Few hints about '12 bid as Christie stumps for Jindal

BATON ROUGE, La. – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie warned a small crowd gathered Thursday evening in a hangar at the Baton Rouge Airport that he would be “watching from New Jersey” for voters to re-elect Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal this fall.

But working the rope line after the event, the New Jersey Republican ignored multiple questions from reporters about a potential bid for the White House, the subject of much speculation after his speech Tuesday at the Reagan presidential library in California.

Still, on Thursday, Christie did more than simply voice his support for the governor of the Bayou State. “If it were, you know, up to Bobby and I, we could focus all our time right here in our own states here in Louisiana and New Jersey,” Christie said. “But we can’t do that, because America needs to get better too.”

And at times he sounded like some of the Republicans now on the presidential campaign trail. “If you’re looking for leadership in America, you know you’re not going to find it in the Oval Office,” he said.

The event was billed as welcome rally for Christie – who later in the evening joined Jindal again for a fundraiser at a private home, with tickets going for as much as $100,000.

At the airport, Christie ended with a warning to Louisiana voters.

He said, “I expect a huge win for Bobby Jindal on election night, and if I don’t get it, if I don’t get it, you don't want me coming back here with a little Jersey attitude on me. You’re going to have a problem if that happens."

Chris Christie has show what an idiot he really is. I wouldn't vote for him even if he ran for pig greaser. Like anyone cares if he is from NJ. Or worse yet that he has a NJ attitude. What in hell does that mean? How did this idiot get into politics anyway?

I am a conservtive resident of NJ but I am not a big fan of Christie and I hope he doesn't run. He may be "conservative" next to our last governor (Corzine) but he is not a conservative. NJ has it's own little version of cap in trade which he has done nothing about. He just signed an anti bullying law for the schools that sounds good in theory, but is a nightmare in practice. My friends 11 year old son just got anti-bullying charges filed against him because some kid accused him of stealing one of his 15 cent folders. Now there has to be an investigation, paperwork yada yada...because school employees are personally liable if they dont report "possible" bullying. And by way, there is strong proof that there was no folder in the first place and this other kid is just trying to stir up trouble.

Before school was ruined by Liberals and unions the "bullies" would have worked things out between them or fear being sent to the principals office. There certainly were no police called to settle comman childhood conflicts.

This results in children never learning to resolve conflicts and how to handle their own behavior.

Pat Boston, what have you been smokin'? Obama withheld Fema for both LA and NJ purely as political revenge for their criticism of him and his policies! He was especially pissed at Jindal during BPs Gulf oil spill when Jindal accepted help from non-Union backed companies rather than companies controlled by Obama's union buddies! Obama showed just how well he could use the 'knife in the back' strategy in those two states!

I don't think that Mr. Christie really wants to run for President. He simply doesn't sound like a candidate and the Republicans must really be desperate if they're begging him on bended knee to run. The poor man looks beside himself whenever he speaks and he sounds as if he's trying to placate everybody. He would be better off saying a resounding "No, I won't run and that's the end of it"!

Peace.

Only the media is pushing this topic. Not the rank & file Republicans.

The media just wants to gin it up to have something to talk about.

I am  an Independent.  I voted for Obama and many other Independents like me will vote for him again.  We realized that the biggest hinderance to him accomplishing the goals that he set out for our country is mainly the party of NO, the crazy tea party republicans who are very selfish and only think that they have the solutions. No matter what Obama proposed the crazies said NO to everything.  The crazy tea party republicans, I promise will be supprised this coming election.  Independants aren't crazy and they can see thru the tea party republicans real motives and it is not in helpin  our country.  It's Obama or the crazy tea party republicans.  The choice is clear.  It's more moderate republicans that's needed and tea party republicans don't have a clue.  They are ( the republican tea party ) are all STUCK ON STUPID.  Watch what happens this  coming election.  They ( the republican tea party crazies ) are dillusional if they think we are going to vote for them.

Sorry Im also an Independent and ALL of my peers will NOT vote for MR Obama. We elected the Republicans in 2010 to do just this Stop the Spending and get rid of HRC. Look at the polls its clear that Independents do NOT favor Mr Obama.

By party:

  • 32% of independent voters now approve of the president’s job performance, 57% disapprove, and 11% are unsure. Last month, 38% of independents thought highly of the president’s performance, 46% disapproved of it, and 16% were unsure.
  • 71% of Democrats approve of Mr. Obama’s job performance while 74% did so in McClatchy-Marist’s previous survey.
  • Among Republicans, most voters still disapprove of how the president is doing in his post. 87% have this view now compared with 83% who did so last month.

Weird, isn't it? A fat-assed Yankee from New Jersey goes to Louisiana to tell a bunch of Cajuns what a godsend Bobby Jindal is. Wouldn't you think Louisianians would already know more about Bobby than some "up north" donut assassin? Now I used to live in Monroe and know the people of LA to be friendly folks ~ but no Southerner has much tolerance for Yankees coming down to tell them how to run their business. Those that do 'drop down" occasionally as Christie did are quite often described by Southerners as "hemorrhoids."

IMHO get a current skill and search, if you have the proper skills there are a lot of high paying jobs. You can not expect your old jobs to come back.....We dont make stage coaches anymore! I know at least 12 people who have been unemployed for the 100 months and are making no provisions for moving on. They are angry that their 45 to 60 Dollar per hour Auto jobs are not going to make a reappearance. The funny thing is they are now Anti Obama because of how he handled the auto reorg.

In deep-backwoods America Perry is the choice where they love guns, chewin two-baccy, Coors beer, and stock-car racing ! He's a flop anywhere else ! Romney is qualified in many ways but his negative side is transparent-He's an elitist-rich, well-connected and a staunch defender of Wall St, Corporate America and the Country Club crowd. The rest are a bunch of mixed radicals, flip-floppers, and crazed Calvacade of Clowns-just plain scary ! This Independent from Texas is still waiting for someone interested in ALL of America--VOTE INDEPENDENT !

The strategy is simple: accumulate as much GOP support to tell whomever is nominated to pick Christie as VP, and chips call in in the more-distant future.

The GOP ticket looks like Romney/Christie. That way, Christie keeps his word not to run for "President", Christie would be an excellent surrogate, after 4-8 years of experience he wouldn't be inexperienced as he says he is now, he would not have to attack fellow Republicans like the rest are doing, and he could avoid the yahoo sloganeering until the Convention, he can avoid most questions by making prepared speeches thus avoiding Rick flame-out--then direct his comments at Obama.

He's a smart politician in sync with the tenor of the country.

The comments are not partisan and are only part of the story, but they are an effort to be objective (right or wrong).

Chris Christie will not run. No matter how much the lame-stream media pushes him.
Maybe in 2016, but not sooner.
