Chris Christie to endorse Romney

NBC News confirms that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will make a surprise appearance today and endorse GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney this afternoon in New Hampshire before tonight's debate.

Romney and Christie will be holding a joint press conference at 3:00 pm ET.

Christie announced last week that he would not be getting into the race, and at that time said he was waiting to endorse down the road. Christie and Romney have had a good relationship for many years, but it is a surprise that it is happening so quickly.

Ironically, the endorsement comes on the heels of a recent "Saturday Night Live" skit, in which the comedian playing Christie tried to convince Republican donors to give Romney a chance.

NBC's Chuck Todd reports that popular New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will endorse Mitt Romney's presidential run.

I would like to see either a Cain/Romney ticket or a Romney/Cain ticket. Cain is the more proven problem solver. Romney is good as well. Either way, it would be a win for the United States. Finally, two businessmen running the Federal government. Now we need to change Congress and get more businessmen in there. Less lawyers and politicians. Then, good things would finally happen.

Yea, two guys, whose business claims to fame are closing up operations, laying people off, to improve the bottom line, for their corporate masters; they would be the perfect standard bearers, in the Republican "race to the bottom".

Was Burger King closed down? Was Godfather's Pizza closed down when Cain was running things? I don't think so. Sometimes you have to cut expenses and close unprofitable stores and open profitable ones for a company to survive. If you don't, the whole thing goes down the tubes and you have to close ALL the stores. THINK! So, try again, mad independent.

Well some of us are getting sick of being expendable, while company profits for investors are a sacred cow. Profits for investors should come last, not first. People should not be getting axed so profits dont take a hit, and thats what is happening more often then not. Its never been about saving the company from going under. Its always been about making sure those investors are happy, and screw the worker.

I think that the comparison between runing Godfathers Pizza and Burger King franchises with being president, of the United states is a real reach unless you believe that shuttering our poorly performing southern states is an option. THINK! Businesses and government are not designed to operate the same. It was designed that way purposefully by our forefathers.

Chris Christie supporting romney is like a catholic kissing a mormon and expecting to combine their religions, someone has to be getting a kickback because this is worst than Al Capone and Elliott Ness trying to be friends and not kill each other.

CHRIS CHRISTIE ENDORSES ROMNEY BUT EXPECTS MITT TO LOSE, OR AT LEAST TO FAIL IN FOUR YEARS!!

Though he’s repeatedly said he has no interest in a 2012 presidential run, Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie hasn’t ruled out 2016, The Hill reports.

“Well, who knows? That’s, what, five years from now?” Christie said in an interview with Fox Business Network. “And who knows what life is going to be like five years from now?”

Christie said there are a number of factors that would play into a 2016 presidential run.

“I have to decide whether to seek re-election in New Jersey in 2013 to another term, and if I did, would I get reelected?” Christie said. “There’s all kinds of variables.”

“It’s, ‘do you feel ready?’ And as I’ve said many times before, I think if you’re going to run for president of the United States, you have to feel ready, and I’m not running for president because I don’t feel I’m ready,” Christie said.

This is hilarious. Romney is running against his peers. His peers are bigots and bring up his faith. Once he is the nominee, liberals will be bigots and say the same damn thing.

Calling names be it Mormon, Jew, Christian is unamerican and bigoted.

There is no President in my 47 years of adult life that I have ever thought for one second would compromise the nation if about to be attacked who would NOT do the right thing and make the right decision based on the facts.

President John Kennedy went through this VERY BIGOTED process as a Catholic.

It was disgusting and ugly then and it is now pal.

Now I think that it is insensitive to make hurtful comments and jokes about Mr. Christie's weight, but does he not think that we would notice his 11 comments regarding PIE and how we all want a bigger PIECE of the "infinitive" PIE. The man is a rockstar for the right and here is why. Compare Weiners style of rough, loud, demanding, fighting and tough never gonna quit NY Brooklyn bull headed full of steam just makes you want to cheer until you find out he's from the dark side.

Who even compares to that from the right? they're too damn nice, to proper with thier words, wouldn't say s h i t if they had a mouthful. You just want them TOO YELL AND SAY HELL NO YOU CAN'T.

So enters Christie and he's give it to them Jersey style. The right has ONE face in decades so he is a rockstar to them.

Go figure if you don't like Weiner of Christie for that demeanor. Just as many others would disagree.

Ok live within your means i hear that, because as individuals we all have to do that for our families and households, what i cant seem to grasp is y EVERY SINGLE republican Governor as SOON as they grab power the cut taxes, cut regualtion and then try to balance the budget by cutting things that the average Fire fighter, teacher, nurse, bus driver, toll booth operator(i live in ny) looks forward to help bridge that gap? When its been proven time and time and time and time and well u get the point, that it DOESNT WORK..oh the EPA Is on rampant over reach of new regulation for small biz,umm the last time i checked based on fines and levels of pollutants and such only affect SMALL biz run by the kochs and the lot.

WOW... looks like a first in my life that I'll probably voting for a Republican in 2012... Mitt Romney!

I'm unemployed, drowning in debt trying to hold on to the roof on my head. As a Democrat, I have been so, so disappointed in Obama's lack of experience and ineffective policy. He acts like he doesn't even want the job, doesn't want to be reelected. Complaining that his hands are tied? Well, guess what? Step aside Obama! I'd rather have someone in the WH that will at least TRY to create jobs and get this crippled economy moving again.

Why vote for a crippled man with his hands tied? I'm voting for the enemy that just might move this economy forward... it's a crazy world.

I am your neighbor in Ohio. We gained 30% more state workers over the years Ted Strickland (D) was governor. All the while he raised taxes on business, and we citizens. To be fair to the governor, there was no real way for him to know that the financial market would collapse but he did nothing to adjust for it afterwards. Therefore we piled up 8 billion debt, Ohio founded companies like NCR, Walther Steel and Ohio Gasket ALL over 100 year old business in my state MOVED OUT. A constant sucking sound of people crossing the state line.

They could no longer make it in Ohio. 1 million people left my state along with 600,000 jobs. Strickland COULD of made some cuts but he didn't. And he got fired. We too have had to make tough choices. Out state workers no longer get 100% free health care. We asked they *pay their fair share of 15%* and 10% of their pensions.

I am older and when I was around 23 I was a democrat. I didn't leave the democrat party it left me. The dems of today are NOTHING like the dems my grandfather and father helped to build. I am sure you'll find this hilarious. It was the dems who were conservatives and mostly from the south. So if I sound CONSERVATIVE. I AM. But I split my vote mostly because NO ONE PARTY HAS ALL THE RIGHT ANSWERS.

I believe that MOST of us are in the middle. And if a 3rd party could win 34% of the vote we could take the White House and send the radicals of he LEFT AND RIGHT back to where they belong. THE FRINGE.

I think that's an incredibly biased assessment of the situation. It was more profitable for them to move the jobs elsewhere,...which is not the same as not being able to make it where they were.

If there's any luck in this situation, Joe the Plumber is in your district and you can cast your vote for him. I'm sure THAT will play out well. (sarcasm off).

Obviously you neither live here or own a business. But please check the census. And take notice that Ohio is not an oddity at all. Most NE States did the same thing as Ohio. Most NE states lost business and citizens. And Most NE state lost electoral delegates. When Kerry and Bush ran in Ohio, we had 20 electoral votes. We now have 18. NY lost 2, Jersey lost one or two. All told 14 electoral votes LEFT the NE BLUE states and are now in RED states.

Keep your tax and tax and tax some more policy if you like. Cling to it. But the days of that kind are going down in flames. We must embrace a world economy and many in America are. Refuse and be left behind being one taxpayer for every 3 tax takers in you state.

Have a great day~! And don't be late paying those taxes~!

Well Chuck Todd is a real idiot to. he thinks he's so tough talking to the president of the United States of America like garbage in front of the country. How much are you gonna get from the tea party Chuck Todd. When I saw you talk that way like you were God you sickened me and many other people.

As far as Christie and Romney go.................I have no worry that Our president will out do him. Why?...because all of you have been throwing rocks at a glass house for to long. The president s house. Good beats bad every time, and your the bad ones.

maybe  the 99% will see that you people are not on the peoples side rather your out to distroy us all because of one person you don't like and then destroy us all leaving us in poverty when  you take every thing away. Our Social Security, health care, medicare, medicaid every thing.

3rdparty good conversation, and while some of the things repubs advocate sound ok their OVERALL principles are what scare me,like i said witht he tax situation,u cant over tax the people,we know that from the wars against the English,at the same time u cant keep up this farce that as long as u cut taxes, which i know we can both agree on are at the lowest in 50 plus yrs,Even Saint Reagan raised taxes in his terms. The helping to contribute for ur state run retirement,im down for that, and i would like to c the politicans do the same, however take the Ryan budget this summer,1st as ud expect, cut taxes EVEN lower than they are, then they get to work on slashing education, cutting regulation, repealing the financial act, kicking grandma off the cliff, not to sound like a parody, but as an older person im sure u can agree witht he rising cost of health care theres no conceivable way that u can give a senior 6000 and tell them hey i hope that lasts for 12 months.U c where im going???

Yes. And it is all of our faults for having the attitude that everyone in DC is a crook well except for *my guy*. And they just vote losers back in. I find it refreshing that old guard spending and spending republicans lost their seats last year and will next year too.

When I see the likes of Barney Frank, Maxine Wathers and Charlie Rangle shown the exit door my faith that America is finally getting it right will be there. But I don't see that. Do you?

We've KNOWN for over a decade this was going to be a problem with baby boomers retiring and have DONE NOTHING to prepare. Just spend and spend like there is no tomorrow.
