What do California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) and brand-new presidential candidate Rick Perry (R) have in common?
We'll, they appear to share this slogan: It's time to get working again. In his speech today, Perry said: "It is time to get America working again." And that, as one observer of California politics reminds us, is very similar to this Brown message from 2010:

This dumb-ass couldn't even come up with an original campaign slogan? lol
The best his team could come up with was to plagiarize a Democrat?
How about some of these?
HIYOOO RICKYOO!
The genunine TX brain-dead cowboy!
If you thought Bush was bad you ain't seen nothing yet...
Some how Perry is figuring the people in America are a bunch of dumbazzes. Even a blind person can see the Republi-CONS have ruined this economy with their "Starve the Beast" Southern tacit.
People in Perry's state work for minimum wage and no insurance. While he pays 38 for his
Hell, Perry has reverted to prayer to make up for his shortcomings.
Yeah, maybe you should, Mr. Perry. Maybe that will make things up with you and Dad.
But, really? Trying to take this nation down your road?
You are a friggen' afterthought.
I didnt think Bush was that bad, but I think Perry will be better.
Mo better. Fo sure!
But yeah, W was that bad.
Fiesty:
Actually jackazz, Perry used that slogan way back in 2000 when he was running for Governor. Before you dis Texas know its history.
Beverly:
People in your state don't work, they commit murder. GTFOOH with that weak azz BS. If you knew anything about Texas, you would know Texas is heavily populated by illegals and that is where the few negative economic numbers stem from.
Minimum wage = JOB.........
Actually according to the bureau of labor statistics, the average hourly wage in texas is almost 15/hr. Someone from needs to check facts before claiming all jobs in Texas are min wage.
@Chad
Do you know how many under $10 an hour jobs it takes to bring a whole state's average down to $15 dollars and hour. I am a transplant to Texas with 2 Bachelors and a Masters degree and had gone over 4 years without a raise until I got realigned out of work completely just recently. The great Texas economy is just one more GOP Tea Lie.
As for thinking and Perry, Fiesty has it quite right. He has never had an original thought. He is one more GOP puppet with strings attached to every hoodlum in the state. If you think he won't take that good ole boy action to DC you've really drank too much Kool-Ricky-aid.
He is a mean, nasty, vindictive little p*ssazz with just enough holiness to fetch the evangelical vote. He will then throw these people anyway like so much used toilet paper after wiping. Even with them he looses to American intelligence 'cause they've seen this act before. We The People lost with W; who was also called to DC by the man upstairs supposedly (or so saith his Ma, Barbara).
We need not dig this hole any deeper before we get the ship righted from the last GOP storm.
Obama, 4 more years!
Tell me asswipe - how does that turd sandwich taste? Did the little Mrs. finally get it to your liking?
Or did you have to smack her around a little more?
BTW - where you been? Parole board finally catch up to you? ;o)
Two Santa Clauses or How The Republican Party Has Conned America for Thirty Years
In reality, his tax cuts did what they have always done over the past 100 years – they initiated a bubble economy that would let the very rich skim the cream off the top just before the ceiling crashed in on working people.
The Democrats got to play Santa Claus when they passed out Social Security and Unemployment checks – both programs of the New Deal – as well as when their "big government" projects like roads, bridges, and highways were built giving a healthy union paycheck to construction workers. They kept raising taxes on businesses and rich people to pay for things, which didn't seem to have much effect at all on working people (wages were steadily going up, in fact), and that made them seem like a party of Robin Hoods, taking from the rich to fund programs for the poor and the working class. Americans loved it. And every time Republicans railed against these programs, they lost elections.
Ronald Reagan was the first national Republican politician to suggest that he could cut taxes on rich people and businesses, that those tax cuts would cause them to take their surplus money and build factories or import large quantities of cheap stuff from low-labor countries, and that the more stuff there was supplying the economy the faster it would grow. George Herbert Walker Bush – like most Republicans of the time – was horrified. Ronald Reagan was suggesting "Voodoo Economics," said Bush in the primary campaign,
Wanniski [American journalist, conservative commentator, and political economist.]
And now Boehner, McCain, Brooks, and the whole crowd are again clamoring to be recognized as the ones who will out-Santa Claus the Democrats
The Two Santa Claus theory isn't dead, as we can see from today's Republican rhetoric. Hopefully, though, reality will continue to sink in with the American people and the massive fraud perpetrated by Wanniski, Reagan, Laffer, Graham, Bush(s), and all their "conservative" enablers will be seen for what it was and is.

Personally, I believe that since January 26, 2009 when the author wrote this piece, Americans have awaken to the Republi-CON "starve the beast" voter supression and Southern tactics.
Americans are hurting and mad at the Republi-CONs for destroying livelihoods.
Bev,
You're entitled to your dreams, have a restful sleep.
The majority of Americans are awake, and they are not so naive to think that its just one side that is responsible for this mess.
Bev:
You need to stop making a damn fool out of yourself. People like you will help make Obama a one term POTUS.
Well NOW! If this aint' the pot calling the kettle black! lmfao!
I was inspired! It was great to finally hear someone stand up and say the exact things that I think. I like the fact that he still believes that America can be Great, and stand alone in world as one of the few places left where freedom for all, is valued. Maybe I'm confused but what is wrong wanting to make the economy better by creating more jobs for Americans, by making it easier for business to operate with less interference from Washington? I think I was fortunate to be born in USA yet for the last 3 years I have been ashamed, embarrassed and even frighten at the certainty that Washington is gaining more power over more people everyday (unemployment, workers comp etc.) Embarrassed by our President who actually apologized to other countries, for America. I am sure that America does not need to apolgize to anyone or any country. Ashamed, at our country, myself included for allowing our Nation to get into this huge economic mess we are in. I liked what Perry had to say and for that I am not ashamed.
Lame.
Too long a stretch.
Apples and oranges.
Is ther another way to say it?
Oh, yeah-
EPIC FAIL!
That's not even a good try.
But, please, keep it up- ypu are making my choice easier and easier. You guys are TERRIFIED of Perry.
Terrified?
a ha, aha ha ha.
ha.
HoJoBloMo:
[But, please, keep it up- ypu are making my choice easier and easier.]
Soooo...in other words, you have to have OTHER people make your choices for you? And here you've portrayed yourself as a "free thinker".
[You guys are TERRIFIED of Perry.]
What is terrifying about Perry is that he thinks that the religious right in this country is a majority, and he is trying his damnest to pander to that "niche voting bloc". I say let Ricky have at it...
...that is the EPIC FAIL for Perry.
...his record, or lack thereof, stands before him...
Not hardly! lol
I'm praying he wins the nomination - I'll even vote for him in the primary! ';o)
Wow, what a stretch, come on this slogan is go generic and a non story.
WOW! Michelle B. won Straw Poll.
Perry said, "Let's get to work again" - That was the mantra the TEA party said when they ran in 2010! They Lied! That's what the TEA party said in 2010! They Lied! They went in and tried to cut the funding for all the legislation passed by the 111th Congress. I hope people see the falseness of the rhetoric! Rick Perry and his TEA party loonies are the ones to blame for the downgrading the USA in the eyes of the world! The downgrading was a political move based on inferred logic amassed with prejudice against the president of the United States! No one should consider Perry the "Architect of Texas' Miracle" because there is "No miracle in Texas." Perry's 34 billion dollar budget deficit smacks of liberal appointments to state agencies for his closest benefactors while throwing Texas' children under the school bus! 17.2% living below the poverty line and first in illiteracy while paying teachers the lowest wages in the country. This career politician became a millionaire on the quarter of the Texas tax payers. Recent data shows he was a C+ cheer leader in college and forces his warped narrow-minded religious belief onto Texas women to get a Sonogram if pregnant. No one has the right to tell any one to get a health procedure except a physician. No one has the right to legislate bedroom privileges or rights anywhere in Texas or America! But this Yahoo and the radical extremes in Texas have done just that! Perry failed to mention the Congress controls the purse string of America and the TEA party swayed their way into Congress promising to bring jobs to America! THEY LIED!
that was a deficit for a TWO year budget cycle, and I am proud to say that the Texas legislature as required by our State constitution, made the necessary cuts to balance the budget, not borrow like the feds. The school funding was needed, they get too much money and waste it on fancy administration buildings and huge football stadiums instead of keeping teachers. As far as the poverty rate and illiteracy rate, if you took all the illegals out of the equation, the state data would come out much better. And last time I checked Perry hasn't instituted a state religion in Texas.
