Subscribe to RSSCARROLL, Iowa -- Ron Paul outlined what he believed was the difference between “Occupy Wall Street” and the “Tea Party.”
“Some are demonstrating, because they’re scared to death they won’t get their handouts,” Paul said yesterday. “And the other half are demonstrating, because they’re sick and tired of paying for it. I’m on the side of sick and tired of paying for it.”
Paul's popularity has risen since 2008 largely because of the Tea Party. He doesn't lead in polling in any state, but he is routinely in the top three in states like Iowa and New Hampshire.

If Paul were unemployed for a year maybe he would be ready for a handout. OWS are not happy citizens for a reason.
What amazes me is the number of people that vote for a party that very clearly does not have their best interest at heart.
Please don't believe this media slander. Ron Paul is a true statesmen. I'm a liberal and I supported Obama in 08' but after thoroughly researching Ron Paul there is no other man worth voting for.
Ron Paul > Barack Obama > Charlie Sheen > other GOP candidates.

Do you really think MSNBC is going to be unbiased when NBC is owned by General Electric and the CEO of General Electric, Jeffrey Immelt, is the chairman of Obama's economic council? I doubt it, GE would love to go four more years paying no taxes.

Ron Paul's views are very much radicalized by majority of a mainstream media outlets. Ron Paul is the only GOP candidate that empathizes with the OWS movement. He is the only candidate boldly speaking out against the Federal Reserve System that enslaves us all with debt and ensures the power elite control the money supply.
Do your own research, don't believe the media slander. I don't agree with all of Paul's views but at least he is honest and not controlled by the special interests.
Ron Paul clearly wants the tea party votes! many things they are protesting he is saying himself, to make this radical comment, with people from all over the country, supporting this protest, is laughable, it was clear and precise, he could have just said I want the tea parties vote to win the primary!!! or hey look at me tea party I will do anything to win your vote, without question!!!
Ron Paul has had the same positions a few decades before the Tea Party came into existence, therefore, this out-of-context comment and your own comment is completely asinine.
This isn't just an election, this is the last chance to save freedom for the world.

We are tired of protesting. Our leaders are clueless. Poo In Hair is stoned. Bongo Drummer is arrested. The stoned men have all got the munchies. It is the young Occupiers who say yes or no. He who led the young people is lost.
It is cold and we have no blankets. The Occupiers are dirty and freezing cold. Our people, some of them, have run away to the bars but they have no money, no food. Politicians are another class of people who get handouts, but they don't need them and they decide how big they are.

There they go again! Side tracking the real issue that the Occupy Wall Street have brought to the forefront. The current Congress has not legislated jobs as they said they would in 2010. It's not about handouts or freebies, it about the inequities and greed that permeates the Wall Street CEO's and CFO's. The bottom line is Congress has made it easier for jobs to go overseas rather than stay here.
And once again most people posting on here show a lack of an 8th grade understanding of economics. If any of you understood economics you'd understand Ron Paul's policies are for all people. They will ultimately be more beneficial then the democrat and republican policies combined (including your precious Obama's policies that will bankrupt the country) Democrats and Republicans alike are both bought out by the corporations and to say otherwise would be show your true ignorance. This is all pretty asinine coming from an opperator of a fake populist party crafted by Dick Armey and the Koch brothers to thrwart any opposition to the corruption and oligarchy that has destroyed our Country.
OWS is the exact opposite of the tea party because the tea party is self-interested advocy crafted to keep the fraudulent status quo in place while shirting the blame on Mexican's, alleged socialists and alleged communists-- which is how they will characterize anyone who wants to stop the massive frauds of our times.
I posit that the tea party was crafted much like Murdoch runs Fox news-- to run intererance for criminals so they looting of a Nation will continue. No, OWS is the exact opposite, it is a real populist movement, and our Country's only hope.
Please review the recent expose on SEC corruption by Matt Taibbi and ask yourself why neither party is fixing any of the wanton frauds that are destroying us... both parties are owned and controlled by the same folks, who also control the tea party. This is all corruption and fraud and a big fat dog and pony show crafted to keep the looting going.

I would like to speak for a moment about this "living wage" thing. I am one of those working class Americans living under the poverty line. I support a wife and a child. It’s hard sometimes, and it would be even harder if I didn't have the support of my church and God. I will say this however, my obligations get met. I pay my rent, I put food on my table, and all my bills get paid. We even save a tiny bit, and from time to time can afford some pleasantries.
I do admit, however, that this would probably not be possible but by the grace of God. I hold to my faith which teaches me that it is better to be poor in the hands of Jesus then wealthy without Him.
In the end I support the constitutional right to protest, but as for me, I don't see the point. No matter what happens in this world, I am secure in God’s hands. No matter how bad things get I know I am secure. That’s all I had to say. God bless.
