“President Barack Obama's campaign raised more than $70 million combined for his re-election and the Democratic party during the summer, an amount that gives him a clear advantage over his Republican rivals but is less than his initial fundraising effort,” AP reports, adding: “The numbers include $42.8 million for Obama's campaign and $27.3 million for the Democratic National Committee, which will help Obama's re-election effort next year.”
More: “Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in an e-mail to supporters that more than 600,000 people donated to the campaign in the most recent quarter, more than the previous three months. He said more than 980,000 people have given money to the campaign, and in the most recent quarter, 98 percent of the donors gave $250 or less, with an average donation of $56.”

Wow! Yes We Can! Let's keep up the great work, so we can reelect President Obama! Obama 2012!! Stand up to defeat hate!!
He had more donors than the previous 3 months, people are fed up with republicans single minded approach, the Waterloo strategy is back firing big time, and the fact that not a single republican voted for the jobs bill, sealed the deal. Tommy besides money, we need boots on the ground, work for it if you really want it, help people get properly registered in your district, call the local democratic committee and see if there is some volunteer work you can do. Start with your own family and friends. It is just not the presidency, we are looking to turn out republicans at every level of government, they picked this fight, and we are going to give them a good one.
I am already signed up with OFA, and I work every weekend to get new voters. My whole family is working hard with me to raise money and volunteer. We Are IN! Thanks Forrest!! We need good people like you!!
Signed up to work also but let's make sure we give him another Democratic congress so he can get his job done. This do nothing congress of Boehner's won't do us a bit of good if reelected. We have lots of work to do and need serious people to ger 'er done. Keep up the fight Wall street Occupiers!
Funny thing Forest,he made less this last three months than the previous,so More equals less? Guess that is Harvard Math also.
Obama's opening his Philadelphia campaign office today at 5pm. I'll be there!!!
Coincidence? I think not!
Hilarious Bill (#6.1), lol! You may have something there! The liberals are getting more and more desperate and depressed everytime a new poll comes out.
Power corrupts and we can see evidence of this administration's corruption every day in the newspapers and even the old liberal media!
Thank You Tommy!
For those of you that don't trust polls, look at the growing protests from coast to coast, is people in the street protesting republican policies tangible enough evidence for you.
Consider, too, that the REAL campaign season hasn't kicked in for real. Once the Repubes have their pick in place, the coin will roll in even faster.
The average donation may only be $56 per person, but there are a hell of a lot more 99%ers than there are 1%ers out here.
Amen to that! We must continue to fight and get the word out!!
Way to go Mr. President. Let's win it in 2012.
The tea people GOP republicans are getting the independents, Democrats and the rest of the country fired up and ready to go. The more the paid trolls keep posting on none conservative blogs, and the tea people GOP republicans keep voting no on every piece of legislation, the more fire up and ready to go we independents, Democrats and the rest of the country are against the tea people GOP republicans.
Let's see how the talking heads preaching gloom & doom for the president in 2012 will spin these fabulous numbers.
Isn't it amazing that given the current economy which we all agree is struggling mightily (because of all the years of the counter-productive trick down economics), and all the criticism heaped on the president in the republican primaries, still none of the GNOP contenders beats the president in a head to head. They should have at least 2 front runners beating the president by 10 points plus at this stage. This doesn't bode well for the GNOP. People have wised up to their silly games!
You wiil not see a Dem Congress for several years, thank Piglosi(Lets pass the the bill so we can see whats in it.) I am so proud of Reps that I think I might vote several times, just like a Democrat. Also, why are all Democratic women so unattractive? What happened, just sayin.
[(Lets pass the the bill so we can see whats in it.)]
Ok, now post the ENTIRE STATEMENT Pelosi is quoted as saying...
...we'll wait...
Talk about throwing money away on a lost cause!
OBAMA IS A WALKING SOLYNDRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coincidence? I think not!
Hey Mo are you smoking crack? I am an independant and would never vote for Stymie.
Wow,70 million in 3 months, when is he going to start his job as President and stop cqampaigning? Seems all he has done is campaign and fly Air Force one every where. Has any other President ever done so much traveling and taken so many vacations to so many places?
Two really interesting things about the 2012 presidential race are:
Obama's actual performance as president is actually much stronger than the perception. This will become more commonly known as we move closer to the November election.
The Republican field is incredibly weak. They have become almost literally a comedy skit. Whoever gets the nomination from among this crowd of losers will only do so after a long, very difficult fight that will come to a conclusion in front of a national audience in late August at the convention. It won't be pretty.
Unless the Republicans can find another way to totally scare the public (as they did with the absurd debt ceiling debate) the economy will get better by the election and we will have an Obama second term.
See thats where you are wrong, it does not matter who runs for Reps. Obama will lose to any Candidate. Another 4 yrs of this Muslim, and I emphasize Muslim.I just read where he wanted to apoligize for Hiroshima, what a joke this BOY is. There will not be any guilt not electing a black boy like last time.
Fast and Furious, and Solyndra are just getting traction....gonna be huge black eyes for "the most transparent administration ever".....Holder is toast, we're gonna find out what Obama knew as well.
Where's the monitors on here? Pony05 calling the president a boy. Real nice
Rick,
The monitors are already familiar with ponyboy, and he is due for another little vacation.
Thanks Mickey...Of course the repubs never condone racism and accuse Dems of what they actually do and say......
Forrest,
Check out occupywallst.org its not only republicans, its also democrats and Obama.
We need to stay true to ourselves and reject the entire current political establishment - I don't want Obama's endorsement and if we receive one because he thinks it will help him win - I suggest a march of those who wish to reject his endorsement. I do like Bernie Sanders though...
President Obama is an opportunist. Just like those on Wall Street. He got where he is the same way every President and CEO on Wall Street have, by stepping on whomever was in the way. He IS the establishment. An endorsement by him or anyone with similar power (like the CEO of a multi-national corporation) would be an affront to the main point: the establishment is broke and those in charge need to be recycled.
the prez is acting like a child, with his we have to pass this now crap over and over didnt we learn anything from pisalotsis pass it now,
