If nothing else House Speaker Boehner now knows how it feels to have to deal with a bunch of right wing radicals that just do not want to compromise. Mr. Boehner be careful for what you wish for.

"Going for Broke" - Yep, that is exactly what the GOP/TP wants to happen - We as a Nation go broke while the select 2% lives high off the hog. What a plan.

See you all there. Play nice.

It has become painfully obvious that Boehner is getting nowhere with irresponsible and intransigent Tea Party members.

Maybe it's time that he and other sensible House Republicans move their chairs to the Democrat side of the aisle.

Perhaps THAT will get the Tea Party to budge.

Hey, Feisty-

I've been watching Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) on CNN.

He says that, as a House member, he actually voted for a balanced budget amendment.

Can you believe it?

Sherrod Brown, Feisty!

He voted for a balanced budget amendment, and isn't philosophically opposed to the notion.

What do YOU think, Feisty girl?

Can you ask Mark what he thinks?

I’ve been self-employed paying 15% off the top Social Security for 52 years. Ballpark, my payment averaged $5000. Assuming the government values my payments same as their borrowed money for which they pay over 5% interest, it is reasonable to assume my out of pocket payments value now is over $1 million.

I started getting about $22,500 Social Security last year. I opted for Medicare B which I’m charged $1,310 a year for. I used a doctor twice in the first year, Medicare B paid about $240 and I paid $60. I didn’t tap Medicare A at all the first year.

It’s not welfare money, it’s money I earned by working, and paid out of my wallet. To me it’s a retirement account.

Assuming any cost of living tack on is equal to ongoing interest my account should hold out over 45-50 years. It’s not likely I’ll last till age 112-117.

Aye, there's the rub. I don't think they see it quite the same way. At least that's not what I see when I look at my own report.

It's a retirement account for me, too. That's what it's supposed to be.

The Boehner plan just passed in the House. Hang on to your wallet. You and your money are going for a ride. We all are.

No doubt about that, AM. Speaking of which I see the newest "new" plan insists that both House and Senate PASS a balanced budget amendment.

I can barely see the goalposts now, but I think the GOPTP has them sitting over there by the pitcher's mound.

Dang is it Friday already? Don’t time fly when you’re having
fun?

Looks like we’ve got the politics pretty well covered this
week and I see that nobodies come to any permanent harm. Hope everybody takes
the week end and rubs the bruises and scrapes a little and shows up bright and
early Monday morning for another go round. Looks like it’s going to be an
interesting week.

Just a couple of things we missed this week while we were
distracted.

Walter Reed closed its doors after 102 years of taking care
of Presidents and Privates and everything in between. Maybe brings a tear to
the eye for this particular command but hopefully thru consolidation the new
and improved version will continue to offer the best we can do for our wounded
warriors.

Norway is starting to bury their dead from last Friday.
There are no words for such unspeakable tragedy. Killing a child is never justified
I don’t care what your religious beliefs or inclinations.

Atlantis marked the last Shuttle Mission. Forever. NASA shuts the door and lays off 4000. Ever
wonder how we got to the point that we were so concerned with nickel and
dimeing one another we forgot to take care of the big things that made us
great.

Floyd and Betty are sponsoring another party down at the Dew
Drop Inn this week end. Seems like while we were waiting for Speaker Boehner
and the Dysfunctional Idiot Chorus that they named us a post office after the
Inn. ‘Course it’ll probably have to
close down come Monday or Tuesday so use it or lose it. Got a little bit of the
Icebergs and such like left over from last week and most everybody’s is still
sporting a bad head from last week so we expect things to be a little more
subdued.

As always my thanks and appreciation to our hosts for their
time, giving me a little place to stand, a subject to comment on, a forum to
put it in, and their indulgence when I don’t quite get it right or get a little
off subject. I purely do appreciate it. Hope you’ll have a fine weekend and
good fun among folks that you know and love. To my fellow participants keep
well, keep safe, and keep the faith. We’ll make it. See you’ll next week

Drive- By I’m thinking a little “It’s My Party and I’ll Cry
If I Want Too” by Miss Leslie Gore in honor of Mr. Boehner and his epic fail
this week ought to kick us off just right. Be right comical if it wasn’t going
to cost all of us so d@mned much. Let’s get the party started before the RH ex
ST figures out a way to not have a vote on raising my debt limit.

The food is fantastic, quite a spread. Clara, I ate my one ripe tomato from my garden and it will be at least 2 more weeks before more are ready so that hit the spot. I'll have what Northstar's having, a gin and tonic.

Here's another juke box ditty for Mr. Boehner, "Tears of a Clown".

I feel a bit sorry for Boehner but not a lot, the GOP brought these TPers on themselves and now they're stuck with them for another 18 months--unfortunately, so are we.

Just heard Iowa's own TPer, Steve King, tell Michael Smerconish he's still voting NO, it doesn't cut enough spending. Former Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack (D) is running against King in 2012--and she's already got money to do it. I hope she can beat him, Iowa could use a woman in Congress.

Looks like the "sad tangerine" will live for another day. The Teabaggers narrowly passed the POS, er I mean the CC&B-rigged Boehner bill. If this became law the markets would crash as bad as if there's a default. Thankfully it's DOA in the senate. What a preposterous waste of oxygen.

Congratulations to Speaker Boehner, the only one in Washington backing up his rhetoric and passing sensible and intelligent legislation that benefits the American people.

The Democrats, they of course are against anything that prevents them from borrowing and spending trillions of dollars. It takes a lot of political payoffs to their lobbying groups to buy those votes and that money has to come from somewhere. They (the Democrats) aren't used to working for the American people seeing they are owned by the unions, the lawyers, and the big corporations like GE.

Of course now Reid will pop out of his hole in the ground, rub his beady little eyes and rant that the House bill is DOA in his Senate. You just can't spend enough, can you Harry? Apparently you can't pass a bill of your own either, because you haven't done so since this all began.

Speaker Boehner though backs up what he says with real legislation. Harry and Barry now get to have their latest hissy fit because someone is taking away their checkbook.

The score is now Boehner 2, Obama/Reid zero.

This is the second bill passed in the House, vs. Nothing in the Senate. Thus far, Reid's bill is remarkable in its resemblance to Obama's- that is to say, it seems to exist only in his mind.

Pass one or the other,Harry. Obama hit 40% approval in today's Gallup- with 50% disapproval. You may not be up next year, but.a lot of your fellow Democrats are going before the voters.

It ain't lookin' pretty.

On a news panel, one of the contributors said Peggy Noodles is like a sixth grader who dislikes the smart kid in the class (and just more lack of civility from conservative #$%&! like her).

And hardy-har-har that Boehner's plan was "real legislation." It couldn't be scored by the CBO (because it was a bluff), then fell short when scored, then he couldn't get the votes for it until he caved to the Teabaggers and made it the CC&B they already voted on.

It's not a second bill passed in the House, it's the same friggin' bill passed twice.

Is Altzheimer Reid going to give us his long awaited piece of garbage for a bill. It doesn't matter it won't get the votes it needs. The Tea Party reps have shown the Republican Senators how to stick to their principles. The only compromise you'll be getting from the Republicans is to raise the debt ceiling if cut, cap and trade are passed. And just remember if you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you weren't a racist, vote for someone else in 2012 to prove your not stup!d

There are many legitimate criticisms you could level against Obama, particularly about his governing style or his personality. But calling him a “loser” was uncalled for. -- http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-partisan/post/peggy-noonan-wrong-to-call-obama-a-loser-or-not-loved/2011/03/04/gIQANC0vhI_blog.html

The president is the leader of the free world, whereas Peggy Noonan has diminished herself to nothing but a pitiful pundit. As such, calling Peggy "Noodles" is justified because she has no class. JS1 is a piece of work (though others on this board may have different terms for her).

Back on topic, taking the debt ceiling to the wire and the negative repercussions resulting from that is deplorable. However, the gamble, "stategery," machinations or what ever delusion the Tealiban operates under is welcome to me as it shows their true "bizarro" nature to the nation. Just as Christine O'Donnell, Sharron Angle and others were rejected by voters once they were vetted, this hostage-taking refusal to compromise will also be rejected in the 2012 election.

It may take more time for FOX viewers to learn the true nature of some of the douche-bags like Joe Walsh, but these anarchists will be exposed. This stunt just gives the media, Dems, etc. more reason to investigate who these freshman are.

I get it now! JoAnna, nojoe, Bob Jones, et al....ya'll just couldn't stand one single day of 2011 without the ranting and raving about Obama, so are supporting a measure to be doing this until January. Of course the "spending surplus" that Bush sent back would not have made a bit of difference in the level of debt the US now carries had it been used to start paying that down. As long as a Republican says carry debt then it's ok.

Well since we rely on Veterans' Disability Compensation & Social Security our family will be paying off debt so when the baggers and their road dogs are done, at least we won't be foreclosed after the bust.

What do the gang of you figure 401Ks will be worth this January? How much of the losses will be offset by even more risky foreign investment?

Figure we'll get the guys & gals out of Iraq & Afghanistan quicker? How many will actually have jobs to come home to?

As a business major, I'll predict now - this holiday season will be the worst in history, manufacturers will not produce the number of goods they have in the past and retailers aren't going to order large quantities of anything they will end up paying higher interest on if unsold at January 1 inventory time.

The entire balanced budget issue, the entire reworking of the budget to cut back should NEVER have been bundled with the debt ceiling increase. Bye Bye whatever was even a shred of hope of recovery.

If you're a gramma, you've perhaps read "The Emperor's New Clothes". Cause, that is what we have here.

The stimulous was a windfall for Obama's donors- no investor in his or her right mind would invest half a billion in an electric car company, but Steve Westly got that much of OUR money- after bundling half a million for Obama in 2008. Harry Reid combined with Obama to get another big bundler another half a billion- to build wind turbines in China.

I guess that's where all those jobs "saved or created" are- in China. Unemployment would be 12% if BLS had not shifted millions of people out of the labor force. You really think the labor force contracted that much in just two years?

GDP is reported out at an initial 1.3%. Well, let's look at the first quarter- reported out at 1.8%, adjusted to 1.6%, readjusted to 1.9%, then OOPS, our mistake- revised again to reflect something closer to the truth- 0.4%. Fourth quarter of 2010- same story.

The fact is, GDP is negative. All of the data going in reflects that- but Commerce will wait until the fifth or sixth adjustment to report the truth.

Meanwhile, after his temper tantrum on national television, followed by a speech full of empty rhetoric, we learn that the pretender is not sleeping because he is so worried about the debt crisis, and, in even more "terrible" news-

His birthday party might have to go on without him! Yes, folks, they already had to cancel two fundraisers, (I guess sending Biden was out of the question?), and, now, those paying $38,500 a plate- you know, the little people- will have to make do with Jennifer Hudson, but no Obama. Poor dear.

Well, this "loser"- to quote Peggy Noonan- is destroying MY country. Wrecking his birthday just does not register very high with me.

Considering the polls, I don't think it resonates with the electorate, either.

The Courts will overturn any reference to the 14th amendment as a basis for the Executive Branch raising the debt ceiling because Congress alone has the right to pass budgets, coin money and incur debt. The balance of powers in the original Constitution 'trumps' unspecified later matter (ie. 14th amendment).

Just think for a moment if George W. Bush invoked the 14th amendment to fund his wars. We all would be justifiably livid. President Obama is a constitutional scholar, after all, and so would not want to suffer the loss of support (not to mention the acrimony) over any perceived power grab.

    Once more, slowly-

The new democratic talking point- that the debt ceiling needs to be raised to cover funds already spent- is pure, patent NONSENSE.

The 14th Amendment DOES NOT take the power of the purse away from congress.

If Obama chooses to allocate that power to himself, he will be impeached. They can add to the Bill of Impeachment his misallocation of TARP funds- which were to be returned to the Treasury, rather than spent- and his corrupt commitment of tax payer monies to his donors.

In an historic, unprecedented move, I'm pretty sure the Senate will vote to convict. The idea of running for reelection with Obama on the top of the ticket is pretty unpalatable for 23 Senators- all Democrats.

Here's a better idea- since Obama is a proven failure on the economy, the debt, and foreign policy, why does not MSNBC offer him a show? They seem to have an opening. I'm sure he will be a ratings draw, so MSNBC wins, and with Obama out of the White House, the country wins.

We won't even have to wait for 2013, and all the destruction he can bring about in a year and a half. I knew he'd be bad, but even I did not know HOW bad. He redefines disaster.

Regrets? For two years, House and Senate republicans stood in a line of opposition to anything and everything democrats tried to do. If President Obama supported something the GOP suggested, they immediately reversed their position--they obstructed, delayed, denied, refused to compromise. It is amazing that President Obama together with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid passed the volume of massive legislation and smaller legislation as they did.

Think what could have been done for the economy, for jobs creation, for the people if instead of opposing, instead of refusing to compromise, republicans had simply met democrats in the middle. Yesterday, Speaker Boehner met his own "Waterloo" in the form of Tea-publicans who stood in a line of opposition to anything he tried to negotiate. They obstructed, delayed, denied and refused to compromise.

One can only say that you reap what you sow. Any regrets, Speaker Boehner, Minority Leader McConnell? Think what might have been if you had been willing to meet in the middle and work with democrats those first two years. Today, democrats would have worked with you to pass a reasonable, bi-partisan debt ceiling increase with sensible and targeted spending cuts planned for the future good of the country and you would not have needed to sell your soul to the Tea-publicans to do it. Instead, the line of opposition you drew in the sand for President Obama, is now the line the Tea Party drew for you. The country and the American people have suffered longer than they should have because you drew a line of opposition in the sand on January 20, 2009, simply to win the next election.

Pray tell, just what have the Dems and Obama tried to do since his election? The only action they have taken is the fool's errand healthcare bill which has lended to the bankrupting of America. This administration, the one choaotically headed by Barack Hussein Obama, is a failed administration totally and clearly. He and his comrades are incompetent. His supporters mainly either pay not taxes whatsoever or they are totally on the federal, state, or local government dole. That's almost 50% of the voting public, and Obama is trying to make sure he is re-elected. We are headed towards Civil War II, and the far-left is too stupid to see and realize this fact.

I've been self-employed paying 15% off the top Social Security for 52 years. Ballpark, my payment averaged $5000. Assuming the government values my payments same as their borrowed money for which they pay over 5% interest, it is reasonable to assume my out of pocket payments value now is over $1 million.

I started getting about $22,500 Social Security last year. I opted for Medicare B which I'm charged $1,310 a year for. I used a doctor twice in the first year, Medicare B paid about $240 and I paid $60. I didn't tap Medicare A at all the first year.

It's not welfare money, it's money I earned by working, and paid out of my wallet. To me it's a retirement account.

Assuming any cost of living tack on is equal to ongoing interest my account should hold out 45-50 years. It's not likely I'll last till age 112-117.

If SS is the only retirement account you have, then you are in a hell of a lot of trouble. SS is the retirement crutch. It is enough to make you want to defend it and continue coming back for more. It is not nearly enough to help you get off the government dole. Therefore, like millions of Americans, you are royally screwed and you keep supporting Obama because you are addicted to his brand of insufficient largesse.

I see the following action taking place:

        1) The congress will grant a debt ceiling increase between $500 Billion - $1 Trillion, for a period of 3 to 6 months. It will be a clean bill with nothing attached, just like the other ones before.

        2) Obama will have no choice but to sign it. Remember we have never had a debt ceiling increase over $1 Trillion nor for more than 12 months, to the best of my knowledge. Remember blinked on the Bush tax cuts, by saying he only did it to save unemployment benefits for out of work people. So why would he not blink and claim he did so to save all the retirees on S.S., military retirees, active duty military and medicare payments.

Ask who to place the blame at their feet. CitiBank called this insanity! World Bank chief commenting! Now that's news of interest! A representative of the World commenting! What should have been a "Congressional Housekeeping" Debt increase has turned into a "partisan three-ring circus" directly effecting the credit rating of the federal government. Where are US banks and who are they working with to fix this problem? Where do Realtors stand on this? Does anyone really care? Have you called your congressperson and Senator? If you haven't, your wasting time! Time we do not have!

          Reagan said:
"Unfortunately, Congress consistently brings the government to the edge of default before facing its responsibility. This brinkmanship threatens the holders of government bonds and those who rely on Social Security and veterans benefits. Interest markets would skyrocket. Instability would occur in financial markets and the federal deficit would soar.
"The United States has a special responsibility to itself and the world to meet its obligations. It means we have a well-earned reputation for reliability and credibility -- two things that set us apart in much of the world."

This is what I heard them saying.

"We Republicans love spending on wars, some of which are unnecessary.

We would rather spend billions of dollars on unnecessary wars than spend on the American people.

We believe that spending on war IS NOT spending, and we are ready to spend billions of dollars on war.

The only spending that we Republicans hate and are asking the Democrats to stop is the spending on the

American people who include Seniors, Veterans, Students, Laid off workers and the present needy

children; (we are not that concerned about today's children the way we are with the future children and grand children).

If we really want to win in 2012, let us not raise the debt ceiling because it will make the economy grow

and that will be bad for us. Our failure to raise will make many people suffer and when that happens, we

will stand a better chance of winning in 2012. We want to create a situation that will make people believe

the Democrats are not good. We must therefore sabotage the economy by all means available. Refusing to raise the debt ceiling is just one of them.

We must also make sure we do not complete our famous statement and must always leave it hanging as 'stop spending'. If we make a mistake of completing it as 'stop spending on the American people', our hidden agenda may be exposed and we will look bad before the people.

We are lucky that the Democrats have never pushed us into completing our famous incomplete sentence."

            OBAMA'S COLLEGE CLASSMATE SPEAKS OUT

By Wayne Allyn Root , June 6th, 2010
Barack Hussien Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent.
To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing.
He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure,
economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and
            our country from within.

Barack Hussien Obama was my college classmate

            ( Columbia University , class of '83).
He is a devout Muslim do not be fooled.
            Look at his Czars...anti-business..anti- american.
As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Barack Hussien Obama is
following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University .
They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system
with government spending and entitlement demands.

Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming.
Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn
the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority
that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted
on to always vote for bigger government.

Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

Universal health care . The health care bill had very little to do with health
care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and
health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions).
Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans
will add trillions to the national debt.
What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government ..
Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill
in the middle of a depression?

Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with
health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming.
It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control
of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors.
Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns
NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants.
They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to
Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power.
The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars,
bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state?
Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government
entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression?
            Certainly not American taxpayers.
But this has been Barack Hussien Obama's plan all along.
His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

Legalize 12 million illegal Mexican immigrants.
Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America .
But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted
            on to support big government.
Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children,
food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and
            eventually Social Security ..

Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go?
It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country.
It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could
            keep paying union dues.
It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out
(after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions).
A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues).

All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their
bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America .
The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful.
            The ends justify the means.

Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job
creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers,
redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did
nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama).
Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Barack Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition. With the acts outlined above, Barack Hussien Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the
            system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by
my Columbia University college classmate Barack Hussien Obama
using the Cloward and Piven Plan .

                  Fiesty & Missy

You must be drinking too much of Obama's kool-aid mixture and it has affected your thinking process, pr have you always had the mentality of first graders.

My guess is that you two were excluded from taking your meds today so you are just bouncing off walls and rattling chains.

Maybe you two would feel more comfortable reading your comic books and letting those of us that are more knowledgeable on the subject do the comments. I'm afraid that you lack the ability to comprehend everything that has been said and your little closed minds can't get a grip on things when facts are given . Why don't you two just run along and play?

Attempts at controlling is your thing, I merely suggested because I hate watching people struggle in their attempts at proving they aren't losers. If you lay down with dogs, you will wake up with fleas. You and Missy should go see a vet real soon. Your case may already be hopeless. Obama and the Dimwits have totally infested you with lies and promises that were never meant to be kept. It was all just part of Obama's scheme.

leave it to MSNBC to ask the question can Republican govern

Govern? Remeber these are the very folks who want to drown goverment in the bathtub-as their fearless plage leader gover Norquist likes to say. What would they want to govern, pray tell?

They soud like Trotsky in the State and Revolution where Trotsky talks about the state withering away.

"at some point the state will no longer be needed, and it will wither away"

There's sort of a direct connection between Grover Norqust and Trotsky here- sort of anarchist nirvana. the state is withered or drown and life become rose petals.

Unfortunately they forget Tom Paine's short course on government in Common sense."were men angels, goverment would not be needed..goverment is the badge of innocence lost". Goverment, he said ,serves as a restaiant. Calivin in his Institutes has a dimmer view of men"Men left to themselves would scratcht each other's eyes out"

The best clue on goverment is the pople around the leader. they rellect him, Machvelli writes And when we think of Joe Wash who pleds pverty on $174,000 a year and owes his kids $100,000-this doesn't reassure us at all. When we find that 3 weeks before a major speech denouncing Feddie and Fannie of the mortage world, Michelle Bachmann got a mortgage from the very folks she denounces. What bold courge! Denouncing the loans after they are made...

There a pattern here-farm subidies-gotten and then denounced. Medicare funds-gottna nd then denouced; mortagess.-the very same.

Can they govern? Onlyif they fell good and guilty abou tit...

This is what I heard them saying.

"We Republicans love spending on wars, some of which are unnecessary like the Iraq war.

We would rather spend billions of dollars on unnecessary wars than spend it on the American people.

We believe that spending on war IS NOT spending, and we are ready to spend even more on any war.

The only spending that we Republicans hate and are asking the Democrats to stop is the spending on

the American people who include Seniors, Veterans, Students, Laid off workers and the present needy

children; (we are not that concerned about today's children. Let them die if their parents have got no jobs to support them. Our concern is with the future children and grand children).

If we really want to win in 2012, we must not vote to raise the debt ceiling because it will make the

economy grow and that will be bad for us Republicans. Our failure to raise the debt ceiling will make many

Americans suffer and when that happens, we will stand a better chance of winning in 2012. We want to

create a situation that will make people believe the Democrats are not good. We must therefore sabotage

the economy by all means available. Refusing to raise the debt ceiling is just one of them.

We must also make sure we do not complete our famous statement and must always leave it hanging as

'stop spending'. If we make a mistake of completing it as 'stop spending on the American people', our

hidden agenda may be exposed and we will look bad before the people.

We are lucky that the Democrats have never pushed us into completing our famous incomplete statement."

Great post Sam. I have been concerned with Gov't spending for a long time. There's plenty of blame for both sides of the aisle for this mess that we find ourselves in and make no mistake it is a mess. I will thank the TP for one reason and one reason only; we do need to get our fiscal house in order and fast. Our country has got to control itself. The frustrating thing for me is the political demonization of the left as if this debt problem is our fault. Repulicans and Democrats are both to blame. I agree completly with my Republican neighbors that spending is a problem but I disagree with the fact that revenue isn't. Our government is necessary. It provides services that society must have. The private sector is NOT going to supply police, firefighters, soldiers, food inspectors, roads/bridges, student loans, etc... We must start working to reign in debt and work within a budget but not to the detriment of our future. We must remain competitive or fall behind.

One last thing and I would love to hear a reasoned answer to this question. If cutting taxes stimulates investment and economic growth, then why hasn't it happened yet? How low must we cut taxes before we grow our way out of debt? To me, this is a tired argument. Please help me understand why it's not.

Keith you ask a valid question, I would humbly remind you its important not to fall for the twisted version of what "conservatives" believe (at least this conservative) with regard to taxes and tax cuts. We are not unwilling to pay taxes, which is often the manipulated talking point. Higher taxes are ALWAYS shifted to the backs of the middle class at the end of the day. Always have, always will.

Right now, I feel strongly against A SINGLE DOLLAR of new taxes when the government has proven they can not manage our money without pi$$ing it away via hundreds of billions of dollars in waste, fraud and duplication (this is even shown by their own internal reporting). This position is compounded further by the fact that spending has recently grown at a rate never before seen in our country's history, and now...they want more to feed the sloppy beast.

In addition the same group of lame, incompetent liars (no, not just Dems) continue to bamboozle (borrowed this term from Obama) the American people by throwing our money at every little problem and disguising it as leadership

Now we're talking. I completly agree with you as my only concern with more taxes is more wasteful spending. The debate has centered mostly around entitlements and not around defense spending. Do you think as a conservative that defense spending should be on the table? If so, how much and in what relation to cuts in Social Security and Medicare?

I want to put my input on this social security cut's or completly cut off as

I am disable and 80 million americans are. If I am emailing this to the wrong

place please foward it to the correct area. If this is going to be signed, think

about all of the Americans that will die, nursing home residents, social

security denies 1-5 for several years. I only get SSI. A good thought is the

people that get full benifits which is wrong to, to cut that back as if we can

barely live on the 674.00 a month. The cost of living is so high and we've not

had any incress on our checks in two years. I understand this may hurt the

working people who worked for the full social security but it would help. The

people who own big bussiness cut back on them, pull our troops back home

and end the war as the two men is dead and mission accomplished! When President Obama was elected, his "Changes" went from bad to worse. Millons of people are talking about this on facebook, ect. If we were not disable we wouldn't be getting any social security, you have to be found disable. I know one man has no arms and he was denied two times. There are many people out there needs to be investagated. while being on Social Security, people who work under the table, people who is a

payee for their children and the child gets nothing, called "Abuse" I know of

two mothers myself does this and no telling how many others are in the united states. All of this needs to be thought of before anyone passes anything. Congress, The President and the senators have nothing to worry about really. I'd that truly needs our social security or SSI, there are many other ways to cut give anything if I could work, but I can't, many cant, many are dying and we back and save, but pay the people whom are disable. One giant step is~ Pull our troops and stop spending un-nessary money over there. This War has lasted way to long and it's hurting the USA. I pray of the mercey of the Lord that we continue getting our disibility. How many people do you think will die or kill themself because they are unable to live? And when the Lord sends his son "Jesus" to take his chosen people, No man kind can hurt his Children and if our Social Security, Medicade and Madicare is stopped, you will be judged by him. There are other ways! Bring our troops home, leave our money in America, not another country. Thats why we are broke, actually we're not. ALL REPOST this message as our voices need to be heard, the people, not the President, Senators and Congress. Us the people against it, they cant cut it off. 80 Million people have to live! In Jesus name I pray! Amen.....

Debbie, thank you for your post tonight. Your voice needs to be heard. I agree that the 80 million people who are disabled should not be afraid that your benefits will be cut. This is the richest country in the world.Living on $674.00 a month must be a huge struggle for you. We need to cut wastefull spending but not SS and SSi. The government needs to work for all of its citizens, both you, me, and all people. i am a middle class person that works. I am happy to pay my taxes to make sure the government works for you and all of us.Others who are rich can also contribute in solving this problem of not enough revenue.

I hope you emailed or called your representatives and the president. i did and got a two page letter from my congresswoman today in the mail. she is willling tovote for a solution but not on the backs of people who are receiving SS or other benefits that provides for the barest essentials.

Keep posting on this site. God bless you and your family.

NorthStar, you sound most intelgent than most post I've read. I dont know how to reach or call oue congress or the President. I wish their was some way I could give you my email to help me do this, I dont want to post it.

I pray Obama will work something out and and understand "we as the people" Need Disability to live. Getting on disability you have to be found by (2) two doctors that you are disable and I think if many were investaged, ect: Parents that have children as a payee abuse it and I personally know two mothers have all three children on SSI and one mother told her daughter to act stupid to get it at the age of 5 and she is now 10. and her son had a speech problem at the age of 3 and he is now 7 and not a thing with either one.

Think of this, mine just started in May and I was denied one time, many are denied several times and need an attorny, I didnt need one. Disibility is hard to get, you HAVE to be found disable. Can you think of a way we can talk and help me finding our states congress and reach the president. Possibility make a fake email, then delete it? You have common sense!
