Subscribe to RSSNBC News has confirmed that one woman received a settlement from the National Restaurant Association after complaining about inappropriate sexual conduct by Herman Cain.
NBC News is not disclosing the name of the woman nor characterizing who she is.
Cain denied the allegations, saying on FOX this morning he was "falsely accused." "I have never sexually harassed anyone, anyone," he said, "and absolutely, these are false accusations."
Despite being the chief executive officer of the National Restaurant Association, he said he was unaware of any settlement with the accusers, though he didn't deny it.
"If the restaurant association did a settlement, I wasn't even aware of it," he claimed, "and I hope it wasn't for much. If there was a settlement, it was handled by some of the other officers at the restaurant association."

I didn't see any documentation to prove the claim. Anyone see any proof? A canceled check? Anything?

How convenient that the victims are not allowed to speak.
I think that they signed an agreement that they would not talk about the incident. They agreed to
this so they could pick up that check. They were paid not to talk about it. If this is true, then I would
like to know how someone found out about it in the first place? Weird.
Alot of people would have known. From lawyers to secretaries, to file clerks to governmental agencies etc.
Herman forgot. He is still trying to remember how this revelation will affect his speaking fees.

If there is any substantial truth in it, No women settles for 5 figure amount. It will be lot more, afteall he is Chairman of NRA at that time.
Big doubt I had is, why only after he became the leading candidate, this story based on very little information brought to the front?? I think someone is scared of Cain winning nomination.
Democrats would love Herman Cain to win the nomination, but I agree that Fox News and the Republican Party fear it. He can't beat President Obama. No chance at all.

I agree the republican establishment doesn't like cain or any other tea party candidate that's why they support romney. If it is found out that any republican was involved in this smear campaign they're done in politics. The tea party will make sure of it!

He was accused of harassment and took the easy way out, by setting up a fund for his victims. Not exactly a top tier candidate for presidency.
The question now is who leaked this information? Right wing people better brace themselves before barking at the liberal media. Maybe someone in the GOP candidacy is playing dirty. For instance you have Rick Perry digging up stories of Romney hiring illegals. Perry is known to play dirty and dehumanize his opponents. Maybe it was him that tipped off Politico for this story.
He probably just told the National Restaurant Association, "It was a joke. It was just a joke. You people need to lighten up!".
The REAL joke is that this Koch brothers funded motivational speaker is the "best" the GOPTB have to offer.

Anyone who really believed Cain was or is anything other than someone that was not Romney is a fool. The republicans have a real problem. They just can't find someone they can get behind that would actually have a chance of winning. The party has gone too far to the right and smart republicans like maybe Jeb Bush are just conceeding 2012 to the Dems and waiting for 2016. Cain should have talked to a lawyer first. Cain didn't have to know the results of the case because the company was charged in the lawsuit because Herb was an employee. The company did the right thing in not going to trial after seeing they had no defense in what Herman had done. Once a settlement was done it sealed guilt. Now this action at this time is like a Karl Rove plan as Karl did to push McCain out of the campaign. O'Reilly charged with Fox paying the victim, Isiah Thomas charged Madison Square Garden paid the settlement of 5 million. Cain never had to pay nor be involved except for his testimony. Cain would have known everything if the case had gone to trial and he would have to testify on the stand.
I would be willing to wager serious money that if it ever comes out on who steered Politico in the right direction on this story it will turn out to be some big money backers or backers on the Right who knew of this (or were maybe told about it...) or possibly one of the other candidates campaigns. Perry's campaign would be a very good bet (this fits their M.O. and they have the most to gain).
You Tea Baggers can cry foul all you want but the Dems WANT Cain or Perry as the nominee (they really,really,really want Bachman actually and are probably loving seeing Newt's rise in the polls lately,but both of those are too long a shot as to be remotely viable at this point...).
If the unemployment rate stays at or near 9% come next late summer and fall then Romney would have a chance against Obama. But if Cain or Perry gets the nod,forget about it.
Though I still say that there is a definite chance of the Tea Baggers running a protest candidate if Romney wins the nomination and he keeps pissing them off the way he's doing.
