The Hill: “The debt super committee is unlikely to ‘go big’ and find more than $1.5 trillion in budget cuts, according to a member of the special panel.”
“The Joint Committee on Deficit Reduction will hold its first full-member closed-door session Thursday morning, multiple sources have confirmed,” Roll Call writes.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports Rep. Joe Walsh “appears to be $100,000 behind in child-support payments” – and a judge wants to know why he wasn’t in court yesterday. His ex-wife “has gone into court on numerous occasions since filing for divorce in 2002, seeking court orders to have her ex-husband meet his court-ordered child-support obligations.”

Why is it Closed Door?
They're being locked in until they come up with a plan.
At least they should be...
Nah, they should be just locked up, that's what happens to dead beat dad's - the same should apply to dead beat congress people...
Joe Walsh is not a member of the Super Committee, MSNBC just threw that in for spin. This is the same bunch that refers to the Marine Medal of Honor winner as an ex Marine. But consider the source and the First Reader regulars they are all a bunch of losers
A do nothing Congress.
I heard kyl wants to 'pick up his marbles and go home'. Typical.
Super Committee ... yeah, right! Repubs put everyone on the committee that will NOT approve revenue increases ... and Dems put everyone on the committee that WANT revenue increases ... now THAT should be a real productive group ... NOT! A 6th grade Civics class could do better than the fools we have in Congress.
What should happen is that ALL PAY & PERKS to Congress stop until this so-called "super committee" comes up with a real solution. Its time to impliment some negative, motivational strategies with Congress.
You're right, it's just a sham. Rich ideological zealots from both sides locked in a room to make decisions for the whole country - its just as absurd as it is comical... Our political system is in the tank just where the corporatists want us to be. Flood the system with uncontrolled amounts of money and this is what you get. Don't worry the "job creators" will save us all - sure...
I agree MacandFries, take away their pay and perks and they'd have a solution by the end of the week.
Will someone please list all these job creators the tea people GOP republicans keep talking about. In all my life I have never heard anyone introduce themselves as a job creator. Where are they, where do they live, we need to find them and bring them home.
Send Joe Walsh to jail! No special treatment! If it was a regular citizen they would be in jail!!
Tommy - they believe they are above us and the system treats them that way. This is one of those baby momma moments that they always use to stereotype other folks. When sh$$ happens to them its an oversight or mis-characterization, but when it happens to others it's the product of socialism or the decay of American values precipitated by the "welfare state"...
