Im hoping that one day we will all unite and vote out ..."All of the incumbents" in Washington!"

Obama has no plan, no course of action, and no real solutions. He simply has emtpy words and hope. Government will not get us out of this mess, unless they relax regulations and restrictions on private enterprises. Government to this point has only made the situation worse with rising debt, rising prices, inflation, recession...... This is the Obama change we feared!

Somewhere here I believe that there will be a semi-consensus because too many people are suffering. The GOP cannot forever ignore their REAL constituents and expect to win an election. We saw in Wisconsin that monies from big donors (i.e. Koch brothers) can take a candidate so far and then the real issues being experienced by the voters will come through. Eric Cantor was even chastised by members of his own party when he associated disaster funds to budget cutting. There are too many people unemployed and under water with their homes that are not willing to wait until after the 2012 election to get relief. The mainstream media seems to enjoy this disagreement between the two parties but the American people have had enough.

I have had enough of the political bickering... what ever happened to being American and working together??

It may sound naive but it just wasn't that long ago that at least somewhat rational compromises were made!

Common sense is right out the window... people don't vote but can whine and tweet all day, this nation has totally forgotten that those morons work for us. We can actually fire them!

          Boehner just sickens me....

Once again, this clueless President is playing political games and is so far removed from the American working people (not his warefare or union or illegal immigrant base) that the only ideas that he can come up with is divide our nation and spend us into poverty. How's that CHANGE working for all of you that voted for this airhead as well as the Reid and Pelosi radicals?????

O'Bama has performed so poorly that he is trying every desperate measure he and his "team" can come up with in an effort to discredit Republicans, place blame on his screw ups on President Bush, and create a diversion from the reality of his inability to lead. His lack of capabillity - which translates to a lack of success = the fact that Jimmy Carter is going to be considered a genius as a leader! Attempting to coerce the Republican candidates to reschedule their debate is another example of how a rookie attempts to operate-it Ain't 'Gonna Fly !

Sad to say the House (Re/Tea)publicans are driving the bus. The tail is wagging the dog. We have gridlock to look forward to through next year's election. There's probably no limit to how low we can go as a country.

Obama, needs to understand that the people are tried of all of this mess and someone has got to stop all this spending. The average Guy can only afford so much. Obama just does not understand this, and that because he has never had a job.

Republican crudity and partisanship has hit a new low under Boehner. Never before in the 234 year history of the United States has federal protocol been violated when it comes to the United States Presidency. The American President has always asked for and gotten compliance when requesting a joint session of Congress, no matter what else was going on.

The President was to address Congress immediately on their return to stress the dire need and methods for job creation, most of them completely bipartisan and proven in past recessions. Once again President Obama has been the adult, not mentioning the effrontery and agreeing to postpone his address until September 8, opposite the NFL season opening game. The NFL has not demanded a postponement until Friday, September 9. The evening of Sept. 7th will feature Rick Perry and a preseason Republican primary debate over a year before the 2012 election. It was deemed by Republicans more important than the Presidency and historic deference to the highest office in American government.

First the failure to traditionally raise the debt ceiling, especially in a time of war and now the debasement of the office of President of the United States. Imagine what would have happened if Nancy Pelosi had pulled such a stunt when Bush asked to speak to a joint session of Congress regarding Iraq or refused to honor the requested date for the State of the Union address.

December 21, 2012 is starting to look O SO REAL. I didn't believe it before, and now it looks like this country is coming apart. We the people can not take much more of this bull @!$%#. This government isn't going to help us.

The democrat party ideologues will continue down the same road that has led us nowhere toward recovery and the fawning news media will continue with their head in the sand. I hope the GOP continues to fight for our country's best interests.

I've heard the word treason coming out the GOP's mouth in relation to Paul Bernanke, but in my view, the republican crowd adding roadblocks to every attempt of our financial recovery is the one that should be watched closely. I cannot find a better word explain undermining the welfare of their own people.

Nothing will happen until Obama is sent into early retirement in 2012 to live off of the government as a ward of the state for the rest of his natural life....at OUR expense....whatta guy!

the idea of speaking to a Joint session is foolish as the plan will be a non starter-Obama is locked in his ideology-the entire affair broadcasts once again his leadership shortcomings and inexperience-puts the Republican House in a difficult position-no win either way, so why not take a strong position against his amateurish political ploy? choosing between Obama and the largely empty suits in Republican parade, combined with completely ineffective Congress does not give much hope for a better future
