Michele Bachmann campaigns on her family roots in Waterloo, Iowa. And she used those roots and a family reunion as the reason she was late to Sunday night’s high-profile dinner and speeches featuring her, Rick Santorum, and new presidential candidate Rick Perry.
But a family source tells NBC News, Bachmann was not at the event.
"About 10 years ago was the last time I saw Michele at a reunion," Shirly Movick, 76, who said she is Bachmann’s first cousin, told NBC News. She added that she hadn't seen Bachmann, or her family, come to the reunion "since she's been involved in politics."
Movick confirmed that Bachmann’s husband, Marcus, and the couple's three daughters, did attend the event, however. The reunion, in Lake Mills, IA, is held annually on the second Sunday of August. Movick said she has been going all her life.
The revelation, first reported by Politico, raises questions about a response Bachmann gave a reporter Sunday evening. While taking questions from reporters following her appearance at the Black Hawk County GOP dinner, Bachmann was asked why she had not arrived earlier to the dinner, in time to see Perry's speech.
"We had a full day today," Bachmann responded. "I was doing a number of things down in Ames. And we had a big family reunion just north of Waterloo."
The Bachmann campaign maintained she was with family.
"There were a few family reunion events that weekend,” campaign spokeswoman Alice Stewart told NBC. “She attended one on Friday. Marcus and the kids went to one on Sunday, and Michele met with family members on her own."
Asked to clarify why Bachmann missed Perry's speech, and why she did not mix-and-mingle before her own speech, Stewart said, "Like I said -- she was with family members before AND she mixed with the crowd for half an hour after she spoke."
But how Bachmann comported herself at this event -- and others -- also raises questions about her level of dedication to real retail campaigning. This one, like others, have been more rally than retail. Unlike Perry and Santorum, she did not sit and chat at tables before the speeches during the dinner portion. Instead, she signed autographs on stage for about 30 minutes, as music blared from speakers.
That rankled organizer Judd Saul, spokesman for the Black Hawk County GOP and the self-proclaimed leader of the area’s Tea Party.
"If you claim Waterloo,” he said, “come and dine with Waterloo.” (Bachmann was born in Waterloo.)
Saul was also irked that the party wasn’t able to capitalize on having two big-name speakers and raise the kind of money they could have because of Bachmann.
"We had a couple speakers scheduled to speak after her,” he said, “and we were going to do our big ask for our fundraiser, but as soon as she was done, the music blasted up; she started signing autographs, and … people just started leaving. So two speakers missed their chance to speak, and we missed our ask to the Republicans here for our fundraising -- extra money that we needed to carry for the caucus."
At her speech at the Des Moines Register’s “Soap Box” at the Iowa State Fair this weekend, she was half an hour late, gave just a 2-minute, 45-second speech -- far shorter than other candidates, some of whom took up their full 20 minutes of allotted time and also took questions. Bachmann did not. Toward the end of the speech, she said, "I'm coming out to shake your hand.” She shook some hands, but made a beeline about 50 feet to a waiting golf cart and was driven off.
There have also been examples of reporters being manhandled by her security staff – at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans in June, at a South Carolina event in July, and then again at the State Fair.
Sunday's Republican dinner was closely watched, because it marked the first time Bachmann, fresh from her win Saturday at the Ames Straw Poll, would share an event with Perry, who is likely to compete for many of the same kinds of voters. And with Perry’s entrance into the race, how Bachmann does retail -- in states where it matters like Iowa and New Hampshire -- is likely to get more scrutiny.
*** UPDATE *** Stewart contacted NBC to emphasize that security at the RLC, when the incident occured with a reporter, was provided by the hotel.
*** UPDATE 2 *** On security, Stewart says: "Michele Bachmann is a high-profile congresswoman. On the heels of the Gabby Giffords shooting, security is of the utmost concern to our campaign. We have a former Secret Service officer who's protected presidents and vice presidents, and if someone gets too close to the candidate, he warns them."

The Liar Liar Pants on Fire Award today goes to Bachmann - hands down!
Don't forget her Elvis screw up today - saying it's his birthday rather then the anniversary of his death...
Seriously? She's starting to make Palin look semi-intelligent... lol
Ed Rollins really needs to tighten her leash...
Maybe Michele had one of her blinding headaches.....
......or she was afraid one of her gay siblings might try to give her a hug!
ain't family values grand!
She couldn't attend - Marcus stole the 'pearls' she planned on wearing...
*corn dog*? lol
You don't say. LoL
Don't be too critical about the autograph deal. She probably took her cue from Sarah Palin.
I LOVE the big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Elvis Presley, though.
The King is reborn, long live the King.
Isn't that so sweet.... Mamma minion taking up for her liberal master. S'matter mamma, can't the nasty redhead take up for herself?
Maybe you should heed a little of your own advice... when conservatives talk about the lunacy coming out of Obamaville, remember you said... everything's on the table. Since I also have first amendment rights, I can say what I like about the lousy policies spread about by Barry Sorento.
Brian...999, how petty you sound, you have a lot of nothing to say on everything and you assert your first amendment rights everyday...did I question your right? Did I or anyone say you couldn't spout your drivel? Furthermore, if you are going to be sarcastic, learn to spell people's names, it will add a touch of intellegence to your comments.
Backaroo Perry just kicked Bachmann out with a great big cowboy boot--and lots more money. Bachmann lacks experience or a track record of success. Buckaroo has a track record, albeit a fake one, but no one in the GOP/TP primary will figure that out. Competing on crazy won't differentiate either one.
The Dems just won in Wisconsin recalls. They won without campaigning on the Paul Ryan plan like the NY 26th district. None have run on the debt ceiling fiasco and the Tea Party Downgrade. The current GOP/TP presidential candidates are too far to the right. Buckle up folks, we're in for a wild ride.
Surprise! Happy Death day to you, happy death day to you, happy death day dear Elvis, happy death day to you. Now make a wish and god will blow out your candle. The king is dead! Happy birthday to the King! This birthday party sucks Michele.
JFK,
Not only it cost 1.1 million, it was also made in Canada!!! Now that's priceless!!!
Thats right, everything is on the table when you are a candidate for president, EXCEPT if you are President Obama. Obama didn't undergo any scrutiny by the press in 2008. When people asked for his college records, OH NO, just take our word he graduated with Honors, but we aren't going to show you any of his records, they are under lock and key. What..... you say you want to see his medical records, no thats not we are gonna do. Granted other presidential candidates haven't always released their medical records, but there were many many things Obama wouldn't answer because he didn't want to answer them, the press just gave him a pass.
Hopefully this year, we can get more answers about Obama. Oh wait, this year he can be critisized for his performance as president. Maybe.... but probably not, he'll quit blaming others for his failed policies.
It would be nice if the press would quit making fun of people because of where they are from, stop making fun of people's accents. Rick Perry can't help his accent, and he can't help where he was born. Oh by the way, watch Morning Joe and listen to Mike Barnacle's accent, the man can't pronounce Obama's name correctly, yet he gets no teasing for his Boston accent. Barnacle continuously puts an R on the end of words it doesn't belong on. Oh wait, a Boston accent is fine, because its from the Northeast, an acceptable place to live.
I happen to be working in Nashville TN this week, I'm about sick of their cute little southern accents, but I don't run around making fun of the doctors whom I am training, calling them stupid because they have a southern accent. Why is it acceptable to make fun of Perry's accent? Criticize him for his policies all day, but the press shouldn't be acting like two year olds making fun of someone's accent.
For your information, the US Secret Service, by mandate of Congress makes the decisions about how to transport the President and Vice President and their spouses. And the US Congress authorizes and funds their transport.
Two of these high-security and heavily armored buses were built. The Secret Service already announced last week that one of the two secure, armored buses will be provided for use by the Republican nominee when chosen, along with secret service protection for that Republican nominee.
So why don't you folks quit your bitching about the Nation's need to protect our president, regardless of whom he/she may be or from which political party. Some of you are so blinded by hatred it is just pathetic
Great point Robert. These folks on the right love to throw their fake outrage around.
Robert - Why do liberals always say that those opposing Obama are blinded by hatred? Isn't that a little over the top? Actually it's an exaggeration... huge. I don't hate Obama. He's a person... unfortunately I hate the decisions he makes and the policy he stands behind. If Obama were any other person making the same decisions, I'd hate those decisions too. It's not the person, it's the fruit of the person I detest.
Similar analogies can be made of other things I hate. I hate the concept of homosexuality. I don't hate homosexuals. I hate the concept of being blinded drunk, I don't hate drunks. I hate the results of the actions of individuals, not the individual.
It would be nice if such generalities were not made. Maybe a little common sense and a little common decency would go a long way at formulating remarks. I understand it's hard to distinguish the difference because this is an emotion filled forum, but at least try to understand the direction of the hatred... not towards individuals, but towards the action of the individual. See, I don't hate you, but your remarks and misdirection are offensive.
PS. Paul-Florida, the secure, armored buses were built by Hemphill Brothers Coach Company in Tennessee, not "in Canada." If you have a point to make, make it with truths.
Job1 - Isn't your remark false outrage as well? Because people are opposed to the idea of purchasing 2 Bus1's when the president has many means of transportation at his disposal, why is that fake outrage? I find it to be a complete waste of money and a waste of the president's time. He takes a road tour when he needs to be concentrating on the economy. Of course you don't see it that way because you are more concerned with him winning re-election. Therein lies a huge problem with the divide between a sitting president of one denomination or another. Those on the opposing side, always view the president's actions as offensive when there are problems in the country that aren't being addressed and a diversion of the president's time is involved. Liberals did it with Bush and now conservatives are doing it with Obama.
Sides have switched... so you guys are on the receiving end... doesn't feel good, does it? Don't get offended because you give as good as you get.
Brianb-999431, you listed a pretty lengthy litany (above) of the things that you "hate" and "detest", and at the same time directed the pejorative "you liberals" at me?
Did you intend for that label to politically categorize my completely non-partisan statement? I wrote: "So why don't you folks quit your bitching about the Nation's need to protect our president, regardless of whom he/she may be or from which political party. Some of you are so blinded by hatred it is just pathetic".
If this was your intent, I miss your point.
Aaaaah yes. I see the usual Liberal Progressive Teabaggee's are out spewing their usual vitriol. This as our Imbecile in Chief is
campaigningon his "national listening tour". Of course as Barrack Hussein's ratings continue to plummet, the Left accommodates him by claiming other presidents have done the same thing. The Liberal Progressives who allege they are the party of peace and love, women's rights, for the little guy and progress are drooling over any filth they can spew at Barrack Hussein's challengers. The veiled attempt by the Left to be "fair" is antithetical to their true nature. As candidates make mistakes the Left has their hate-mongerers armed and ready. This is laughable as our Incompetent in Chief continues his cluelessness about domestic and foreign policy.
But fear not. Barrack Hussein promised he will unveil his "plan" for economic recovery. In September. Of course the
campaignnational listening tour, his 11 day vacation and the the Labor Day holiday has to all be taken care of first. Then he will grace us with the "plan". I'm sure it will be all encompassing, I can hear it already.I'm sure it will go something like this, "I will focus like a laser (AGAIN) on the economy and job creation. Revenue (taxes) will be created and invested (spend). My current policies haven't worked because of bad weather, natural disasters, Congress, George Bush, what I inherited, a car stuck in the ditch, Europe and of course, the TEA Party. You won't have time to read the plan, just pass it so we can find out what's in it."
Hope and Change has become Ropes and Chains.
(By the way, a "teabaggee" is the one who accepts the bag from the teabaggers. You can find a more descriptive definition here, urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=teabaggee)
Robert - My comments were directed at the hatred portion of your statement. If you are in the middle of the bus issue and aren't leaning one way or the other, the "liberal" portion of my comments wouldn't apply to you. I've heard many, many liberals say conservatives hate the president for one reason or the other, mostly the color of his skin. The point I was trying to convey is that I don't hate the president. I hate his actions. I don't think that escaped your attention. If you're comment was ideology based, which was my interpretation, then you should be able to understand, hopefully, my intent.
Fake outrage by the right.
Brianb-999431, I accept your clarification of your intent. But I also reference back to my original point that "hatred" is the problem. Hatred blinds the hater, and reason and equanimity is dismissed when hate takes hold. A reasonable person disagrees. An unreasonable person hates.
I ...disagree with your use of pejorative labels like "you liberals" for those whom do not share your own views, and I disagree with your lecturing on the fine distinctions and deconstructions of "hate." I think that's rather presumptuous and pedantic. I'm 58 years old and didn't just hop off the turnip truck. But I'm also going to assume that it was not your intention to lecture. So, no harm, no foul.
Unfortunately, Brian, there are millions of Americans who do hate President Obama, for a whole long list of reasons most of which are unreasonable. And there are millions of Americans who do hate former President Bush (43), for a whole long list of reasons which are also unreasonable. I accept and appreciate that you are not personally disposed to hatred of persons, but please don't argue that much of the vitriol in our country, and illustrated by some of the posts in these discussion threads is not generated by genuine and deeply felt "hate."
The US Secret Service has reported to Congress that since Mr Obama took office, the rate of threats
against the president has increased 400% over his predecessor; on average about 30 threats per day against our president; and this pattern began months before Mr. Obama assumed office.
People who threaten the president, if sane, are blinded by their hatred. This was my original point to which you take exception. I wrote: "So why don't you folks quit your bitching about the Nation's need to protect our president, regardless of whom he/she may be or from which political party. Some of you are so blinded by hatred it is just pathetic".
If you want to continue to spin my words, and dissemble my meaning, go right ahead. I promise, .... I won't hate you for it. ;)
Well said Robert. Too many people are bitching about actions taken by the Secret Service. THEY have a mandate to protect OUR president and I am glad they take their responsibilities seriously.
She has lied about a lot of stuff. I loved it during the Fox News debate when they asked her to admit that she follows the explicit Biblical doctrine that says "wives should be submissive to their husbands." This was her chance to stand with her Bible and not deny that the New Testament puts women as subordinate to men in many ways. Instead, she lied and said that her idea of submission was mutual respect between her and her anti-gay, gay husband. It was similar to when Jesus told Peter that Peter would deny knowing Jesus, and Peter did that. Michelle and her fundamentalist friends don't want Americans to know what the Bible really says. Nor do they want to follow Jesus's advice about greed, violence, forgiveness and generosity. Bachmann and Perry are dangerous people, and so are their followers.
The Elvis thing was just dumb. Seriously, this is what you have staffers for. Fire whoever made that mistake. You'd think that people would do their jobs checking this stuff given the importance of a campaign. Of course, this could also be a sign that the staffers are morons....
Anyway, YET AGAIN, Bachman gets press over Ron Paul. I like Jon Stewarts take on how the media, from FOX to msnbc itself just can't take a candidate who actually is consistant with their point of views and who does well. I wouldn't vote for Ron Paul, because I don't think his policies would work, but seriously, you give press time to Bachman and not Paul. Just ridiculous, and it reminds me of how in '08 nobody wanted to give Obama press until they were forced to.
Robert, while you are very well spoken, you exaggerate to make your point with little chance of your being accurate. You say "millions" hate Obama. There is no poll, and no way on earth that you can know this to be true. There are some loudmouths online who rant, and a few people in every crowd who overstate things, but millions?
I would guess that some people actually hate Obama, but I know of very few. Some people are very proud of his accomplishments, and some find him to be doing harm, and being dishonest. That is politics.
It seems that both major parties have learned from the Bush years that the opposition tactics should include acting like 2 year olds, lying, exaggerating, comparing to Hitler, and any other manner of disdain to be completely normal in the current political climate. It's sad, demeaning, but the two major parties insist on acting like children.
How about rather than exaggerate you simply state what you know?
Karl,
I'm not exactly sure - what was the point your post. Are you condemning Ms. Bachman because she wouldn't say that she is submissive to her husband - or that you actually want women to be submissive? Are you implying that everyone who doesn't know what the new testament says are lacking? In your last line are you trying to point out the non-Christian attitudes Ms Bachman and Mr. Perry have concerning greed, violence, forgiveness and generosity?
Libertarian, What we do know is that the Secret Service has recorded a 400% increase in threats against this President over his predecessor. We do know that certain Senators and Congressmen stated from his inaguration on-ward that they wanted him to fail, and have done everything in their power to ensure it.
Brianb-999431: I find that with all your glittering generalities and hate-filled remarks and poor excuses for common sense and common decency, you were misdirected and very offensive too!
To be frank with you Brianb-999431, you must be a liberal democrat because I can't see any of the neo-cons hating Obama's policies. They've gotten everything they've wanted since he's been in office. I wish I could say that as a liberal.
Obama is a Dino... Democrat in Name Only.
They don't let Bachmen mingle or talk with voters because it is hard enough for her not to say something stupid when they give her talking points in front of a crowd. Imagine what kind of fluster she would be in if people asked her questions? I mean real questions, not the softballs lobbed in by fox news. Confronting her with any of her hypocrisy is considered an attack by the left... well guess what Michelle, if you have hypocrisy in your beliefs it is the job of any media and the people to question that. Not every question is an attack, some are just designed to allow you to clarify the gaping hole sin logic that you claim to believe in
A Republican lied about family values. Stop the presses!!!!!
Ed Rollins, who far too many called him intelligent and looked to him as the 'smart one' is the new laughing stock now for working with Bachmann!!
Hope he enjoys his last job!! He's now considered unemployable!!
Wasn't that many years ago when lying about someone in public would get you in Real trouble. What gives?
Between Bachman, Perry and the Tea Party - I am just going to sit back and watch the republican party implode. Too bad - if they actually had someone reasonable I may have voted for them.
bkny: Don't lie, you would never vote GOP. You say you look for someone reasonable and out of 9 candidates , you don't see a one? You Liberals drink the kool aid given out by the Liberal media . The rest of the world sees the GOP candidates ( each and every one of them) as a great deal better than who we have now. The country is sliding into the abyss . Another 4 more Obama years and it will be too late. I hear Obama's new name is "Debt Man Walking."
Leona - rather rude and ignorant of you to call me a liar . Yes - there are some reasonable republicans in the field - however - the powers that be in the GOP seem to be backing the radical element. Like I said - an implosion is imminent.
Instead of looking for a second class contender check out RON PAUL
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul
Ron Paul? Just at the right age for demen...Alzheimers to set in , (I don't recall)....
If you are looking for a 3rd class contender instead of 2nd class, Ron Paul fits the bill.
On a side note, if Ron Paul and Paul Ryan got married they could be Paul Paul and Ron Ryan.
For the love of Pete, can we get everyone to stop using "drink the kool aid" comment. Where does that even come from? I hope it is not a Jonestown reference because drinking their drink didn't make you stupid, it killed you.
True - the "drinking the kool aid" has gotten real old. People tend to throw it out when they have nothing intelligent to contribute to a conversation.
And how does she think she knows what my drink of choice is anyway? :)
Instead of the kool aid comment, we could use Bachmann's advice and slit our wrists and become blood brothers.
Obviously she's just not the glad-hander Perry is. Perry seems to have learned one thing Bachmann has not; sincerity is a powerful gift, if you can fake that you will go far.
Bachmann will prove to be an amateur, she was just thrust on to the national stage to fill the void of Palin. She doesn't have the money to hang with Perry or Romney - they are the establishment candidates. She will entertain for a few more months and the bottom line is that Perry will be the nominee. The evangelicals and tea party will not vote for a Mormon, but will never admit that publicly, besides Romney is way too moderate for them.
Bachmann seems to have a phobia about meeting people or maybe she is just afraid someone will ask her another question she doesn't know the answer to- how long does she think she can run from voters?
sincerity is a powerful gift, if you can fake that you will go far. Perry enjoys his sincerity, when he talks about all those $5.00 an hour jobs he has created in Texas. Right to work state. No state income tax. He is getting richer, his minions are getting poorer, much like George W. Bush. Can't wait for a couple of investigative reporters, to bring all his misdeeds to light. Wouldn't be surprised if his Driver's license number is 2. Right after the 1 given to George W. Bush. With no record.
Good point Chuck, Perry will do for the economy what Bush did for education.
"She shook some hands, but made a beeline about 50 feet to a waiting golf cart and was driven off."
Driven about 140 yards, into the pond.
I really wonder about this woman. In most cases of an egoistic father in politics, he's too busy out of the house or hiking some trail in Appalachia or South America to bother too much even with his own children. In Bachmann's case, she has trumpeted her fostering of 23 [?] children. How did these children fare emotionally in her care? Is she still fostering children even as she campaigns everywhere except back home? Who's taking care of the children?
If you want to trumpet that you're a "social conservative" and will never be ashamed of it, by all means follow your bliss and take care of your children -- all of them -- in a loving, emotionally supportive home that treats those children as something more than "through-put".
Charlotte, Her foster children were mostly teenage girls who stayed from 3 months to two years. Some of them were in a program for anorexia/bulimia. They got room and board and could help with her with the smaller children. It was a giving ting to do but it was also a two way street.
Charlotte? She must have been a great comfort to the kids who needed her. I'm not a fan, but really appreciate the fact we have loving people out there willing to open their arms...and hearts to the kids that need us...
I believe in our President. I believe he's truly trying to do the right thing. He really doesn't need the grief, you know... He's going to have an incredible life - great intelligence, intelligent wife, perfect daughers.... His life would could be so much fricken smoother out of office, but would our lives?...
Say what you want... This is an intelligent man, trying to do the right thing...
Think McCain win... Nahhhh... I would have been praying, "Long live John McCain"....
I am so grateful for our President. And hope he's re-elected... I trust no one else to steer this shipwreck!
I'm a social worker who works in the child protection/foster care system and is a foster parent myself. I am highly suspicious of one family having this many placements in a relatively short period of time. Knowing what we know statistically about teenage foster youth, I can't help but question what was going on in that home that none of these children remained longer. It calls into question their commitment to these traumatized children, their ability to bond with them, and raises questions about their motivation for taking them, e.g. were they trying to "save" these children spiritually or use them as the source of yet more government money? What was the quality and quantity of nurturing did the Bachmanns provide? Although I'm curious about the circumstances that led to their departure from the Bachmann home, I hope these youth can maintain their privacy, dignity, and integrity. How long it will take before news organizations identify and tempt them to talk about living in the Bachmann home with a fistful of cash? I wish them an adulthood more promising that their childhood.
Not quite correct Northstar - the Bachmann's were paid $30 per day per girl by the state. The Bachmann's didn't "give" the girls anything.
Don't tell me the Bachmann's were taking government money to warehouse theses kids, just like they took government money for their farm and for their "clinic." Why is it she's against big government....??
If you read her Wiki page it says that the STATE placed these girls w/Bachmann's clinic because they had eating disorders. Then they PAID the Bachmann's to have the girls stay w/them during their treatment. They were nothing more than "in-patients". Foster children my ass. THEY were "foster children" but they were NOT Bachmann's foster children. They were PATIENTS. Seriously you don't think this bitch would take in children out of the "goodness of her heart"do you ?? It all had to do w/ MONEY... pure and simple.
How can her record compare to RON PAUL
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul
23 foster children, government money funnels, basic factual errors, pray away the gay, none of this matters to her supporters. All she had to say were those little magic words: God told me to...
I am fine with people loving god and who ever else, I am glad there is a source of good in the world. I don't want to be governed by this however. This is how W worked too... God told me to invade Iraq and give tax cuts. We don't need any more of this. Go help more children, go celebrate elvis, but please don't bring that stuff into the white house.
I'm not sure which it is with the Elvis thing----either she doesn't believe he is dead (like so many of her base) or she thinks of dying as being "reborn in the afterlife" so it is his birthday.
Consistently late, tells a bold face lies, acts like the public she hopes will vote for her has fleas. Michele is already out of the race. Stick a fork in her, I think she's done......
Didn't I hear something about Obama telling a tea partier that Biden didn't make any terrorists references?
Ah ... what the heck ..... not attending every function of a family re-union in the middle of presidential campaign is a lot worse than lying about the Vice President referring to American citizens as terrorists when he he hardly calls terrorists - terrorists.
My bad.
Didn't I hear something about Obama saying to the Green Bay Packers at the White House reception something like ....."You guys come to my house to rub it in." Did Obama get mixed up on who's house the White House is?
I thought Obama said it was the "People's House" and anyone could get into a concert for $30,000.00 with $10,000.00 a pic or by winning a raffle (Hollywood celebrities and producers filming propaganda movies about him killing Bin Laden to be released 2 weeks before the next election - excepted.)
Isn't Obama's house the one in Chicago that Tony Rezko bought for him?
Seriously? Obama is starting to make Carter look semi-successfull.
Seriously? Obama's economy is starting to make Charlie Sheen look like a ffinancial genius for putting his money in coke and whores. (Leno)
Speaking of leashes, isn't it time for a walk - give the computer a break ..... other people can posts petty, worthless banalities too.
There's my little 'Roomba' booby - right on cue!
Buddy - keep on wandering for the corner in the round room...
It is MOST entertaining...
After every article about Bachmann there are many, many "what an idiot" comments, along with a few contrary comments from Bachmann worshipers. But here's the funny thing about the comments from the Bachmannbots: they never, EVER mention Bachmann's name or say one single word about her! Instead, they are all exactly like this angry, bitter "defense" of Bachmann from someone named "bob" plus a bunch of numbers - namely, an attack on Obama!
The fact that right-wing extremists can defend their own spokespeople only by attacking someone else says volumes about the defensibility of the doofuses and grifters that they love so. (Looking at YOU, "bob" plus a bunch of numbers!)
You want the lighting adjusted, Ms. Bachmann?
Dimmer?
A little more dimmer?
More dimmer?
We're down to one light bulb, Ms. Bachmann...
I guess Feisty's new line is
Keep on wandering for the corner in the round room...
Feisty, I think it goes like this -
Backed into a corner in a round room.
Oh, and its blonde, just saying ;)
Hey Bernard,
What was there to defend?
There was no comment of any substance by Feisty - never is.
I was just mocking her worthless banality. The last sentence should have been a clue.
Sorry it went over your head.
You of all people would know a thing or two about backing up, bending over & hide the corn dog...
WHAAAAA now go cry to the moderators...
I am not the one that was throwing this line around all day.
Feisty you only wish someone would bend you over, nothing there but cobwebs, I am guessing.
That even grossed me out. Feisty, you're a dirty old lady. eck!
This coming from the braod who when she spreads her legs the ligjht comes on....
PULEZZE honey - STOP embarrassing yourself...
This is a political blog - you score NO sympathy votes... lol
I am not the one who's counting votes, remember that's your deal.
But your right, I did embarrass myself, I went down to your level. Live and learn I guess, now begone you nasty lowlife.
Now I need to take a shower, eck!
There you go again Booby....bumping into walls. Dang they keep popping up everywhere.
In your biggest fantasy - I've been around here long before you, little chilled rookie and I'll still still around long after you find the Summer's Eve!
Old broads like you don't have the stamina to go the distance... been there & done that! lmao
*yawn*

Feisty, This is a keeper, seriously you got issues.
Bob- Is it your job to question and critic everyone's post's? Saying people are acting like terrorist's is not saying they are. I think Faux noise is a news terror outlet, because ALL they do is attack our President, his Admin, Liberal's and all Democrat's. That is my opinion! I think all this name calling of our President, and using his middle name, like it's a dirty word, is childish and disrespectful, but my opinion once again. I came on this vine to make fun of Bachmann, because to me she is a joke. No one Loves America but her, and her faithful sheeple.
bob
Biden didn't make "terrorist" references despite what fatass rush and fox might blabber on about.
It was said by a Congressman in the meeting. Stop believing every piece of BS righties give you lazy people- too lazy to look up the truth.
bob-1805084 Some people would consider in your face Tea/Publicans terroists. I would be willing to make a bet 90% of them are in the 2% who got tax cuts and don't want to give it back. Using the money to be just what you said, locally grown terroists.
Bob,
All you ever post is nonsense!
Bob, why do you attack others for their "banalities" when your post rarely consist of anything but? And the silly crap you posted at the top of this thread? I'm sure you don't care, but all that kind of posting makes you look like is a troll - while Obama is in the White House, it is HIS house, provided by us but still his house. This is grasping, at best.
And are you insinuating that Tony Rezko bought the Obamas' house in Chicago for them? You have no problem with spouting outright falsehoods? If you don't know it for a fact, don't repeat it; if you know it's a lie, then why do you feel it is appropriate to prevaricate? Makes you look like a real loser that has no argument, so just slings mud around hoping some will stick.
let me see she is late to appointments then lies about why she doesnt believe in evolution she worked for the irs she gets migraines she applied six times for government stimulus money her security is getting a reputation for roughing up reporters she has no history as an executive she believes that god told her to run for president she has flip flopped about gays she was willing to let the government default on its obligations doesnt inspire confidence do we really want this woman to have her finger on the red button the us has 70 000 nukes
Great post, john ryan!
Don't worry, the Grand Old Party won't let her win the nomination any way. They will back the boys - Rick and Mitt. Rick will win because the evangelicals and tea party won't vote for a Mormon (period) and will never say or admit that in public. Besides, Mitt is way too "liberal" for them, which in the new moniker for a moderate in the republican party...
kind of a shame actually as they might stand a chance if they nominated Mitt.
And with mitt we might actually finally get socialist health care for all!
Hey girl,
Have your walk yet?
Did you get a snausage for being good, or did you nip ankles of anyone who wasn't on the far left side of the sidewalk?
Hey Bob who you calling a dog? I'll take being called mans best friend, over being a troll, like you! WOOF I even like moonbat, it's cute, and we eat skeeters!!!LOL
The consumption of corn dogs by candidates in Iowa have been the subject of much grade school, Beavis and Butthead level humor herein.
This will keep the moonbats giggly for weeks.
The really funny thing is these doofuses claim intellectual superiority over conservatives.
And they are not openly munching on corn dogs,
or sh!t on a stick.
OH PULEEZE booby - the idiot from Albany was spanking his monkey for at least two weeks over Weiner's weiner...
Talk about a fixation...
Clean up your own backyard before you come crapping in ours...
One thing is for sure - Marcus SURE can suck on a mean corn dog...

PS: NOT fair - NO teeth Marus...
Perry insists on corn dogs at his rallies, as he takes that first bite, eyes cruising the crowd.....
Claim? Facts are facts!
Bob if your brain was in a nat's hind in, it would roll around like a peanut in a boxcar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not the one that was throwing this line around all day.
Feisty you only wish someone would bend you over, nothing there but cobwebs, I am guessing.
That even grossed me out. Feisty, you're a dirty old lady. eck!
LORDY - aren't YOU the brightest crayon in the box!
Blonde - swerve into my lane again and I will RUN your ass over... capiche?
Hey Feisty,
You leaned something today, right? Blonde, not blond, good girl. Don't you just hate it, trying to be such a smart a@@ and it was you that misspelled the word.
Never pretty.
HAHAHA - spoken from TRUE experience right babe?
Please by all means continue to swerve into my lane - it gives me the opportunity to clean your phony clock GF!
*hugs babe* lmao...
PS: Do YOU really want to revisit the vote counting thingy - what's up?
Are you really into pain?
Feisty,
PS: Do YOU really want to revisit the vote counting thingy - what's up?
Go for it, prove it, you wont because you cant, because it not true. Show me what you got, and I will call you out every time.
Oh, FYI I am not old, and who calls women old broads, that is so old school.
You called me a rookie, man you got some issues. Do you know how silly you sound.
Actually, thetotas, YOU are the one that appears to be making a fool of yourself. Do you think you are coming across as mature? NOT!!
This woman is full of misinformation. She couldn't even get the anniversary of Elvis' death right.
who fiesty?
Perry is the guy to beat. He was born and raised here (valid birth cert. big plus) no law degree (very big plus), served in OUR military (C-130 pilot) and thinks marriage is a union between a man and a woman.
Are those the only qualifications you look for? Sheesh! How about a proven record of leadership and a willingness to compromise for the good of the country?
ski55 - what do you think of his policy of giving big donors or their family members jobs in his administration?
ski55 - Perry does business a lot like Blagojevich, or is the distinction that Blagojevich actively solicited in return for perks and Perry just maes sure the perks come through? http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-0816-perry-donors-20110816,0,7718310.story
Obama was a community organizer, never had the guts to vote anything but present while in Illinois politics, and served about 1/2 his term in the U.S. senate before campaigning for president. Tell me again what leadership role he served in.
ski55 wrote: "Perry is the guy to beat. He was born and raised here (valid birth cert. big plus) no law degree (very big plus), served in OUR military (C-130 pilot) and thinks marriage is a union between a man and a woman."
REPLY: By offering this statement are you STILL maintaining that President Obama was not "born here", does not have a "valid birth certificate", and has not made clear ...many, many times ...that he does not support same sex marriage?
Wow, that's just pathetic! Are you a complete bonehead or just so blinded by hatred that you only hear what you want to hear?
Janet,
A Darn lie on your part and you know it.
LSCWquilter, I'm saying possessing just one of those qualifications gives him the edge over Bachmann. That woman does not impress me at all. As a matter of fact I find her to be mildly irritating and wish she would do a Pawlenty.
Robert,
Old ski55 left out his important point. Perry is a white guy, and ski55 is a birther racist.
Yes, Job1, I gathered as much. I have one of those in my own family ....a terrible humiliation for the rest of us.
ski
You're in for a big shock when Perry is outed- he's so obviously gay how could you miss it?
Spoken like a true Neocon!
The gay rumors have been going around for years. They have even made the papers in Austin. Everyone's personal choice is their business, not mine but, if someone lies about it, that is another matter. The bigger issue is that, it was recently discovered that Perry, Bachmann and Palin all are deeply influenced by the Dominationists. Look it up, none of these people should be in the White House are anywhere near it.
fayse I cant think of one republican who should be anywhere near the white house.
The only think that would make Perry better by GOP standards is if he was born in a New England state and transplanted to Texas, no degree at all except the one Daddy bought for him, ran away from OUR military and doesn't care about marriage, but uses those who do to get more votes.
As much as it pains me, I'm going to have to agree with the general population on this thread :(... Bachmann belongs on one of the Warner Bros. cartoons. I'm thinking Tom & Jerry..
Herman Cain is by far a better Tea Party candidate.. Funny that none of them recognize this??
Ellie, the entire Looney Tunes ensemble cast is represented in the current GOP slate: Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Taz (the Tasmanian Devil), Bugs Bunny, Marvin the Martian, Foghorn Leghorn, Wile E Coyote, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Sylvester. Odd thing though. Now that I have grown up I no longer find any of them funny or endearing. Just tedious. Hmm?
Thank you for that image Robert. I agree the loony toon clown car that is the GOP field is not something to laugh at. Not when 1/2 of the population takes it so seriously!
Just another Waldo Palin.....
Once again, NOJO equals NO BRAINS. perry was a MODERATE DEM. when he ran gore's presidential campaign in Texas. Karl Rove convinced him that Texas was becoming a one party state under bush You can spin any way you choose, but the truth will set you free.
there are no balances for perry and his cronies in Texas. It's too late for us, but if repubs want to have a chance at beating obama they better nominate either romney or huntsman. the only two rational candidates in the race.
perry calls social security a ponzi scheme and calls for social security and medicare to be discontinued.
great prayer meeting rick... 16th 100 degree day in a row and still no rain. maybe it's because of those alledged man fairs around Austin?
hugs Fiesty
*hugs Leon*
Please keep on posting about Perry - I'm lovin the truth & nothing but the truth coming straight from TX!
I am as bored with Michelle Bachmann as I am with Sarah Palin. Can we move on to covering other candidates -- pretty please?
Not a lot to choose from.
This article is boring and these posts are really boring....Think I'll move on.
my point continues to be made:
I am a pro business governor@ the expense of the environment and workers.
perry disgiused tax increases as "fee increases."
perry actually dramatically increased the size of state government.
Our UNemployment rate in Texas is 8.2... hardly a miracle.
By changing from a MODERATE dem to an ultra conservative, he proves he actually stands for NOTHING.
A person just does not change certain core views, this is what makes the person we are.
And, because the race for the Governorship was a three way race, Perry only got 39% of the votes. I think that Perry was brought into the fray to make Romney look more moderate. Perry has too much baggage and I don't mean the ones under his eyes. Check out"Rick Perry Bilderberg Istanbul, Turkey" and the questions about whether or not he broke the Locan Act. And, check out "Rick Perry and the Dominationists". Check out his college transcripts from Texas A&M. He has only been a candidate for a few days and already the skeletons in his "closet" are making noise.
Bachmann's campaign style --- lie, rewrite history when necessary, make it up as you go along, say anything regardless of facts, lie again, when caught in a lie, lie about the lie.
PS. Paul-Florida, the buses were built by Hemphill Brothers Coach Company in Tennessee, not "in Canada." If you have a point to make, make it with truths.
I am a very proud Canadian. Please do not disparage us. There is nothing wrong with the products we make When I shop I try to purchase something that is made either in Canada or the U.S. I try with all that is in me not to buy anything Chinese. Please do the same on your side of the border. What is good for us is good for you as well.
Another case of if you thought Sarah Palin was too cerebral you'll love Michelle Bachmann?
Bachmann is a complete moron and a liar to boot.
exactly - now you get it!
With that weirdo family, I'm sure we'll be having a lot of FamilyGate moments.
Hey media....Lets have an equal headline....Did Obama lie about......? If you actually wanted to be fair and balanced, you would....but you are just the PR section for Obama....and the attack dogs...
JA, this story is about idiot Bachmann.
beer....What? You dont want Obamas record or lack of experience or honesty mentioned??....Actually, I can understand that. It is something that anyone would want to hide....Similar to all of his background being secret....Yea, lets keep the name calling and accusations a one sided thing....never admit failure.
Poor J.A., can't keep up with how to address a specific topic.
But, hey, just curious...how does Obama's experience compare with other presidents? Say, for example, Abraham Lincoln...although I know he's a lousy example, since he was also a really bad president, right?
The President was a State Senator for two years before he was a US Senator. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard. He was president of the Harvard Law review. He lectured as a Professor of Constitutional law. Yes he was a community oganizer. How many on this board have ever given their time for those who are less fortunate? He has gained three years experience 24 hours a day seven days a week in dealing with hate speech and, he has retained his dignity. Anyone that says he has done nothing should research the many things that he has done in spite of the opposition. The GOP, Rush Limbaugh and Mitch McConnell have one agenda, and we all know what that is.
Oh, the poor teabaggers didn't get to do any fund raising, the poor babies. I'm sure the kochs will be glad to give you as much corporate money as you want.
Hey Sean, if you're in a UNION, don't forget to pay your dues because that money gets forked over to Obama's campaign and I know you want him to win!
Leona, may you soon work for a non-union employer who expects you to do the job of three people for diminished pay and no benefits. When you have a heart attack or stroke from the stress and your teeth are falling out maybe you will get it. You will be the one on "socialist" benefits then and take jabs from your GOP buddies.
Amen to that ! I live in a right to work State and believe me, that is a misnomer. The Right to work law protects the employer. Everthing that you said about the Heart attack is true. This happened to my husband. He was a manager of a privately owned company, because of his status in Management, he worked 70 to 80 hours each week. Managers don't get overtime pay. One year to the day after his heart attack and he could no longer put in the hours that the company expected, he was let go. We did consult a lawyer and we were told "this is a right to work State" and the company can basically hire and fire anyone that they want to.
I am so sorry to hear that, Fayse.
The wierd part is that the same people taking the abuse will vote republican/tea party. I think it's some form of Stockholm Syndrome where the captives start to show compassion for their captors. Whatever it is, its sick and sad.
