Wasilla, Alaska
After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.
My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.
From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.
I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.
Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.
In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.
Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!

Anyone with a lick of sense knew this idiot wasn't running. She has rightfully earned so much hatred for her divisive ways, there was absolutely no doubt - and she knows it - that every last bit of dirt about her would have come out.
If the Glen Rice story had been confirmed as indisputable fact, the racist faction of her supporters would have turned on her like rabid dogs.
I don't bet on elections any more. I've learned my lesson. But I'd bet that the Palin's - Todd and Sarah - will be divorced within three years. Palin will lose her Fox gig within six months.
She will be a Grandmother of many out-of-wedlock Grandchildren in short order.

Being concerned about her family, really? That whole letter is the usual BS we've come to expect from Palin. The truth is she knows it's hard work to run and then do the actual job for a full four years, and that she is now a third-tier candidate who would not win anyway. Pick up a copy of It's Classified.

It also puts her in the position of not having ticked off any of the other candidates or having created any really critical video clips about them ...
... in short, she is positioned perfectly to run for vice president.

Who ever gets the nomination won't make the mistake again of putting Palin on the ticket.
If it's a Teabagger candidate like Perry he should select an establishment VP from an area outside the south like a Pawlenty or Christie, and if it's Romney he should pick a Teabagger candidate from the south like a Huckabee, maybe Rubio but he doesn't have any more experience than Romney, assuming any of them (especially an Evangelical) would run with Romney. Either may consider a woman (Bachmann) or black (Cain) as well, though Bachmann is just another Teabagger for Perry, and Romney could use a boost in political experience (Ron Paul?). Any of these candidates would do well to boost foreign policy (can't think of anyone), and most of all someone with integrity, who connects with working Americans, and has heart -- Good luck with that.
A sad week for David Letterman and other late-night comics----first Gov. Christie and now Sarah Palin not in the race.
I never thought she would run. The only reason for her to run is to increase her ability to earn money from Fox "News" and the gullible. She already demonstrated that she did not like the discipline of elective office when she was Governor. Plus, if she pays attention to polling, she doesn't have a prayer of getting the nomination. But,too bad for late night comedians.

See - liberals miss it all the time. Fundamental transformation is occuring all around us, but like guppies swimming in a fishbowl liberals just don't see it. They think everything is good with the world... and Obama has it all under control. He has it under control alright... and when the slam dunk occurs, do NOT open your eyes wide and ask... "Wha happened??!!??" It will be too late when you realize your freedom's are lost because of "Fundamental Transformation."

"fundamental transformation" must be code for something those of us who do not get the hateful viral emails sent to her ilk do not know about....she has made a tactical decision she can make more money by not running than if she did and were roundly trounced. with the likes of ms. palin, cain, christie, the donald, it's all about the money.

I do not know what the fuss was about...she was never running...neither was Christie & Neither is Rubio going for VP position...I wonder why people don't take others at their words? & in the case of Palin her actions...odd So now she is back to just Fox & a sound bite now & then...
I cannot help but feel "heartbroken" for the GOP/TP supporters who were hoping and praying that Sarah Palin would get into the presidential fray ONLY to be betrayed when she announced that she would not run.

They have lost out on a ton of money when they went to her book signings and rallies. They have been cheated; they can't get a refund. In short, this is the political equivalent of somebody saying that they will take you to the most expensive restaurant and everything is on them ONLY to see them brazenly walk out the front door and leaving you to pick up the check.
