Forget Volts and that bonehead 'lawyer' from the left coast- here's what I want to know:

Suppose the barkeep at DDI will let us use the big-screen Tee Vee, so I can bring in some taped ‘time-trials’ of the Great Cheerio Go Kart race preparations of the last few weeks (A.K.A.- the Republican ‘debates’)?

Heck, no Don't carry - I love Natural gas. Not an alternative energy, not subsidized, not Solyndra.

Plus I'm eye-ing the new GM Spark, all electric. They ought to be abole to sell like five of those when it comes out, right?

So Say, gang - can any of you libbies explain why Obama is sending US troops to Uganda?

What US National interest is he protecting there?

Man, he really is the Cowboy in Chief.

Oh and fear not Feisty, Ms Spanky was working late last night so me and the boys went to the mighty OG [Olive Garden]. Took a tour of Italy myself.

Very tasty. But much better to eat in, and put the money saved towards retirement.

Well, at least you all got Soc. Security. At least until it implodes, cause after all Obama can't even guarantee he has the cash to wrote the checks.

What's up with our Cowboy in Chief?

No doubt, the DDI bar keep can arrange that.

Having lived in San Diego for years, still find it odd that of all the great restaurants there, Spanky picks a franchise--not saying they don't have good food but that's kind of like picking McDonalds over Old Town's Hamburgesa (sp).

You.cannot.make.this.stuff.up.

Pendleton, South Carolina (CNN) – Rick Perry's wife Anita said Friday that she could sympathize with the plight of the unemployed because her son was forced to resign his job to take a more active role on his father's presidential campaign.

Anita Perry blamed the Obama administration for her son having to resign his position.

"My son had to resign his job because of federal regulations that Washington has put on us," Mrs. Perry said while campaigning for her husband in South Carolina, after a voter shared the story of losing his job.

"He resigned his job two weeks ago because he can't go out and campaign with his father because of SEC regulations," she continued, referring to the Securities and Exchange Commission. "He has a wife... he's trying to start a business. So I can empathize."

"My son lost his job because of this administration," she said a few minutes later.

According to press reports, the Perrys' son, Griffin, worked at Deutsche Bank.

It was unclear what SEC regulations Perry was referring to, but the commission adopted a new rule last year aimed at limiting political activity on the part of investment advisors.

Why gosh Drive By I thought you were the barkeep at the DDI?

You should all get together and watch the debates, if that's how you wish to spend your time.

Me, I need to pull out the quads and dirt bikes and get them ready. Desert season is coming. Get the Motor home prepped. I love desert season. :)

Plus the stupid serpentine belt on the CLK 430 broke, so I need to replace that.

But two things fellas - one, does anyone not like Bloomin' onions? and two, if they are all clowns and idiots, why isn't Obama running away with this little shebang?

Fact last polls I saw puts him behind the generic, and Romney, so that kinda isn't saying too much about Obama.

Unless maybe they are not all clowns?

huh?

Many excellent restaurants, but most in downtown area. I live in the burbs.

Plus I love the chains - Outback, Claim Jumpers, OG. I also love McDonald's, especially the dollar menu, but the best food on the planet are jack in the box tacos, 2 of $.99.

So Drive By do you feel all the love towards me too? All these people talking and thing of me. ME Drive By.

And Drive By nobody is as bad a typist and speller than I, but when you are bagging on people at least try to be extra careful. Or tell us what a "reblel" is.

I've been out all day- come home, read Spanky's post- go looking, and find this

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1011/65989.html

Why are we sending troops to Uganda?

Anybody?

Oh- and I ALSO learned that, in today's hearings, it was revealed that the Treasury department insisted that the Energy department seek advice from the Justice department regarding restructuring the Solyndra loans. That restructure paid off Kaiser first, and left the taxpayers holding the bag. It violates the Energy law passed in 2005.

Well, it seems the Energy department never did that little thing. Instead, they wrote a memo, defending their right to do what the heck they pleased.

So there.

I also watched a video of Obama talking about Fast and Furious- a video made BEFORE Holder claims he knew the least little thing about it. Hmmm. Is Holder throwing Obama under the bus?

So many scandals. So many abrogations of the law.

So little coverage on Firat Read.

Why is that, exactly?

Pat, Boston. I missed that Anita Perry comment about blaming the Obama administration for their son having to resign. The son had a choice, keep his much needed job to support his family or campaign. I briefly caught the end of a discussion this morning on MSNBC where Mrs. Perry had been told by the campaign to tone down the "they're picking on us" stuff.

MB- Obama fire on Obamavilles? Not hardly. He prefers to send troops to Africa. Who knows why.

Bloomberg wussed out on cleaning the place up- seems the Obamaville residents LIKE the stench they've created. Small businesses down there have seen a 40% drop in business; the stench is beyond belief- but Bloomberg is too chicken to deal with it.

I suppose when the cholera starts taking people out, finally he'll do something.

Wałęsa has announced that he will be joining the protests in New York city in person:

Solidarity hero Lech Walesa [sic] is flying to New York to show his support for the Occupy Wall Street protesters. “How could I not respond,” Walesa told a Polish newspaper Wednesday. “The thousands of people gathered near Wall Street are worried about the fate of their future, the fate of their country. THINK PROGRESS (con't)

Wałęsa was instrumental in organizing the Solidarity union that helped mobilize to overthrow the Soviet Union’s control over Poland. In 1983 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. None other than President Ronald Reagan — no left-wing, anti-capitalist activist — responded by praising Wałęsa’s leadership, saying he was “one of the world’s greatest labor leaders”:

REAGAN: I’d like to take a moment this afternoon to send a moment of congratulation to one of the world’s greatest labor leaders, Lech Wałęsa. [...] This award demonstrates that the world will always remember and will honor the commitment to freedom and the committement to free trade unions that Lech Wałęsa and millions of brave Polish people share.

The ad also includes lots of shots of surfing, grey hair guy with kids on a baseball field...

Feeling a mite peaked today so you’ll are going to have to start the party at the Dew Drop Inn without me. Might slide on over to the Comeback Inn and lay up and test out the chandeliers and see if I can’t adjust my attitude on Life, Love and the Pursuit of Happiness a little.

Leave us not forget that the much awaited and anticipated dedication of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial is this weekend. While Dr. King was a giant in the cause of Civil Rights in our country he also fought tirelessly for Economic Justice. He was when he was taken away from us in Memphis to lend his support for Sanitation Workers.

A nation or civilization that continues to produce soft-minded men purchases its own spiritual death on the installment plan.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Philanthropy is commendable, but it must not cause the philanthropist to overlook the circumstances of economic injustice which make philanthropy necessary.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: "If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?" But... the good Samaritan reversed the question: "If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?"
Martin Luther King, Jr.

As always my thanks and appreciation to our hosts for their time, giving me a little place to stand, a subject to comment on, a forum to put it in, and their indulgence when I don’t quite get it right or get a little off subject. I purely do appreciate it. Hope you’ll have a fine weekend and good fun among folks that you know and love. To my fellow participants keep well, keep safe, and keep the faith. We’ll make it. See you’ll next week

I was wondering today what Martin Luther King, Jr. would make of a man like Herman Cain. He seems like he was an optimistic man so I'll suppose he would be happy for his success and leave it at that.

I was thinking "Love Potion #9" for Mr. Cain because anyone who isn't a millionnaire would vote for his 999 plan would have to be on something.

Hey, Feisty, IR, and all! Too nice a day to stay inside and listen to the Republican crazies. I went outside to play! And it was a lovely ride with neighbors, thank you very much. What oh what have we learned this week? Well, Herman Cain, who wants the best advice he can get apparently took his 999 tax code from Sim City. GOOD, Herman! Those games do come in handy don't they? Michelle Bachmann, always a source of amusement, said she wants taxes to go back to what they were in Reagan's time! Which means, I guess, that dear Ms. Bachmann wants to raise your taxes! She wants to make law that requires that a woman must look at her fetus in utereo before she is allowed to undergo abortion. An invasive procedure no less, and makes suspect Michelle's demand to get the Federal government off our backs. Michelle, the bats have called.....they want their sh** back! In other words, no end of amusement from the right wing, and no end of hypocrisy either.

What can you say about the patience of our hosts, but thank you? To say that you make this blog the place to go to for interesting reading is an understatement!

Any word on whether or not the weeper of the house made it to the State Dinner?

Time to head over to the Dew Drop Inn where the beer is always cold and the laughter never stops! ;o)

And I forgot to mention this week how adorable the little girl executing her jumping jacks next to the First Lady on the White House lawn looked in the clip I saw. When you see that child's expression of pride and excitement, you know why we support the Obamas.

You all check out CBS?

Oh My - looks like it wasn't enough for our government to merely supply semi auto AK and other guns to the Cartels.

Nope we were running Grenades. And guess what is a weapon of choice for the cartels these days?

Can this get any worse?

I just hope out troops that are going into Uganda are as well armed.

I'm certain Holder made sure they were serial numbered, you know for tracking purposes. Oh, wait, . . . .

Feisty, nice wrap up, which I second. Thank you Mark, Domenico and Co. you are the best.

I, too forgot to mention about how beautiful our First Lady looked last night, certainly a vision of loveliness in that stunning dress.

IR....please be well soon.

I would add to:

Time to head over to the Dew Drop Inn where the beer is always cold and the laughter never stops! ;o) and friends are gold.

I hope the Bears are successful.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Well of COURSE the right is going to criticize sending military advisors to Uganda.

After all, the right have been complaining for months about no U.S. interest in the disaster in Uganda. And now that the U.S. is doing something, the right are going to complain about that.

Complain, complain. But not about jobs or the deficit. No, they complain about Uganda, and too many women's rights, and voting requirements.

Shameful.

Grenades...

Really?

No rebuttal at all, First Readers?

I guess that means that Holder has to go.

Unless there's a rebuttal...

Honestly...

The Obama Justice Department was giving grenades to the Mexican drug cartels?

Anyone?

So, while First Read focused on Romney/Cain/Perry et al, this was happening:

A White House announcement said the troops will be combat-equipped but are not to engage in combat except in self-defense. It said they will aid in removing LRA leader Joseph Kony "from the battlefield."

The administration and human rights groups have charged the LRA with seizing children to bolster its ranks of soldiers, and sometimes forcing them to become sex slaves.

This is it for me, but:

So Iran hires a Mexican Cartel to kill someone and that horrible and terrible and a big deal is made.

The ATF arms several Drug Cartels, guns and grenades and at least one American is dead, and thousands of Mexicans also, and that's ok, just peachy, "atta boy" Holder?

Really? Iran gave the cartel $100,000. WE gave them millions in munitions that were used to kill.

You all see now why Holder and a whole bunch of others have to 1. resign/get fired immediately, and 2. face prosecution?

Felony Murder rule. Look it up. I am not a criminal lawyer, but I do recall that one from law school. Oh and Holder and Obama had the same books.

Occupy Iowa will be in Des Moines and Iowa City this weekend; possibly the Quad Cities, too. The Des Moines group received a permit to camp overnight for 3 days on Capitol grounds; considering last week they were pepper sprayed and arrested, that's progress.

Wow, must be the end of a long week. The above didn't sound like the usual political banter - more like a dysfunctional family reunion.

Spanky - chain restaurants blow (but my kid likes 'em, so what are you gonna do).

Feisty - if you ever lose your affinity for da bears and want to know how to get your hands on a terrible towel, just let me know.

Amy - you really support the president because you like his kids?

Agreed - can't STAND them!

Have you ever read the book 'Eat This Not That'? Most educational

There's enough sodium and fat hidden in the crap they serve it should be mandatory an ambulance should be parked out front at all times!

The Uganda thing is to help knock out a really ugly guerilla leader. I don`t like it, but it makes more sense than invading Grenada, or putting more than 200 marines on target zero in Lebanon.

The "Gross Odd People" (GOP), and the "Really Not Competent" (RNC) are bringing their "Circus Of The Clowns" to Las Vegas. The GOP Elephants will be dancing in an endless circle at the Circus Circus Casino. These GOP Clowns are very unlucky for our nation's economy, and for our stagnant political process. The middle class, the working poor, the disabled, and the elderly are not invited to this GOP "Debate Of The Mummies." The Tea Begger "zombies" will be attending this traveling GOP Circus. The Party of NO! Are very lucky for the very wealthy, the Wall Street Bankers, and the large Corporations. The Koch Brothers are feeling very lucky today, and the large Oil Corporations are even in better economic shape. Yes America. The "Hoodlum's On The Hill" in the US House Of Representatives are feeling very lucky as well. They are continuing the "Racial War" against our President, and then trying to call it business as usual. Getting ready to vote yet America?? I hope so!!

Spanky,

I think the troops Obama sent to Uganda is to divert attention from his dismal economic performance.

Can't have the press harping about unemployment all day every day. Got to have a new libbie talking point, even if they have to manufacture one.

Off topic, we own two Polaris 500's. Went on a twenty mile ride in the forests of southern Utah. Got stopped by two downed trees across the trail. the first one we were able to drive around, but not the second. No way. I'm going to start carrying a limb saw in the tote box just for those trees.
