I can not believe the lack of respect the Republicans have for the President .  Remember he is not the one who took us to two illegal wars, gave big tax breaks for the rich, deregulated the banks so they could screw us, gave us part D for prescription drugs and not paid for. This President has worked harder than any President that I have ever seen and I am 72 years old so I have seen a lot. He has tried very hard to save this country and the Republicans just won't work him. I realized how prejudice & bigoted the Republicans are. The stock market is way up and the list goes on.

Did you all forget he got Bin Laden. The Republicans could not do it. This man will go down in history as one of the best Presidents this country has ever had.

The ONLY thing that OBAMA can be congratulated on, is not following through with "the cut and run policies" he claimed he was going to do while campaigning for President. And for not following through, closing Gitmo to appease his LOONEY anti-war liberal base. PERIOD. What irritates me is Obama spends Public Tax Payer Funds traveling by Air Force One at $80,000 an hour total cost to attend these Democratic Fund Raisers. It goes without saying that Obama auctions off meals at the White House openly.. and you doubt he dimimishes the Presidency ?

If President Obama were to meet with the GOP and not say a word and only listen...the GOP would call him a dictator and come up with all sorts of lies to discredit his image, once again. The baggers haven't done a thing to help the economy recover. Instead they've done everything in their power to see that it falters and fails. Why should the president go to Capital Hill to talk to the do nothing teapugs? He's already spoken to every group in the Congress and still the baggers haven't gotten anything done. Why go and listen to the same nonsense that they've been spewing alll along? Nothing's changed. What's that about the president never being in Washington? If anything it's the baggers in the House who take a vacation every other week and do nothing for the week that they are in Washington. I would even accept Joe Biden, although unwillingly, if Obama were to resign today. It's ironic that Cornyn lambasted Obama for attending a fund raiser and then, immediately afterward, Cornyn left Washington to attend a fund raiser.

Some in the GOP have a tactic -- and it seems to work -- of criticizing Obama every time he leaves the Oval Office for whatever reason. They've counted the number of "golf trips" he's made since taking office. (Seventeen.) They excoriated him last summer for taking a weekend off with his family for a vacation in Maine. He can't attend a G8 Conference in Europe without being damned for not taking care of business at home. I half expect to hear his critics in Congress demanding to know why he takes so long in the bathroom? And does he REALLY need eight hours of sleep a night?

It's a truly illogical criticism. (Nobody mentions that G. W. Bush spent roughly one third of his first term either on vacation or en route.) It falls in the same category as lambasting him for reading speeches from a teleprompter.

None of this is interesting from a political point of view but it's fascinating from a psychological point of view. The reasoning, which at base resembles Glenn Beck's, must go something like this. "Obama is evil. Therefore everything he does is evil." There is no room for ambiguity.
