Spanky there you go again off topic just to raise a cloud of stink, I read the article and it sounds just like all the other cities, county and state governments wheather run by RED team or Blue Team none were prepaired for a recession of this size or length. I am sure this writer has a Red tint to him as well just by the tone of the article. What I find more interestiing is the Republican do not seem happy with Mitty or your new leader Cain, so you are still looking under rocks for the next moron to appear and save the day. If anyone is desperate here it is team red with no one to lead them.
Well, Spanky, I started to skim the article on Delaware but the phrases "blue state" and "ponzi scheme" alerted me to the ideological bias contained there-in, so I didn't take it too seriously.
now let's look at the median hourly wage of "Reddest Red State" Texas. In Maine, which is a very poor state, as well as somewhat conservative, it's $15.28. In "Team Blue" Delaware it's $17.26. But ole' Red State Texas, has a median hourly wage of $15.14! That's what having a right-wing government brings you: poverty.
Amy - by now you really ought to get used to, no, comfortable with the term "ponzi" scheme.
Average wages are neat, but all those retirees that relied on team blue in RI are doomed.
Just like they are in Cali, and Ill. Funny part is Cuomo is running NY like a red state, and we all know what Christie is doing.

You would think republicans would watch and learn something from a community organizer, and pass a jobs bill, they won't, and they will lose, the tide has turned, and people don't blame Obama's leadership anymore, republicans took that away fro themselves with unanimous votes to kill without debate what people are protesting for, maybe if they lay off some more government employees, they will make some gains. BTW Obama had a ten point swing to the good, so whatever you think of what he is doing, it is working way better for him than what the republicans are selling. You better get used to the idea of him being your president for another term.
Marc, I've said a better candidate can come from the Democrats as well. We just need to break the cycle of voting for the best of the worst. Poor leadership is not party specific. I'm just thankful the Tea Party was able halt the insanity for the last 2 years of Obama.

Same as that 'bikini' chart, showing unemployment, and that graph that shows income gap becoming ever wider between the 1 %ers and everyone else.
Come on, DNC- let's see some of those campaign dollars go toward runnig these as full-page ads, and as TV spots. Do that, and no amount of spin from the Koch-supported 'foundations' or 'PACS' will stick worth a damn.

New Hampshire has not produced the eventual winner each cycle, either. And I don't see how NH can be taken seriously in 2012 if Mitt wins - as everyone thinks he will. He leads now with a staggering 44% of the vote!! Herman Cain is his closest rival in NH at 12%! That is certainly in stark contrast to every other state. No other state has polls with Mitt out of the 20 to 25% range! He is a "favorite son" in NH.
The only state that can lay claim to the distinction of voting for the eventual GOP nominee is South Carolina which has voted for the eventual GOP nominee EVERY time since 1980!

Ok so who is in charge of the Republican carnage party. Here it is almost November and they are still looking for a candidate that can win. How many front runners have we had now 4, its like watching a game show, I will take Romney for 500 please, I will take Cain for 200. Its time to get off the merry-go-round and throw a dart at the donkey to see if you can hit the a$$ and pick a runner up winner. Talk about leadership or lack thereof. None for this disfunctional family feud.
Can someone else emerge in Iowa? Rick Perry went pheasant hunting with Steve King and told voters at a fundraising dinner on a century farm in eastern Iowa that he was "exercising his 2nd amendment rights" that morning. One Iowan said he had never heard Perry speak before and was impressed. You never know what will float some of these republicans' boats.
Jody- shame on me, but for a while there, I was hoping Santorum was a crack shot like Dick Cheney was.
That's the only reason one Iowan was impressed.
The Romulian Bird Of Prey will be landing in Iowa, and "Romulian Romney" will be spewing his never ending messages of nothing to offer. "Romulian Romney" is so alien to 99% of Americans that anything he says can not be trusted at all.
well all the Iowans I know think the whole gop bunch are a joke and a half. personally I would maybe have been impressed and less insulted if he hand milked a cow (assuming he can tell the difference between a bull and a heifer) And just for the record us Iowans are not as stupid as the gop thinks!
