VIDEO: Best of the campaign trail: Bachmann on Newsweek, Romney on donor

Here's a wrap up of Republicans on the trail yesterday, including Michele Bachmann's response to a Newsweek cover featuring her, Mitt Romney on his mystery donor, and Jon Huntsman defending his support of the debt deal and sidestepping whether the Tea Party is to blame for the downgrade.

Video shot by NBC campaign embeds Garrett Haake, Jamie Novogrod, and Alex Moe.

Newsweek really missed the boat on this one - they should of included Marcus...

He's SO much more photogenic! lol

Don't really like to comment on candidate spouses/families but...

That dude (Marcus) is just plain weird

Now what makes Rep Bachmann unelectable in my eyes are the flip flops e.g accepted federal money for this and that but at the same time railing against govt spending.

Really?! no joe says "weird" is code for Mormon. Who knew?

But they were just Lutheran a few weeks ago. I get so confused.

Anyway. What makes Bachmann unelectable in MY eyes is HER eyes -- @_@

More smear tactics from msm, or I should say olm (Old Liberal Media).

Proof that liberalism is the philosophy of the adolescent: whiny, insecure, full of big crazy ideas that have no proctical application in the real world, and with a tragically inflated sense of entitlement!

Haha, I must have made a freudian slip.... however the country must feel like it's going through an unwanted proctologist's exam by this administration! .......ouch, painful indeed!

America, just look at those GOP candidates. Aren't they something? Romney has a million dollar donor who formed a company for the sole purpose of donating a $1 million to Mitt. Bachmann is, well, a brick short of a load; she doesn't understand economics any better than she does history; the only thing she does understand is her religion--wait, she quit her church. Cain is outraged that folks call the S&P downgrade the Tea Party downgrade and instead blames President Obama for the Bush/GOP massive debt--he should read the explanation which clearly blames the GOP. Huntsman makes sense one minute but loses credibility the minute he tries to claim credit for Boehner regarding a "balanced" approach to the debt problem--Boehner who said NO to closing tax loopholes and increasing tax revenues by simply walking out of the negotiations.

she actually looks kind of like the lady in the bright blue outfit and dark, tied-back hair in the Metamucill ad.

Neat.

Say- I wonder how hard it would be to click on the little + sign, and bring back the collaped comments, and read 'em anyway??

You are right, but, when she does it, somehow thats different. Much like when the Republicans were spending money, that was different than now. Even though the money being spent now is to repair the damage done by the spending then.

On the other hand, that picture is juat downright scary. Remeber the 3 A.M. phone call? Wake up next to that when the phone rings. Better than a hot cup of coffee on a cold winter morning to get one going.

True... don't recall all the outrage between 2001 - 2009 from the "conservatives" in Congress regarding spending under a "conservative" President.

Bachmann is right to ignore this issue, that doesnt mean it isnt a big deal for journalism.

Newsweek covers on Republicans are deliberately photoshopped to make the Republicans look weird ...

While numerous worshipful Newsweek Obama covers literally put a halo around his head...

Which reflects the credibility of their articles....zero..

I was furious with the New Yorker for the cartoon they put on their cover of Michelle and Barack Obama as 60's radicals. Also, I hated the outrageous caricature of Mark Warner on the cover of the Sunday New York Times magazine in 2008. That was so unfair to Warner, I still don't know why they went with that ugly drawing.

Uh, oh, am I diminishing the import of this slightly less than flattering picture of Bachmann on a news magazine? Why, yes, I believe I am.

    Amy,

Mark Warner is one of the few Democrats whom I think could be a good President...nonetheless, crude caricatures may be annoying, but are not fraudulent..

Photoshopping by subtly changing the eye focus in a picture , to make bachmann look weird..(this was also done to Condy Rice by AP in 2005) .....photoshopping halos around Obama's head, to flatter his appearance . That is flat dishonest .

Looks like newsweek is attempting to create a satire on bachman with such a photo. However the best satire cover has to go to the July 21, 2008 "new yorker" cover of ...

a cartoon of Michelle Obama as a afro-wearing, gun toting militant and Barack Obama is depicted dressed wearing traditional Muslim garb. They were greeting each other with a “fist bump”, with an American flag burning in the fireplace, and a portrait of Osama Bin Laden on the wall of the Oval Office – the image was drawn by Barry Blitt.

Michele Bachmann has and does show that it is easy to rant and rave, its easy to show rage. I wonder, though, how she would handle any crisis this country may face were she to be elected president. She has already stated that she would allow the economy to crash, rather than help the country, and by extension the president. How much hate does she have for the president anyway? And how much of her hate can the country afford?

Instead of running for president, Bachmann, MAYBE you should just be satisfied with being the head of the Tea Party Caucus AND seriously look into getting some plastic surgery done for that crow's feet you have going on around the eyes.

I know that you're getting government money for your farm; but I find that jowls are MORE flattering on pigs and cows; the baby ones that you are growing are scaring the hell out of me.
