Huntsman campaign manager quits

NBC News has confirmed that Jon Huntsman campaign manager Susie Wiles has quit the campaign, and she's being replaced by top communications aide Matt David.

Huntsman senior adviser John Weaver says in an email:

"Susie has served the campaign well and was vital in getting it off the ground in such a short time-frame. In just under three months Gov. Huntsman has returned from China, launched a campaign and created a strong infrastructure in the 3 early primary states. He's built important relationships with donors, as well as political, policy, and grassroots leaders that other candidates have been courting for half a decade."

More from Weaver: "Now the campaign is moving into phase two which will be more aggressive from a messaging and tactical standpoint and Matt is prepared to take that on."

If Susie was doing such a great job, why did she quit...or was she fired. Either way Huntsman is like a sailboat in the middle of a lake with no wind. So far his boat isn't going anywhere. And the Tea Party if Florida has started their engines. Florida is make or break for Huntsman. There's plenty of time, but so far he's stalled without a life preserver.

You mean he has no anti-abortion specialist on board?

Well. He must be a closet liberal, after all. Time to hoist anchor and row. He's done in the cupcake wars.

(Oops. Mixed my metaphors again. Must be too much sugar from watching the Food Network.)

Maybe she was the one who hired the guy who did Huntsman's biker in the desert non-ads and that really was a foolish way to spend Huntsman's money. Or - in true Republican fashion - maybe she was actually a decent human being so they had to get rid of her so they could play their sick brand of hardball!

The under the table racial remarks and basic disrespect for the first non white president is insane. Repub freshman like that lame that made the stop lying video people like that run your party now. have fun soon getting 20 percent of the vote its coming and coming fast. Susie, obviously got the take off right but has decided to jump ship before the impending fiery crash. Don't get me wrong, I not that familiar with Huntsman, but I must say I find any Republican "moderate" intriguing. Much like, my interest in nearly extinct species.

Perry is handicapped by his association with GWB. . .plus, his record is nothing to crow about. Yeah, I know about the jobs. How long will those last if we don't have educated people to fill them? (Texas ranks in the bottom 5 states as far as education goes.) We spend much less per student than many other states. This year, the TX state budget was balanced on the backs of teachers and school staff--and the students will be paying for it in the future. Perry and the legislators did this despite the fact that we have close to 10 billion dollars in a "rainy day" fund. It's not raining here, and school funding is drying up, while Perry sits on the emergency "well". I wouldn't want him to drain it, but it's important to know when to invest dollars and when to save them.

Perry may be better than Bachman or Romney (?), but not by much!!

Real Clear Politics has President Obama's approval rating at 46% and disapproval rating at 48.3%. As this is an average of several major polls, it represents a more valid rating.

All of the republicans posting on this comment thread never seem to mention how Obama out raised all GOP candidates in the first quarter by more than two to one. Of course you will start SHOUTING how it's all corporate interests, but no, once again you are wrong no matter how loudly you shout. Most of his donations come from individuals. and Republicans have historically received more campaign donations from business than democrats. and I don't have to shout that because it's the truth.

So why even have an election, whomever raises more money wins, right?! Look up how many losers outspent their competitors in political races for Congress, Senate, and President in the last two decades. You will be a bit worried if you are relying on the contribution amount to determine winners for 2012.

I am a Democrat and I would vote for Huntsman over Obama. Huntsman is pragmatic and I wish the crazies on the right would man up and nominate someone who isn't an insane Sarah Palin-wannabe who literally believes that she was told by God to be both an IRS agent AND an anti-tax "Tea Partier". Like, Jon Huntsman could smash Obama like a stupid fundie like Bachmann or Perry never would be able to.

Justice Kennedy was considered conservative when he was nominated for the bench, but says his opinions have not changed, it's America that has gotten very, very conservative. Obama is centrist, not leftist.
