Bachmann: 'Principles over party'

SPENCER, IA -- Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann said she puts "principles over party" and is prepared, if elected, to be a one-term president. "So be it," she said today.

Bachmann spoke here to a crowd of about 150 people gathered at picnic tables at a local park, using a dry erase board to tally up the nation's $14.3 trillion debt, as well as warn against future spending. At one point, the dry erase board fell from the stand and Bachmann quipped, to laughs: "See, that's what will happen to the country if we don't stop spending."

The 45-minute speech also included comments on foreign policy. Bachmann vowed to draw a harder line against Iran's nuclear program, and criticized President Obama for ending the shuttle program. "Now, to get to space, we have to stick out our thumbs and ask for a ride from Russia," she said.

A woman in the audience interrupted to ask, "Can we change that?"

"Yes," Bachmann said. "It's called 2012."

No, Mishie, that was God telling you to stop your bull@!$%#ting.

The GOP better jettison this idiot while they have the chance...but it seems even THEY think she can be a useful idiot until she is no longer needed...much like Allen West and Rand Paul.

It's gonna be a hoot to watch the Republicans chew her up and spit her out.

lol, Feisty and Mickey...

Let's see what President Obama's 'principles' are...

And what deal he strikes with the GOP on the debt ceiling.

I hope you'll both be as vocal then...as you are now.

I'll want to hear you both...loud and clear.

Don't let me down, Feisty...

I like principles. So Bachmann doesn't care for the Reid bill on principle, and I just heard Pelosi doesn't like it either on principle. Since the word "Principle" starts with the letter "P", that means Bachmann and Pelosi have joined the "P" Party.

Feisty-

I only care about you to the extent that you're going to support President Obama's deal with the GOP to raise the debt ceiling.

Will you be supporting whatever deal our President makes with the GOP, Feisty?

Are you supporting whatever deal the President cuts with the GOP?

As Feisty will?

I'm open to arguments opposing President Obama's decision...in the unlikely event you have the stones to offer one.

I'm guessing you don't, Mickey.

Still...I'm listening.

Impotent, Feisty?

In political terms, isn't that term more appropriately apllied to President Obama?

And again...

Won't you be supporting any agreement the President strikes with Speaker Boehner and Senator McConnell?

Tell me you won't, Feisty.

Tell me you have sincere liberal/progressive principles that prevent any sell-out to the GOP.

Then, Feisty...

Prove it.

But...

You can't.

You won't.

And, you know it.

Just scrolled through the posts above, and someone is Mixed up. If progressives are anything, it's that they express dissent and criticism within the Democrat Party, maybe a little too much. It is Republicans with their 11th commandment who behave like the Borg who can't express unhappiness with their own Party policies (deficits, wars, etc.) until the Democrats have control.

Every time President Obama has negotiated too far to the right of center, he is shredded by his own Party. Now, will progressives start supporting Teabag terrorists instead? Hell no! In fact, governors like Walker, Scott, etc. and House freshman like Joe Walsh and presidential candidates like Bachmann are only firing up the base to get out the vote and boot their sorry arses out of office. The GOP/TP is SO bad, the president could kill a puppy on live TV and will still look way better.

Yes,Michelle was in greatform at the picinic.

But some one ought to ask what priciples? She voted for the Ryan plan that had a $2.4 trillion increase in the defict. Yesteday she votred against a $900 Billion increase. Yesterdayshe voted for a balanced Budget Amerndment that takes 7 year to pass -and it took the ERA longer-and theERA failed. Yet, the goverment runs out of creditline NOW!

And the Ryan Plan called for a $24 Trillion defict. The current one is $14 trillion.

What priciple is that Ms Bachmann?

Is it the priciple that your husband will not longer be paid for taking medicare patients? That you farm subsideis willno longer come through? Is it that your loans are garanteed by the Feredal goverment through Feddie Mac and Fannie Mae? Wher were your priciples then when you took out the applications?

What priciples did you stand on as a prolife person when You voted against pregnant women being able toobtain health insurance without insurers taking a nose dive calling it a "pre-existing condition? What priciple do you stand on deyin medical care to the unborn?

And this isn't the first itme, Ms Bachmann. You voted agaist SChip-the children's health plan-protecting children and giving them acess to medical care. From themoment of birth you voted agiasnt them-and that's after they were already born. What pro-life pricnplie did you stand on?

Pricniple don't mean much when YOU apply for the loans ans whatever. When some one else does then theyare well-PRICIPLES.

The only principle you have is youself.

Bachman doesn't count her chicklets before she chews the wad in her mouth. Not to worry my dear, IT won't be.

ONE HUNDRED hand picked Tea People can't be wrong.

And space? The only space you could possibly be familiar with is between your ears and from past behavior you've revealed you have absolutely no clue as to how crazy you are perceived. Space? Really? How you gonna pay for it when all you can say is cut?

Not surprised. He controls messaging quite well here at home; though the heat from a Presidential run could raise a whole lotta muck to the surface. It is there though. Just turn up the heat, bring him to a boil and watch the ka-ka-moo hay ooze out of the cracks in his make-up.

Mr. Bachman doeth protest too much doesn't he Fiesty. That is one very fortunate coupling to have born or adopted so many revenue streams. He is definitely the stay at home Dad with a penchant for blithering on in support of his meal ticket "family".

I say hypocrite cubed he is. Among other more obvious and charming qulaities he just can't seem to own. As Mr. T used to say: Pity the fool.

So, I guess one of her 'principles' is to lie. It was President George W. Bush that put an end to the shuttle program. He mandated the Shuttle be retired, President Obama had nothing to do with it.

Saying "she got her facts wrong" lets her off the hook way too easy. The reality is --- this "PRINCIPLED" candidate will lie whenever the facts don't fit into her distorted filled world. She's 100% fraud and she knows it.

The monumental level of delusion necessary to see Bachmann as a viable presidential candidate is so great that I really don't see how you people do it! (What OTHER goofily wrong things do you also believe with all your heart? Yikes!) I can tell from your posts that you really, truly, honestly believe that this woman's views will resonate with the American public to the extent that they will elect her to the highest office in the land.

Yet I look at the very same woman and see a ditzy, unwise, unworldly attention-seeking extremist whose politics are to the right of the John Birch Society and are way, WAY outside of the mainstream of American thought. I see someone who will be eliminated VERY early from the presidential primaries.

Let's make a deal. If through some mischance Bachmann does not become president after all, please remember this post and think to yourself, grudgingly if necessary, "Well, I guess Bernie was right this time." If Bachmann DOES become president, I will remember this thread and think "By God, they were right," as I make plans to leave the country.

            Deal?

              Reply#12 - Mon Aug 1, 2011 6:44 AM EDT

Bachmann is going nowhere. Like Palin before her, she makes a big splash when nothing else is going on. When REAL voters start casting votes for REAL candidates, she will be forgotten. Americans do not vote for radical, fanatical extremist like her.

                Reply#13 - Mon Aug 1, 2011 7:42 AM EDT

Bachmann needs to Explain to the American People, "Why her Clinic, billed our Taxpayer Medicare for 10s of thousands of dollars for VO-DOO practices on our gay community! And what big insurance corporations, payed for this also. Sounds real "Fishy" to me?????
