You can blame the Republicans, but Obama is only doing enough to get re-elected. He had 2 years with control of Congress and could not pass the legislation he now wants the GOP to pass. The fact is he thought he had a free hand to spend on whatever and the recession woukd take car of itself. This is what happens when you surround yourself with idealists.

As to the change in the speech date, I believe Obama intentionally set up that confrontation, as part of his "poor me" agenda.

What does it say? Boehner and the Republicans will still engage in continuous obstructionism, even petty items, to ensure Obama and our country fail so they might resume total power of Congress and the Executive Office.

The greatest achievements of people anywhere at any time in the world are done by people who are happy engage in the task at hand and seeing that their work no matter the hardship is going to an achievable purpose.

So it is possible see that for people to be engaged and working their hardest means simply that their ideas suggestions are used to make that task achievable.

Putting an impossible task before the wary population, or asking so little as to look ridiculous are not listed ways to achieve goal of any magnitude.

Any organization large enough to screwing a light bulb, has a certain amount of ordinary hierarchical leadership who rose to those positions based on skills and interest they had, as well as not having other the skills needed to perform the task. Right there we can see a conflict with the real world success. It is attitude, we as underlings, know and respect the value of having a good manager, and accept the higher status and office trimmings. Why is this necessary, it is because we want a good manager so that we can delegate problem upward, but more than that is because we need to see that our ideas when they have merit will improve the work being done, see it performed at a higher quality, see it progress faster and further and finally celebrate a job well done.

Just in case you haven’t noticed few to no organization succeeding when the plan that comes down from the top does not improve when the feedback from the bottom does not arrive in welcoming ears.

Now look real hard at the detailed plans presented by the opposition, you do not see a thing.

Does the plan look like it could be made to work?

If the plan is empty of details, devoid of meaning and thin enough to read a newspaper through it then who is going to be engaged to make it work?

If the hardships look like they can be overcome, the missing information guessed from reading tea leaves, the plan has no future or may be called all-future.

If the plan has no achievable goals, no means to reach those goals, no steps to taken, no credible path to success, it is not going to carry water.

We the people had better understand that after century of growth we are habituated to managing under growing conditions, and have no experience in managing hard times, slack times or times of decline. Just little more knowledge of history and we know the decline is fatal.

Yet the same history does not have follow ancient wisdom, just as nothing was impossible in the last century.

This is what is going to happen leadership is so interested in becoming the token empty head of state. The followship is going to refuse to do what is unworthy and what is impossible. If you cannot understand what is said here go back and read the sentences again.

Congress is totally to blame for the mess we are in. They are the ones who pass bills and make the laws that put us in the trouble that we're going though. Politicians have been screwing the American people for years and are only interested in themselves. We have two senators from New Jersey who don't know how to get our government to send some money back to our state because they are only interested in their own priorities.

What in the world can anyone expect when a Marxist President is elected?

It is my opinion, The Republican stance is to remove a black man from the White House at any cost. The K.K.K. beliefs are alive and well in Washington. They are putting a gun to the head of every unemployed person, those that can not afford food, and those that lost their homes, to vote against Obama. Their wants leave out what is best for the country, their only wants, are those to whom they owe alliance to, from and for contributions. The speaker of the house is not going to give up his trips to Naples FL. for his golf games, who paid for those 80,000 dollar trips, to play golf? It sure was not some one out of work, hungry, homeless person for sure. And it was not because he is such a nice guy I am sure, loll. There are congress people on both sides of the hill that should not be there, and just because the public made a mistake putting those there, that control our lives, for the betterment of theirs, do not need to be there next time. The public must wake up and make some difficult decisions on whom they want to represent them, I say them, the people, not for making a politician rich, but for America. It is time to dig deep in facts and our thoughts and find out exactly what each person in Congress and those running for office, no matter if a city councilman or whatever, are they going to see that the country is run for the people, and not for the politician. It is time to take, and give this country back to the people, all the people, not just the more fortunate ones.

The biggest problem this country face is it's defense and security. If the American people vote another Tea/Republican back into office, this nation will suffer catastrophic failure because the Tea/Re-pubs believe in boots on the ground, and will support big business selling wars overseas and their greed to control all of the oil in the world, to include those countries who have it. The President has done and excellent job of prosecuting the Terrorist wars, and slowly bring the troops home from the wars started by the former Republican President and his henchmen. Yes the economy is broke. But so is all the economies of every nation in the world, except China who loan the money to our Republican leaders to conduct the failing wars of Iraq and Afghanistan. You people who want to support another Republican take over of this government better look around you and realize if the people or majority is hurting then it will eventually get to you. We have just saw the first time that no American ground forces have died on the ground fighting the republican wars of the past. The next generation of high school and college student will probably live to see their son's and daughter's not have to fight in unnecessary and costly wars in the future. I don't think this young President is a coward or is weak as the Tea/Re-pubs and many of the arm chair and couch potato media is trying to portray him. He had O sama Bin Laden killed, got rid of the next top terrorist dictator, El Qaddafi, is reorganizing and directing the rebuilding of a special operation army to fight the USA future global conflicts, and is re writing the book on protracted wars and high tech warfare. Look at all the republican candidates and pick one except John Huntsman who would not stay the course in a failing system set up by the former Republican administration. The Tea/Re-pubs have many of you people so focused on the economy that you have tunnel vision and can't see the bigger picture. I am and independent and wish that every man and woman in this country would cast off your political pledge to these no good political parties and candidates so that we can get some real good people in office to solve the American problems like the economy. I think we all better listen to the CEO of Starbucks, and over 100 other business leaders supporting him, who are trying to get the big campaign contributors to stop supporting party politics over the American agenda. No I don't think this President is afraid, or is backing down to the Tea/Re-pubs, but is trying to mediate with them because if they were terrorist leaders, or foreign wars, we know what he would do to them. Boehner is acting like a spoiled child who unfortunately through temper tantrums gets his way. I am tired of the repubs willing to send the whole country down the drain just so that they can "win". Dinklestein..The unemployment rate is high because our President is an idiot.  For 2 YEARS, this loser had control of both houses and failed to do ANYHTHING but make matters worse.  Now that he has lost congress (thank you God), he blames it on Republicans!  What about the 2 years when he could have shown some leadership and done something.  Oh, thats right, he did concentrate on his golf game.

There is more that we do not know than we do know with this video. Ya, it's fun to jump to conclusions and pontificate on the law....... Force, including deadly, can be used to protect life, period. That is the law in California. Currently, in California, force can be used to detain an individual if there is demonstrated threat to life. This applies to all, peace officer, or not. The only exception applies to peace officers taking some one into custody, which has a miramid of procedures too! Clearly, the error in action exists on all involved. If there was any real maturity in our society, Sargent Pepper and AlKee Gump should meet at some point, admit there mutual wrong doing and shake hands. Of course, the idiots who stand on "principal", or the "fools" who worship money would never let this one go. What a shame, is life really so "bad", or do we need to act so "bad" so as to have this type of behavior at Disneyland? Also, the training Sargent Pepper recieved clearly was not visible in the video, I can not beleive his actions were within accepted SOP's of the Resort. He acted on his own for over 2 minutes before utilizing his radio and calling his communication center to let other security officers and management know what was going on.
