Rahm to headline Iowa J-J Dinner

Rahm Emanuel has been Chicago mayor for just four months, but he’s already hitting the campaign trail again -- this time for his old boss, President Obama. Emanuel will be the headline speaker at the Iowa Democratic Party’s annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner on Nov. 19.

State party chairwoman Sue Dvorsky called Emanuel “one of the great advocates for Democratic values and middle-class opportunity.”

The big Democratic fundraising dinner, traditionally a showcase for presidential candidates before the state’s first-in-the nation presidential contest, was a key moment in the Dem primary fight between Obama and Hillary Clinton -- when Obama delivered a well-received speech heading into the Iowa caucuses.

Now where is the olg gal when you need her?

I miss you.

So Rahm can go and tell them all about the $50 "Fatty Tax" he is imposing.

See libbies, as we run out of rich people's money, they come after yours.

So whose up for paying a fat tax? Although - it is Chicago, so they all could use more exercise no doubt.

You forgot Spanky, they already took our money, nothing left to take us for. The rich are all that is left that has sacrificed nothing.

Surely you will find someone to feel sorry for the rich. How dare we ask those who have done better than anyone else to pay a fair tax.

"Sacrificed nothing."

Funny thing perspective. Tell you what, how's about we switch up tax burdens.

We can start with next quarter's estimated tax payment. Deal?

But tell us AF - who took your money, and how did they take it?

Funny thing is moral around here has certainly gotten better around here, even though I have increased the beatings. Seems that "the man" ain't so bad these days when he's providing the good old paycheck.

Oh and go ahead and tell me precisely what you mean by "fair." Just how much of my money should I be allowed to keep?

Only what you need, that is fair.

UM, opnly what who needs?

Who gets to decide?

I just read a study [RCP] the fully 1/2 of every federal dollar is wasted. That is fantastic.

Oh well at least we got the Senate dems to protect us from tax hikes.

Obama is so money - it really is just math, and Reid can seem to add by addition.

So it looks like the Solydra fellas will we exercising their 5th Amend right against self incrimination.

That is fantastic and has to bring shouts of joy to Team Obama.

Cause you gotta ask yourselves why they are afraid of criminal prosecution, IF, as the White House has said, every thing was all Sunshine and roses.

Buckle up gang, it's going to take a while, but this is most terrible and horrible news - cause their dealing was not with evil, greedy wall streeters or banks, but your Dept. Of Energy and according to multiple e mails the White House.

It's the government, what could go wrong?

Oh My!

You should KNOW that simple answer Spanky... because lawyers are involved (and we all know how crooked they are) so anything can happen. DUH. Why even ask such a question????

Article states: State party chairwoman Sue Dvorsky called Emanuel “one of the great advocates for Democratic values and middle-class opportunity.”

Amazing - A rich woman calling mister rich Emanuel a great advocate for middle-class opportunity...

Why is it ONLY democrat rich people act like they advocate for the middle class? Emanuel couldn't care less about the middle class. Talk about an outright lie...

Actually, I think Rahm has been doing an excellent job. In his short tenure, he has already taken on the Teamsters (who consistently drive business from Chicago), he took away 4 of the 6 body guards one of our alderman has been felt entitled to since the 80's, he took away credit cards from city employees, he's taken on the teacher's union (and most recently told the head of the Chicago Board of Ed "F-You!" (which, by the way, was probably entirely appropriate). And I actually heard him say: "Government doesn't create jobs; Government creates an environment in which businesses can create jobs."

I am liking Rahm Emanuel.

With repeal of DADT, most conservatives have been in a fetal position today. Haven't the rest of you heard? Please run along now and give the rest of us at least one day of peace and quiet. Sheesh.

No, Spanky...the only thing that has increased is your ignorance and insignificance...but you know that already.

...keep up the good work, "counselor"...you're doing a stellar job.

I wonder who's house he'll threaten to burn down or if the party games will be "see who can drop the most F-bombs in casual conversation".

Or maybe he'll threaten to beat up somebody's wife.

That Rahm......he's such a character.

Will they be serving fish perhaps?

If so, will it be sleeping?

There is so much talent in the Democrat Party, and it's nice to see many of them publishing books such as Michigan Governor Granholm, and Elizabeth Warren running against Scott "Centerfold" Brown, and President Bill Clinton on Meet the Press and other programs, and some great ads are beginning to broadcast...maybe the Pray Away the Insanity is starting to work.

So sad none of that talent seems to have found its way to the White House, eh?

I also presume you libbies are all hating on all the dem senators who are running away from Obama's jobs bill. You all gonna "get" 'em?

McCaskil, Landrieu, Nelson, Manchin. At present 6 have flat out said they are a no vote, and we know how good Obama is at math, so 53-6<50.

Oh no.

"There is so much talent in the Democrat Party, and it's nice to see many of them publishing books such as Michigan Governor Granholm,"

The lefty moonbat Granholm was talented at...destroying Michigan's economy and switching Michigan to the GOP for a generation. Detroit thanks her for doing such a great job....

Chicago is another example of the cleanly-run efficiency of Dem governance ..look to the inner cities to see the results of liberal policies.

Not "pray away the insanity"...vote away these insane progressives before they destroy us.

I have to say, when I read the Salon article this morning, I was aghast.

Jennifer Granholm has a plan for America? Is that anything like the plan she had for Michigan?

Democrats do not recognize failure- abject, unquestionable, failure.

It's okay, though. Obama has driven a stake through the heart of that party.

By 2016, there will be a democratic party candidate- who will garner the same level of support as the Green party.

Think "No Labels". They're the up and comers.

To quote FDR, I welcome your hatred.

For nearly four years you have had an Administration which instead of twirling its thumbs has rolled up its sleeves. We will keep our sleeves rolled up.

We had to struggle with the old enemies of peace—business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering.

They had begun to consider the Government of the United States as a mere appendage to their own affairs. We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob.

Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for me—and I welcome their hatred.

I should like to have it said of my first Administration that in it the forces of selfishness and of lust for power met their match. I should like to have it said of my second Administration that in it these forces met their master.

Now run along you right-wing Haters, and watch your Party grow smaller and smaller with solid conservatives like Lamar Alexander stepping down from a leadership position.

True Patriot! You Rock... Bush introduced us to 'our country in fear'... It worked for a few years... We've turned a corner, and now all the right-wing has to say is 'fear, it's still works!'

It doesn't - not anymore... People are waking up, looking at their checkbook balances, and saying 'WTF'... why am I paying for everything?

Looking forward to 2012... Obama/Biden all the way....

The protests on wall street is in its fourth day, and two have been arrested, almost no one has even heard about it, for four days, I ask someone what they thought about it, and they said what? protest, Ive been watching the news everyday, and this was the first they new of it, I can see why they might want to suppress it but I don't agree, with that thinking, people should hear all the news not just what they want one to hear!!!

Three years ago, I would have welcomed this attitude from obama. I would have welcomed this new attitude if it would have been directed at a public option or national healthcare. After years of seeing him practice appeasement with republicans for years, this now seems just politics. Maybe he's finally figured out that gibbs was wrong to say with arrogance that the administration really didn't want to hear from us because after all, where else are the dems going to go? He didn't figure we would stay home. It is not a tax increase to bring them back in line to those of reagan or bush 1. just call it an adjustment of failed policies. He has fallen for bluffs from the hardcore republicans time after time but now a year out, he wants to fight?

Obama will probably still win this(at I'm afraid, the expense of both house and senate. just look at the victims left in his wake-feingold, kennedy's seat, etc.) but only because the repubs will nominate a nut case such as perry. huntsman or romney would have a better than decent chance of winning but I just don't give people like no jo that much credit for making a rational decision.

after suffering through this drought(worse than the dust bowl btw) it hits home that 1 fracking well wastes up to 13 million gallons of water.
