Remember Obama had a super-majority when he came into office. He and the Democrats could have passed ANY law. They could have changed anything and everything. I guess I will have to reply to myself. I was hoping that people saw the interview. I think Cory Booker is doing a great job as Newark's mayor. He talked about having different views than the Gov. Chrisitie but how they worked together for the good. How they respected each other. Isn't this a good example of how Goverment should work?
That is interesting... the general election is still 13 months away, yet a significant percentage of this poll's voters believe that it is too late for a newcomer to enter the race.
If Palin gets in, I figure she'll actually announce within a month of the first primary. Which makes sense, as the candidates all seem to do well just before and after they announce, then a week later they start to go downhill.
SOTB- Maybe it's isn't too late, but it seems like there would have to be some pretty last-minute organizing, fundraising, etc.
BUT- my problem with people getting in late like this is- they have had a chance to watch from the safety of the sidelines, while the other candidates all went in front of the people in these 'debates', and showed their hands. What plays well in MN doesn't necessarily work elsewhere, and what works in NJ doesn't necessarily work elsewhere. If you believe Wikipedia, NJ is the third most wealthy state, and the most densely populated. So what works there might not work for Kansas, Montana, Wisconsin or Maine, etc.
I simply don't understand why Republicans go into orgasmic ecstasy whenever Chris Christie's name is mentioned as a possible Presidential candidate. It's not a question of self-control, but rather a question of genetic predisposition, and something I'm sure he has struggled with all his life. But his health might be a concern -- he has trouble with asthma, for one thing.
JFK was in pain ( and taking meds) every single day of his Presidency. That did not prevent him from doing his job. Christie is a very hard working man and his weight has not prevented him thus far from doing the great work in NJ that he has done.
