
Absurd lie. As pointed out by a poster yesterday, basic issues about Obama's past were never even mentioned or researched. (not talking about birther issues, but other basic issues). When the Rev Wright issue came up, the liberal media ignored it.
The liberal media annointed him, gave him a free pass and boot-licking coverage.
Kinda like what Obama gets 24/7 from MSNBC, a free pass.
Give it a rest Bob...your side raked Obama over the coals with BS issues like Wright, birth certificates etc...like your party would actually nominate a black man for the presidency...pulease
Rick:
You are out of your mind. Obama wasn't raked over the coals. McCain never went after him as hard as he should have. This is one of the reasons Mccain lost. Clinton didn't go after him and the media damn sure didn't.
BTW: How many years did it take for the Democrats to actually nominate a blackman for POTUS?
Colin Powell would have been the GOP nominee had he ran. Would you have raked him over the coals?
What universe were you in when the Rev Wright issue came up in 2008 Bob? Oh that's right you were in uninformed tea people universe.
Still crying about ancient history, I guess unless GOD himself said Obama was born in the USA these people will still believe otherwise ... LOL Cain is only there so the GOP can say see We are not racist what does Cain think that he would really be accepted as one of the good ole boys ..... Yea RIGHT
You tea baggers are beyond belief. I think your chocking on your own tea bags. Get them out of your mouth and take a breath!
InTheMuddle, Tx
Regarding Colin Powell... YES, he still deserves a good raking over the coals for his blatant lies to the UN and the world regarding Iraq's imaginary WMDs. He betrayed his country. He used his voice and credibility to enable the US to go to war using false pretenses, costing more than 100,000 lives and $Billions in resources.
His moment came, and he chose to be a cowardly shill for Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld. Nothing he could say or do will ever redeem him in the eyes of millions.
Why hasn't the mainstream media investigated allegations that Obama is the Anti-Christ?
The swiftboating of Obama was so severe, he was forced to ask the state of Hawaii to make an exception, and release the long form of his birth certificate to prove he was born in the U.S., which they did.
The fact is, Herman Cain was accused of sexual harassment by two women. It's not like he can release information that disputes that charge. His challenge is to make it irrelevant.
Bob, you didn't see what you wanted to see, therefore, the media is in bed with Obama. OOOOOOkay!!!!!
Juicy-668318
I'm a retired military man and I can tell you Colin Powell will always be respected by the people to whom it matters (servicemen/women).
I was referring to the decision to run for POTUS. Bush would not have won if Powell ran at the time so what you're talking about would be irrelevant.
Powell did what all good soldiers do, follow orders. You can continue to trot out Colonel Wilkerson on MSNBC to trash the administration but if Powell felt it was a bad decision he could have resigned. Someone else would have taken the job immediately and presented the same case.
BTW: Wilkerson was a piece of doo-doo when he served. That is why he was passed over for full bird 3 times. He never commanded any combat troops, always an administrator and get on MSNBC like he some kind of expert on ground tactics.
Gulf War vet here, and a left leaning independent who tends to vote Democratic - chiming in to say that Colin Powell is still very much respected. I'm disappointed about the UN thing, and more upset with the administration that he and his credibility was badly used than anything else.
He's still one of my heroes. I'd have (and would) vote for him. Unfortunately he has enough sense to stay out of our current tone of "American Idol" politics.
Inthemiddle: There's a difference between "following orders" and being a leader. Powell very rightly said he regretted his decision to put his credibility on the line on what turned out to be a lie. Of course he did what all good soldiers do....but in doing so, he set aside any aspiration he had of the Presidency. And not for one moment would i agree with your assertion that Powell would have won had he challenged Bush. Yes the Republican party was more moderate then, but even then, he was seen as far too liberal for the party.
AP - he was also too black. The country was not ready at that point for a black man to run for President. I wish he had run but I totally understand why he didn't. He is a fine man and would have been a much better leader than Bush. Too bad for the US.
You can say that again! Powell is probably the only Republican that I would consider voting for.
Those factions are you Mr. Cain.
Does anyone else but me think that the National Restaurant Association wishes this whole mess would go away? I bet some folks on the board there are not happy with all this bad publicity.
Are you kidding? How many people outside the industry KNEW there was a Restaurant Association?
Shades of Richard Nixon.
Just another Republican with baggage he is trying to hide.
Let me make it real easy for you Mr. Cain, because it ain't brain surgery. If you screwed up, you have destroyed yourself; nobody else can destroy you my friend. Your damage has been self-inflicted. And it's beginning to look like you have had many screw ups along the way to your delusional dream of becoming president. Besides, I thought "personal responsibility" was one of the ethical and moral hallmarks of you and your party??? Are you now saying that ain't true either???
Amy B. Portland, ME
Nobody faced more oppo research than Obama - it doesn't get much worse than people questioning your birth certificate and Christianity...
Really?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Tom Eagleton and his commitment to a mental hospital...Kitty Dukakis drinking STERNO, Gary Hart and DONNA RICE, Newt and his INTERN and dumping his cancer-stricken wife? Mitt and the dog strapped to his car roof, oh and they MAY have mentioned Mitt's religion too...off the top of my head.
Really, questioning the president's RELIGION qualifies as "oppo research"?
There are many who feel that the "vetting" of this President began only AFTER his election...
One thing is true; when you run for national office you should EXPECT everything that you have ever done or tried to conceal to EVENTUALLY come to light.
And it DOES get much worse than questioning someone's birth certificate...seriously, how HARD an allegation is that to refute? While it took the President YEARS to do so, all he had to do was produce the darn thing, and he FINALLY did, didn't he? The President certainly had as much of a role in that "controversy" as anyone...
Not to mention: George Bush Nat'l Guard papers, George Bush cocaine usage, George Bush alcohol usage, etc......
Obama wasn't vetted. Obama was chose by the media and they were going to do everything to get the man in office.
I guarantee the NYT or WaPo will pay those ladies to come out and tell a story.
Yes, it's only despicable when it's against one of MY guys...The double standard exhibited every time a situation like this arises is a metaphor for this blog...

My Grandmother used to say, "Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.."
Oh of all the ridiculous things to whine about...insisting the media is "protecting" obama? Rush is that you??
But i tell you mr grover & the gop know the destroy game well. They know politics and play that game well with the limbo & the sleazy characters like rove. But look at what is left of the gop. I tell you it is why cain, ceo of godfather's pizza, rose to the top soooo fast.
Ya the "factions" are the Republican Party ! Romney in 2012 !!
rule of nine
Ya the "factions" are the Republican Party ! Romney in 2012 !!
Since Romney friends are corporations that is not likely to happen. Corporations don't vote.
What? Corporations don't vote? Aren't they people too?
LMAO
Mr. Cain needs to understand that as a Republican he is supposed to be all about "personal responsibility". While he may not have been guilty of sexual harassment, and may not have had control, of the process back, in the 90s, when he was charged; he certainly has been or should have been in control of his response, NOW. He knew that these charges were going to come out 10DAYS before Politico published them. His response has been pathetic; if this is the best he can do, he is certainly not ready to be president. I have no interest in destroying anyone personally, but I certainly do hope we destroy any chances, of him implementing his 999 plan as president.
Mr. Cain, are you aware of the old saying "we have met the enemy and he is us"?
Herman is correct in that folks are out to get him. All voters with a moderate level of intelligence are trying to remove him because he is another pumped up phony but then again he'd fit perfect in our current politicians makeup. Gimme a break Herman, you're another jack ass and have now been called out on who you really are.
Amanda: "I'll be the victim!"
Wednesday: "...all your life."
Oh, I just love watching these TeaPublicans fall one right after the other! In the meantime, jobs are coming back, the auto industry is getting stronger, the market is doing well, the Iraq war is coming to an end...OBAMA 2012
Yes, there are factions trying to destroy you, Mr. Cain, and they're in your party. You sleep with dogs and you're going to get fleas.
The Gandhi quote(with a little change up) is a new example of RW's shameless, soulless tactic of projection. Every time a point is directed at the sheeple, the repugnicrites, the 400 families, or the rw in general you can see it projected back within a week. And just like my husband...it becomes their own idea in their mind.
OWS supports (including me) have quoted it many times.....
"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."
Now the victim card is being played this Presidential wannabe. Sorry, Mr. Vain.....we don't need a victim in the White House.
How dramatic! Talk about an exaggerated sense of self-importance.
Herman Cain,
Welcome to politics, stop crying and grow a pair.
As Betty White said
"Why would anyone want to grow a pair? They are tender and sensitive! Now a Vagina can take a pounding...
LOL!!
d
If Cain becomes the Republican nominee (he won't, of course) and Obama is the Democrat nominee (he will, of course), Obama would win hands down. The south would go for Obama because 3/4 of the Republicans wouldn't vote for either one. The same is true across the country! Karl Rove knows all this and so does the leadership behind the Republican Party. They will go to almost any lengths to prevent Cain from winning the nomination because they know the GOP is finished should he become the nominee. Only a fool thinks otherwise!
If it is Cain and Obama would't you like to be in a voting booth in Mississippi when the white voter is given the choice of two blacks for president !! I would pay to see it!
rule: hahahahaha Yes! I would! hahahaha Actually, I'm serious in my post #24. Any experienced political observes knows what I said is correct. A candidate does not have to win every vote in any given state. He or she only needs to win by a simple majority or 51%. If Herman Cain would become the Republican nominee, and there is just no chance of that, then the southern racists would not vote for either Obama or Cain. Obama would win every southern state and likely most every other state as well. That is a risk for too great for Karl Rove and his ilk! They can't say anything publicly, but behind the scenes they know their only hope in the election is to bring out the racists to vote for their candidate. Richard Nixon's 1968 "Southern Strategy" worked and has worked for the Republicans since that time. Yes, there are Democrats in the south who are racists, but most have moved to the Republican Party since 1968. Karl Rove, the Prince of Darkness, will NEVER allow Cain to become the Republican nominee because Obama would win hands down across the country.
"I'm the victim not the women I mistreated." Much like Rubio last week, Cain this week is making money off the "good 'ol boys" club off of not one but two women's misery. Do Republicans feel more manly beating up on victims or women's vaginas or our right to be paid equally to men? Do the surveys and statistics published all the time teach you nothing about pigs like Herman Cain? They not only harass but they harass habitually. And because no one ever values a woman, we are paid off and lose our jobs rather than terminating the culprit. And you still want to claim innocent until proven guilty but I'll pay you to keep quiet so another horrific character for a man doesn't get publicly convicted of anything.
Kind of amazing that strategy has carried them this far, isn't it? I mean how masochistic do you have to be these days to be a woman in the Republican party? They don't even bother to hide it any more (just what do you think "take our country back" means to women who just got the right to sign their own contracts, use birth control, and seek a safe, legal abortion all within the last 30 years?)
