MANCHESTER and CHICHESTER, N.H. -- Rick Perry turned up the heat on Barack Obama in a pair of campaign stops in sweltering New Hampshire yesterday, but claimed he is keeping his cool.
“Somebody said it’s kinda hot here and I went, ‘Nope,'" joked the Texas governor as hundreds of voters beared the afternoon sun in Manchester.
Perry, who concluded his third swing through the Granite State today, sustained his attacks on President Obama. The GOP candidate faulted Obama's healthcare plan for the dismal employment landscape.
"If the president wants to make a good jobs speech, he needs to stand up in front of the American people and say we're going to repeal Obamacare," Perry said to more than 300 voters in Chichester. "Mr. President, you cannot spend your way to prosperity. It doesn't work; it's never worked."
As for the rest of the GOP field, Perry played nice but also took the opportunity to issue a thinly veiled dig at his main competition for the GOP nomination, Mitt Romney, and his Massachusetts health-care record. Perry recently surpassed Romney in several polls.
“Let me just go on the record. They’re all good men and women," Perry said, gripping the podium. "But as we consider this economic misery that has spread across this country by the Obama administration, we don’t need a nominee who is going to blur the differences between himself and Barack Obama. We’re going to have a nominee who draws a clear contrast. The differences between President Obama and I are great.”
At both stops, Perry was quizzed on illegal immigration by Republican voters. He advocated federal involvement of National Guard troops on the Texas-Mexico border but no physical barrier.
"No, I don't support a fence on border. I think strategic fencing is part of the strategy but it's 1,200 miles from Brownsville to El Paso," said Perry in Manchester. "And how long would it take to build that if needed to build 30 foot wall? The 35-foot ladder business would get really good," he quipped.
Perry has now been in the race for a short three weeks and his popularity has surged quickly as Granite Staters begin to take a
closer look at exactly what the man with the Texas twang is all about. More than 300 Republican voters turned out at both speeches, according to campaign staff.
Perry, who was well-guarded by security and staff as he moved through the crowds, took no questions from journalists but did pause to answer a question from a 9-year-old New Hampshire resident.
"If you could be one superhero, who would it be?" he asked the 3-term Texas governor.
"I don't know of the real current heroes, but there was one back in my day, Superman," Perry replied. "Superman came to save the United States!"
As you may remember, GOP candidate Herman Cain gave the same young man a similar answer in Manchester two weeks ago, "Superman! Because we have a super mess in Washington!"

"...The differences between President Obama and I are great."
They sure are, Rick.
Obama doesn't think he is a comic book character - You do.
Obama uses the English language well - You speak like a 7th grade dropout.
Anyone of the current crop of clowns running is a stark contrast to President Obama.
President Obama = educated
President Obama = pragmatic
Presidnet Obama = intelligent
President Obama = caring
President Obama = not certifiably insane
You forgot=failure
lol
"failure".
I would simply add:
Incompetent.
The GOP doesn't need a nominee whose a "clear contrast". That's the same as saying they need an extremist nominee. That, like Perry, just means offering another destructive choice for President. What the GOP needs is a moderately conservative person with principles like most of us typical Americans. These ultra-conservative extremist philosophies that the Tea Party demands, as well as subservient attitudes to corporate executives, is exactly what the GOP does not need. Not another urban cowboy from Texas, please.
Slick Rick is a another God Darn red neck cowboy, who will let big business ride ruck shot over the country.
Perry and the Tea Party have destroyed American Politics. They have changed the game.
Instead of compromise, the new norm is destroy the world to get your way.
All of this, to get rid of "that man" in the white house.
The Tea Party can rot for all I care.
There surely will be a clear contrast in 2012, unless president Obama moves further to the right. I hope he doesn't and finds his voice and determination during this next election and comes out on the other side more committed to the middle class. Not tethered by another reelection campaign he should be able to be more bolder in a next term. I certainly hopes it's against Rick Perry...
Yet, he can't put together a simple budget ... well at least one that isn't voted down 97-0.
Really, the guy that talked about lowering the tides?
Know the definition of antithesis? (you just got it.)
So a narcissistic member of academia who's main accomplishment in life was to write 2 books about himself, a guy with not ONE SECOND of executive experience, gets the biggest executive job in the world and then surrounds himself ...... with clueless members of academia without experience. Yea - that's intelligent.
A guy that takes $10 million in stimulus intended to help unemployed Americans and instead spends it on 2,500 AK-47s, sniper rifles, etc. and intentionally sells them to murdering Mexican drug cartels that result in countless deaths......all in an effort to promote his anti-gun agenda?
Yet a definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Obama talked about infrastructure, shovel ready jobs ... then laughed about it didn't work .... now proposes the same thing.
Obama talked about green jobs, bragged about them ....... they have failed - last one costing tax payers a half a trillion ...... and he will propose more.
All his measures have failed ..... and he will propose more of the same measures.
Certifiably insane?
Anyone that votes for this guy again?
Whoops - last one costing tax payers a half a trillion ...... and he will propose more.
That was $535 million or half a billion - not trillion.
Finding a running mate with a backbone would work given that criteria!
If conservatives wanted a "clear contrast" why do they keep bullying to "jam through" their narrow, extreme agenda? Now the GOP/TP is pushing the president to adopt a balanced budget amendment, WTF? That's your draconian agenda, so own it!
Teapublicans -- Make your case like normal, sane, civil people do. Stop with the obstruction, underhanded machinations, and hostage taking to force your American Nightmare on the rest of us. If 'The People' don't agree with your anti-democratic agenda, and you can't get it passed within our constitutional democratic system, step off. No, second amendment rights is NOT an answer either.
TP
So spending $4 billion that you don't have every day .... is ok - but suggesting a balanced budget is ... "extreme?"
Uh .... they do, even without mocking bibles and guns, punish your enemies crap, slurpees, alligators in the moats, ride in the back stuff ...... class warfare, demogoguery ...... refering to the opposition as terrorists, telling them to go to hell .....
They proposed and passed a balanced budget ..... Reid tabled it ..... won't even discuss it.
Who is obstructing ........ Who is obstructing even the discussion?
What have they done that is underhanded? Have they bought off members with Lousianna Purchases, Cornhusker Deals? Have they tried to pass anything so "we can find out what's in it?"
Hostage taking?
They are the ones that always said the money was there for SS and military pay. They the ones that threatened grandma and military families with no checks?
What party has usurped the role of Congress and the will of the American people to install Cap and Trade by executive fiat, install immigration reform by executive fiat, to start wars with out going to Congress, to ignore defense of laws such as the DOMA that they swore to enforce, to ignore federal judges orders over the moratorium, to defy contempt orders, to be accused of breaking international law by a foreign government for selling 2,500 assault rifles to drug cartels .....
And you talk about the democratic system under this guy? Obama certainly doesn't care about the rule of law or the democratic process.
Regardless, the other guys will play by the rules ..... did pretty well in the 2010 "democratic process" / elections and that was nothing but a few sprinkles compared to the storm coming in Nov. next year.
Here is a "clear contrast":
Perry is using the confederate constitution and not the US constitution to define his position. Just a couple of examples. He claims that:
1. Medicare and Social Security are unconstitutional ("general welfare" not in the Confederate Const.).
2. Infrastructure spending is unconstitutional (Confederate Const. forbids "appropriating money for internal improvement to facilitate commerce").
3. Confederate constitution prohibited tariffs (free trade) and rejected federal financing of internal improvements (stimulus).
Meanwhile, we see Perry wished to grant Bush a line-item veto to unilaterally alter federal appopropriations ~ unconstitutional under our current US constitution.
In his book "Fed Up" out 9 months ago, Perry claims that almost everything that protects ordinary folks and helps them to live quality lives is unconstitutional.
Governor Perry has a lot to answer for in Texas, including 234 executions on his watch. Perrry is a say-anything, do-anything power-tripper in the service of corporations who will send this country back 200 years.
Wow bob
Nice bitch slapping there.
Ouch
Perry reminds me to much of.. "HITLER" !
Where's Navy?
He'll just love this...
Actually, Hitler's campaign promises in 1933 were a lot more palatable, and many of his social programs did a lot of good in the early days. Far, far better than Perry's ideas. Unfortunately, Hitler had a hidden agenda that we all know now was hideous. But such things weren't known when he was first elected. With as bad as Perry's statements are, I wonder what his hidden agendas for the country are. I don't want any tomato surprises like we got from Bush, junior grade.
It's always good to hear a defense of all the "good" things Hitler's Germany did for the German people...especially at a liberal/progressive website.
Especially at First Read.
"Say it ain't so" - no need for the Hitler references here, no matter what side of the arguement your on...
Spoken like a true socialist.
Yea, all of the socialist stuff sounds great ....... hope, change, the people, the workers, shared sacrifice, demagoging the rich or Jews, free national health care, free abortions, anti-capitalim ..... don't worry, big government will take care of everything ......
Even the recovery programs are the same - infrastructure, roads, bridges etc.
Difference is that when everyone realizes the socialistic schemes are not sustainable - Hitler believed that taking over other countries was smarter than selling your country to other countries.
Being reduced to having a Fuher, a dictator is better than Perry's ideas??
Losing all representative government and being hopelessly dependent on government is better?
Yep, Obama's agenda turned out to be pretty hideous too.
Worst economic recovery since the Great Depression, housing equity loss that actually surpasses that of the Great Depression, no growth after trillions spent, credit down grade, 9+% unemployment year after year and .......... you are pathetically still talking about Bush?
Picking an opposite of obama would be easy: A savy businessman, someone with guts, a thick skin to withstand the liberal whining, anyone with more experience than a neighborhood organizer, someone not heavily obligated to Harry Reid or George Soros, this is a very easy one for Rick Perry!
Come on bob, if you're gonna advocate for having a state, shouldn't you at least want it to be functional? Seems the 2 big guys on the block (dems and repubs alike) each view the state as merely a tool to justify the politcal power of their respective parties. But at least the dems pay lip service to functional government. Repubs don't hide the fact that want the state to be nothing more than a security service for the rich.
Hey Indy,
You've never seen me quote Payne and say Bush was an evil, Obama is an intolerable evil?
Bottom line is big government created the mess.
Life ain't fair - grow up, get over it and get big government out of the way.
BTW- thanks for the laugh about the dems pay lip service to functional government .....and to bad that's all they feel they need.
What's really sad is that people fall for that diaphanous hopey changy lip service and actually vote for it, huh?
Liberals love to subvert the Constitution when it means more freebies, but don't want to honor the Constitution if it means more freedom.....and personal responsibility.Get ready,Richard348249, Obama's going to make another recovery speech, this one will turn the tide on unemployment!!! I'm certainly glad he doesn't talk like a black man,as Harry Reid says, unless he wants to.....Racist liberals.
This is just a stretch - But are you from Texas?
And you accuse liberals of subverting the Constitution?
Pull your head out of that dry, parched, sand, my man.
Hell the current Republican-Tea Potty group is so dumb, they think President Reagan wrote the Constitution.
alamo - Your side inherited and gladly welcomed the "Dixiecrats" in that devoted fold of white racists GOPhers. Got hate, y'all!
------------------------------
To answer Bob, a balanced budget amendment with spending cuts between 16-18% of GDP is draconian. Mainstream economists say the lowest we could go without causing a complete collapse would be around 22% of GDP.
Furthermore, the budget is a responsibility of Congress -- To find balance between each Party position. It may be a messy "sausage making" process, but that is precisely why the founding fathers gave Congress the "purse strings" and budget responsibility. An automated process not only removes flexibility as may be needed (e.g., times of war), more importantly is it anti-democracy because it takes away representation of The People by elected officials. Currently, if voters don't like budget decisions, they have a voice.
The larger problem is the "crony capitalism" in which special interests and rule of the rich (plutocracy) is what drives fiscal decision-making. As a result we have corporate welfare, in which profits are privatized and debt is socialized. The balanced budget amendment is just another version of this problem. Such spending cuts without revenue -- especially requiring shared sacrifice from the richest 2% -- would destroy what's left of our middle class. A middle class is important for preservation of democracy as well.
Anyone supporting the far-right Teabagger agenda is anti-America, both in terms of the American Dream and in terms of Separation of Church and State.
Freebies? Like Teabaggers driving on public roads to public parks to hold a Hate Government Rally with protection from public police is what? And tell us please, how many of you are on disability, Social Security, unemployment, and if not any of these things, aren't cheating or evading taxes? Self-righteous, and self-serving, that's what the far-right folks are.
Alamodefender, which constitution are you defending?
Perry is using the confederate constitution and not the US constitution a lot.

I think anyone that doesn't believe in the Teaparty agenda is anti American. The bitchslap the left took in the midterm is a sign of things to come. This administration is lame at best. The weak leadership and political fumbling isn't going unnoticed. A polar opposite from Lil Obamy is the right strategy.
I think anyone who believes in the tea people GOP republican agenda is anti American. The bitch slap the right is about to take in 2012 is a sign of things to come. This field of tea people GOP republican candidates is just lame. The non existent ideas and political fumbling isn't going unnoticed by the electorate. A change in congress is the right strategy.
Have you heard of "taxation without representation?" That's what a balanced budget amendment is.
The Teabaggers are just the religious zealots in fake tri-corner (or tin foil) hats. And they aren't even very good at religion. They don't care about the poor, the elderly, or our planet.
The Teabaggers talk about secession, they wanted to default on our good faith and credit, and want a balanced budget amendment to take away the vote from the American people--right along with the right-wing SCOTUS ruling to allow corporations the same rights as people. If this isn't being a traitor, what is?
Perhaps the nation's voters would welcome both a "choice"...
And, a "referendum"...in spite of what Axelrod, Plouffe, and the rest of the $1 billion Obama reelection team prefers.
In either case...I'm uncertain as to how President Obama benefits.
Rick Perry or Sarah Palin? Lol!
Bachmann beats them both!!!
A three way tie, hands down!
Perry may be right, but I question if there is any GOP candidate who would actively support gay marriage, strengthen the EPA, end our overseas military shenanigans, fight for single-payer health care, stop spying on American citizens, end the Bush/Obama tax cuts, end extraordinary rendition, stop killing civilians with drone attacks, abolish the Patriot Act, strengthen Social Security and Medicare.
Nope, Perry's fighting a losing battle here. The contrast button is broken.
Indy-
I'm a conservative, but...
You certainly make a great argument for President Obama.
Have you donated money or pledged your time to his reelection campaign yet?
;-)
Stop pullin' my leg MB. Heck, if I was a conservative, I'd be tripping all over myself to vote for his re-election. Nah, I'm one of those whiney lefties dems like to blame for putting ideals above pragmatism.
OK, OK, Indy...
I'm letting go.
Wouldn't it be funny if I were the only one to appreciate the sarcasm in your posts?
Hilarious, Indy...
Gotta admit a soft spot for you MB. :) But since I ragged on the dems, its rag on the repubs time, just to be fair mind you.
Here's a question I'd like you to answer: Since most repubs readily support corporate Socialism, and corporations are people, why are repubs against Socialism for people? Seems contradictory.
I'd love to answer your question, Indy...
But, I'm not sure I get your drift.
What is "corporate Socialism", as you define it?
And...
Aren't corporations people...in the sense that corporations produce goods and services generated by the labor of their employees ("people"), and then pay salaries and benefits to those employees...plus dividends to their shareholders (also "people")?
Strictly defined...I guess corporations aren't people. They're corporations.
But...I've worked for corporations.
In my experience...they really are "people".
Hard to run one without people, Indy.
Try it.
PS, Indy.
I enjoy your stuff as well.
Corporate Socialism, or corporate welfare, is when the gubment gives mucho $ to corporations for 1 reason or another. In fact, more welfare is distributed to corporations than individuals. Also, the socialization of loss and privatization of gain as demonstrated in the wealth transferred to banks by both Bush and Obama. All this is what I refer to as corporate Socialism.
As for corporations being people, say an extremely bright entrepreneur ran his corporation using only robots. Even though he has no people working for him, the corporation is still considered a person. (An extreme example I admit, but legitimate nonetheless).
LMTM! (laughing maniacally to myself). I just read your comment on 2.3. Nice.
Indy...
The government shouldn't (generally) be giving cash to companies.
Exceptions?
OK.
Maybe.
Still, corporations should, for the most part, succeed (or fail) on the merits of what they can offer to those who would consider buying their products...compared to their competitors.
Robots, Indy?
Really?
Could be.
Maybe it'll come to that.
But corporations (and "people") will design, manufacture (likely with robotic help) those robots, and profit from them.
Because, Indy...
If no consumers (aka: people) benefit from, and purchase, whatever it is that a corporation (or any business, regardless of its size) wants to sell...
What's the point?
I understand what you're saying about corporations, I just don't believe that, as entities, they deserve the same rights as individual members of society. I can't get into a car accident with Exxon. I can't get into an argument about existentialism with Wells Fargo at the local pub. Bank of America may be made up of people, but it is not a person.
TARP drove me crazy, Indy.
So did "Cash For Clunkers" and the bailouts of the banks, and of GM and Chrysler, etc.
Unless we agree, as a nation...verified by the voters, that we're finished with capitalism...
Why have we been making good on the bad decisions of private companies?
From the banks that bought subprime mortgages (and then, inexplicably, were able to sell that garbage to Fannie and Freddie), to the corporations that tried to sell products that American consumers don't want or need...why are American taxpayers on the hook?
Why on earth should these enterprises have survived...because of U.S. government intervention?
One thing's certain..."people" are picking up the tab, aren't they?
Cash for clunkers and the auto manufactures bail outs worked because they impacts manufacturers. I agree with you on the bank bailouts though, the government should have let them sink or swim in the financial mess they created - but you know Paulson wasn't going to let his buddies fail...
Mav- "cash for clunkers" worked- to a degree- in the shoot term, but the long term, unforeseen consequences, were dire.
It removed salable, inexpensive used cars from the market- leaving poorer buyers with no options, as just one example.
It artificially upped demand for the short term, with no back up plan for the long term, for another.
It spiked sales of foreign cars, but did nothing for domestic manufacturers, for another.
It was an idiotic, expensive gimmick. Like all of Obama's great economic plans.
And, to Indy Lib- I don't know how independent you actually are, but, face it- you HAD a viable candidate in 2008. You threw her over for someone not fit, nor experienced enough, to follow in her wake. I have never understood why, except to blame the inherent sexism in the democratic party. You seem to have very narrow rules for who may ascend- and Hillary, second term Senator, former "co- president", did not seem to fit the parameters.
I'll never forgive you for that- the amount of devastation you have visited on my country because you elected someone too inexperienced to get a job running a cookie drive as president is unforgivable.
Get used to saying either President Perry or President Romney. It'll choke you- but, so what? Then, get your house in order, and please leave the idiotic ideologues outside of the area where decisions are made.
We've actually suffered enough at your hands.
Surreal but no dice NoJo. I have no control over who the dems pick as their candidate. I was one of those who voted to have Cynthia McKinney represent the Green Party, however.
Perrys right. The contrast is there right in front of our faces. Sanity versus insanity.
No jo, how exactly, did cash for clunkers remove used cars from the market? Didn't it give tax breaks for buying new cars? What do you think happened to the old ones?
"we don't need a nominee who is going to blur the differences between himself and Barack Obama. We're going to have a nominee who draws a clear contrast."
Perry's statement makes sense, look at recent history.
The milktoast moderate establishment Republican nominees McCain and Bob Dole lost, and mushy moderates George HW Bush and Gerald Ford were thrown out of office.
The supposedly unelectable far "right wing cowboy' religious conservatives Reagan and George W Bush each won ; W won two terms, and Reagan arguably won 3, as HW was elected running on Reaganism in 1988.
When it is straight up conservative v liberal, since 1964 the conservative wins every time.
Dont muddle up the differences...
Bob-
I don't disagree with you much.
But, Dubya wasn't a conservative in the sense that Reagan was.
Hardly.
Dubya was lucky enough to be able to run against unabashed liberals Gore and Kerry, and was able to draw a clear contrast.
True, I think Reagan as a conservative was over played. As many of his policies that gave the appearance of conservatism he grew the deficit and federal government...
Goldwater couldn't even pass the "purity test." Especially with the religious zealots in the Teapublican Party now.
If you look at the Goldwater sense of the word conservative, today's Republicans are anything but. Actually, today's Republicans would be either called reactionary or radical, using terminology from Goldwater's time.
Bob:
It is difficult for me to get a good read of what exactly straight up conservative is. Is Gov Perry? Is Ms Palin? Is Ms Bachmann? Of all the possible Rep candidates, who would you say is the best example of "straight up conservative?"
Heck, I'm wondering who the liberal candidate is. As far as I know, Obama will be on the dem ticket again.
Indy, you are on Planet Moonbat, if you dont think Obama is a leftist, especially on the economy.
Quick Bob, name one leftist thing Obama has done. We on Planet Moonbat are curious.
Probably Bachmann, but they are all corporatists, including president Obama... Conservatism is more ideology than practise anymore. The same can be said about liberalism, just ask Bill Clinton. By the time his terms ended no one could claim he was a liberal or many of his policies for that matter... I think president Obama went in as a centrist based on what he knew about Clinton's presidency. The difference is Clinton was pushed to the right, Obama started off there and ended up as a pragmatist - as they all do... However, my fears about the republican candidates is that they are all ideoloical zealouts and with the tea party calling the shots (as well as Grover Norquist) they will be less inclined to be pragmatists and govern in the center where the majority of country tends to be.
Well, Indy, start with buying a controlling interest in both Chrysler and GM. The taxpayers are on the hook for about $25 billion in losses from that- as they are able to write off the loans made pre- government controlled bankruptcy.
Spare me"we had to save the car industry!"
Ford backed away foe the "deal", and the attached strings, and is doing nicely, thank you very much. The secured bondholders of Chrysler and Gm- primarily teachers', police, and firefighters' pensions plans? Not so much.
Let's move on to cash for clunkers. If there was ever an ill advised plan that cost billions, that was it. Oh, it artificially stimulated demand, okay- for a short period- but it was motley for foreign owned vehicles, and it had the added "benefit" of removing inexpensive used cars from the market- hurting low income buyers.
Although I'm sure you don't want to, let's move on to the stimulous. Great plan- give billions of tax dollars to Obama donors- like Solyndra, (just went bankrupt, leaving us on the hook for $535 million in loans), or Evergreen, (another hake a billion in loans we're on the hook for- but, to add insult to injury, they're moving their manufacturing to China), among others.
Then, there is half a billion to Steve Westly, for Tesla. You buying a $57,000 electric car? No? How about that sweet $7500 tax credit you can claim? No? But you'll be happy to take the free golf cart? Lots of people agree with you there.
Then, there's the other big donor who got billions to build charging stations all over the country. Seen any? Me, neither.
How about the shovel ready jobs Obama now jokes don't exist? Or rebuilding the schools? He wants more money for that- even though it was supposed to be included in the first $840 billion stimulous. Supposedly, we've forgotten that. Earth to Obama- we haven't.
Let's talk regulations. Obama is giddy with them. So, he yanks back one that will cot the moat- the ozone regs- but, and this is key- only until 2013.
He didn't do anything Bush didn't before when it comes to transferring our wealth to corporations that made bad decisions (and no I don't think that makes it right). Face it, both of your precious major parties are bought and paid for by the corporations and the MIC. They pretend just enough difference to keep you guys at each other's throats while they rob us blind.
Sorry- cut myself off.
All in all, regulatory agencies have increased 13% under Obama- not a good figure for creating jobs.
But, there are green jobs, right? Well, in addition to the aforementioned crony payoffs, which cost the taxpayers, but do not produce jobs, perhaps Obama should have read this
http://www.ncpa.org/pub/ba702
So, each "green" job costs the govern, net almost three quarters of a million dollars- and, by the way, removes two from the economy. Sounds like a great plan- if you want to destroy the econo y.
This is the tip of the proverbial iceberg. For the record, I don't think Obama set out, deliberately, to destroy the country. I think he is an ideologue, more suited to the classroom than the real world.
There, the only harm he does is to young minds which have to forget the idiocy implanted therein, to be able to function in reality.
As president? He. Ould not help but fail. He has no clue why, and no clue how to succeed.
That's your fault. You should have backed Hillary. We'd have been far better off. All of us.
Read my reply to you above in 6.13. I'm not a dem. I have no say in who they nominate.
Independent in Illinois - I'd say if you are looking for the "straight up conservative" among these GOP candidates, you'd have to pick Ron Paul.
The biggest counter argument for that is Ron Paul doesn't talk about incremental change from here to where he wants to go (which has always been one of my criticism of the Libertarian Party). Conservative is a demeanor as well as a philosophy, and includes a penchant for first doing no harm. Look, twice, before making even a short leap. In that sense, radical fixes intended to pursue conservatism arguably aren't conservative.
Right, Indy lib, and I'm the queen of France.
Gee, Mixed Bag gets me, bob-1805 gets me. NoJo, hopeless case there. Oh well, some conservatives aren't as smart as others I guess.
You're confused.
Mixed Bag and bob are NI ER than I.
They get you, okay- they just let you play out your string.
Me? I'm not that patient.
My tolerance for idiots is undermined only by my tolerance for liars.
NoJo, read the following and you may finally get me.

Except when the idiots and liars support YOUR ideals, RIGHT? Then you're all over it.
And when shown to be wrong, you run to another vine like your tits are on fire.
Give us a break and spare us from the "holier than thou" bull@!$%#.
Thanks Mickey!
The funniest part is, NJNB has been repeatedly proven to be the BIGGEST liar on First Read!
For her to be whining about tolerance & liars is ROTFLMAO funny when WE have to tolerate her lies daily!
She is one of only a handful who have EVER been called out by the moderators for her blatent BS!
Quite the honor? Wouldn't you say? lol
[She is one of only a handful who have EVER been called out by the moderators for her blatent BS!]
Well, isn't that special...seems all hope is lost when moderators call you on your crap.
What I find do funny (and equally alarming) is that for the blatant president-haters that post here it's not about Administration policy anymore, but about attacking the president on some personal level.
It's become a perversion with these people. I hope they are seeking psychological help for their illness. I hope their psychotherapist gives them some sound advice along the lines of:
Be very careful what you ask for...you just may get it.
...then what...then who are they going to blame things on.
If they think the Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives were hard on Bush, they better put their helmets on, sit down, and strap their asses in, because iot ain't gonna be pretty.

The ACA is one, Indy.
And, honestly (and I'm an Ultra liberal) - If Obama appears to have failed the progressives (thus far), then maybe the 37% that showed up at the 2010 elections made the left look like a wet sack.
Crash course on the phony “two party paradigm” and “media created tea party”
The media blackout of Ron Paul while bolstering other candidates illustrates nicely the two great modern schemes operating in American politics facilitated by the mainstream media – those being: the phony “two party paradigm” and the creation of the phony GOP “tea party”. First, the concept of a modern “tea party” came on board with the Ron Paul supporters back in 2007 during the campaign. Actual pounds of tea were to be dropped by a hovering blimp into Boston Harbor on the historic day of the original Boston tea party against British tyranny as a gesture of defiance to the status quo (lost of civil liberties; unending illegal wars; nation building; destruction of our currency; torture and extraordinary rendition; abuse of civil liberties under the bogus Patriot Act etc.). Party affiliation, national origin, race etc. wasn’t important – all were welcomed - only a love of liberty and a willingness to fight for it and hence among those veterans the movement is rarely regarded as “tea party” but instead the “liberty” or “freedom” movement and it is definitely not GOP or PERRY or Bachmann!!
In 2008 when the “dynamic duo” - McCain and his side kick - Palin got their bloodied grinded behinds handed back to them by Obama. This is exactly what the mainstream media had orchestrated for the previous year – and the rank and file GOP voters predictably bought it – they bought media served “stooge of the day” McCain and side kick hook line and sinker! I invite you to research progressive AP reporter Liz Soldoti’s coverage of McCain 2008 and see how she systematically built him up “straight talk express” to become the GOP front runner – the MSM knowing he was hopeless and would get creamed by Obama!
Immediately after the election in an attempt to do damage control the RNC/GOP and right leaning media embraced “tea party” to co-opt the movement for the progressive neo-cons – enter the right media ala FOX and the likes of social controlling neo-con personalities such as Rush Limbaugh; Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. The left media, MSNBC etc. and their social controlling components: Keith Obermann; Chris Mathews and Rachel Maddow in an effort to maintain and reinforce the phony two party paradigm immediately hyped them “racists” and “secessionists” nut jobs stressing the “tea party” as against newly elected President Obama primarily because he was black!
Hence: the term “tea party” as currently hyped in the media is a creation of the mainstream media and simply equates to good old American progressive “neo-con”! The concept of “tea party” they propagate is a primary tool currently used to continue the “two party paradigm”. Anyone uninformed enough to buy in is being seriously played and hasn’t taken the effort to analyze the actual facts – just taking the media’s word for it like a good little boy or girl and maintain the “status quo”.
Allow me to go a little Taoist on you – the “real” tea party you hear about is not the “REAL” tea party!
Strange as it may seem, there is actually little socio-economic and political ideological difference between – lets say, MSNBC and FOX – only the illusion of one! Both the (so – called) right and left factions of American mainstream media are all globalists - wanting to maintain and expand American empire with all their corporate owners having direct BOD relationships with the giants in the military industrial complex such as: GE; Texaco; Chevron; Boeing; Lockheed Martin; Citigroup; Rockwell Automation; Chase, WorldCom, and JP Morgan; Halliburton, etc. and thereby financially benefit directly from the ongoing nation building and entrenched foreign occupations.
So the mainstream media as a whole created the current “tea party” as is hyped today, to attempt to contain and control the actual legitimate “liberty movement” (being the actual REAL “tea party” started by Ron Paul supporters in 2007) – it being a threat to the status quo and use the phony “two party paradigm” to help them do it. This is the illusion of two different parties counter balancing one another – please don’t say you can’t remember recently this spring when republican Senator McCain and democrat Senator Kerry went arm in arm bellowing for illegal war with Libya? Do you not find it is strange that Obama never changed Bush/Cheney policies regarding: torture; bailouts; WARS; Patriot Act and lost of civil liberties and abuse of American citizenry. Exactly - both parties want huge intrusive central authority – its just one side prefers to balloon the size of government with aggressive warfare and less social welfare and vice-versa. Americans are spoon fed the “two party paradigm” as a controlling device through the lame-stream media – that’s why globalist neo-cons like Bachmann and Perry are being hyped as “tea party” and that is why they are desperately trying to co-opt many of Ron Paul’s life-long political positions on things, such as: auditing the Federal Reserve.
For years have you scratched your head wondering - why are our representatives in DC doing this? Are they trying to destroy America? Unfortunately in a sense – they are. For the globalist in both parties it’s not about gaining a secure and prosperous American Republic; upholding liberty maintaining the supreme law of the land – the U.S. Constitution. It is totally about maintaining an economic empire for a select group of oligarchs using the American military - our blood and treasure! It’s about redistributing American wealth and technology and building “emerging” economies in China and India etc while de-industrializing America! It’s about destroying our education system with federal control so that our young people test dismally against students in the rest of the world in science and math! It’s about defending borders overseas while leaving our southern border in the USA open allowing for abuses of American citizens. We could go on and on about the mistreatment Americans suffer at the hands of a rogue government! However, you and I both know that throughout the process of the dismantling of America, the mainstream media tells you “its okay – remember back in 2008 when they spoon-fed us “don’t worry either top tier candidate, Obama or McCain will get us on track”!
Yeah right! We know how that worked out!
The media is currently working overtime to convince voters that the candidates like Romney; Bachmann and Perry are significantly different than President Obama – this is definitely pure BS! All the 2012 candidates running in both parties EXCEPT RON PAUL are deep in the pocket of international banking and the military industrial complex! This corrupt system needs to keep bailing out criminals and keep this bogus war on terror going and ramped up bombing and saber rattling all awhile keeping the American people placated with the “two party paradigm” allowing for global elites to steal American national wealth and sovereignty! Ron Paul is the only candidate significantly different than Obama and therefore the ONLY ONE capable of beating him on issues that the majority of Americans heavily support (like ending: illegal wars; torture and illegal detention; abolishing the Patriot Act and Federal Reserve; stopping the abuses of the IRS and TSA and getting us
Wow, I love a good radical rant, whether from the left or from the right. My only problem with Ron Paul is that he's now trying to woo social conservatives. Always a red flag with me. But it is amazing how much of your post I do agree with.
Sadly I concur...
He forgot to mention a couple minor things about Ron Paul, such as he wants to end social security and want to cuts taxes even more.
Oh yeah, if your state is in a disaster, you can just fend for yourself, cause Ron Paul wants to end FEMA.
Ron Paul sounds good as long as you leave out the parts that destroys America.
The republican tea party wants to take us back to when the constitution was written and we are not that country anymore we have evolved and don't wish to stand around and watch the old die from hunger in the streets.
Dream as you might you are not going to turn the clock back to the 1900's. This smaller government the rich have convinced you we need is only so the robber barons can steal Americas treasures and leave pollution in their wake.
Crash course on the phony “two party paradigm” and “media created tea party” PART: 2

The “establishment” is in a real bind – the media’s “ignore” phase for the “Ron Paul problem” hasn’t worked and the “discredit” phase is now underway. These types of tactics are standard procedure in any third world banana republic to marginalize legitimate opposition to the regime and status quo. They have NO place in a free representative Republic!
So, fellow Americans if by now you haven’t acknowledged that Obama is a corporate puppet you are in serious denial or part of the subversion! If you want things to continue under the rule of the global “banksters’ and “tanksters” – maintain the status quo and allowing tyranny to grow under the phony “two party paradigm” - vote for the spoon- fed media’s "top tier": Obama; Romney; Bachmann; Perry etc., but if want things to truly change and have the assurance that you will have the right to be heard and not silenced then begin to restore America liberty now and support Ron Paul! He can’t be bought – and the establishment knows it! They must use every means available to attempt to marginalize him - hence the blackout, ridicule and smear! Check your states regulations for rules of primary voting and do whatever it takes (you may have to join the Republican Party) so that you can cast your primary vote for Ron Paul.
WE WON’T GET FOOLED AGAIN!
Ron Paul 2012!!!
The problem with Ron Paul is he's too extreme. He's not a republican, he's a libertarian. Too the exteme. He believes in almost no role for government, (The Fed, FEMA, Civil Rights).
Extreme by all standards....the only thing I agree with is he wouldn't be bought....problem is, he'd also never get anything done. In case you haven't noticed a President is almost helpless without congress to pass his agenda.
you mean you are a nazi??
This Perry guy with the 29.00 suits in a bag and the cheap ties ...What is this guy thinking ? He finally got rid of that bad porn hair style.. after i commented on it for a week straight .
I can see this guy on late night TV hawing stake knifes at 3 am ...for 19.95. ..but never in the White house..I am not at all impressed with his psycho babble .. and that never ending religious Jesus freak babble the GOP seems to spew ... and the fact that Perry seems to think the voice in his head was God ?This man is truly demented !
What's with the collapsing posts? Come on folks, this is the weekend crowd, we're cooler than this nonsense.
The republicans are upset all they have is Perry ....the used car salesman ...
This 2011. Let`s see what happens in 2012. These Republicans offer too much contrast.
"If you could be one superhero, who would it be?" he asked the 3-term Texas governor.
"I don't know of the real current heroes, but there was one back in my day, Superman," Perry replied. "Superman came to save the United States!"
Hate to break it to you, Guv, but Superman is an ILLEGAL ALIEN! He can't produce a birth certificate, he never served in the military and (as Clark Kent) he works for the "lamestream media!"
(Yeah, I know...Superman is a fictional character whose abilities defy logic...but so is Governor Perry)
The nation's most expensive public school ever built in Los Angeles.
The Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools, a K-12 complex built on 23 acres of land, cost $578 million to build. with 4,200 students, construction cost about $130,000 per pupil.
So, what exactly is included in that hefty price tag? An auditorium modeled after the famous Coconut Grove nightclub, a state-of-the-art swimming pool, marble memorial for Robert Kennedy and talking benches. Just a few of the schools upscale features.
Our government sucks up any additional revenue, and promptly spends it on their pet projects.
The fact is, they wont change, they dont want to change. Give them more money, and I promise you, its already spent.
Please, $578 million spent on a school. I would love to see the accounting of this.

Yes Darrel Segars,
I went to a Tea Party rally in my city, and it was very low key, and civilized. The main theme seemed to be to stop the insane spending, and reduce the size of the Federal Government.
I didn't see anything racist in the whole crowd. Very well behaved group of about seven thousand.
"GOP needs a nominee who is a 'clear contrast' from Obama"
