BERLIN, NH -- At his only campaign stop of the day -- at a steel plant here -- Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney criticized President Obama's upcoming plan to boost the economy and reduce the deficit. Obama will deliver that plan after Labor Day.
"I hope he begins by recognizing that his plan three years ago hasn't worked." Romney told a small gathering of reporters here. "It's too little too late, but we appreciate the fact that he's going to devote some time to it. Not just going to be on the bus tour, not just going to be vacationing in Martha's Vineyard, but giving some thought to the American people."
He also was asked about the rumors that the presidential field may expand yet again if House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan were to run. Romney's response: "The more the merrier," adding later: "The water's fine."
In addition, Romney was asked about Texas Gov. Rick Perry's controversial comments about Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, and Romney declined to criticize him.
"I'm not looking to be in a give-and-take with Gov. Perry. He's expressing his views. I express my views and my record."
Romney continued, "He's a fine guy, fine governor. We'll get a chance to debate, and we can probably have a good chance for contrasting views at that point. But I don't have anything new on the Fed for you today."

There you go Mittens: Criticizing something you haven't seen or know nothing about. Please, someone tell him the speech will be given after Labor day.
Mitt and Rick will be at each other soon enough and ignore Bachmann because they figure she "can't win". And because of that she will win. She'll get the Tea Party and lots of sympathy votes from Republican women tired of men belittling or ignoring her. Looking at Bachmann and Perry I see the same ignorance factor, yet he is considered a viable candidate? Yes my friends, Bachmann will win the Republican nomination and Obama will be reelected in 2012.
It won't matter what it says, so why does it matter when he starts to criticize it?
The criticism will ring hollow, anyway, unless he comes up with some solid "plan" of his own.
The scion of Bain Capital and Governor #47 job creator ought to be able to come up a DOOZIE of a job creation plan, doncha think?
So Willard has suddenly acquired physic abilities? lol
At least he's not sitting on the fence like he did with the debt ceiling debacle!
Anna Molly

Why yes I do Anna Molly. There is a Dozzie forthcoming. Fall Out Boy will trip all over his own two feet the next time he flips.
You're Welcome for the supporting information I gave about Alec in Wisconsin; they are not just in Wisconsin they are everywhere. We need to expose them just like we are doing the Koch Brothers .
Through ALEC, Global Corporations Are Scheming to Rewrite YOUR Rights and Boost THEIR Revenue
Through the corporate-funded American Legislative Exchange Council, global corporations and state politicians vote behind closed doors to try to rewrite state laws that govern your rights. These so-called "model bills" reach into almost every area of American life and often directly benefit huge corporations. Through ALEC, corporations have "a VOICE and a VOTE" on specific changes to the law that are then proposed in your state.

That's rich, Romney criticizing President Obama for spending his vacation on Martha's Vineyard, while Romney spent the Vietnam War years in Paris.
Mittens, Obama already saved the economy e.g the auto industries revival you wanted to lay claim to while opposing the rational behind the government assistance to them..........we can't forget "government motor" as you claimed.
OUCH! The truth has to hurt the Liberal Progressive's little brains. I wonder if his "plan" will be designed under the same framework that his vaunted budget that went down 0-97 in the Senate? I'm sure our Confabulator in Chief will have a grand party on Labor Day also to celebrate the criminality that the unions have become.
Perhaps Barrack Hussein will finally listen to the Sarkozy and Merkel recommendations and stop his ridiculous deficit spending. And while he's at it maybe he'll take note of their position to create balanced budget amendments to the EU fiscal policies. These would be new concepts.
Oh wait, isn't that what the Republican's proposed with "Cut, Cap and Balance"?
Hmmmmmm, I think the Democrat's response to that, and ALL the Republican proposals, was "DOA" or "veto" or "table it". Such compromise can only result in our eventual collapse. But that has been Barrack Husseins goal in his "fundamental transformation" of America anyway.
You gotta love the absolute and fulminant incompetence of this embarrassment of a president and his mindless lemmings in Congress.
I'm sure Barrack Hussein will reveal his new grand proposal to us and the "Super Committee" that will be another useless talking point for the media. Why would he listen to ANOTHER committee when he hasn't listened to any of his other committee's, Debt Commissions or Gang's of Six?
America's decline is being exposed on the global stage as our inexperienced and incompetent president struggles through a "historic" failure in domestic and foreign policy. Yet the Liberal Progressives show no shame whatsoever.
ABO (Anybody But Obama) 2012
My thought exactly. It's the same crap we have been dealing with for 3.5 years.
It make absolutely no difference what type of plan Obama comes up with. The Teapublicans announced 3.5 years ago that they will never allow this President to pass any laws. Their strategy is to deny, delay and do nothing. So far, these snakes have kept their word.
http://www.theonion.com/articles/new-gop-strategy-involves-reelecting-obama-making,21113/
Obama, after riding around in his Canadian built bus, is going to the Vineyard to hobnob with the rich at a time of economic disaster.
This has nothing whatsoever to do with where Romney spent the Vietnam war years.
Know what does? Clinton spending those same years in England.
The American electorate proved how important that was to them when they elected him over not one, but two, decorated war heroes.
In other words, it's a lame argument.
GIVE IT A REST!
President Obama DID NOT pick up the phone and order it himself and YOU KNOW IT!
The busses were ordered by the Secret Service who are in CHARGE of security!
If you plan on running with this nontroversy for weeks on end like you did with your Mumbai bull@!$%# - be warned you're in for a rough ride!
You sure have some nerve...
I have a question, WHY WAIT?
People without jobs needs to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, to ask them to wait until September is cruel and very selfish.
They are reporting parts of the plan will include more relief for long term unemployment. Yea, that's encouraging.
Don't worry Mitt. There will be plenty of time to take about you record. Sometimes the past can come back and bit you. We all remember Bain Capital.
Perry is in and conservatives still find the Republican field of candidates "unsatisfactory." Try as they may to get Christie, or Daniels, or Paul Ryan, or Marco Rubio to throw their hats in the ring, they will still find the Republican field of candidates "unsatisfactory." Because each one has baggage, most of all Paul Ryan. After the NY 26th district election, why would anyone want Ryanhood who steals from the elderly to give to the rich to run?!
Christie is too smart to waste his time and money, right along with Barbour and others who have declined. And WTF with Giuliani? He shoots his mouth off all the time as if anyone sees him as a credible source let alone candidate. The more he shoots his mouth off, the less people will like him.
Aside from lacking good candidates, what the Grand Obstructionist Party needs to do is get a good platform. Hint -- Saying 'No' to everything is NOT a platform.
And obsessing with petty things like vacations or a birthday party or where a bus was made--That won't get the GOP/TP anywhere either. Enough already! We know you all shop at Wal-Mart, so STFU.
TruePatriot-445959
Hmmmm, cute.
Is that anything like the DOAcrats?
Or maybe the VETOcrats is more apropos?
How about TableIt Progressives?
Hypocrite!
First, they're never going to criticize each other in a meaningful way. Not the way the Republicans play politics. Now, the Democrats tear each other apart leaving plenty of meat for the GOP candidate to chew on for the general election.
Second, yes, it's late, very late but after Labor Day we see it. I must have missed Mitt's plan to improve the economy and create jobs. Is he going to issue a policy statement or just talk around it till he's forced to say something like this is what I will do...not I have business experience and criticize. Easy to criticize. Offer an idea at least besides cut taxes and the job creators will fix this all for us.
Just stopping President Obama's job killing policies will be a major improvement.
And what policies are those, exactly?
He'll let you know when he decides...not that it won't change eventually anyway.
Dan G.-461155
Curious..just what are those job killing policies?
Get specific for me will you.
Were those the ones that saved the 3 million jobs after he came into office. You know the auto industry, their suppliers and contractors.
The bailout of the banks that prevented a depression and how many jobs lost?
Aid to states to keep state workers from being laid off.
Let's see..the market was 6500 when he came into office. Nice rebound to about 12000.
How many jobs do you think were created or saved there.
Talk to me about specifics, please and not GOP talking rhetoric that's meant to scare people rather than inform them.
I await your response.
Just stopping President Obama's job killing policies will be a major improvement.
And what policies are those, exactly?
_________________________________
You could start with ClunkerCare which is basically a tax on small business new job creation.
Ill answer for Dan, if You don't mind. . .
Let's begin with the NLRB blocking the opening of a plant in South Carolina that would employ one thousand workers. Those workers, and Boeing, would be generating revenue- instead, the administration opted to engage in a court battle they are sure to lose, which saps money from the Treasury.
Let's move on to pushing Cap and Trade through the backdoor of the EPA on Christmas Eve. This was done because it had no chance whatsoever of getting through the Senate- even with a democratic majority.
Then, we have the EPA lowering ozone standards below the already adopted, but not yet implemented, lower standard. This was done even though these standards were not subject to review for ten years.
The upcoming taxes on medical devices has already cost jobs, as manufacturers are laying off personnel here, and moving their manufacturing to China. This seems to be another case of Obama promising one of his policies will create jobs, ( in this case, HCR), but leaving out the salient point that those jobs will be created in China.
These are but a few of the job killing policies implemented by Obama, who seems to have no clue that just because something looks good on paper, does not mean it will work in reality.
He never blames himself, though. He blames ATMs, airport kiosks, the Japanese tsunami, the Arab spring, Bush, business- everyone and everything but himself.
The strange thing is that so many liberals are still so besotted that they go along with it.
Dan G.-461155
"Just stopping President Obama's job killing policies will be a major improvement"
That's straight from GOP/TP handouts. Try exercising your brain by thinking for yourself......numskull don't.
We elect lawyers or MBA's into office.
Then we wonder why they aren't economic geniuses? Or aren't mathematicians? Or aren't innovators?
Stop electing lawyers.
BTW - Mitt Romney's undergrad is in English, with an MBA. So I don't think he has a great educational background for POTUS either.
We need someone who's degree says B.Sc. or M.S, imho.
People who do things that involve mathematics. Statistics. Scientific method. Pre-planned processes.
So, PEN, no comment on the particulars I gave in answer to the question?
Well, I guess defending the indefensible gets old after a while.
The history books are going to have some pretty interesting things to say about Obama. He'll be the very first president not responsible for anything that happened on his watch, if they go with his narrative.
no joe, no bo, nj
NAA.......your EPA, HCR, Taxes bla bla bla bla am never going to waste my time on that. Those who say government is bad for you are companies taking jobs overseas and the the people who are in government and ready to do anything to keep their government jobs, you know why, government is so good for them but bad for you.
EPA is so good for me because I drive presently, a 320 hp hybrid luxury car that take 24/32 mpg. I save money on gas, help the environment and still get a huge 320 hp. who's not happy with this, the oil company and you know why.
Take a break no joe............government is good and that's why we can communicate right now on internet.
I'm sure if Ben Bernanke came to North Gate for a stop at the Dixie Chicken it would get pretty ugly. Why do some people have trouble handling truthful statements.
What truthful statement and you avoided giving an answer to Ira's question. No wonder Mittens is an evader it must come with the Republican suit.
OMG!! I love the term Mittens. So much nicer than the term I have been using over the years.
Critisizing a plan unseen (to this point) coming from a man who has stayed conspicuously absent throughout any of the decisions facing our country while campaigning for the top job....
Typical wingnut/teanut knee jerk reaction: "it is from Obama so it must be BAD."
Extemely ignorant and would be unacceptable in most other circles of society (which displays the Republican double standard mindset.)
Well, Ted, while I understand your thinking. . .
Suppose you loaned your car to your brother-in-law, he ran a red light, and got into a crash.
The next time you let him use it, he went the wrong way down a one way street, and crashed.
You let him use it again, and he hit a parked car.
Would you be skeptical if he asked to borrow it again? Your experience would be that he was a terrible driver, and crashed your car every single time he drove it- so, would you be terrible for being unwilling to let him use it again?
That's what we have with Obama- and, since he does not accept any blame for the failure of his policies, we know he has not learned from his mistakes.
It's not wrong to be cynical about what he plans to propose. We've heard it all before- but now we're being told that this time, it will be different.
Sorry, I don't buy it.
LMAO, we have nothing like what you described.
It is more like this, you have a car and your brother-in-law asks to borrow it. You say, yes, but he never gets it out of the driveway because by the time he starts the engine, he notes that there are roadblocks that preclude the car from going anywhere, so he asks when the roadblocks will be out of the way and get's told, oh thanks to the American Recovery Act we will be here for at least...the next four years. After that our funding will die and then we will be unemployed due to cuts, cuts, cuts....
No we don't - open your eyes and try coming back to reality (that means getting off the RNC talking point spin and FOX rhetoric so it may be difficult for you.)
What we have with President Obama is a stonewalling, obstructionist, nay-saying, failing America House of Representatives and t-bagger influenced group of Republican legislators more intent on causing this nation and her Head of State problems simply to "insure Obama is a one term President" instead of doing their real job of legislating and getting the nation over hardships.
Oh - AND a bunch of trolls getting on here spewing spin, excuses, talking points and made up justifications in support of that House and that group - repeating illogical and/or untrue sales pitches in hopes of convincing voters NOT to throw them out in 2012.
Please attempt to get the facts correct if you post on here.
So, according to you two-
The Omnibus spending bill of 2009 did not pass? It had 9000 plus earmarks, so I assume that money went somewhere.
The stimulous bill did not pass? I imagined it?
HCR did not pass? I dreamed that?
For two years, Obama got every one of his agenda items implemented- including Cap and Trade, which got implemented through the EPA on Christmas Eve.
Seems to me that if any of this stuff had a prayer of doing any good, it would have worked already.
If Obama had, actually, been thwarted, things would be much better. The debt would not be nearly so high, firms would not be moving their manufacturing off shore in droves, so unemployment would not be so high.
You guys simply cannot accept the truth- Obama is a failure. It is not the fault of Bush, ATms, airport kiosks, the Arab spring, the Japanese tsunami, republicans in congress, or any other person or entity he blames.
The sooner he learns that HE is to blame for his failures, the sooner he will begin to learn from his mistakes.
I'm thinking, though, that at fifty, his thinking is pretty well set, so the odds of his actually doing that are somewhere between nil and null.
I am going to spend the nest year finding the Teapublican's real agenda for the 2012 election.
So far their agenda has been deny, delay and do nothing. No way to contradict this sentament.
The next Proud to be an American agenda is the following:
http://www.theonion.com/articles/new-gop-strategy-involves-reelecting-obama-making,21113/
We should be very proud of our political leaders.
Sort of "kidding on the square" isn't it.
Good. lol
NoJo, You and I completely disagree on why we are in the situation we are. It's NOT the national debt or deficit. is is a stalling economy and lack of jobs for those looking. I am pleased with ACA as a starting point (which was bastardized by GOP amendments, then they still didn't vote for it) I beleive the stimulus worked. Period. I beleive we would have been in a much worse off scenario without it. You disagree, as is your choice.
But to get to the point of my response to you: I mentioned Romney's lack of interaction with today's issues. You responded by not even mentioning, or defending, Romney and attacked Obama.
Romney, who has stayed (in a cowardly fashion) on the sidelines during the largest debates of our time, while campaigning to run the country.
the coward bit may have been a bridge to far on my part, but is does show a lack of conviction(s) on his....If your not going to even attempt to discuss the topic at hand, please don't bother responding to me.
Romney,
Romney's job plan is not going to work because....oh wait! He doesn't have one yet, but I'm sure whatever it is, it'll be a total failure! Trust me! His plan stinks! Oh wait...there I go again...sayin his nonexistent plan stinks when I don't know what it is because he hasn't put one out!
BTW - Dan G.-461155, who wrote:
"Just stopping President Obama's job killing policies will be a major improvement."
You are an ignorant fool because Obama's policies WERE creating jobs until your Tea Baggn' idiots put the breaks on it by taking over the House! Why do you and people like you hate America so much?
Pat said..."You are an ignorant fool because Obama's policies WERE creating jobs until your Tea Baggn' idiots put the breaks on it by taking over the House! Why do you and people like you hate America so much?"
Holy crap, what jobs were those exactly??? The shovel ready stimulus jobs maybe? No, must be those census jobs right? Or maybe those green jobs...whats a green job and what kinds of profits can we expect?
I think pat means some of those texas jobs that perry actually produced...
jfk, rob:
You guys are just playing partisan plitical games on here right?
I mean, you are NOT really that blind are you?
I just want to be certain because you are doing a GREAT job sounding serious.
One good thing is that the Tea Baggers in Congress are going to take a beating in 2012. Thank God.
I think it tells you a lot about a person when they criticizes something before they hear it.
Here we go again....the tea party accounts for less than 10% of congress yet they get 100% of the blame from the deluded progressives.
Either Obama is too weak a leader to out manuver them with the bullypulpit or just plain too incompetent.
Take your pick. Whichever you select makes him a LOSER!!!
End of story.
I Agree with you rob,
That is why obama and the dems should not look for compromise anymore with this minority Tea Party bunch. My question to you however is, the tea party represents 10% of america, yet they control most of the idealogy of the repub congress the house and senate, they were the main ones pushing and were willing to allow the USA to default on its debt if they did not get what they wanted, what term usually describes someone that takes a person or something hostage in return for thier demands to be met without compromise. I will help you with the term it is called either kidnapping or terrorism. Why are they considered terrorists, the House speaker Bohner said it best I got 98% of what i wanted. That means the other side (dems) got nothing , that means you are only worried about your concerns not the concerns of people who share different beliefs or ideas than you, no room for compromise in your party, either our way or the high way. And these are the people we are supposed to put into government to replace the incumbent president? God help us.
Extremely good point How...
but, given the wingnuts' penchant for double standards and not allowing truth or facts get in the way of the talking point spin, I'm afraid they won't understand your point.
Hey Rob...imagine if Obama and the Senate got their way for a "Clean Vote" on the Debt Ceiling.
A clean vote would have stopped the credit downgrade. However, the GOP can not allow anything that Obama says take hold.
This country has put up with enough threats from the Teapublicans. Come September when the pirates come back to Washington, I hope Obama and the Democratic party kicks some serious ass and show the Teapublicans they don't really own this country and the people in it.
Rob in ma-3189632 -
there you go again with your stupid ignorant posts! Not just the Tea baggers, but all the repukes who signed onto the Norquist Pledges have stopped Congress in its tracks and hence the President from doing anything meaningful on the defecit, debt, and jobs fronts. You should pick up your toys and go home...I think you pooped enough in the sand box already.
The real shame of it all is that these Repukes claim to be true patriots, which pledge is more important, a pledge to a self serving, self important individual or the Pledge you make when you put your hand over your heart?
For me it's country first, not the money first.
Look as the annointed one often says.......the tea party representatives are true to those that voted them in. They made promised to their constituents and have kept those promises.
I would like to say sorry but I'm really not that Obama is a complete sell out to you progressives.
I know you can't admit it and place the blame on your boy where it truly belongs but oh well.
It's the Republican National convention, and Perry and Romney are deadlocked, with Bachmann in the position of being kingmaker and republican VP nominee in one fell swoop. The party establishment is apoplectic; a Perry Bachmann ticket polls as a loser in November, whereas a Romney Bachmann ticket is a winnerbut Bachmann is certain to choose the more conservative perry, and probable defeat. Despite their reluctance the party regulars draft the most charismatic republican, (who garnered almost 20% of the vote in some contests as a write-in) when she agrees to select Romney as her VP and running mate, and Sara Palin becomes the republican nominee and first woman to run for president from a major party without winning or for that matter entering a single primary. But irony abounds...
In his Christmas message to the nation, a visibly weary president Obama, with unemployment still at 9 percent his approval rating languishing in the high 30's, and trailing both republican front-runners, in the polls, shocks everyone when he announces that VP Biden is stepping down and that his former rival, secy of state Hillary r Clinton will assume the post of VP, the first woman to hold that position in American history.
He then stuns the world when he then announces that he will not seek a second term, passing the torch to Mrs Clinton who announces. after a 2 month "listening tour" her candidacy for president and runs virtually unopposed to the nomination. Choosing VA sen Mark Warner as her running mate, and in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the great depression, Clinton and Palin vie to be the first woman president in history.
It COULD happen...
And one of Obama's policies could, actually, create jobs in this country, rather than in China.
Hillary would have been a better president, dangerfield- you'll get no argument from me. Unfortunately, she not only does not want it, the Clinton infrastructure is gone from the Democratic party. That wing died when the DLC closed its doors.
It will be a long time in the desert before it gets revived by centrists. Right now, it's stuck with the far left, led by a failed president, and marginalized in the minds of an electorate exhausted by excuse making and cheerleading that do nothing to ameliorate problems Obama exacerbated.
Oh- and your first scenario is as far fetched as your second.
Hahahaha...Happy to post the only thing that you and Jody will agree on in this election cycle...:)
What plan has the GOT/TP got to offer, Balance budget admendment ? and then what? where is the jobs package plan, how are we going to protect our seniors, children, and unemployed. sounds like a lot of whole lot of nothing coming from the right. The problem is the GOP/TP have no plan, other than to make obama a one term president. It did not take 4 days before Perry start tripping himself up with crazy rhetoric, attacking the Fed Reserve, doing away with the parts of the constitution, eliminating government from protecting the people, and allowing corporations to do as they please. Romney is even worse, lowest job creation rate while he was governor in MA, created a healthcare plan similar to the one obama patterned the federal one after and the Repubs have railed againist since 2009. Wow and this is the best the repubs have to offer. I have yet to hear a repub plan to get people back to work, alll i keep hearing is cut spending, repeal obamacare, and get rid of obama. What happens if you achieve your great plan then what i ask you simple minded followers. How many economists have to keep reminding you simpletons that spending cuts alone will not boost our employement rate or our economy, we need revenue to balance our economic growth and depth. Bush duped america for 8 years, do not let it happen again. these guys are just playing to your emotions they do not have a clue of how to fix this countries problems.
GOP PLAN ON JOBS: Defund Planned Parenthood, interfere with women getting the day after pill, create a constitutional amendment defining marriage as being between a man and a woman, have genetic testing done on all men and women getting married to ensure that they are not transgenders!!! (okay, I admit it that was my own creation) make a constitutional amendment to make wives submissive to husbands (ok, ok, I made that one up too) repeal all the health care reforms that Obama CARES, provides, and call it GOP DON'T CARE, vouchers for all the folks on ss, medicare, medicaid, block grants for states instead of medicaid reimbursements based on REAL costs, more jails, less schools, more cuts, less taxes, and a constitutional amendment declaring English is the official language and Muslims cannot institute SHARIA LAW in the US!
YEP those are some solid plans that are bound to help the 14 million unemployed Americans and their children. WTG GOP!
Righties Don't Stomp My Head!
You forgot several important aspects of the GOP Job Creation Plan, as we can see from their actions in Congress: 1) defund Sesame Street; 2) give 80 year old women a voucher to go buy their own health insurance, and, if they can't find one that's affordable, well, they are on their own. 3) Send as much pork as you can to Republican-voting districts, but none to Detroit, Michigan. 4) Default on U.S. loans.
Yes, the GOP Jobs Plan has worked wonders for the country since they got elected in 2010.
Now, leading up to the 2012 eelection, they have further assaulted the American people by pledging allegiance to some Grover Norquist. I thought these politicians were elected by the citizens of this country, to go to Washington and represent their constituents. Their allegiance should have been to their constituents, not some mouth who may have asperations of becoming America's King and all the Teapublicans become his minions.
Haven't we had enough of this nonsense. We are throwing away our rights, liberties and Democrtic government we have had for over 250 years. Our Representatives have now declaired war against their won constituents. What the hell is wrong with this country?
I just seen where crude supplies came in above predictions, then in the next paragraph it was stated oill prices had just increased, give me a break, they don't even try to come up with some lame excuse anymore, bend over, you may feel a little pressure.
Hey..
Just like their political rhetoric on here:
Just because they SAY it, they think WE should believe it and accept it.
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!
What of OBAMA's IDEAS has he actually gotten to put to ANY test?
He has been dealing with a group of sellouts in Congress who pledge allegiance to ALEC, Sarah PAC, the KROTCH BROTHERS, and so forth. The GOP, no longer stands for Grand Old Party, today it stands for: Gridlocking Obstructionist Party. NO ONE who isn't a corporate bootlicker, could get anywhere with the lot of them. If we want to deal with the incredible challenges that BUSH left for Obama to cope with, we DO need to focus on Congress and vote out those Republicans who have told Grover that no matter HOW clearly the voice of the American People state that it is time to END BUSH TAX WELFARE AS WE KNOW IT, that they will stand together, arms folded, shaking their heads NO. For heaven's sakes, EVEN Hank Paulson states that with revenues this low and expenditures so high, OF COURSE REVENUES NEED TO GO UP AS PART OF THE SOLUTION TO THE DEFICIT ISSUE, he also stated that global warming is inarguable, and that the Federal government absolutely has a role to play in stimulating and helping to shape greener energy options.
TAKE THE DAMNED COTTON OUT OF YOUR EARS, AND ISN'T TEA A CHINESE IMPORT? GOOD NAME FOR THEM.
Can you say Cuckoo Cuckoo.
this is how the dems and independents have to start talking to these crazies who side with the GOPTP. No retreat No surrender, Obama has got to stand up and fight for the middle class and poor, even those tea party followers who are to dumb to notice they are being duped by the real ruling class of the GOPTP (the wealthy and corporations). For you simpletons who are naive of the TP views understand this, if you are making under $250,000 siding with this group does nothing for you, because if they were to get in all your wonderful stuff such as banking reform to protect your rights from high credit card interest rates fraud, affordable healthcare, unemployment benefits God forbid you lose your job, medicare and social security for your elderly parents or relatives, or mentally disabled child of family member are out the door. All the help you would receive now, would be out the door, while corporations and the wealthy continue to make huge profits and that trickle down economy BS the repubs and TP keep talking about would become close off the faucet, get rid of the stream all together economic policies real fast. Hamburgers would be $5, Gas prices would sky rockets, you would be in deep dodoo if we allow this bunch to run our government.
HowDidWeGetInThisMess, what you should be asking ask how can we get out of this mess. You do realize in 12 years there will be no Medicare right? You don't really think its the Governments responsibility to provide you everything from Cradle to Grave, heck how would they pay for it? Your just as whacky as RightiesDon'tStompMyHead.
Yet another poor soul who has fallen prey to the Teapublicans. What you should do is actually try to find some independent resources to verify their claims. Just because they say something is so, really shouldn't be enough for anyone to believe.
In 12 years this country will be a smoldering shell of what we once were. If we don't put the religious zealots, criminally insane, lying frauds and corporate whores away so they can't hurt anyone else, we have no one to blame but ourselves.
As the centuries have passed, we, as human beings, have evolved and embraced our exceptional knowledge, inventions and our undeniable status around the world. This group is determined to push this country into an abyss of fear and ignorance.
We have come too far to let a group of people send us back to the beginning of time in this country. Our forefathers left England to live free from oppression, religious intollerance and sovereign rule. We need to move beyond these people who are too afraid of the future. They need to be left behind in the dirt and we take greater control of our future.
JFK
you are the whacked out one. Nobody is asking for a handout thank god today i can afford my own healthcare and I have a job today. But this goes to show how the radical establishment you follow has your mind all messed up. For example lets say you have a child, spouse, or immediate family member who god forbid gets sick and the unregulated insurance company who you are fighting for tells you unless you $300,000 they cannot and will not give the care and medical attention your loved one needs and the best thing to do is make sure they are comfortable as can be before they die. Or you lose your job and have to depend on Government unemployment benefits to feed your family until you find a job, or invest in mutual funds and 401k's for 30 years and in year 29 when wall street rat bastards squander your money and you are about to retire, you are left to fend for your self at the age of 65 or older. That is the problem with your parties ideology? someone must be lazy, ungrateful, or a loser to be recieving government aid. You forget the even the bible and religion which your party so fervently upholds teaches that the poor and have nots will always be part of our society and it is mans duty to provide for those who are less fortunate. If your philosophy is to get rid of all these entitlement programs, why don't you ask the government to stop collecting taxes, and let it be every man for themselves, NO Fire station, no police, no teachers, no usda to protect what you eat, and when things get out of hand because you do not have the money to fight the wealthy corporation from enslaving you then you will want to again start grass root politics to then fight againist coporate oppresssors. You make no sense or argument at all, government is there to protect and server the people, that is why we pay taxes, so that government can assist in the common well being of ALL citizens you retarded. What about the people living next to toxic waste dumps, or factories that workers working in inhumane conditions, or roads or building that are unsafe to drive or live in, or safe water for you to drink, or keep your neighborhood safe from crime that is government my friend the same instituion you want to get rid of. When you have a legit argument for your TP radical way of life where not only the wealthy survive let me know and we can discuss rationally.
And to think I thought that was the states responsiblity...who knew.
LAY OFF LETTER
Dear Employees:
As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way.
To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%.
But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off sixty of our employees instead. This has really been bothering me since I believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who would have to go.
So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lots and found sixty 'Obama' bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change......I gave it to them.
I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.
THE BOSS
That A$$ Hole CEO would also be out of his/her job due to voter intimation charges and the company would be sued by the employees and these employees would most likely have the backing of the Justice Department.
Good luck finding a job CEO.
WOW, Good for You! You stand behind your company's best interests, which insures the employees you have security. If your company goes away, so would all jobs in it.
Wow, now that is the stupid way to look at it. The company will be sued and the profits would go to the employees who suffered from the unlawful firing and voter intimation. The CEO might even go to jail.
All the Republicans / Tea Party do is talk; constantly yapping while blocking and faulting all efforts and while catering to the few, their strong supporters, and providing nothing but rhetoric to con the majority and manipulate public opinion. In football they call it “trash mouth”, and that is what it is here ... “trash mouth” talking to disguise their neglect and their total focus on their political agenda aimed to benefit only the few, Bush-Cheney style; literally being “puppets” for Special Interests and the influential, powerful and extremely wealthy few, who “pull their strings”. If you think differently, then you have just been intimidated by “trash mouth” talking.
Oh Brother...
As Nov 2012 is coming closer Romney is starting to look like Pawlenty.
He is Pawlenty with better hair. Hmm, let's see, what was Mitt's plan? "Hey folks, I like that Cut, Cap and Balance plan, I'd sign on to that". "No wait, I like the Ryan Budget Plan, that would be good too". Oh well, lets just cut more corporate taxes and you will see the mythical job creators come back. Isn't this the guy that wanted the auto industry to drown? Where do you think the economy would be today if President Obama would have let that happen? Of course they would have blamed him for not doing anything to save it...
I have a question for thr big gov. How can we really teach our children that capitilizm is the best thing in the world when we own China, who is Communism, Billions of dollars?? really. We have the smartest people in Washington who cant even balance a checkbook. If I did that, i would be put in jail.
And you can't even spell or write a grammatically correct sentence...you are clearly one of those children who were left behind.
No Joe: let's talk cap and trade - would that be the same cap and trade that free market GOP economists believed was the best way to address environmental issues, before GOP politicians found it more expediant to become climate change deniers? Cap and trade was not just from climate reasons but to actually reduce pollution with a market incentive. The NLRB is an independent investigative agency charged with enforcing the existing labor laws. Collective bargaining and unions are LEGAL in this country, and an employer's attempts to prevent or end run this through unfair labor practices are ILLEGAL. But that is for the courts to decide, not a SC governor and senators who have a vested interest in seeing lower wages paid in their state. Your beef is with the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 and Taft-Hartley in 1947? If you want that debate, go for it, but don't imply that Obama pulls the strings of the NLRB. And to the guy up above who calls it ClunkerCare. Just how do you propose to have small businesses provide health insurance to their employees so that they can be competitively on par with large corporations who have all the leverage with the insurance industry? And if you don't think you need to provide the health insurance benefit - just how are these employees supposed to get affordable, non-cancellable health insurance?
"Wm" now you just wait a minute, corporations are people too ya know. Cap and Trade would have made too much sense and it would have offended the "job creators". The republicans and Mitt were willing to let the auto industry die to get rid of labor - how crazy was that idea? Could you imagine the impact on an already fragile economy if President Obama would have let that industry tank?
How does one Criticize a plan when one does not have a plan of their own? It is easy to tear something or someone apart but put yourself out there for some scrutiny and it is not so easy...
"Robert" ahh but Mitt does have a plan, three word solution to all economic problems - Corporate Tax Cuts. Don't you know that will bring the job creators back?
OK ignorant folk. The Pres is always the Pres, 24-7. If he wants a change of scene for a bit, let him go farisesakes. He has one of the best and worst jobs in the world. I'd rather have him outside the beltway on a regular basis just to clear his head. And really Romney, you haven't seen any more of the upcoming plan than I have and yet you can pontificate on its merits? You do simply beggar belief. But I am newly astounded day by day by the level of vitriol and lack of insight of the people whose only mantra seems to be--I don't know what the Pres wants but I know I hated it first. The so-called failed stimulus that actually saved and created millions of jobs was too small for the problem because the Republicans in the senate wouldn't buy anything that looked like it might possibly work for the benefit of the nation--don't want to make the Pres look good yaknow--cause we only care that he fail.
You may also recall that 40% of the Stimulus Plan was tax cuts to make the republicans happy...

How sad is this country that a faction of it (and/or political party) would want any president to fail?Apparently "Country First" is merely a convenient slogan. GWB and that congress left this country in a tail spin and to expect President Obama to turn around 8 years of poor financial decisions and 30 years of an erroding manufacturing base is totally unrealistic. If GWB got two terms, President Obama (with a new congress) should get four more years too. God bless the man for trying to do what he thinks is best with no support from this tea party controlled congress who was hell bent on seeing him fail from day one and has disrespected him as well. What has this man done that is so wrong? He tried to extend health care to millions of more people, he got financial reform passed, he helped save the US auto industry, gave the order to kill Bin Laden and the stock market has prospered and stayed above 10,000 points since he has been in office - pretty crappy first term huh? If this was GWB or any other Republican's first term they would be comparing the man to their beloved Gipper!
Isn't that SPECIAL for the Dems------Obama has joined the TEA PARTY! It's certainly a good idea, but if I were a Democrat I would feel absolutely betrayed. Of course, he will change his mind soon. That's what happens when you have no Principles. He says only what people want to hear, whether it is what he believes or not. Guess we'll have to wait and see what the Democratic controlled Senate does with BO's Tea Party ideas.
NBC goes out of their way to try and make him look good. From Bryan Williams dweeby supposed shock that Perry isn't a patsy to Todd's ever vigilant campaign for Obama. Can't say that they are not transparent. Disappointing for certain, but not lacking transparency. And NBC wonders why they are #3 amongst the networks. For shame, Guys, use your heads.
So far all the GOP presidential hopefuls have told us what the problems of the nation are, but nobody has been able to tell us what they would do to change all that. What they fail to realize is we the people know (already) exactly what is the problem and WHO caused it. What we want to know now is HOW you are going to fix it?
were putting our hands in our pockets and we are saying in a month
yea we need another 4 years of this butth3ad, giving more money away, you stuipid demo-craps spend spend, and then cry go ahead tax the rich see how fast they leave this country so we can hear you cry some more, unions are nothing but money hungry washing machines, you dont say anything about the flash mobs beating up white people, because you just wave your race card, its time for real americans to take over , and take your section 8 and move you all back to kenya, ok cezar back in your cage
The rich are going to leave this country? Now THAT is an idiotic statement! They are going to leave the country that has the perfect environment, system, and resources that made them rich IN THE FIRST PLACE? You obviously don't have a damn clue as to how business is done outside of the U.S. do you? In most (not all) places you are going to carry a higher tax burden because most places require that of its citizens. Yes that's right, most westernized, industrialized, democracies have a form of socialistic system, whether it be healthcare or education, you will be helping to pay for it. Most of these nations are not like the U.S. in that they don't allow a carte blanch attitude towards industry to do as they please. Screwing people out of money with no recourse to protect yourself, or sitting at the policy table in a meeting to find ways to protect the citizenry from you will not happen. No, you only get those perks from within the U.S. boarders because industry own and controls our politicians. I don't know where you get this silly-ass notion that rich people are just going to pick up there ball and go somewhere else? Our economy makes up 25% of the worlds GDP, what makes you think these people would leave those opportunities behind? And what makes YOU think that nobody else would fill the void? Your probably some poor (literally) bastard still voting republican and still believing they have your best interest at hand. Let them leave, it'll just present opportunity for someone else who doesn't have it now, good riddance!
