Scott Brown: 'Thank God' Elizabeth Warren kept her clothes on

In 2010, we learned from Martha Coakley that a candidate for statewide office in Massachusetts can't swing and miss on knowing their Boston Red Sox.

But there's another rule in American politics: tread carefully when you're (likely) running against a female candidate.

In an interview on WZLX radio this morning, Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown (R) was asked about Elizabeth Warren's (D) answer to a debate question about how she paid for law school (when Brown paid for it, in part, by posing nude).

"I kept my clothes on" was Warren's retort at the Democratic debate.

And here was Brown's reply in his radio interview: "Thank God." That response produced laughs from Brown and the radio hosts. (The audio is here.)

How do we know this? Apparently Warren has never had her cloths off.

Nothing like a nice, zero-zero educated, sexist remark from Senator Brown as befits his station.

Someone for women to really look up to on the GOP side of the aisle.

Senator Brown, who now receives the most money from Wall street in all of Congress ~

gave the Old Boys something to chuckle about.

Is ugly a protected class Navy?

His comment appears to have nothing to do with her sex, only the fact that she's, um, likely not Playboy material.

Now maybe I'm wrong. Please help me understand how this is sexist/about gender.

Oh and hey First Read, thanks for picking up my topic suggestion. So how about something on the 5 Gun Runner Memos Holder got, OR that Obama's job bill would create at most 1.3 million jobs.

So we lost another 4ook this weeks and in many weeks past. What percent is the 1.4 in relation to the jobs lost during mighty Obama's reign?

Navy, that comment was in no way, shape or form sexist.

It was actually a very sincere, kind comment from Mr. Brown, expressing his appreciation for the fact that Ms. Warren was never in such a tight financial bind that she had to resort to the same things that he had to resort to.

I believe, that Mr. Brown is very glad that Ms. Warren did not have to take her clothes off to get through school, because that would be quite a cross to bear.

I think you should take back all the mean things you have said about Mr. Brown.

Senator Brown, I'm sure "counselors" all over the United States will tell you the same thing: Anything you say can and will be used against you.

The Democrats don't need to run a negative campaign against these emotional, ideological ignorants...they can sink themselves. All they need to do is open their mouths.

Also Warren is no stranger to hitting it rich. She was paid more than $347,000 annually for her work at Harvard, plus another $53,428 in royalties, according to a disclosure report filed in May 2009. Warren earned more than $116,000 as a legal consultant, and other $25,000 doing research for the Consumers Union, a nonprofit group in Yonkers, N.Y.

In addition Ms. Warren is a professor at Harvard where she is teaching only one class, contract law, twice a week this fall. Records show she was paid $350,000, plus $182,000 in royalties and consulting fees, before she took leave a year ago to establish the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on behalf of the Obama administration.

Doubt Warren was ever interested in taking her clothes off for anyone except her lover however Brown? He wasn't in shape and can hide all man parts with the cup of a rather small hand. That tells me everything I didn't really want to know about the man. Nothing to offer, above or below his pretty face.

Here FR, lets talk a little substance about Ms. (maybe) Warren.

“I hear all this, you know, ‘Well, this is class warfare. No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody!" - Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren

That sums up the Socialist Democrats misguided approach to how wealth is created in this country. To ultra-Leftists like Warren, everything comes from the state, the government. Nothing comes from hard work, perseverance, or someone finding new and innovative ways of doing things. What Warren is saying is that anyone that does make it in this world is beholden to the central government, that they owe a "hunk" of money to the one that got them to where they are, i.e., the government.

Warren rants about the public roads that allow people to reach these businesses. She talks about how the government "educates" its workers. News to most. Most people pay for their own college degrees. She talks about the police keeping out the "marauders" from these businesses. Funny she doesn't the mention the biggest marauder and thief, the government itself.

Warren is full of Leftist drivel and populist rhetoric. She acts like these businesses don't already pay a disproportionate amount of taxes for the roads, for the schools, for the fire and police protection.

Warren is the perfect surrogate for Obama. They are so much alike, and so wrong alike.

JoAnnaSmith1. Have you ever met Ms. Warren? Why do you make judgments on who or what she is? Are you a Massachusetts voter? Then why should you care? She has said educated things that make a lot of sense. Every American has the right to a free education K-12, and every state subsidizes university and post-high school tech training. She is right to say that people are educated through the taxes paid to government. That's why it is so important to keep our education strong. She is correct when she says that our taxpayer-funded police, sheriff, fire and emergency services are also there for corporations -- they don't have to pay an extra charge for these services. Would you rather work for a company that had private firefighters on call? And where would they get the water for fighting the fire if not from the municipal or county?

JAS---if you had taken the trouble to listen to the entirety of Elizabeth Warren's remarks, you would know that in them she makes the points the WE THE PEOPLE pay for things like the roads upon which goods are shipped, the schools that educate the workers, the police and fire services that keep everyone safe. She recognizes that hard work and perseverance are necessary and applauds them---and then asks the people who are getting ahead because of what WE THE PEOPLE have paid for to pay it forward to enable someone else to have similar success. She never suggests that anyone is beholden to the government. But I guess it would be too much for you to listen to the clip and represent it accurately.

Newsflash Steeler - the 1% pay 39% of the taxes. So "we" already have paid our share of the roads and stuff.

The statistics indicate that 1% earn 40% of the income, so, in paying 39%, they pay their fair share. By contrast less wealthy pay a lot less in taxes. Progressive tax system and all, right?

"Nobody gets rich on their own." Great, so how come everybody can't get rich - we all share the same schools and roads, right?

I assure you no rich person wants anyone to be poor.

kate: JoAnnaSmith1. Have you ever met Ms. Warren? Why do you make judgments on who or what she is

No, I have not met Ms. Warren. I make my judgements on what she says, and what is reported about the woman. And is this article just for Massachusetts voters? If so, why is it on a national blog?

Warren is a far left wing ideologue. She believes wealth and prosperity come from the state, and not from individuals. I believe she is wrong, and I have commented as such.

Have you met Ms. Warren. If not, how can you make statements about her?

kate: She is correct when she says that our taxpayer-funded police, sheriff, fire and emergency services are also there for corporations -- they don't have to pay an extra charge for these services

Really kate? Really? Corporations pay property taxes, taxes much higher than a local residence. They pay extra kate. They do pay their fair-share.

#6.5 - Thu Oct 6, 2011 5:12 PM EDT

JAS1 City, County and States give corporations large tax breaks and incentives to put their business in there area. So they in fact are not paying the full amount due that a smaller business would pay. Granted the bigger the business the more ground they cover but if the small guy has to pay full ticket for what he has why should the big guy pay a percentage of the full ticket. How is that paying a fair share. Now some companies are large enough to have their own security as well as fire departments say like boeing. But they are the exception not the rule. So if a large company get a tax reduction just to set up shop and still make use of all the services are they paying their full share or just a percentage.

That is why a lot of women think of double standards that has been used to make them second class citizens.

I suppose there are enough of those to have kept Chris Christie out of the race. So, now the GOP is stuck with all the other dumb clucks.

Scott Brown should be thankful that Mass. voters don't select candidates based on chivalry, a gentleman's disposition, and good manners. Not to mention good sense.
