Subscribe to RSSTULSA, Okla. -- Sen. Jim Inhofe, a strident conservative voice in the Senate and a vocal skeptic of global warming, formally endorsed Gov. Rick Perry on Monday, calling him "the only guy who can really win this thing."
"The one thing that he has that nobody else has is this background of experience, not just him being an administrator but doing the right thing, cutting down the deficit, increasing jobs. And he's done everything right," Inhofe said, adding, "No one out there running is as aware as to the cost of all the overregulation that we're experiencing right now."
Answering questions after brief remarks, Perry told reporters that the national debt should be addressed by the elimination of federal regulations on the energy industry, which would create jobs and wealth previously unseen in the American economy.
"Just in the energy industry alone, if you remove the boot of regulation that this administration has taken to a new level in this country, the job creation that will occur will be phenomenal. It, singularly, by freeing up these entrepreneurs will create wealth like we have never seen in this country before. And that wealth will pay off that debt."
He repeated his goals of tort reform, spending cuts, and low taxes, saying, "You won't have stimulus programs under President Perry. You won't spend all the money."
Perry also reiterated his critique of the federal government's enforcement of border security, saying that debate over individual immigration laws neglects the massive problem of a porous border.
"You can talk immigration til you're blue in the face, this reform or that reform, passing this law," he said. "But none of it matters, none of it, until we secure our border with Mexico."
Perry's comments on immigration came in response to a question about his previous statements that a hardline Arizona-style immigration law -- as written in the legislation signed by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer in 2010, would not be right for Texas.
"I supported an Arizona-type law, but all of that law I did not support," he said. "For instance, turning our law enforcement officers in Texas into immigration [officers]. And I'm on the record pretty good with that. I understand combing through my record and trying to see an inconsistency here and there. That's fine, I know y'all have to have something to do."

The problem with "clean energy" agendas is they are job killing. We should phase in slowly a clean energy plan without cutting off oil. We should give incentives for "cleaner" and more fuel efficient vehicles. Instead, the price is prohibitive. Why not make electric cars and hybrids cheaper, not more expensive ?
So, the manufacture, sales, delivery, installation, and maintenance of clean energy equipment kills jobs.
The mining and burning of fossil fuels kills people.
If you worked for an oil co. , you'd be the first to complain that you were losing your job. This "clean energy" issue should be made cheaper to transition to , not more expensive. The American people are just getting by now.
The demand for the remaining oil isn't likely to go down, so long as population growth, especially in ASIA, continues. Green projects are net job growers, not job killers.

We can thank our luck stars Imhofe did not endorse Michelle Bahmann. But he's always been anti-woman any way so thisis par for the course.
Perry appointed theTexas School Baod member that wanted to re-write textbooks to deny slavery and global Warming-whac are dear to Imhofe's heart. It was Imohofe ina Senate speech who denied Golbal Warming anf lodding saying "theR ainbow was God's symbol that floding would never happen agian" and used that as pretext for defeating Global warming intitatives under Bush and Obama .
The jury is still out onwhere Rick Perry stands on eveloution-and if he believes in science at all.
It is interesting that Imhofe's endorsement come ona daywhen Oklahoma has beencited as the top states for divoce in the nation -a far cry from the "family vaues" Imhofe supports.

I am not the biggest Perry fan, truth be told, but the man is the Govenor of a state (not an easy ladder to climb) and I doubt he's "dumb". The liberal media doesn't know what else to say about him because he has a good record , so they use that because they want people to compare him to "brilliant" Obama. We are already over the "Obama is so brilliant" thing. It got us nowhere.

The RE-peat-the-lie-to-the-PUBLIC-ans watered down or blocked, through the use of the fake filibuster in the Senate, every piece of legislation the democrats and President suggested would be of benefit to the majority of the populace of this country. Obama has provided them with all the rope he needs for them to possess, as baggage, to have hanged themselves in the next election.

( i.e. 9.2% unemployment, 3 wars, open borders, $14+ trillion debt, s&p downgrade, etc. Ooops !! I almost forgot.....we have the 1st President in history who has "illegals" for relatives )
