"I'm not sharing something I shouldn't, but China has blinded United States satellites with their lasers," said Bachmann, who reiterated that she sits on the House Intelligence Commitee. "They've also supplied arms to the Taliban, and they've helped North Korea deliver missiles to Iran and Pakistan. And they've assisted Iran with their nuclear program."
She also mentioned China's "cyber attacks"on the U.S. and "currency manipulation."
"China has widespread intellectual property theft of United States intellectual property," she said. "Don't forget that. They've also been engaged in industrial espionage against the West as well. And they actively have engaged in cyber attacks both on our military and on our commercial companies."

Bachmann sits on the "intelligence" committee. That word has somehow reached a whole new level of irony.

Wow - that's interesting! Could someone actually damage a spy satellite with a laser? An attempt would certainly attract attention. I have heard that authorities get upset if someone paints a landing airliner with a toy laser. I suppose that would have to do with the fact that the pilot would not be able to determine whether its coming from a targeting device, or its attempting to blind or distract the pilots, or some idiot is playing around. They treat such events seriously. That said, I've heard nothing about laser attacks upon satellites. Seeing as how orbital speed is 5 miles per second it would take a pretty sophisticated tracking device to paint the camera of a spy satellite with a laser long enough to damage the imaging components and that would be news. Is Bachmann privy to a bunch of state secrets? If so why is she blabbing them all over the media? Ether way she's gone rogue like her mentor.

Another more of the same. It is all our politicians' fault. We sent our economy and capital to China. Murdoch is even building a house near Beijing , Geithner is probably next. Unless the crooks from Wall Street are in jail, the money spent on bailing banks out return to taxpayers, all wars stopped immediately, our offshored jobs return , we will just have more of the same-poverty,misery. Please listen to Ron Paul-he is a fresh breath in the sea of stupidity.

At least we know where Bachmann stands on issues. One example: Bachmann is against gay marriage. As far as Obama goes , he's says he's watching the "trend lines."

Gloria W, What's your point? Did I say anything derogatory about gays? My point is that Obama takes a stand for VOTES only. He changes with the wind. ( BTW, I have 2 gay people in my life who I care about so don't make assumptions about people you don't know ! You don't have to pray for me, pray for yourself.)

Smitty, here's a good example just for YOU ! Obama has the drones flying and killing terrorists like Awlaki ( not that I oppose it) but Obama complained that KSM deserves a trial in a NYC federal court instead of a military trial in order to be "fair" . What does Obama really stand for?
Is it just me or does anybody else think the most outspoken element of the fanatic right fringe is dumber than a box of rocks? I'm well aware we live in a country where we're guaranteed freedom of speech, but damn, it should come with a requisite I.Q.
Once we start deciding whose speech is free and whose is not we fall into a trap.
Granted our society does believe in selectively limiting speech based on one's actions. For example, convicted criminals who have committed certain crimes cannot vote in a number of states. In addition we limit free speech in times of war.
Nevertheless, it is important that we remain as unimposing on others free speech as possible.
As for the author of this article they should be given a verbal drubbing for even wasting ink on this meaningless example of today's journalism.
In China's not too distant past America lined up with the European powers and carved up China into economic influence areas under the "Open Door" policy. It is no wonder in particular that there has been no love lost in the ensuing decades.
I think the one thing you can find in common between extreme conservative and liberal elements is their own over estimation of their personal intelligence and gross under estimation of their opponents intelligence.
I have yet to see either side pass up an opportunity to bash the opponents intelligence when given even the merest of excuses to do so.
Lets face it Ad Hominim attacks represent the easiest and most factually devoid method of attacking a persons argument. The fact that forums are rife with them only attests to the over all preference to avoid intellectually addressing the opposition in my own opinion.
If you ever wish to hear an entirely ad hominim based argument there are three places you can go these days
1. an elementry school playground
2. any political forum board

"Bitchy Bachmann is not only Cognitively Disabled. She is very Emotionally Disturbed on a very extreme level, and she has no concept of reality. Maybe she was a "Special" guest on "Romulian Romney's" Bird Of Prey, and she was able to see this from space. WOW! "Bitchy Bachmann" is just plain nuts! The only lasers she saw. Was when the doctors were using Electrical Shock Therapy to help her with continuing compulsive behaviors of insanity. This "Gross Odd Person" needs to be in the same Mental Health Wing as "Scary Perry, "Nutty Nut," "Romulian Romney," and "Crazy Cain.' These GOP Clowns need laser therapy to help them see the many economic, political, and social blunders they continue to make. Laser Therapy is needed to seal their poltical spewing, and the ringing in their ears maybe limited. Getting ready to vote yet America?? I hope so!!
