Spending outpaces receipts for Bachmann in third quarter

DES MOINES, Iowa—According to Federal Election Commission filings, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's two campaign arms raised a total of almost $4.1 million during the third quarter fundraising period.

FEC filings posted Saturday found that Bachmann's spending outpaced her earnings between the beginning of July and the end of September. Her two authorized committees — Bachmann for President and MicheleBachmann.com — spent over $6.2 million during the quarter,

Bachmann for President raised $3.9 million during the quarter, spent $5.9 million, and has above $1.3 million in cash on hand as of the end of September.

MicheleBachmann.com raised about $200,000, spent roughly $260,000, and has just over $200,000 in cash on hand.

Bachmann's spending outpaced her earnings, records show. In part because of that spending, her primary campaign committee carries about $550,000 in debt.

According to Bachmann's campaign, Bachmann had received 97,000 contributions from over 70,000 individuals, with an average contribution of $42.

"We are especially proud of the fact that we continue to bring in large numbers of small donors who contribute time after time," campaign manager Keith Nahigian said in a statement. "We are grateful to each and every donor who has helped us gather the necessary resources to continue reaching out to the people of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and the rest of the country."

Bachmann has staked her campaign on a message of everyman frugality—attacking the federal government for its deficit, and insisting Iowan families would know better than to spend beyond their incomes.

During an event in Des Moines earlier this month, Bachmann told reporters, "This is how I intend to run the country. In a way that I grew up understanding here in Iowa, we were frugal, we were prudent, and we never spent more money than what we took in."

She can't manage her finances in the campaign, but she wants to run the country? Just like GWB, she'll pull out the credit card, leave us with the bill and cut our education and services to pay for it...

The Tea Party darling spent more than she took in! You can't run a campaign like a country, or is it run a country like a campaign, you are very fiscally irresponsible, I'm very disappointed Michele.

She's not what one would call fiscally conservative, is she? My, my, I'd like to hear her take on this reckless spending, no wonder Ed Rollins left for health reasons, she was giving him more than heartburn over these numbers,

"Bitchy Bachmann" is not only financially broke. Old "Bitchy" is intellectually broke. She runs her campaign into mass debt, and mass mental confusion of the facts presented to her. Imagine how "Bitchy Bachmann" would run our whole economy into debt and ruin. The poltical puking of old "Bitchy Bachmann" have been just scary intellectually to watch. Her mental illness over the "Bonehead Birther's" was just a real joke. Then this GOP Clown went on the "Bitchy Bachmann Bus Tour." Others would call it the "Special" Blue Bus Tour. Spreading Cognitive Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities, and social intolerance across the nation. Are you hearing the Circus Music yet America?? The whole GOP/RNC killed the President's Jobs Bill. With only on senseless goal in mind my fellow citizens. To politically and economically destroying our Presient. This is the same as destroying our Democracy. That is fact! Are you getting ready to vote yet America?? The GOP/RNC are only hoping that the very rich vote in 2012, and that the rest of the masses just stay home.

"This is how I intend to run the country". She is and forever will be a joke. Before her public presidential aspirations she was known to me as the moron who was basically trying to bring back McCarthyism and require Democrats to take a pledge, one that she would no doubt create, because she questioned their patriotism.

She is fortunate to have come along at an opportune time in the Republican party. It is unfortunate for the country that there is anyone as crazed as you have to be to support her, and that they have taken over the Republican party. I was hoping for an alternative to Mr. Obama. Look what the nutcases have brought forward. Rick Perry? My God, he's dumb as a bag of rocks and radical beyond description. Give me this kind of choice and I'll reluctantly cast my ballot for Obama.

No one bright enough to comprehend the mess Bush left us in would want to step into the president's shoes. Reasonable candidates will show up in 2016 after Obama has cleaned up the mess, not before.

Fiscal responsibility.

Maybe she can get another farm loan, back-pay for more foster kids, or another government subsidy for the clinic (the pray away gay clinic).

It didn't work for her Dennis now did it.

Yeah, and these gems too:

"The check's in the mail".....and....
"I'll respect you in the morning"

Michelle is just rehearsing for the same "deficit-and-spend" republikan policies that have put this country's finances where they are today. As such we are the envy of the world.

lets just hope it does not involve playboy(shutters) though she could do like she has always done collect government money and free aid as a foster parent while she is making a good wage in the senate which scares Me thinking of her there. though if you ask her the free intitlements she would get as a foster mother and the free health care for her and her family for the rest of there life is not the same as what other people on welfare and medicare/medicaid are not the same thing. atleast in her eyes they are not but then she is set for life. ah the nice big government pension and knowing her type she will get SSI she will not be to bad off.

BACHMANN SHUTTERING CAMPAIGN OFFICES IN ANTICIPATION OF HURRICANE AS GOD'S PUNISHMENT FOR RUNNING CAMPAIGN DEFICIT

The St. Petersburg Times' reports that the presidential candidate told a Sarasota, Fla. crowd this weekend, "I don't know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We've had an earthquake; we've had a hurricane. He said, 'Are you going to start listening to me here? ...we've got to rein in the spending."

I had a college professor that once told me, "No matter what you believe, you can probably find at least a million people to go along with you."

Now, if I could just figure out a way to have each of them send me 5 dollars...

Michelle will do as she has always done rely on the very Federal Government she decries. Farm loans, Fannie and Freddie, her very salary wether as an IRS lawyer or a Representative she has used all of this and more as her monetary source only to rail against them. I have been praying that she goes away and damn it works?
